Pho in Newham

I recently visited Pho, a restaurant known for its Vietnamese cuisine. They offer a wide variety of dishes, which is great, but I did notice that halal options are quite limited. However, after speaking with the staff, we found out that the chicken is halal and they were accommodating enough to prepare the broth using vegetable stock upon request. We decided to go with that option, and I have to say, the food didn’t disappoint. The broth was flavorful, light yet rich, and paired perfectly with the tender chicken and fresh herbs. It was a comforting and satisfying meal. While I do wish they had more halal choices on the menu, the staff’s willingness to adjust the dish to suit our needs was appreciated. If you’re looking for Vietnamese food in Stratford and require halal options, it’s worth having a quick chat with the team — they seem quite flexible. Would definitely go back to explore more of their menu!

Ordered a delivery from these guys, saw an option for 20p metal REUSABLE CUTLERY. I thought lets give it a go. Im more impressed with their sense of not being cheapskates like other places, than anything. Great great people. Big up Pho. The price reflects the service and quality.

Its a goood one to spend you money

Keep visiting because I really love the taste of steak pho and they have lovely, friendly staffs, also I live near by. The food is fast so it really fits people who is hungry or don’t want to cook. The only one thing to suggest: Will be great if the quality of food can be kept in a same level, bc sometimes the soup will be salty than ever, sometimes the beef is rare or well down, sometimes too much green onions on the top……if possible, but is really a lovely place though.

I’m a big fan of eating Pho. This place has a massive variety of options. I had the hot and sour chicken soup pho this time. The broth was great, really flavoursome. The chicken was ok - a bit dry even though it was submerged in broth. The noodles were all stuck together in one clump. It was quite hard to separate them. The food was ready so quickly, probably took less than a minute. It was super busy in Westfield so can’t say much about the atmosphere.

Vermicelli clumps together, "signature" beef brisket turnout to be shreds of overcooked dry shank in the shape of a broom. The most horrible pho I've ever had around the world

I had a terrible experience here. The manager was extremely disrespectful. Even though the store was about to close, the people who arrived after me were allowed to place their orders, simply because they stood in line first. I stepped away briefly to help my friend put something away, but when I came back, I was refused service. The way they handled the situation was completely unfair and unprofessional. This kind of behavior is terrible!

The guy at the till recommended the spicy prawn bowl and it was delicious would have it again portions are very generous

I ate here a few times. I like the herbs that come with the soup. I like the curry soup, the classic one to me has little taste. I like the range of vegetarian options.

Best food I have EVER eaten. I never leave food reviews but this food was absolutely MINDBLOWING. I got the tofu veg rice bowl, and it was BURSTING with flavor. So delicious, it tasted so fresh and the portion size was great! I have no complaints it was themost refreshing meal I have ever eaten and everything was so delicious. The workers are also very cautious and careful when it comes to allergies. I let them know about my nut allergies and they took great lengths to ensure that my food was safe to eat. I rate this place ♾️/10

I recently ordered via Deliveroo! The meal had no taste, was so oily and wet but the chicken was dry, maybe been cooked a few times not sure. About an hour after the meal I fell ill, maybe I am intolerant to something I didn’t know was in the meal. I’ve had Pho before, so not sure what went wrong here.

I was doing my weekend shopping in Stratford Westfield and gave this a try as a quick lunch. Ordered the Beef combo pho; which came with steak, brisket and meatballs. The broth was decent and needed the garnishing that came with it to give it more depth of flavour. The portion was a bit on the smaller side(which would be great for those who are not too hungry). The noodles together with a drink came to a total of about £18 for one person. Overall it was decent; food was ready quite quickly, not much of an atmosphere to talk about considering it’s in a pretty busy shopping mall food court.

The least authentic food you could experience, the Bun is served hot and bean sprouts are stir fried - after raising this with the restaurant they have confirmed this to be correct. I was expecting a noodle salad, not hot noodles, they were so hot the cold dressing became warmed and lettuce also sweated. Very disappointing and overly priced. Perhaps Pho Cafe management team should be clearer on the dishes. Uneditable

This was best Pho that I have ever eaten so far. Even though this restaurant is in a mal they serve you the Pho so elegantly and nice in bowl and herbs on the side, so you can choose yourself how you want to eat your Pho. I had the Tofu & Mushrooms Pho with vegetable broth. It was truly wonderful. I really recommend to put the lime in. It was the best broth I have ever had. Really really good. 🙌🏼

Worst £20 I’ve ever spent, feel bad writing about this cos the staff there were incredibly lovely. But I bought the pork rice bowl, and it was not worth it; tasteless dry and extremely small serving like 5 little cubes. Most of my dish was rice and cabbage, rice was okay but everything else lacked taste. Spring rolls were alright tho. But I will avoid the rice dishes completely. Just stick to the pho.

