Pex Fish and Chips in Waveney

The fish was the best I have had in a long time. Big and chunky and cooked to perfection. Enjoyed the chips and the curry sauce was lovely too

We had planned a fish and chip supper for visiting family but unfortunately our usual fish and chip shop was closed so opted for Pex rather than travel further afield. Batter on cod was way over cooked and very dark when it should have been a nice golden colour. Spring roll burnt. Sausage awful. Cooking fat tasted old. Sadly would not recommend this takeaway. We used to use Pex years ago but it seemed to go downhill so switched to Mermaid which is far superior. Felt bad as family as we wanted to treat them.

Looks like any other high street fish and chip shop. Excellent value, friendly service and good quality fish cooked to order. Beats Southwold in terms of value and quality every time.

would travel to Southwold rather than here, very greasy and tasteless and expensive for what you get

Went in lunchtime i asked if there was a smallest piece of fish she could fry me i explained i had stomach cancer limited capacity , was met by contempt she said no small pieces in here eyes so i left , they have wet fish in there could have cut a bit off the tail end of something but didnt want to help . I just moved here so will use the other chip shop

Don't have fish and chips that often now but when I do I go to Pex. Great tasting, always well cooked and friendly service. A treat!

We came on a Tuesday evening and the large fish was non existent and had been repeatedly overheated and fried. In fact the batter looked black. Just terrible quality and quantity we will not be returning.

We have used Pex fish and chip shop on a number of occasions and have generally been satisfied. However we went in on a Monday night and got one cod and one haddock with chips to take away. Unfortunately, when we got home we discovered everything was hard and dry as if it had been repeatedly reheated. This should not have been served and was very disappointing. I hope this is a reflection of the slow time of business and have no doubt this would not occur on a Friday / Saturday night. Nevertheless, if they value their customers and their reputation, this should not be allowed to happen.

The best fish and chip shop around, always fresh and hot straight out of the pan, sometimes you do have to wait for your item to be cooked but that’s a good thing, very friendly staff, very good quality produce, local fish, sausages and potatoes. We enjoy this so much we now have it once a week as we just can’t resist. Highly recommend.

We went in for dinner as we were camping nearby. No queue on a Friday early evening, quick service and the food was well priced with fair portions. We all really enjoyed it and I'd go back if I was in the area again.

I love the fish from here it’s so chunky and cooked really well, the batter is lovely and the staff are really friendly too. Especially use this chippy on a Friday night.

The food here is always nice, the fish & fishcakes are really lovely as well as the chips. The portion sizes are very good and they are not skimped on at all. Definitely our favourite chippy

We recently visited here for food whilst camping near by. We had first gone to a local pub who turned out not to have food, so by the time we arrived here it was getting late and cold and we were starving! Without us saying anything, they guessed that we were camping and knew that it was quite a walk back to the site. They then asked if it would help to eat our food there and quickly produced some tables and chairs for us! The food was amazing, all really fresh and delicious but what struck us was what great, friendly and helpful people work there. Absolutely recommend a visit here.

We often have fish and chips from here, in our opinion they're the best around. They also do gluten free fish and chips on a Tues evening and my husband says they're definitely the best in this area and he has tried several different places. I don't have gluten free but I agree that the 'normal' fish and chips are certainly very good, well worth a visit.

Hubby came here a few nights ago to get some chips for tea, he was served quite quickly and they were still nice and hot when he got home. The portion size was just right and they were very tasty. We shall continue to use you, best in the area.

Large portions but strange colour batter and in my opinion far to crispy. Fish was not that flakey and over cooked. Fast service because the fish was all pre cooked and in the hot cabinet. Price was reasonable

Well what can you say about a Fish And Chip shop , the fish is always good chips can be a bit hard when frying new potatoes , sausages , are good oh and don't forget the crispies

Visited many a time and never disappointed. Arrived near to closing time one night and had to wait while the proprietor filleted a fish to fulfil my order. Don't see that everyday !
