I have had a breakfast here many times. The food has been well cooked and nicely presented. The staff are usually friendly & polite and the prices are reasonable.

The lady who served us was lovely but the food and drink were bland and tasted cheaply made but we paid £3.95 for a slice of cheesecake which was horrendous! When we mentioned it, the lady was really nice about it and gave us another one but that still tasted disgusting so we asked for a refund when another lady came out who refused to refund us telling us the food is stored in the fridge but didn't seem to understand the concept that it tasted awful. To avoid argument or confrontation we accepted swapping it for something else but that was a lot cheaper than the cheesecake so we lost out on money. Shame. Hot chocolate tasted like water as well.

I had the veggie breakfast, it was the best I have had in a long time. The service was brilliant too.

Came here the other day for a jacket potato…bloomin delicious and well made. Really nice and clean place - not sure what the negative reviews relate to…I can see there a quite a few of them - my advice…get the Jack Potats💫💜💫

Raw sausage and eggs tasted really funny, when reporting this to the waitress, she gave me another raw sausage and dint even replace the eggs, very bad service, wouldn't advice anyone coming here

Hi ,I recommended you come to butler' caffe . Is the best place in the Bristol. The service is amazing, you should get the knikkerbokker ice cream- is amzing and get the breakfast

Went to butlers for a meal today, the food was average, service was fine. But there were mice running around the floor. Ended up leaving over half our meal and walking out. Will be contacting them for a refund asap.

I had a cooked breakfast here today. The food was an embarrassment! The sausage was cheap and tasteless, and cooked from frozen. The bacon was so tough that i could not chew it. The fried egg was very hard, it looked like a part of it was missing. Coffee was a tasteless diluted brown water. I would be embarrassed to serve such food to people. Definitely do not recommend.

We use butlers regularly however last few times the food has been poor and the service has been shocking, prices has risen quite a lot in last few months . I would say no longer worth the money when you can get better quality meals same price elsewhere locally.

Very inhospitable woman served me. Big song and dance about serving tap water. Fine for a quick bite but don't expect any charm.

Floors not even cleaned on the floor

Very bad attitude we told them the cup was dirty So We asked for take away cup, she answered that they don’t give takeaway cups for sitting in customers, then she accused us that we are lying. It’s sooo bad service and behavior Don’t recommend it

I was doing some shopping in the Galleries area and had been out over lunch and I was peckish and called in during the bit between Christmas and new Year - service was order and pay at the counter and they give you a number and then bring the food out This was swift and it was quiet on a horrible day outside (though we have had plenty of those) - nice bacon roll and this filled the spot before coming home - seats outside on the forecourt

Ordered a ham and cheese panini and latte was told to go sit and they will bring latte and food to me. Waited 15 mins for latte to arrive after i asked where it was, 25 mins for the panini which i only got because i kept having to ask where it was a dozen times , in the end i went to counter asked again and stood there and waited . Panini wasn't much to shout about either

The service was terrible and slow. Hot chocolate was cold and watery nothing like photos or reviews. Food was not good. Would not recommend. I would recommend you get the x1 to Weston and go to enchanted retreat for an excellent breakfast.

The food was standard, service was slow even though there was barely any costumers and atmosphere was not great. Food is just not of good quality, would recommend other places nearby for a better experience

Didn't like the service at all - staff has too much attitude and racist behaviour. Asked for a few extra trays which they didn't provide. Tried to talk to one staff and she completely ignored me as if I didn't exist!! Asked for two spoons and she gave me ice cream spoons (long ones) rather than the regular ones. She was behaving as if she was foing me a favour which she rather wouldn't do. Food was average, quantity was average but it wasn't cheap. Don't think I'll ever want to come here again.

Gammon steak was more like bacon. Thin and chewy. Otherwise very friendly and helpful staff.