Set in busy food court but the service is amazing , the food was tasty , fresh & piping hot in temperature. I had a small issue with my food and went to just let them know in case they had any other issues and they were more when accommodating quick to offer to a fresh dish without it being an inconvenience upon collecting they also have another drink on the house which wasn’t necessary as the staff had already given 10/10 service

This place is taking the Pho-king piss. The bowl of Pho is just a huge bucket of hot water with oil flavouring. Theres about 100 grams of noodles and 30 grams of chicken. The broth is basically heated water, the chicken is bland, and the noodles taste like cardboard. This is a huge scam for the price you pay for this crap food. No wonder theres only 300 calories in a bowl that big, as there is nothing in the bowl. Instead of getting a large soup spoon to get the little bit of food out, you will need a search party, as there is nothing in the bowl. OVERPRICED AND UNDERWHELMING FOOD, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

First let me say I’m a regular at Pho, 2-3 takeaways from Balham a month and visit the restaurants, in general they’re great. The one in Stratford today really disappoints though. Ordered my regular fried rice, it was soggy, soft and flavourless - clearly too much water. Also bar missing key items from the menu. Maybe a bad day but definitely not the consistency I expect from Pho and although a good side a very below average main from one of my usually favourite restaurants

Loved their This isn’t chicken wok fried rice and veg spring rolls. Both were delicious. Service was quick even though there was a long queue. Lots of options to choose from. Update Aug 2024: we tried the tofu & veg rice bowl, and felt it was quite average. Will stick to the noodle soups next time.

Was very disappointed in this bowl. Break it down into the main parts: broth is pretty much simmered water with a whiff of beef, pho tastes waxy, beef is over cooked to the point of having no discernible flavour, Greens were not fresh, no chilli sauce option, zero flavours. I hope this was a one off and that if I ever go back the quality would have improved. Also, to those who think this place is authentic, please believe that nobody should eat pho with a wooden ladle!

Every time I eat here, I get an upset stomach and have to use the loo several times, but the food is good. I don’t have an issue with the spice or any allergies, so it’s just this place. May be to do with the high salt content.

Rubbish food, ordered a beef vermicelli without soup one, the portion of vermicelli was not even enough for kid , they were too soft,, like baby food!!what they have put was a lot of lettuce (like half cooked??) carrot,, to occupy the big bowl,,,peanut was ok, lots of msg as well as I was so thirsty, I have never had such bad Vietnam food in my life,, I really wanna rate 0!!! I think it’s because of busy Sunday,, but they should not give such food to their customer ,,,

Visited Pho at Stratford Westfield again. Does not accept cash….!!! Rating from 2 stars down to a star. ************************ Mainly soup, not much noodles. It lacks flavour, and the quantity of the noodle compared to the soup is too little. Expensive for what is worth, paying for location. ************************ Thought I try Pho again to see if there is improvement. Answer is no. Still a 1 star rating. Very salty chicken and prawn fried noodles and small glass of coffee (expensive)

Tasty food and efficient service. Obviously sitting in Westfield Food Hall isn’t massively relaxing as it’s heaving with people but the food at Pho is a good choice

Delicious food, very fresh ingredients and hearty flavours! We love this Pho store. It’s in the world food court in Westfield. We get dine in, take away and delivery from this restaurant. They do fantastic chicken wings, crispy due their small size, with a delicious sriracha sauce!

This was such a treat! Whilst shopping this is a must visit . The food is light tasty and really fresh. The service was swift and as expected. Atmosphere in this restaurant was friendly. This ice part of eating is that you can spice up your food if necessary. Great place for vegetarians and children. Thanks for having us.

For those who relish Vietnamese cuisine, this place is excellent. Conveniently located in the food court of Westfield mall, Stratford. Plenty of seating but it can get crowded near the restaurant as they are always very busy. The pho is delicious and very filling. Having their apple mint juice was very refreshing too. Definitely a place to visit if you are looking for some authentic Vietnamese food.

First time trying Pho and was pleasantly surprised. Very flavourful chicken broth. Comes in a big bowl so be prepared for the big fluid intake. Would have been nicer with the more noodles or beansprouts to go with the volume, the chicken itself was ok Westfield is busy so might be an idea to get a table before ordering. The Chicken Pho is halal, as are the other chicken dishes, but worth checking before ordering.

