Excellent quality of food. Varied and very well prepared dishes. We tried many different tapas and the Neapolitan meat Milanese 🙌 everything was excellent!! The warm attention of the waitresses and the kitchen team with its head chef Perfeto, make the difference. Congratulations! We will return and recommend!!

Rarely do I commit to write a full review though following my mid-Spring dinner with my prince consort at his favourite beef place in Surrey, I felt compelled to. Though it is clear he is a regular, we were given our choice of table, away the from the door, in the comfy benches. Suffice to say, the rest of the service was just as attentive and mindful. Both head waitress and servers really made us feel at ease, advised us on food and drinks and regularly smiled in our direction (top table tending!). The lovely blonde lady even kindly turned the cheerful Spanish music up near closing time! The Food? For starters, the empanadas are cooked delicately and they are flavoursome, one of the best I have tried at any Latin place. Then the steak variety and sizes: Carmona offers truly high quality cuts, with both my ribeye adequately fatty -or marbled as my bf says- and his sirloin cooked just as requested, and juicy regardless of the generous chimichurri cup available. The deserts were good yet I would have loved to see a wider and more refined selection. The suggested Argentinian Malbec was a fabulous pairing choice we should get two bottles of next time, though they also have champagne, cocktails and spirits to suit any occasion. Finally, with a half-full restaurant, atmosphere was warm and lively but never loud; good for either couples, solo steak lovers or small groups. Congrats to the whole team, most especially the steaks chef.

There's no other place in Guildford where you can taste a truly fine Argentinian steak, a delicately-crafted beef empanada and a glass of malbec whilst enjoying Latin music and the sparkling smile from the head waitress, all at the same time. Thanks to the grillmaster, Carmona is a great place for beef connoisseurs outside London!

Great food polite and friendly service

This was a spur of the moment choice for a pre-theatre dinner - it's only a minute of two from G-Live. As it was early we were given a choice of tables by the lovely waitress and offered a jug of water while we looked at the menus. We all chose from the set menu which had a selection of 4 starters, 4 mains and 2 desserts at a good price. The starters we chose were all very tasty but we found the Chicken Burgers, though tender and juicy, were a little bland. The Elderflower Spritz mocktails were very refreshing. The restaurant itself was well presented, the seating was very comfortable, and the toilets were sparkling. There were 3 members of staff who served us and all were efficient and friendly. I'd really like to go back and try the tapas.

Hand down the Best Steak in Guildford Town ! 100% Lovely atmosphere and even better service. I have really enjoyed Tira De Ancho, my fiancée was amazed as well and she was not a steak lover, until now :D Amazing treatment from waiting staff and a perfect job from a kitchen team. Thank you

I had an opportunity to visit Carmona, recommended by my friend Taimoor who works there. I must say, the food was fantastic, and i’d love to go back. I highly recommend it.

Good food and drinks and nice staff. It was very quiet when we went in on Saturday lunch time, but we enjoyed ourselves.

Despite not being a steak enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Carmona. The ambiance was inviting, the service was attentive, and the variety of tapas options delighted my taste buds. The drinks were expertly crafted and complemented our meal perfectly. Standout dishes included Gambas al alijo. The staff were friendly and accommodating, creating a memorable dining atmosphere. Overall, a fantastic spot for a night out with friends, even if steaks aren't your thing!

Carmona Steak and Tapas quickly became one of my favorite dining spots. The restaurant's inviting ambiance complements its menu. Each dish I tried was a hit, especially the patatas bravas and the gambas al ajillo which I loved and enjoyed. The service was very friendly and prompt, making the overall experience amazing. Good: rump steaks from adult menu. Churros from adult menu. Not good: Kids’ menu. Burger low quality. Kids’ Argentinian Rump Steak not the same quality as the one on adult menu despite reassurances to the contrary before we ordered. Kids’ churros completely different to adult one - much lower quality. Why do that? Service - some commendable efforts but lack of senior management meant lots of serving staff running around but not taking orders, forgetting stuff. Hard not to feel sorry for them. The 12.5% service charge added to the bill was plain cheeky and I’m sure was not down to the serving staff but - come on. Atmosphere: furniture is tired, quiet for a Friday night, could see table beside us had issues with their orders too. I definitely won’t be back, despite the good steak, which was nicely cooked, because everything else I mentioned outweighs this unfortunately.

I would say Carmona is the best steak house in town. Been to Carmona so many times and they never fail me how amazing their food is 100% recommend to come and try them!!

