Philps Pasties in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Don’t wish your money more potato than meat got my mother, a giant pasty for Mother’s Day cost. A lot of money rang up to complain and very very rude person on the end of the phone said we should have taken photographs there was way way more potato in the past season of meat would never buy them again don’t waste your money.

Lovely fresh cornish pasties and cakes. Popular stop for all for a takeaway lunch. Limited parking in Praze. A must if you are passing by or you can order for home delivery

I was with my son cycling from Herne Bay to Lands End. On the 10th day we were going from Castletown to Falmouth. A nice short hop. We were feeling hungry when to our joy we chanced across this gem. The shop is tiny and oppostire a classic village green. We sat enjoying the most excellent pasties and watching as so many tradepeople came and dropped in for lunch.

Everytime I visit Cornwall I go for a Philps Pasty, even shop online with them. Pasties are the REAL cornish pasty, Meaty,Moist and with the right amount of seasoning, I can honestly say it pays to buy the best....which is Philps

The 5 star reviews are absolutely spot on. We stopped here just as they opened. The smell is incredible from outside and the pasties are delicious. My wife is not a pie fan but she loved it. Between the family we tried the steak, chicken, cheese and veggie ones and they were all outstanding and fresh out the oven. Even the locals say these are the best and we all agreed.

Lovely delights filled with joy, enjoyed while on our hike along the coast. What a lovely way to enjoy the day with a pleasurable hike and a wonderful snack.

We are lucky to live locally so can enjoy a great pastie at any time. Also enjoyed by all of our visitors, one regular visitor always takes a few back to Surrey for family and friends.

Bought cornish pasties to bring home, they were great, bought medium and they were so filling would not have been able to finish a large, lots of filling as well

Nice, big and filling. Staff friendly. Had four pasties but should have got 2 far too big, easy parking nearby.

If you pass through Praze-An-Beeblestop of in the centre to try a Philps Cornish Pasty. These pasties are my favorite and well worth a try. I like standard mince with flaky pastry.

I Have one everyday when here on holiday. They have a few more shops than they had in twenty eighteen making it easier to buy one.

Came across the shop when walking around. Was drawn in by the display and yummy aroma. Not disappointed.

There are friendly staff. This small shop sells good local pasties. It is very popular with locals stopping and getting their lunches.

NIce full pasties always loads of meat and veg in them and nice and hot and at a very good prices to buy for them to.

Greasy pastry, over seasoned and meat in one lump in middle of pasty. Usually have chronic indigestion after one of their pasties. Staff are unhelpful and miserable. They are obviously making a take over bid for West Cornwall. Look around you will find better patsies at a much better price

It was averaging 15 degrees in Cornwall this week(so unusual for February) so my wife and I headed off to praa sands to enjoy watching the waves and surfers. We decided to take a pasty with us. We called in at the Philps shop in Helston on the way. We purchased a steak and a minced beef pasty. My favourite was the minced beef. It’s probably been 35 years (as a child on holiday with family) since I have tasted such a great pasty. I did like the choughs pasties in Padstow. I was not that keen on Anne’s pasty’s on the lizard. This is now my favourite and I going to have to take a box back to Chester to freeze and eat slowly over the summer.

Philps do the best pasties - ever! Good range, including veggie and cheese and onion. Have eaten from both Praze-an-Beeble and Marazion, both equally good

Philps Pasty’s are the best mass produced around, and excepting my Dad’s, Aunties’, and the odd butchers pasty’s Philps are my favourite.

Every time we are in Hayle we have to have a Philps pastie and one for the fatherinlaw. They are simply the best.

Visiting down from Scotland and tried a few pasty shops, and Philps definitely had the best! Delicious.

I have lived opposite this pasty shop for years now and I have yet to be disappointed (Plenty of pasties) The lady’s in there are very pleasant and if you’re visiting cornwall, Philips is a must! Would recommend

Absolutely didn’t need a large, weighed as much as a small child. Took three of us to carry it to the car. Joking aside, had the large steak Cornish pasty. Was really good, excellent peppery seasoning gave it a nice kick. Overall well worth a visit. People told me they do the best Cornish pasties, however I will need to try more before I can pass judgement, but a friend from Cornwall claims they are the best.

