Good venue. Decent food and the outside area is nice. Staff however have a significant attitude problem (the blonde female in particular) They frequently they moan about having to make drinks or serve shots. They now refuse to sell more shots than the people at your table (I.e 2 people can only buy 2 shots) Pubs are closing at a rapid rate in the UK sadly, staff attitude tends to be the reason…

Blast from the past! I visited Pews on the regular about 15 years ago when I was at college in town and it's barely changed. Good music, great beers and still love the little courtyard space out back.

Love Pews on a Friday with live music and outdoor bar, great vibes. The fire burners make it very cozy and it's quick service for a drink.

Great IPAs served by very friendly staff. We ordered food from boring burger via the QR code on the table. Really delicious! Generous portions of chips so next time I'd probably order less than one portion per person.

Good place. They had Amazon sports on and there was a monkey in the wall in the toilets. Didn't have any food. Not because of the monkey though.

Live music and atmosphere was very good

We popped in here for a couple of drinks before a meal. The service was excellent. Drinks are a decent price and they serve cocktails on tap. There was plenty of space to sit even with the inside being renovated. It got busier as the evening got a bit later and there was a good atmosphere and crowd. Would definitely recommend.

What a find! Big screens where you’d want them, brilliant food, fantastic selections of IPAs and other beers. Good Vibes!

An amazing and energetic atmosphere, with a range of people. Inside and outside seating available, with reasonably priced drinks, compared with its competitors.

I visited on a wet, rainy evening and was drenched on arrival. It was so nice to be welcomed in by a friendly member of staff. (There is a handdryer in the ladies room, which I used to dry my hair off!) As a vape user, I was dreading going outside and getting rained on again, but discovered a large covered courtyard out the back.... covered being the big positive on this particular evening 🤭 However, the cover is removed during nice weather, apparently. The courtyard was littered with heaters, thankfully. It is also much larger than the pub itself! The only thing to be aware of is the vaping can only be done at the entrance to the covered outside area...... I'd definitely go back again.... Great staff, great location and great facilites

Quiet in the week, buzzing at weekends. Really good place for drinks. You can order food from the food outlets upstairs and next door!

Great atmosphere, I like that's it's 21 and over on weekends. Great for football. Outside bar and inside bar. It's expensive but no more than most bars in Guildford and it's the best place to watch sport in town. I have been told the food is good but I haven't had it personally. I would however avoid on student night (Wednesday) unless of course you are a student.

Great bar for the football and food. Friendly bar staff. Spacious and comfortable outdoor area. The food from boring burger is amazing. Live music every Friday evening. Visited this place this evening, working away from home and would recommend a visit. Boring burger offer a deal with a burger , chips and the option of a soft drink or alcoholic. Try it!

Friendly staff, has a nice feel

Great place to meet with friends which is what we did on Saturday night, sadly however, whilst arriving to the pub courtyard, my wife had her arm bruised by one of the waitresses who used her foot to kick open the door with such force that it bruised my wife's arm causing her much discomfort for most of the evening. The waitress apologised and my wife accepted her apology, as her husband, I wanted to warn anyone walking through the alley to get to the courtyard, to avoid walking anywhere close to the doorway, especially during their busy period.

What a fantastic bar! I love the courtyard and the live music on a Friday is always a brilliant vibe! Great mix of drinks for any night you're choosing to have. Staff are friendly, Charlotte in particular was a pleasure. She went over and beyond and made our night. We will be returning for the drag bottomless Bruch for sure!

Women behind the bar with dark red hair was rude to me when I asked when they opened

This is one of my favourite bars for the ambience and friendly staff and excellent service. Yet to try the burgers but they look amazing!

I came here for my partners birthday, I went to the bar to order my last and second drink, however I was handed a drink with the incorrect mixer. I apologised to the bar maid and told her this wasn’t what I ordered and she was very rude, she told me this was definitely what I ordered and was quite aggressive towards me, I apologised again and told her I don’t drink the mixer provided and she was very rude and did not take no for an answer, she told me she wouldn’t have this conversation and I was rude in telling her it was wrong. I left feeling very offended and poorly treated, I work in hospitality and would never be rude about an incorrect order as I’ve made many myself. She was one of two staff working and could have handled the situation without being rude. The other member of staff was lovely and very accommodating.

Good atmosphere and busy. We were outside and it is much better for smokers than non-smokers unfortunately

Great ambience with the outdoor setting. Tried a strawberry cider and it was absolutely amazing!

Nice location, average beer selection. Watched half the football on a large screen. Sadly drug control needs looking at- blocked bathroom door multiple times with multiple men coming out at a time passing to one another.

I really like this bar but after going in for a few drinks on Saturday I'm not sure how soon we'll be returning. The staff were lovely and we got a good seat for the footy but £12.50 for two pints of lager is ridiculous! I'd expect to pay that in a pub in Mayfair. I dread to think how much their wines/cocktails are. No wonder people are choosing to drink at home these days. Many pubs are simply pricing people out.

I hired the function room for a surprise birthday and everyone had an amazing time. The bar is laid back, fun and unpretentious. Thanks so much to Charlotte, Matt and the bar staff for making everything go smoothly. We had an epic night :-) I would highly recommend.

