First time at the Petticoat Vintage Tearoom today. The service was friendly, the tearoom was clean and well presented, we didn't have to wait too long for our food, our sandwiches were well filled and tasty, our cakes were delicious, there was lashings of tea and the prices were good. Love it! We'll be back!

Food is good and the price is reasonable. However, we were recently told that a 10% surcharge will now be added to the bill if you stay longer than 2 hrs! Apparently, according to the staff/owner, this is common place in hospitality. My friend and I always buy food and drinks and sometimes haven’t met for a couple of weeks (we have lots to catch up on) so on most occasions we can be there over 2 hrs. If the cafe was ever full and the table was needed we would absolutely respect this and leave but it never has been whilst we have been in!! Unfortunately, this made my friend and I feel unwelcome and it’s not the first time remarks have been made about how long we were there. Considering how hard it is keeping hospitality businesses open I am astounded by this move. If we were nursing one drink each for the whole time I could understand but that is not the case. There are many more cafes to frequent in Grantham which is exactly what we now intend to do.

Not a barista to be seen! What you get is a nod to nostalgia and lovely food, great service and offering very good value. Have vowed to go more often to support small independent businesses such as this.

Our children bought us gift vouchers for afternoon tea here. Our first time visiting Petticoats, and what a lovely experience it was too. The afternoon tea was delicious, fresh and tasty, and we couldn't finish it all. No problem, they packed the leftover cake into little boxes for us to take home. The tea room itself is lovely, all 1940s vintage, old adverts, photographs and newspaper cuttings from the 40s, real tablecloths and waitresses in pinafores. Really recommend it.

Afternoon tea for 2 - £33 I was brought gift vouchers for Afternoon tea for my 50th birthday last year. Due to time, I didn't get around to going and asked if I could collect a take away yesterday the 1.11 . This was all fine and I collected at 11 as agreed. Well.. what a disappointment 😞. The value of my vouchers was £33 and what I recieved for this money was terrible, I was so disappointed. The ham in the sandwiches was plastic pretend ham, plastic cheese! The egg and tuna was good though, I enjoyed them. The scones where awful, tasted doughy and sticky, not like a scone should be, couldn't eat them, in the bin they went. The cakes for 2 people to share, weren't that nice either. The carrot cake was delicious the lemon cake obviously brought from morrisons was nice, but the other 2 velvet and god knows what it was, was terrible as well.. no taste and no flavour. I feel my friends wasted their money!

I arrived rather late for lunch. i was told that they had stopped serving food, then she said actually we're quite quiet, what would you like, and lovely lunch and coffee soon arrived. I paid and left in a hurry to meet up with friends, and later realized I'd left a bag behind. when I phoned the lovely lady arranged to drop it at the hotel where I was staying, several miles away. Brilliant service and good food.

Thank you so much for a perfect 60th birthday party. The room looked amazing and the food was delicious. I especially loved being able to drink endless cups of tea whilst talking to all my friends and dancing to Kelly's fantastic singing. I am looking forward to eating more cake today as there was so much food!

It was so lovely to feel like we had stepped back in time, the decor is gorgeous, all the details are delightful, even the waitresses in their vintage aprons. Highly recommend the persian lemon cake, and the chocolate milkshake. Service was brilliant and we will be back.

What an amazing little find, popped into Grantham for personal visit and decided to look for lunch and tripped over this little treat. I challenge you all to find a better omelette, we both had one which were absolutely amazing. We also couldn't leave without some take away cake! Thank you all so much.

2023.04.24 I enjoyed my sausage bap and pot of coffee, as usual. However: When I took a photograph of a group of French ladies - with THEIR 'phone - the manager came out and was rude to me, saying (from ten yards away) that she didn't want me to take photographs of other diners. I finished my coffee rapidly and left - equally rapidly. I left a message with the two servers that I WOULD NOT BE GOING IN AGAIN.

We popped in on a whim and it was worth the visit. Friendly staff, a great 50s/60s retro feel to the place and the food was excellent. I had the BLT, whereas my family had an all day breakfast, toastie and ciabatta. All were of a very high standard and made fresh. Kids will LOVE the milkshakes! A nice touch was that there was a museum of sorts on the way to the toilets. A real trip down memory lane. All in it was less than £40 for four meals with drinks. Bargain. We will return if we are ever in the area again.

Best eggs Florentine ever. Poached eggs were perfectly cooked, husbands English breakfast was piping hot with great quality sausage. Nicely done.

Great little pub, with excellent food. The 6ft Chef is amazing, although he did bore us slightly with stories of his darts and pool prowess. Staff amazing also. Landlady is exceptional, just has a slight dictator vibe. Would highly recommend and will 100% come again. Weekend drinks are also meant to be a fun and social evening.

Lovely beer garden, great place to meet with friends for a drink. Although pretty expensive. However, you pay for the atmosphere aswell. Can go winter and summer and sit outside as they have heaters!

There’s an argument that you shouldn’t recommend good place as next time you come there are no free tables. Saying that the bacon sandwich was the best I have had in a long time and the pancakes fresh and cooked to perfection. We’ll be back!