I went today and ordered fish n chips with peas, waited over half an hrs when my plate arrived Chips were cold peas were only a spoonful on my plate and also were cold and fish batter was burnt, The waiter asked me to speak to the lady serving who he said was the boss , I took the plate to the lady who is the Manager she said we only give a spoon 🥄 of peas . Food was disgusting and expensive overpriced I’m also done from this place,

Order some food and asked for a glass of tap water, unafortunatelly I was refused and told I can only buy bottled water.I'm not an argumentative person just want the others know about the issue and that's me done with this place forever!!!!

Love coming here for a spot of Breakfast service is lovely as is the staff food service and atmosphere is 5 stars but reason behind the overall 4 stars is the wooden high chairs they have for toddlers are at the moment unsafe as the screws are loose....just need tightening up...and staff have been made aware

Ordered 2 smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on granary toast, with tea and cappuccino. Tea was tea bag dipped in hot water. I’ve never tasted cappuccino like it, no coffee taste just a nondescript disgusting flavour. Undrinkable left most of it. Scrambled eggs had very strange texture and corresponding disgusting taste. ‘Smoked salmon’ was tiny chopped up pieces of some pink very salty fish, not decent smoked salmon. Toast was soggy cheap brown bread. We both left most of it. A complete waste of almost £15.

Don't recommend this place at all I asked for beans on toast then changed my mind had a bacon bagguette but did not ask for a cup of tea I told her she said that I did she charged me £6.45 the bagguette was£4.25 I said bagguette is£4.25 she was making me a cupoftea that I didn't ask for I just toolkit but not drinking it I'm going to complain and ask for my money back I shant be coming here again

For health reasons I'm on a special low histamine diet. I asked if it butter they used on the baked potato. When I tasted it, it was definitely marg. The staff seemed bored and clearly uninterested in my request.

Had scampi and chips disgusting order was wrong did not understand any thing

Food was ok, when it got here. Most of the staff were unhelpful, waited over 40 mins for my food to get to me and it still took longer for my drink to arrive. The manager had a bad attitude and only two of the waiters seemed to actually put enough effort to help me out. All in all bad service. If it weren't for two helpful waiters I would've given this place no stars if I could.

We ordered are food together and all of it came out at different time the manager is a horrible person and rude the food took ages to come out I would have given it 0 stars but I can do not get food from here.

Used to use this cafe regularly. On this visit ordered a aeef dinner for my wife and a big breakfast for myself. Waitress came out with two beef dinners. Told her I ordered a breakfast but was insist ant she didn't her me order it. Who has a roast dinner with chips? Was roast potatoes last time and got what I ordered. Gone downhill won't be going there again. Shame

How the big breakfast it was ok for £7.75p the sausages are ok but they was a bit over cooked the rest was ok

I have popped in her several times for fish and chips. They are a reasonable price and tasty.

Served me a mouldy panini 🤮, however, staff were very nice and issued a refund instantly.

Poor customer service. Me and my friend got served separately. And then I had to go and ask about me food after 10 minutes. The lady wondered into Olivio (next door) as if my breakfast got up and walked into their kitchen. Eggs looked unpleasant and the yolks were hard, so was the toast, bacon and sausages. Hashbrowns were the only decent thing on there. The toast can be used as frisbees as it didn't have any butter. Also, beans were cold.

Food used to be top quality. I went in the other day but not only was the fish brown where it look like it been overcooked put the fish itself was partly raw. And the grease left on my plate afterwards was horrendous. I've never spat food out in public before so that was the first.

Money robbing company charged me twice for my meal and when i paid by card i tried phoning to get it sorted they never answer the phone and also the burger was horrible

Great food good prices but the cashier needs to be more pleasant especially when someone has special needs . The young girls lovely .

Thought to grab a bite to eat whilst picking up wedding dresses. All good at ordering until our food came and the waitress without any thought passed to plates of hot food across the head of our baby in his pram (already directly fed this point back). The food was awful, bacon was burnt and greasy and super salty, although not a fan of fried eggs anyway these were dripping in fat from the pan and clearly not drained at all (felt physically sick after 3 bites) and the hash browns were rock hard. Only positive was the service at the counter, where even though busy, good eye contact and communication were kept whilstbI waited. My complaint about our baby and the hot food was met with professional behaviour. No face mask on the waitress doing table deliveries even though this is in a large public shopping centre which again was shocking given the current omicron strain prevalent. Wouldn't go back again though!