Great shop very welcoming and with a good choice, you have to try a pasty when in Cornwall. Read the whole board or you will make the same mistake we did! Premier shop across the road sells ice cream as well.

Best pasties we had whilst we were on holiday in cornwall.. so much filling, cant beat a steak pasty from philps. We even got one for the journey back home.

If you’re near a Philp’s bakery, go and get a pasty. You won’t be disappointed. One of the best pasties I’ve ever had. The Danish pastry was pretty special too!

This maker is famous for its pasties so highly recommended to one and all (and our pug Simon who partakes but dont tell the vet) :)

The pasties from here were really nice, we had two regular steak pasties which were large enough for my wife, toddler and me. Parking was a bit difficult by the shop but there are plenty of places within walking distance.

Never miss a chance to call in to Philps for a pasty when in the Hayle area. Choices of flavours and sizes. All delicious and freshly baked. Be prepared to queue during the summer season as it doesn’t take the holidaymakers long to find this treasure!

We picked up a selection of pasties on our way home and really enjoyed them with the rest of the family. They are good quality and not too peppery as can be the case elsewhere. The filling were generous and the pastry was moist and so all in all a good choice but nothing available vegetarian at the time as they were closing for the bank holiday weekend and were running down supplies.

Super range of cornish pasties meat to veggie plus a selection of cakes. All are very big and very tasty. Fillings are quality. Parking is a bit hairy. Staff lack a bit of personality. Dont take cards which for the prices is wrong so i had to trudge over to the very busy post office.

This week I have had six pasties mainly large steak and they are magnificent and also the cheese and veg which are also lovely. My partner is vegetarian and she had the Quorn pasty and said it was fab. A must if you visit Cornwall.

Not as I remember them. I hadn’t had a Philps pasty for a couple of years so was expecting good things but I was sorely disappointed. It was greasy and not properly cooked as well as smaller than I remembered.

Absolutely fantastic food. Pasties are the best we feel and good sausage rolls too. If you go at lunchtime expect a big queue!

Even the Cornish say these are the best pasties ... and they are !! Do not waste your time buying from any where else Philps pasties even doing a posting service ... in sure my husband will be a regular at ordering :)

Absolutely terrible! Without a doubt the worse pasty I've ever had ! . Dry pastry no seasoning at all and this was the so called PREMIUM Pastie !

I live in Praze and I can vouch for Philips pasties! They have the best fillings (good sized lumps of steak, good meat: veg ratio, well seasoned) and Philips pastry is only narrowly beaten by Rowes in my opinion. There's usually a good selection of cakes, other savouries and bread if you're early enough, although you need to be there by lunch time on busy weekends and in the summer if you want the widest choice. The ladies in the shop are lovely too.

I'm funny in what I'm looking for in Pasty. It's not the filling, but it's the crust. The pasties from Philps has the perfect crust for me. The steak was so tender. Delicious. I only wish they were a bit easy on the salt.

Far too much salt and pepper and not much meat in the more expensive pastie for me. OK for my partner who is normally very heavy handed with the cruet but even he didn't add any extra!

Always excellent pasties, always polite friendly and happy staff. Wouldn't get pasties anywhere else but Philps

Can't comment on price as was bought for me but Cheese and Veg all the way for this vegetarian. Really tasty.

Served by very friendly staff! I was surprised at the choices of fillings for the pasties. Chose Steak! Pipping hot, filled to the brim with meat, vegetables and juices wrapped in a rich shortcrust pastry! Delightful! Unfortunately we can get nothing like this in Lincolnshire!

This is a lovley little pasty shop, with lush pasty, some of the best in Cornwall! Always stop when down that way

My family and I have been eating Phillips pasties for many years, we all look forward to a trip to Cornwall as it immediately conjures up a mental picture of a Phillips Pasty. However I was slightly disappointed this year to find that some changes had taken place in the Hayle shop, and I think I detected a change in recipe! Not quite so good as before, watch out Phillips your reputation is at Stake. Still the best pasty in Town, thanks to the staff for the hard work slaving over hot ovens for us to eat them in minutes

I have never known a bakery that has no pasties until 9.30 or fresh bread until 10.30 in the morning! You couldn't make it up! Useless! Bread was nice when managed (once in a two week stay) to buy it and pasties also nice but over seasoned. Can't see how the company makes money and can be profitable when it's missing so much passing trade. Needs dragging into the 21st century.