One of the best beef brisket pho I’ve had in my life, convenient location in the mall, plenty of seats in the food court and the service is quick.the pho is a bit expensive at $13 and it can be so spicy if you eat the chilli that your eyes will sting for like an hour, but it’s worth it (for the people that can reasonably handle spice)

Reliable spot in the Stratford food court. My Grandma’s favourite! We always go together. Always know what you’re getting and never disappoints! Only four stars because of the food court environment (can’t be changed). My boyfriend thinks the food court is busy and unpleasant, but says Pho is good. Tastes fresh.

Always craving for hot soup noodles in winter time. Steak with garlic soup noodles always the best choice for me to order in Pho. The beef steak is juicy and tender. The soup tastes good with the mint, coriander, bean sprouts, and of course the lime juice and chili. Don’t forget to order a cup of fresh juicy. There are many combinations. They are no added sugar and mint, lime and apple is my favorite for sure!

AMAZING FOOD! OMG! The curry was the absolute best, and the spicy chicken soup with extra tofu is so flavourful. My family had a lovely day out yesterday and enjoyed it so much. Would defiantly recommend and come back again. Staff were also so lovely and kind. Helped me and my family out when we needed guidance as it was our first time ordering. 👍🏼❤️

Beef & mushroom noodles soup was amazingly good. The flavor of broth was very flavorful. All noodles soup comes with a complimentary plate of fresh coriander, mint, basil, red chili and bean sprouts. The size of the bowl is big (enough for 2 people). Nice and friendly employees. Medium prices.

The staff is really kind, but the food its not enough. I spend 15£ on a beef Pho and after finishing I still hungry so I ask if I can have extra noodles to satisfy my appetite but they said its not posible. As a broke student its a shame that I spend the little money I got for a meal that its not enough (not even 50g of pasta in the Pho) really disappointed.

Food quality has been degraded on every basis. I’m a regular customer of Pho. So I’m writing this review because I received food with hair.. which made me review this.. being working as manager in restaurants this is reliance to health and safety regulations which they are lacking behind

This place looks fresh, an open kitchen where you can see how your food is prepared. Chefs all appear to be vietnamese so you know you're getting 'authentic' or as authentic as it can be vietnamese food. I ordered a Wok Fried rice (Cơm Chiên) with chicken and dry shrimp. Those after halal, the chicken is the only halal option they have. Just be sure they're not adding alcohol and are not using the same utensils or pans from other food that is being prepared. Overall the food tasted great, the man did say at point of ordering it will be spicy and if i was sure? I said hell yea! Why not? Im asian as i come and nothing as of yet ive tasted has been too spicy! As the food arrived i could smell the dried shrimp. This may be off-putting for some but i assure you this is normal. Dried fish or shrimp will always smell quite strong so i didn't mind it. Afterall i am I bengali and dried fish (hutki) is kushboooi (amazing). The rice had a sticky texture to it which was nice, i could see a lot of chilli flakes too. Dissapointed at the amount of chicken though, i was expecting more chicken. I think i received a total of just two cubes of chicken shredded. I was still left hungry if im honest. As for the shrimps, they're so small they're almost invisible! You can't taste the shrimps but you can smell them! I did find a shrimp, take a closer look at the picture with the chicken piece. I've placed the shrimp on top of the chicken. Its almost the same size as a grain of rice that's how small they are. My food was accompanied with a small pot of spicy soy sauce which was nice. Overall the meal cost me £10.35, normal price is £11.50. Nice to see that they accept Bluelight card which i was able to use. Having looked at how appetising their soup bowls are i may have to give this place another try... a 3 out of 5 from me.

The pho was really good - it had a clean taste and the beef was so tender. The fried rice was a bit too spicy for us, but it was tasty and the serving size was quite big. Overall, great food for amazing value!

Pho lacks flavor all around, don't let the huge boiling pots of broth fool you. No hoisin sauce!? The noodles taste like plastic. The meat was very tough to chew. Definitely not authentic but what can you expect at a shopping mall right. Bean sprouts were brown. The juice was the best thing ordered here. Efficient service though.

i had the chicken pho- the broth was tasty, but the chicken was extremely dry and chewy, i'm not usually picky about overcooked meat but this was exhausting to eat. the noodles were also all stuck together which made them hard to eat. overall i enjoyed it but i have low standards and this could have been cooked a lot better very easily.

Vietnamese cooking always tastes nice and fresh to me,today I had morning glory cooked in garlic 😋 delicious and prawn summer rolls with peanut sauce..both very tasty and filling..