Went to Butlers for breakfast with my partner and 4 month old baby for breakfast. Not the best unfortunately, partners plate was swimming in grease/fat, hash browns were rock hard and bacon was just fat. When it was bought to our table the plates were handed to us OVER THE TOP of our baby's pram while he was in it!

Awful service on Deliveroo. Took 2 hours and in the end I had to cancel the order. Pathetic.

Very good condition and good prices and the food is spot on and the staff are very friendly and very helpful I've been coming here for a couple of weeks and I will be coming back

Decent value for the price. Alot of complaints in other reviews about the quality but I don't know what they were expecting. Obviously not the smartest bunch of reviewers.

I've ordered fish and chips wasn't expect frozen fish I did enjoy chips by the way but most concern was their staff. The way they wear face mask sometimes they do sometimes they don't (half face,under their chin) . Probably wearing the same gloves all day. Serving your food then clean the table, taking cash and make your tea and coffee with same gloves. Okay for lower budget people to eat there. But if you are concerned about food hygiene and covid please aware this place.

never EVER done this in a cafe or restaurant before - i had to send it back to the counter after it was brought to be !! and say they can’t serve this! Fish and chips £4.95 - the batter was hard as nails and looked like cardboard with acid on it. chips n peas were fine. waitresses were fine. who in earth sets menu and choses the cheap inedible crap to serve needs to stop ripping off with the fish in the fish n chips. . NO WAY WAS THIS TRACITIONAL FISH N CHIPS. sadly waitress didn’t really sort it for he as after waiting i was just brought the sane thing again slightly undercooked this time. Revolting.

First time at butlers. Had a large breakfast. Price reasonable. However very very bland. Sausages no tast. Bacon vey fat. . Been on hot plate for ages.. So unfortunately will not return.! Suggestion: by better products cook Fresh. Then the prices would be reasonable

I am in hospital. I got amazing steak and chips. Only thing was the peas were missing. But delivery was good. I am please to say I order again.

The staff weren’t particularly friendly and when asked to disinfect the table (because it was sticky) it seemed like an inconvenience. I wasn’t impressed with the variety of the menu either. Wouldn’t visit again.

Great place to lunch when shopping in Bristol centre, good quality food well cooked and reasonably priced, staff are lovely.

Situated in the food court, Mall Galleries. Friendly, smiling staff. Spacious and airy, with good value.

Ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans and salad, found a massive piece of mud in my salad which oviously put me off my food. The manger was so rude and disgusting. I will never be visiting again. Rude staff. Terrible management and no standards.

Service was friendly. Burger was enormous and although a little on the dry side, I was offered sauces which I declined. I couldn't finish the chips. I arrived with the intent of visiting their multinational neighbour and thought I'd give them shot, which I didn't regret. 'Local is lekker!'

This is a great place for a quick bite with big portions and cheap prices! Jacket potato portion is massive : )

Not my 1st trip here. But this time was better than the others. More staff, so attentive. Plus the chicken Kiev meal I had was tasty and cooked well. And the cafe was clean and tidy. Which is great for a Saturday lunch time. I will eat here again.

With Burger King closed I had no choice but butlers. Came here for drinks. Bought a cup of tea, a diet Coke and asked for tap water for the children. The lady behind the till said she'd bring the glasses of water to us. She never came. We reminded her and she sharply said it was busy. The drinks never came. Our children were very sad and thirsty. We'll be going somewhere else for our drinks in future.