We had pasties more than once from Philps which was recommended to us by one of the Clowance bar staff. We also bought amazing wholemeal and granary bread here.

Had to pit stop here so partner could get a pasty or two!! He absolutely love's them, nice good filling, bit too much pastry for my liking. Smelt gorgeous walking up to the shop. Will definitely call in again next time we're down this way

This tiny bakery sells a good range of pasties, pastries, cakes and bread. They sell out by early afternoon so make sure you get there early. It is always a good sign when the locals use something, and every time I went there I saw someone from the village. You can also order pasties for collection. They only take cash but there is a Post Office just over the road if you need cash.

These Pasties are Well known for their quality throughout West Cornwall, they do Several different fillings but I have to Say the Steak Pasties are Scrumptious! If you find yourself in Hayle, the Bakery is on the Quay, they Go quickly, You may have to wait for a fresh Batch, But it's worth the Wait!

Popped in for a pasty and cakes on our way out for the day. The pasties were tasty and delicious and we will definitely go again.

Locally there are 3 Philps shops and every one of them serve the best pasties around. The queue out of the door just shows that everyone loves them. Cakes are good too!

Fab and tasty local baker - pasties catered for normal and gluten free diets (call to order an hour in advance for GF). Best pasties bar none!

Pasties are expensive and over seasoned, the pastry is hard and difficult to eat. As for the other products bread has a short life becoming hard very quickly and the cakes are over priced and average. The staff are miserable and only interested in getting your money in their till as quickly as possible. If you are having a good day visit here and you will soon be depressed.

Fantastic pasties!! Fresh bread and cakes served daily. There's always somewhere to park and with excellent customer service, it's a no-brainer that this is the initial choice for the best and proper Cornish Pasties!

Came across this bakery by accident- happened to be staying near Praze An Beeble and was looking for the 'authentic Cornish pasty experience', and I think I found it??Pastry was excellent, choices of filings including mince or diced steak, the size of the pasties were monumental.Great for taking on a picnic rather than going to an expensive café. Lovely!

Very handy for an easy lunch. You can always ring them and order the size of pasty you require and the time you want to collect them. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The pasties are juicy, full of meat and vegetables. Perfect Cornish fare. I go to Praze because it is closer to where I live.

Always good and especially when they roll out their meal deal again for £3 which is well worth it when you're passing by a fancy a pasty, drink & a doughnut for your lunch.

I was recommended this pasty shop by a friend who said it was the best he'd ever had. He has of course never had one of my Mum's, Aunts (x 3) or Grandmother's so he was a little off the mark.Overall the pasty was of good texture, size for price, shortcrust pastry and used, so I am told, skirt. What I felt was less good were the proportions; there was a reasonable amount of meat but then the potatoes overwhelmed the swede (which was difficult to find and more difficult to taste) and onions. The seasoning was only just noticeable, more white pepper was needed to give it a bit of spiciness.Of course compared to anything bought up country it was excellent.

Unless you are starving dont get as large pasty, You wont finish it!!! Beautiful pasties. The main shop is in Hayle, but Praze was local to us. Full of flavour and lovely pastry. Mince or steak, either is superb.

The best pasties anywhere!! Genuine Cornish pasties as good (or may be better) than home made. They also have an excellent selection of sweet treats too.

Queued up in the pouring rain! But it was worth it! Excellent pasties! Value for money and they even do a home delivery service!

Excellent pasties, but also excellent cakes and bread. It's a good idea to order the pasties in advance, especially if you want something a little different i.e. flaky pastry instead of the standard shortcrust.

This really is THE best place to buy a Cornish pasty, time it right when they come fresh out the oven, they are handsome, piping hot and Moorish is not the words. Don't buy 1 from anywhere until you have tried these ones, recommend to anyone.