I love this place, especially the courtyard area. The management are very polite and are more than happy to make a Hot Toddy if needed.

Important Info: It's over 21s only!! Reserved a table, only to arrive and be told that they would not serve us as the bar is over 21s only. This was not mentioned over the phone and is not mentioned on the homepage of their website. Hope this helps anyone else trying to find a nice pub with friends in Guildford!

Nice seating area but unwelcoming vibe and seems to be a bit clicky

The outbside bar area is a good set up for sport, and the food is nice. Unfortunately when my six friends and I ordered seven individual drinks through their app, one each, as the drinks arrived we were told by the waiting staff; "my bar staff told me to tell you, if you order again, don't order seven separate drinks". I'm left wondering which of my friends I tell not to have the drink they want...

Great atmosphere in Pews always, but especially when there are major footballing events on! Table service for drinks and even the kebab shop next door, just scan a QR code and get a pitta shortly afterwards!! Pews is a Vibe!

Wow. What a rude stuff. The ladies where rude to me and my group of friends since we got there. I know it can be stressful sometimes when it’s busy but C’mon guys, for the price we pay the minimum we deserve it to be treated nice. Please please make the waitress wear some less revealing clothes… It’s quite uncomfortable seeing someone’s butt all the time. Overall it’s a lovely place to hang out apart from the stuff. ❤️

Nice place to have a drink, they've got a great set up outside especially with the current regulations. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and found us a table straight away. Good to be back and their app was easy to use to order drinks

Dingy little place with a great outdoors area. Everything is a bit run down but the staff are lovely and the drinks good. Fun night out at this little place that you're likely to miss if you didn't know it was there.

Very nice, cosy bar in Central Guildford. Good vibes and open air feel. Shame there closing hours vary over the weekends but overall a good place to go with friends.

I was here at a video game event that is held every three months in Guildford, and the truth is that the place is great, chachi beer, good atmosphere, you can be inside or outside and all the people who serve you are super polite. Of course, pints of beer are expensive, but Guildford is expensive in general, so it's a bit of a deal.

Was so shocked that I was charged £2 for a pint of soda water with no ice I couldn't even bring myself to mention it to the barman. This is free literally every where else, if ever charged, never in excess of £1. Don't think I'll ever be back!

Really chilled bar. Tucked away to the point I would probably have difficulty finding it again. Beers were OK, clientele pretty friendly, and the staff helpful. We had a pleasant, relaxed evening's boozing!

One of the best bars in Guildford. Great staff, Management are always friendly and good drinks choices. Large outside area including private areas that can be booked out and a beer pong table as well! Live music on Friday nights.

Very nice Greek food. No TVs in the rear court yard and it was a bit dark inside, but the staff were nice.

6 people behind one bar and only 2 people knew the difference between cabernet sauvignon and cabernet blanc. Standing by the bar but the it took a lot of time for the 6 people to finish talking to friends to get to taking the order. Decent place though.

I stumbled on this place walking around Guildford and ended up going in for a few drinks. This place looks like its really setup for the summer with the courtyard. they also show sports as well so can watch the football as well. There is a good selection of drinks and snacks but for some you need to go into the inside bar to get them like Guinness and bar snacks.

Always great fun. The outdoor space is lovely.

Great pub for all sporting events, great area outside too with a big screen and the option to hire a VIP section, I wouldn't advise this if it was red hot, seen people in there literally COOKING!!

The coolest little bar. The courtyard out the back is such a great place to have a drink with friends. Not the biggest inside and is very popular so get there early.

Avoid - management are rude and insulting. Wont be returning, there are far better bars and clubs in Guildford go esewhere

Great stuff but get good as t determing if you have ad enough. Ordered a coke because I don't like water and wouldn't serve me 😑 I'm not asking for alcohol asking for a soda. Other than that they are lovely

i came to pews tonight (21st april) and i was met by the most wonderful members of staff, they all seemed so happy to help and served with a smile, will be going back to see the girls who served me, wonderful pub, keep the good work!

Went in on Friday night for some casual drinks with friends. On the wall there was information of an offer of £12 for a house bottle of wine all day on a Friday. However when going to the bar we were told that the offer was only valid until 9pm not all day as stated. Upon pointing out at there was a poster on the wall next to the bar that said ‘all day’ the only response that the bar staff could give was “that’s what our manager told us”.I could have accepted that this may have been an old poster that hadn’t been taken down but the same poster was up in both the male and female toilets again with the statement of ‘all day’.Staff behind the bar obviously couldn’t care about the customer service they gave and the manager is making a nice profit off falsely advertising offers throughout the pub.Won’t be visiting again.

Popped in at 5.30pm on sat for a drink after shopping. Football was on but no problem with us. Bought 2 drinks and then discovered that the 1 free table (at the back) had a “reserved” sign. In what world can people reserve a table at a pub? Especially in a pub with as few tables as here? We sat down there anyway but were moved on shortly afterwards. We left our half-drinks on the bar and left. We’re Guildford residents and will not go back.
