We arrived for pre theatre meal to a practically empty restaurant and yet still none of the staff were able to attend our table. The very young waitress with fake eyelashes was under the influence of something and unable to answer any questions and just pulled strange faces and turned her back to us whilst trying to find another staff member to serve us. The man, I assume was the manager, was attending to the only other table in the restaurant with another waiter hovering beside him. When the manager was able to come to our table I did question if he was the only one able to serve and what his other staff did. The food was mediocre and the tempura veg included deep fried nori and potato which were unpleasant. Sushi was overly salty and included fluorescent green roe atop several rolls. The food was mediocre but the ambience and service were bad.

The food was very mediocre. One of the dishes we ordered was cod and it was really bad. The service was absolutely rubbish. When we sat in, no one attended to us for a long time I’m talking about over 20 mins. Then they served food super slow. No one came and served us apart from putting food on our table. We then asked to get our cheque and the server was so rude and didn’t even acknowledge us. She then came back with a bill and threw the bill on our table. At this point we were already really mad. We asked them to take the service charge out as the service was added automatically in London. I never asked anyone to take service charge out so you can imagine how bad the service was. She then didn’t say anything and stomped off. Then her manager came and asked us why we decided to do this in a really aggressive tone. We gave him the reasons and he was like we’re a fine dining restaurant so you expect food to be served slowly. He didn’t address to our main point which was the rudeness of the staff. And this is not a fine dining restaurant, anyone can check their menu. If he thinks this was fine dining apparently he’s never been to fine dining. If he thinks this was fine dining, the service isn’t not anywhere near a fine dining restaurant. I’ve been to so many fine dining restaurants myself and none of the restaurants treated us like absolutely nothing. And the way he argued with us is also what you don’t expect from any restaurant fine dining or not. This was definitely the worst restaurant service I’ve ever had so far. I will never return or recommend anyone coming to this rubbish place.

Plenty of choices for sushi around this area but Pham s consistently at the top of its game, great fresh food and service that is always fast and good. Recommend this place

Really good food and knowledgeable staff . The food was quick and tasty. Great menu . Almost gave 5 stars just not quite that but great nonetheless

I used to use this place as a business lunch/dinner venue on a regular basis, after I had returned from 5 years living in Asia. It was pretty comparable to most Japanese restaurants, even in Japan. Sashimi, sushi, and tempura were all excellent. Only mild grip this time was the beef was not very tender. The atmosphere was pretty buzzy and earlier on the restaurant was nearly full.

Although we were here late on a Friday evening and the staff clearly couldn’t wait to kick us out - the food was the freshest and most delicious I’ve ever eaten. I’d definitely recommend- just don’t be the last to leave!!

Es un restaurante japonés grande de corte tradicional. Todo está bueno, nada es excepcional, pero todo es lo que tiene que ser. No hay fusiones ni innovaciones. japonés convencional y de los de antes, aunque de un tamaño grande, inusual. Pero sales satisfecho porque te has tomado un buen sushi. Las gambas tempura con salsa cremosa están buenas y es abundante la ración.

The food was great, but the service was average. They were very unfriendly trying to get us out after selling us another bottle of wine. They could have let us know that they were closing soon and we wouldn't have been buying more wine. It felt greedy and uncomfortable towards the end from the whole crew. Constantly checking us out from afar if we're already leaving. Not a great ending. The music was also too loud.

Wonderful ambience and décor. So fresh sashimi and totally delicious other dishes. I couldn't fault a thing. I highly recommend it if you are in the area.

Well prepared sushi and decent sashimi. Service was efficient But the waiter asked for a tip on top of the 12.5% “service charge” on the bill ie they asked for a tip on top of a tip. By way of explanation, the waiter said that service staff don’t receive this as it’s kept by management. Either way - this reflects badly on the management if true - or staff for asking if it’s not.

The best sushi place I have ever been. It’s a very executive place that it is not that well known outside of that. You can eat really well for a very fair amount of money. Loved the food and also loved how friendly the staff was. I will definitely be back

We were going to the Barbican and doe to traffic we were latt getting to the restaurant. The staff were very helpful and although we only had time for sashimi and sushi we found the dishes were delicious. We would definitely go again.

We visited this restaurant in the evening, where we had booked a table in advance. The staff were very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The service was quick but we were disappointed that the cocktails, listed on the menu, were not available. The food was great, in particular, the different sushi rolls and deluxe dessert.

We love Pham Sushi. Have been visiting for years for various occasions, often visit with clients, with friends and for the last two years have even been for Valentine's Day meal with my partner. Our most recent visit was Valentine's Day this year. My online booking for some reason did not appear in their system but their lovely staff accommodated us regardless even though it was a busy night! The waiters are all very polite, helpful and attentive, I know a few have been there for a long time now, which is great to see. We had the rock shrimp tempura to start which is one of our favourite dishes, it never disappoints. We had an array of sushi rolls after this, all so fresh, absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We had a fantastic meal, of course, we over ordered so we had some to take home too, which is never a bad thing! Overall the cost was not bad for what we had. Another great meal, thank you!!

We found this restaurant on Tripadviser when looking for somewhere near the Barbican Centre for a pre-theatre meal. A few minutes walk from Moorgate station. We chose the pre-theatre set menu at £25 each. Miso soup and endame to start followed by a large plate of very tasty shashimi and a sushi selection plus a glass of wine. We also shared some ice cream (green tea plus sesame). All was beautifully presented and tasted very good. Service excellent . Would recommend.

We visited tonight for our wedding anniversary, as we used to love Pham Sushi at their Whitecross Street location: intimate setting, friendly and attentive service, great food. This new location is not as nice: it seems chain-like and dull . Prices have gone up too - and though the sushi was tasty, the vegetable tempura was bland and under-seasoned and the batter was flabby, and the Tori Katsudon had no flavour at all. When the waiter asked how our food was and we told him, he didn’t apologise, basically blaming us for ordering wrongly! This was particularly annoying, as we pointed out we’d enjoyed both dishes (described exactly the same) at Whitecross Street. Perhaps this new venue has teething problems - certainly, some waiters seemed confused as to who had ordered what - but the chef also appears to have changed for the worse. Overall, a disappointing experience. We used to be regulars, but I’m afraid we won’t be returning.

We stopped in on Pham Sushi for a slightly rushed meal before a party. They were very accommodating, bring our order very quickly and efficient with the bill but... It’s the food we’re really interested in! We had tuna/salmon sashimi and salmon/avo inside out rolls. All really fresh and tuna melted in the mouth. I’d definitely go back for a less rushed meal! I wasn’t 100% sold on the ambiance but may be clouded by not having much time.

Just wanted to get a bite to eat before the theatre (Barbican) and came across this small restaurant. Extremely impressed with the food and service. Between the four of us we had a wide selection of food and all were happy with their meals. Pressure tends to be on when you have to be quick but the service was great. Will be returning.