Oh dear, lots to say about this place… when we came in there was no one at the door, which is fine, but the waiters walking past didn’t even acknowledge us, no smile or a ‘someone will be with you in a minute..’ our waiter didn’t smile once… he also visibly sighed when someone changed their order. Rather unfortunately one of the waiters had really bad BO which you could smell when you entered the restaurant…. The tapas - Pan con tomate was terrible, watery, weak tomatoes so absolutely zero flavour, not even salt could save this, or the copious amount of olive oil it was soaked in. Tomatoes used for this should be of top quality, otherwise just don’t put it on the menu. Meatballs were nice but both ours were cold. Croquettes had no flavour, even the aioli was super weak. Steaks were actually really nice but pretty shocked to be served chips that are clearly frozen and not handmade… Sorry folks….

Great steaks and meats, however on the pricey size for what you get. Service was good but could have been a little more attentive and warm. The restaurant itself was nice but the Atmosphere was a bit flat.

Service was ok, food was not. Chose from the 2 course menu. Cod croquettes for the starter had an essence of cod in them, had to really concentrate to detect any cod. Then the main, sliced beef with chimichurri sauce. Most of the thin strips of meat was uncooked fat and inedible. Pretty gross. I’ve eaten chimichurri many times but this was tasteless and greasy. The chips that came with it were nice I suppose. The waitress asked us if everything was ok with the meal but wasn’t so keen when we mentioned politely (we are British) that the meat was very fatty. The response was that the cut is a fatty cut so basically not interested. I’ve no idea why waiting staff ask is everything ok with your meal if they aren’t interested in the answer! Won’t be returning again which is a shame as it’s position is handy for pre theatre meals.

Honestly this was the worst restaurant experience we've had in a very long time. Litterally every customer was complaining about huge delays and the staff looked completely lost. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for decent food and service.

Poor service, arrived at 8 main course arrived at 10, cold blood on plates as meat not rested correctly. Bernaise sauce more like butter sauce, no targone or white wine vinegar you could taste. Avoid disappointment and find another steak house.

Ordered in food on my friend’s recommendation. He( hassan) works there, he mentioned I ordered the gaucho platter. Not only was it value for money but it’s one of the best steaks I have had in a long time.

Amazing service, fast and friendly. Monica was so helpful and took our dietary needs into consideration, taking extra care for my dad and making sure the allergens were removed from the food. We went for the set menu and the the Picanha steak was outrageously good. You must have the Churros to finish. We will definitely come back, thank you for hosting our birthday meal!

awful! went for valentine's day and the service was ridiculous, £200 near for a 3 hour wait and the wrong steak. 2 of us dined here for valentines and chose the set menu. food was mediocre and service wasn't the best, i feel like serving staff knew it was off from the get go and apologised throughout but kitchen staff are terrible, no times , no consistency at all. ruined my valentines and no i did not pay the £22 service charge added !! Even the couple next to us wish us good luck in being served our full meal, will never return, terrible !

Our first visit to this restaurant and we had high hopes. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Perhaps had we had a more friendly waiter it might have been different, who knows. He was pretty unfriendly, didn’t recommend or upsell sides so when our food arrived it was bland and boring. For the prices I would have expected a bit more than some limp lettuce on the side of the plate. The mash was in a tiny pot and my fillet was very overdone. Our final bill was quite significant but there are far better places with much friendlier staff where I would prefer to spend my cash. Unfortunately won’t try this place again.

The food was very nice. The only thing is, some of the dishes were late and the other guests were waiting for us to get our main meal so their food got cold.

Great restaurant, with delicious food, very nice service and a wonderful atmosphere. My fiancée and I were at Carmona on New Year's Eve, although the restaurant was full and the waitresses were really busy, we received the food and dessert on time and had a wonderful evening. We will definitely come back again and again.

I've eaten twice here now with very different experiences. The first time we has a fantastic experience at this restaurant, both the food and service was excellent. However, I just had a meal on NYE there. The table was booked for 7.30pm. We did not get our main courses until 9.30pm. There was clearly a problem as the meal was so delayed. It is a shame as the experience, second time dining was so different to our first. The quality of food was just as good as the first time, which was good to experience. It was just a shame the service didn't match up. We were offered a complimentary round of drinks and a jug of Sangria was removed from our bill. A slight dissapointment as we were looking forward to celebrating the new year with a quality meal.

The food was great, unfortunately it took over half an hour to get drinks, some people’s food was being delivered before any food! The bar seemed to be in chaos. Once we’d had our main, it took over an hour to even get seen and that’s only when I went to find a server! When given the dessert menu, no communication to inform us of things no longer available, and obviously picked things that weren’t available! Sadly would be a lovely restaurant with great food and drinks, but let down by the disorganisation of the staffing - shame

Oh dear oh dear. Not the way to run a restaurant. Obvious managment failures to be seen. 30 mins for drinks, 1 hour wait for table to be cleared, further 30 minuts for desert to arrive... Staff clueless and just randomly buzzing around with no structure. Terrible.