As a Vietnamese, the flavour is super weird, like blunt food. I was shocked as I tried many Vietnamese restaurants around Uk but this one made me feel like I am eating some blunt food… sorry you will not feel the authenticity here Herbs are not fresh, and fish sauce has no flavor

I'm regular customer, I personally love the spring rolls, super tasty and crunchy, the best ones!! You can tell they're really fresh handmade compare to other vietnamese restaurants where they are frozen ones. The atmosphere is great, and the staff is super nice and friendly, that's why I always come back! Always with the smile in their face and ready to help if needed.

Very dirty , the wood spoon didn't clean well and I can swim the noodle soup , lots of oil, no taste even they save noodles. Nothing fresh! I never seen this Pho! Disgusting !!

Great food as well as the atmosphere. We had the chicken curry noodle soup, which was delicious and reasonably priced (£12) considering the portion, they had no draught beer so were recommended Saigon premium bottled beer which was fairly good too. Our server Jana made our whole lunch a very pleasant first experience in Pho. We will definitely be back for more. Thank you.

I have recently visited Pho at the Westfield Stratford and had a really good experience. Staff was very helpful and kind. Mostly Jane, she suggested me this isn’t curry noodle soup which was phenomenal and after she helped me to carry my meal to the table ( I’m on crutches). All experience was great. I’d highly recommend and will definitely come back. This curry vegan soup is addiction.

Nothing beats a good pho. The service here is amazing. Such a friendly atmosphere. You feel welcome from the moment you walk to the till. And the food is perfect. It's cooked right. Flavoured right. Everything about the experience was 10/10

The food is usually really good. Great variety of spices and chillis, a hearty pho for a winters day. I recently tried the vegan chicken. It was disgusting. Tofu would have been a better choice.

Third time eating at this branch i had the stir fried rice and dried prawn with a fried egg Paid over £12 for a meal that made me best friends with my toilet for hours It is a shame as other branches never had a issue But never go to this branch

I found a caterpillar in my food which was moving not very hygienic at all.I wish I had taken a photograph and I have seen another review that this is not the first time this has happened. When I returned the food, they did not appear too apologetic but refunded my money.

I have visited this establishment multiple times and have consistently chosen the Pho House dish, consisting of Pho noodles soup with steak, chicken, and prawns. The entire bowl of pho has always been impressive, particularly the broth. The only drawback I have found is that the portion size of the pho is relatively small. You receive only a few bites of flat rice noodles along with 2 to 3 small pieces of chicken, steak, and prawns, accompanied by a generous amount of broth and a few pieces of vegetables. Personally, I believe that the price does not correspond to the portion size. This restaurant would be ideal if they were to address this issue.

Situated on the top floor of Westfield Shopping Centre Stratford, this Vietnamese Restaurant offers a good selection of dishes at competitive prices. You order and pay first. You are then given a buzzer which will go off when the food is ready for collection. The glasses for drinks and bowls for food are very heavy, so be prepared for a mini work out session when you go to collect your food! The food itself was delicious; Vietnamese Chicken noddle soup and the Chargrilled Chicken thigh rice bowl. To drink; Apple with ginger juice and Beetroot with ginger juice. Both were fresh, vibrant and tasty. Unfortunately they had run out of pork but I will definitely return in the future to try some different dishes.

The chicken and beef are chewy and taste like cardboard. Even ASDA chilled chicken and beef taste much better. Disappointed.

Ordered pho with beef meat ball, brisket . Soup taste not too bad of course you should tried it once if you are in Vietnam the authentic one🥰 can gv it a try Score 5.5/10 Summer rolls- The salad wrap with rice paper it SUPERB! This one 10/10 the iingredient inside the wrap is so fresh , mint leaves, slice carrot, cooked shrimp and peanut sauce dip awesome!! Then mango salad, I gv 7/10 though the mango slightly ripe. Of course it will be more tastier if the mango is still green and it taste soury hehe try it when you go to asia. Again try it who know next time the mango they purchase is much better than the one i had yesterday. Food court is massive huge plenty of seats. Went thr during weekdays. Most important of all, after all the order taken they will ask if you have any allergy. I think is very important and very good. I would recommend people to try eat here.

I found a worm/caterpillar in my food. Being served food with insects really ruins the experience.

Always fond of their summer veg roles served with peanut sauce, really good to try. However the fried rice was extra oily and not that good in taste.

£12 for a vegan soup that was basically few leaves, noodles, one piece of chunky raw onion and fill up with hot water. Mostly water. At least you could cook the onion. Nice flavour. It was hot. A little bit of bread, wouldn't hurt.

We have been very regular at this location, and have tried number of Phos; spicy chicken and prawn Kari have been our favourite. Will keep going here atleast for some time.