Cheap but not certainly not cheerful. Poor moody service and awful food. Ordered a simple bacon sandwich that the morbid waitress didn't seem to understand was on the menu and needed clarification on what a bacon sandwich was. After 10 minutes I was moodily served a lukewarm, craftlessly tossed together sandwich (?) My confusion on this point being that it only seemed to have seen the inside of the toaster for what must have been a maximum of 30 seconds and as such was neither a sandwich or a toastie but a soggy in-between of the two. Not sure why there was an attempt at toasting it all it- neither the menu nor the waitress stated this. The bacon itself inside this sorry and confused excuse for a sandwich was fatty, cheap and also undercooked. What's slightly more galling is that on checking the receipt I'd been charged a 'bacon and egg sandwich'. Minus the egg but for some reason still charged for it which I find to be a distasteful practice. I regularly eat out for breakfast and often enjoy trying new cafes. This is the worst experience I've had bar none and was an awful and disappointing start to a busy day.

Got my food within 10 mins and for £4.50 the fish and chips was to die for! I Will be returning to try their big breakfast, and with more people too!! A calm atmosphere and the staff were friendly enough. Could not get enough of the food. I

Ordered a bacon baguette it arrived by the waitress chucking it on the table. The baguette was flattened and toasted so it looked like a panini and the bacon tasted of absolutely nothing. To top that off no butter on the baguette and it was as dry as a bone. I would not recommend this place it has to be the worst bacon baguette I have ever had!

Ordered from Deliveroo. Don’t think I would ever again. My gammon was bland and the egg overcooked. Their peas were unpleasant to eat too! Only the pineapple slice was okay. Price is on the cheaper side for breakfast but don’t bother.

Needed a quick lunch before driving to London later that afternoon. Loads of menu choices. Decided on ham and cheese omelette and chips. Tasty, generous portion withh fast and friendly service

Decent food at pretty good prices. I'm a carer and my client enjoys the occasional lunch here, otherwise I wouldn't bother. The staff are usually miserable and I have to ask for someone to wipe our filthy table down every single time, even when there are staff members standing about chatting. That said, we encountered a lovely young women there today who we hadn't seen before. Not only was she much friendlier than all of the other staff, she also appeared to be doing more work than the rest of the front of house staff combined. If this place got more staff like her (Hannah, I believe), it could be a great little spot.

Customer service wasn’t good food not to bad

Really really dry fish with hard batter seemed like it was there for ages. Chips were okay.

First time of visiting but have noted always busy when we’ve passed by several times in the past. As we were uninspired by Debenhams restaurant we decided to give Butlers Cafe a try. Took one of three available tables. Food smelt delicious as entered the seating area. Menu explains the set up. We ordered 2 roast beef dinners and a kids chicken nuggets chips and peas. Roasts were £6.50 ish from memory, kids meals all priced £2.50. Bottles of coke £1.80 each. Food arrived after 10-15 minute wait. Kids meal HUGE....I might well order this next time. Roast was a real plateful. Three big slices of meat, lots of veg and roasties. Gravy homemade. As we saw the people behind us ordering pancakes we decided to share a dessert. IT WAS HUGE. Two big pancakes covered in whipped cream with two portions of ice cream on top and chocolate sauce. Nice. We were all stuffed upon departure. Would recommend and will be eating there again when in Broadmead Galleries shopping centre.

Was going to order two large breakfasts however they refused to swap hash browns for chips which I believe to be a fair request. That didn’t bother me but felt the whole level of service to be lacking any quality and person service was quite abrupt. As a result I decided to walk out and and now sat in the Commercial Rooms enjoying a breakfast that is not only cheaper, it has service that it miles above and also with the added comfort of sitting in front of the open fire. Fact is I haven’t used Butlers before but I certainly will not be using them in future. Congratulations you’ve lost my business

The food was really appalling & came out to us cold & the burgers was burnt we spoke with afew over costomers & thay said the same & left all there food. Wouldn't recommend to anyone to eat there. Staff was very rude to us aswell.

