Absolutely chaos. Vegan and gluten free options were incorrectly labelled. non gluten free sandwiches were labelled gf and they were not. This is a legal offence. Do not use. They do not know allergies and clearly take no care in delivering to businesses. Shocking. Please do not use this service if you have allergies.

Popped in here a couple of times for the office lunch round. Can be a bit hit and miss what they've got but as long as there early normally you'll be ok. The concept is a bit slow with food cooks from stations one side and till the other, especially if like me you're buying for a few people that all want something different you can be querying at 3 different stations. Personal favourite is a hot duck wrap with hoi sin lettuce and cucumber!

Tiny little place, but a good coffee and not bad breakfast on the go. and has a little rustic feel to it.

I called in a hurry for a sandwich or salad. I couldn't find the Greek salad I usually have, which was disappointing so I chose a tuna salad sandwich. When I got back to the office I found the sandwich was wet and soggy. Shame, it was not cheap! Service was efficient but rather cold.

Having walked past this place and it always looking busy but never having been in I thought I would give it a go today!! I realise now it always looks busy because there is no organisation so everyone is just in there in chaos! I ordered a panini from the and waited for it to be cooked, it would make more sense then to pay but no I had to queue up with my hot food to wait to pay after it was cooked. I noticed that the man making sandwiches didn't seem to clean his hands or change his gloves between cooking my panini and making pork sandwiches! Luckily I'm not a vegetarian as my cheese panini was cut and on a board that had seconds before contained pork and the knife wasn't even wiped or swapped either. The man making the sandwiches also was just scraping the food off the chopping board onto the floor. I'm just praying I don't get sick.. The hygiene rating is a 4 according to the FSA but that must have been a good day!! AVOID!

When I first came here, about five years ago, on a recommendation, I remember waiting to be served by a busy but friendly team, and I remember thinking the sandwich was pretty good (but didn't live up to the hype from my friend Gareth). This time there was just guy serving, no queue (it was 11.30, not lunchtime), the ingredients on display looked unappealing and it felt it was trying to quietly close down without anyone noticing. The guy serving made his muttered questions about sandwich details barely audible. The filling was from one of the bowls of mixtures, luckily labelled to tell them apart, dolloped into the roll. The components of the mixtures seem to be mushed up in mayonnaise, not as far as a paste but not far off. At this point I was still prepared to give the benefit of the doubt, thinking, ah this is their signature style mush, with the secret ingredients, this'll be delicious. Nah, not really, over-salted, mush, wish I hadn't bothered. Maybe some people love it but I thought today wasn't a good day for Philpotts.

I was shocked at the lack of hygiene in this sandwich bar. Two men were making sandwiches and collecting payments. No washing of hands after handling money and were not wearing disposable gloves. Regardless of what sandwich was being made, we were in a queue so observed several orders being made the same cloth wiped the knife and same cloth wiped the bread board. This is an expensive shop and I am sure when I used it years ago standards were much higher. Will not return.

I used to buy my lunch from Sandwhich Sandwhich on Baldwin street but recently got a new job so decided to try phillpots as it was closer. The shop is a mess and full of pre made sandwhiches the meat it dry and they have a rubbish selection of treats, fillings and hot sandwhiches. I'd rather walk the extra 10 minutes each way for some quality food

Ordered, what I believed to be a fair selection of different sandwiches for our meeting today, for over 63£ plus an additional 7£ for their taxi delivery I was presented with what can only be described as a rip off. Some tiny basic sandwich pieces, presented awfully (I had the doubtful pleasure of watching the driver rearranging them on the street with bare hands before bringing them into my office) and tasted dull and basic. Not to mention both the delivery person as well as their office failed to apologise for the 30 minutes delay. That was the last time I have tried an alternative, I stick with pret....

I was working in an office just around the corner from Philpotts and had noticed the place wen I walked to the office from Bristol Temple Meads station, so I thought I would give it a go at lunchtime. When I got to Philpotts, there was quite a queue - ok it was lunchtime, but nevertheless, it was a big queue - which I took to be an encouraging sign. How wrong I was. Firstly I couldn't believe the prices, which were way above what I would have expected to pay for a sandwich. I bought a New York Deli sandwich, which was supposed to have salami in it. OK, it had some, but not enough to justify the price. There was also hardly any butter and a limp attempt at a salad in addition to the meagre salami. All in all, the sandwich was a bit on the tasteless side and not what I was expecting. OK, I could have probably queued for a freshly made sandwich if I had had the time, but I didn't, Neither did I notice the prices of these , but I bet they wouldn't have been cheap. I wish there had been a Subway a little closer, but as I don;t really know the area, I was a bit stuck. I also didn't have much time, so had to get something from here. If I do have to go to this office again, I'll probably just take my own lunch with me, because I certainly won't be going to Philpotts again.

Just been charged £5.40 for a take away beef sandwich and a bag of crisps - sandwich had no butter on it and beef was full of fat and gristle. Strongly recommend you go else where!!

I was unfortunately really dissapointed when I visited Philpotts on Victoria street. Both the staff and the food were extremely underwhelming. I wanted a chicken, bacon and avocado baguette but they had run out of baguettes so I had a 'sub roll' which turned out to be very tasteless and when I saw that they were using filling that was pre prepared and almost looked as if it had been puréed I wished I hadn't even gone in in the first place. There were no whole chicken breast pieces, it was more like a paste with about two small bits of bacon and two slices of avocado. All in all it tasted really bad and was very small for the price. Also, I realised after that they had charged me 50p extra for a baguette which I didn't even have! Will not be returning.