What a disaster! So I’m not one for negative reviews but when you pay £155 for some badly cooked steak, which arrives without any sides, which turn up 5 minutes later and the steak arrived barely warm, it’s time to say something. We had a lovely waitress but it took about half an hour for our initial drinks to arrive. Our glasses were dirty, the adjacent table sent their glasses back too, the plates were covered in grease and whilst the staff were working hard, the entire evening from a food standards and service standards view was nothing short of dreadful. Such a shame. The chimmichura steak sauce (£2.45) was a pot of grease, the fillet steak was woefully undercooked and arrived stone cold, the calamari was naff and the aioli served in a pot that was dirty. Our wine was poured with pieces of cork appearing in the glass, the ‘salad’ that we ordered was 8 lettuce leaves thrown on the end of a plate but when it came to pudding it was actually good. Will we ever go back? £155 for an awful eating experience with really poor service and sub standard food on dirty plates - no we won’t go back. Such a shame, I’m a big fan of steak and value great service but this was genuinely poor. Onwards and upwards.

Absolutely delicious steak! Shared a steak mixed platter for two which was perfectly seasoned and tender. Had this alongside 3 tapas plates between the two of us. Looking forward to going again!

This was a difficult one to judge, the rump steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare. The steak knife I was given would struggle to cut melting butter so that made it look like the steak was not right when it was the knife. The chips were reheated from the day before and were awful and drenched in salt which I never put on any of my food. I was so annoyed at having to eat the beef without the chips I had made my mind up there would be no tip. Bill time came and they had decided to add just over £5 of a tip for themselves. I questioned the gratuity that had been added and was told that would be removed. She did that and said that she would not be able to remove any of the charges for inedible chips as it is included in the price of the steak. I did not wish to make a fuss which I would have had every right to do as the chips could not be eaten. If the steak had not been so good this would have been a 1 star.

I am a well travelled person and have dined is different Spanish towns and cities for many years. The food and service here is very good, as a single female diner the attentive service was great. The food was absolutely delicious with a great menu choice. I am so full I need to go and lie down, the food was so good I couldn’t leave anything, thank you.

We had a lovely evening with excellent food and great service. It was our wedding anniversary, and to make it special, the host gave us complimentary champagne which was such a lovely touch. We had a variety of tapas and dessert. Everything was just *perfect*, couldn't have asked for a better night. We forgot to take photos of the tapas as we wolfed them down 🥹 We will definitely be back, thanks to the team for making our night extra special 💗 Side note: I like that the tip is added to the bill for me, I think it takes away from the pressure of knowing how much to tip. I know not everyone likes this, but I personally do.

Reasonable copies of Spanish tapas

I’ve eaten here many times before, used to be really good. The biggest problem by far is the service, it’s just way too slow. It doesn’t take 65 minutes to cook a steak. Then they have the audacity to slide in on the quiet a ridiculous tip (that is not earned) that you have to ask to remove. The food is still pretty decent, but for such prices the service should be amazing and it just leaves me feeling ripped off.

Staff were friendly and the food arrived quickly. Unfortunately the quality of the food wasn't great, its clear that lots of the items on the menu are bought in frozen and then heated. I could tell this because the inside of the empanadas were freezing cold in the middle. I think it's a poor show when a kitchen can't even reheat food properly. Our £50 would have been spent better at tacobell across the road.

Where to begin…….I had high expectations due to the impressive menu on offer. 3 of us ordered tapas, the other 3 ordered steaks. Of the 12 tapas dishes ordered, we only received 9 of them. Though apparently they all tasted nice. The steaks arrived when our friends had nearly finished their tapas. We then had to wait 5+ minutes for the accompanying dishes for the steaks to arrive, of which only half arrived, and then a couple of minutes later the rest. By which time the steaks were cold. Would I come back again……..I think I would, just because it may have been an off night. Though reading others reviews, it seems to be hit and miss as to the quality of service received.

I'm 75 years old. I had the worst fillet steak Ive had in my life. I left most of it on the plate. The staff didn't pick up on the fact that I had left it. As I was a guest of a friend I didn't complain as I thought it might be embarrassing.

I enjoyed the food, and they sell a good German lager (despite the memes). The service was slow and a little clueless but they are very young and sweet so probably just under-trained. And I shouldn’t expect the world from somewhere opposite a Taco Bell! 🔔

It was a pleasant atmosphere, friendly welcome. Service needed chasing as slow, but staff friendly. The restaurant was busy but not full. The steaks were tasty (though pricey would expect them to be!). Chicken skewers very average, sent back twice firstly cold, then dry. Tapas good but again expensive at around £8 each. I wouldn’t return as thought the quality of the food didn’t warrant the price. But if you want a good steak and don’t mind paying a premium then go for it.