Visité este café después de haber sido desilusionado por M & S - hizo cola durante 30 minutos y me dijeron que no tenían ingredientes para el desayuno. De todos modos, nos sentimos atraídos por el letrero en este café que decía "con una cara amigable" lo más rápido posible. Así que pedimos 2 desayunos grandes y esperamos un servicio rápido y feliz. Bueno, llegó 30 minutos después con una cara sardónica y la frase disfruta! ¿La tostada apenas estaba chamuscada y tenía mantequilla por ambos lados? Las salchichas eran muy marrones por fuera pero pálidas por dentro, suponiendo que estaban cocinadas en una freidora de grasa profunda, había muy poco sabor aparte de la grasa. Los dos huevos fritos estaban duros y fríos. El tocino era similar a la tostada, pero tenía un tinte más oscuro pero los papas fritas eran comestibles. Los frijoles eran como los huevos fríos pero sorprendentemente sabrosos. Dejó la mayor parte del desayuno en el plato y lo que se consumió se repitió en nosotros durante la mayor parte del día. Quedó desconcertado de por qué este café estaba tan ocupado y el personal aparentemente se les escapó. Simplemente no es nuestro día para un desayuno en Bristol.

Very slow service. My friends meal didnt come out the same time and I managed to eat my meal before they got round to it. Had to go up and ask for his meal to be made. Food was OK. wouldn't go again.

Fuimos a mayordomos debido a otro establecimiento que no tiene los ingredientes completos del desayuno.Tuve un desayuno grande y encontré todo muy razonable, incluido el precio.Mi compañero tenía la lasaña y ensalada y estaba muy satisfecha con su elección.Las bolsitas de té son de una calidad premium que también fue agradable de ver.Las mesas y las áreas para comer estaban limpias. El personal fue muy amable.Hace un cambio refrescante para encontrar comidas a precios razonables en un patio de comidasNo me puedo quejar de nada.

Nos topamos con este lugar cuando buscamos un almuerzo rápido. Tenía bacalao y papas fritas, mi compañero tenía papa al horno con atún - 4. 50 cada uno, ambos se sirvieron bastante rápido y ambos fueron muy agradables. La cafetería estaba limpia y el servicio era amable y eficiente. Muy bueno para un almuerzo rápido y económico.

Decidimos ir aquí en Bristol durante el día ya que el lugar parecía bastante popular en comparación con otros restaurantes en este patio de comidas, lo que nos hizo asumir que la comida era buena. La comida se sirve rápido y es barata. Los panqueques americanos (creo que fueron calentados en el microondas) eran bastante agradables, servidos con crema de leche, "jarabe de arce" (sabor a jarabe dorado ...) y una rodaja de limón. Otra comida que se sirve a mi familia (pescado y patatas fritas) tenía patatas fritas crudas y pescado demasiado cocido. Intenté un chip y estaba crudo. Este lugar estaba lleno de otras personas a las que les gusta mirar, estábamos sentados en la esquina y charlando antes de que nuestra comida fuera servida, pero no estábamos en voz alta. Poco recomendable cuando tratas de comer tu comida. Personalmente, calificaría a Butlers como 2 en función de nuestra experiencia reciente.

Very nice big breakfast and good price.

Llevé a mi nieta aquí para tomar un café y un danés. El personal fue muy atento y servicial ya que tenía muchas maletas, un niño pequeño y una silla de paseo para arreglar antes de poder sentarme. Tronas disponibles. Sin tonterías cuando dicho niño decidió arrojar la mitad de su comida a todas partes, la mesera simplemente barrió el piso silenciosamente y se retiró como un ninja. El lugar estaba impecable también.

Myself and colleagues stopped here for lunch ordered a Chicken Kiev when it came it had been fried to death and looked literally burnt I said to the waitress that I would like another one that was far too burnt for me. The waitress came back and told me that the chef told her that they all looked like that and I should choose something else from the menu and walked off. I chose to get my money back and have nothing from there. A few days later we went for lunch and decided to give Butlers one last chance. I ordered a bareakfast only when it cme then beans were cold so I sent it back only for the breakfast to come with fresh toast but the beans were still cold so I left them on the plate. Would not recommend eating here.
