Pete's Plaice is no longer owned by Pete. It flies an English flag but it is not run or owned by an Englishman called Pete. The large fish is medium sized at large prices and the fish.. Is... Not...Fresh. Surprise surprise

The chips were good but the Cod was mushy and smelled bad. As the cod was over £10 this was very disappointing. I will not buy a meal here again.

I eat at Pete's Place most Saturdays. It's my lunch routine. I have always been treated with respect. Sadly, that didn't happen this Friday night around 8pm. The girl serving me were rude and had zero patience explaining the menu to me. I always had fish and I want to try the quebab and she was incredibly impatient. I couldn't understand what she was saying and she started rolling her eyes and snorting. It made me feel like a stupid person. I told her that she could be more patient and that I couldn't understand her, so she could cancell my order. That was when another older lady came and helped me in a polite way. When my food was ready I asked for a carrier bag and she rolled her eyes again and left me at the register. Seriously? I was buying 3 meals and I can't accept being treated like that by a girl who doesn't understand what it means to be professional and polite. The food is good, but this girl is making Pete's Plaice lose loyal customers. Disappointed!

Your standard fish and chips spot. Tidy spot with lots of staff. They charge for extra ketchup and vinegar on the side, we had to buy the bottle of vinegar. The food is on the average side, could use a boost in flavor.

I have just been sold some reheated chips which from the photo you will be able to see, you have just lost a regular customer, the lady who said she was the manager was adamant that they were not, rude and kept talking then shouting over me. Disgusting woman, service and food.

Food was hot and well presented/wrapped. Only issues were we found a bone in the donner meat, garlic mayo tasted abit sour and the ice cream was “bitty” but otherwise lovely

fish and chips were cool and soggy, lacked the usual wow factor.

I had Fish & Chips & it was really good! The batter was really crispy & not soggy at all. My partner & son both had pie & said it was delicious. 4.7 out of 5, will definitely be using them again.. highly recommended!

Amazing! Still hot on arrival, despite me stupidly putting the wrong address!! Restaurant helped call the driver to correct it and when I found the driver outside (Sunny) he was so lovely and patient!

Just bought mini fish... Chip's... and a scallop.. food was on a tray as I'd imagine they were closing.. chips dry and hard..fish was 70% batter.. £840 .. shame on you for selling me your inedible leftovers, especially at full price.. I will never go there again... Congratulations you have just lost a customer because of your penny pinching...the chips should of been in the bin, that's where they ended up.. very disappointed that I have just wasted £8.40

tried to get a kebab 20 mins before closing time but it was apparently too late, even though it was all set up, just needed heating. unbelievable.. shame cause it's a nice chippy but I won't be returning now unfortunately as this has happened at least 3 times the past couple of weeks

Kebab in a naan, naan burnt and over cooked!! Yet the meat was ice cold!

Normally really good quality but today was awful, naan bread for the kebab was really overdone, almost burnt, so fell into crumbs when you picked it up so couldn’t eat it, everything was barely lukewarm as well.

I have ordered from this restaurant for years with no real issues today the food was delivered inedible the cod was off smelt of ammonia. I contacted the help section to report the problem and was told nothing could be done as I couldn’t provide pictures of the food as I had already put it in the bin. Last time I had anything from there chips was old and black and the price is too high for the cheese chips 5.50£ for black potatoes 🤮🤮 not recommended to anyone

Having raved about this place for years I always used to think “what happens when something goes wrong??” Well unfortunately this evening it did and I’ll be as honest about a poor situation as I was the good. Order placed at 18:27 for a 19:45 delivery. Got a message at 19:46 to say it was running late with a new ETA of 20:00. It eventually arrived at 20:27. It has always been great quality but I hadn't been for ages. Had chicken and chips. The chicken had a crispy coating and was absolutely delicious.

So disappointed again with this place!!!! Hubby came home with some chips curry sauce and his doner kebab tonight and it was totally disgusting 🤢 The chips were stone cold and when I started to eat them I found a long black hair which totally put me off and make me felt sick 🤢 My hubby could not believe it and his Doner kebab was no better 😞😞 The pitta bread was so soggy not cooked at all and the meat omg freezing cold 😞 Don't understand Ur not even busy and your serving food like this 🤢🤢🤢🤢 Well never again am I buying food from this place as I have justed wasted good money for it to go in the bin totally disgusting 🤢🤢 Lost our custom for good now ☺️