Me and my family visited for my sisters birthday. We were instantly greeted with a VERY squeaky door (so loud we thought it was an alarm that made us jump - needs some WD40!). We were greeted very quickly, but were originally going to be seated by the door... I'll let everyone in on a secret - you will only be seated upstairs upon request! We were asked if we wanted water for the table, only to be served a very expensive glass bottle (which certainly wasn't expected). We ordered drinks that arrived pretty quickly. Unfortunately I ordered a cocktail that had too much syrup in it setting my throat on fire... But everyone else enjoyed their drinks so I guess I just had bad luck! Food was about average on arrival time, but was good quality. We had a mixture between burgers, chicken and Tapas dishes. Very good quality, but massively overpriced. As always, I have to rate the toilets - i have ti give credit as they have very good quality toilets with nice hotel vibes. Tiled floors and marble sink countertops. However, I think the worst part of this experience was adding forced gratuity onto the bill. We would've happily added gratuity, but felt a bit off with it being forced, especially at a hefty 12%. The service was very minimum effort with barely any conversation or friendliness, so didn't feel 12% was actually deserved! Overall, the experience was completely average, so if you have the money to splash then it may be worth a visit, but its not somewhere I would visit a second time.

You know you’ve got a good steak when you don’t need to chuck a load of sauce or seasoning on it to make it special! I’ve been out to plenty of steak restaurants, paid far more, and been far less satisfied. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was both professional and personable. They make a killer negroni too! ✌️

If you want the best steaks in Surrey, this is where to go. And the entire experience (staff, wine, dessert) is above all other establishments in the region.

We have been here three times now with mixed results. First two times were quite good. This time service was slow, we waited an age for our drinks, food came in drips and drabs. Our drinks had so much ice in them there was hardly...

Went on a Saturday night when it was packed so we understood it was going to take a while. However, in the nearly 90 minutes that we were there for: our order was placed, our drinks arrived, (approx.) 4 tables were cleared and set up, the food for the table on our right arrived, the food for the table to our left started arriving (despite arriving later than us), but our food... didn't. Ended up paying £2.99 for a bottle of coke and being told there was a 'mix-up' in the kitchen. (Not sure if it's also worth to mention but we were Asian and the customers being served were white...)

Poor service Drinks arrived 45 mins after ordeing .starters didn't arrive together, steak platter for 2 arrived cold & was told by the waiter that the kitchen had run out of clean plates.this was not worth £50 per head. Will not be dining here again.

I booked a table for ten people at this branch of Carmona yesterday evening to celebrate a colleague’s 50th birthday. Monika and the team looked after us really well (thank you) and the food was delicious. Great steak and tapas! Highly recommended.

Completely overpriced (£75 for 2 main courses and one non-alcoholic drink). Menus were really dirty. My companion ordered a 200g steak and I ordered a 250g. The extra 50g was all gristle. My steak was supposed to be medium but was less cooked than my...

Very disappointed, my friend ordered a medium rare sirloin, it came medium to well done, I ordered a rump rare, when it arrived there was a little blood on the plate, I cut into the middle to see how cooked it was and blood just poored out of it, it had been not left to rest and it was over cooked, I had to ask for another plate to put my stake on as there was so much blood my plate, it looked like stake soup. Also the stake had no flavour, (all ran out with the blood) as we were going to the theatre there was not time to send it back. The chips and the sweet potato fries were both frozen and not fresh. Sorry but a stake restaurant should know a stake !!

We live in West Drayton and visited Guildford yesterday for Xmas shopping and to see at G9. We decided to have dinner early and went to Carmona which was cold inside and heated only by small fans. We ordered 2 rib-eye steaks which spoiled by the fact that the plates were cold as was the room. They also charged a gratuity without telling us before payment??? Not very impressed!!!

Going to be honest.. table is wobbly on the raised tier. Staff were friendly but guy following a server was a bit creepy. Just had a bad vibe about it, perhaps shadowing. Steaks cooked perfectly and tapas we had was good. Egg chips and ham was great. However the atmosphere is lacking, the lights are too bright on the top tier. The forced tip they add is never a plus in my book. Also buy some decent glasses for your cocktails... at the prices, you can afford to spend 50 pounds on some nice glasses.

First time eating at this restaurant, staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food was fantastic. Lovely setting and atmosphere. Slightly more expensive than your usual restaurant but overall a great place to have a meal. 🙂

Friendly welcome, speedily shown to a table despite not booking in advance. The food was tasty, all of the steaks were cooked to perfection.
