Came here today for the first time with my mum and 2 year old son. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. My son showed his terrible two's side a few times. To which other patrons were very understanding and didn't raise it or give any of those 'looks' The lady working there was great she came over and gave him a colouring book and crayons. The chap then bought his food over first which was amazing as we could focus on him. My mum has a cheese toastie to which she said was nice. I had the big breakfast which was lovely. Nice sausages, bacon wasn't overly salty and fried bread, something I haven't had in years was lovely. Thanks again 😊😊

Pete's Haven is in Peacehaven East Sussex. It serves nice breakfasts. But very expensive & mainly caters for the OAP's... Not open on Sundays..

This traditional café is a gem which brightens the moribund Meridian Shopping Centre. All the usual breakfasts, including build your own, sandwiches, paninis, and burgers, plus salads inc a fried chicken version. The salads are great, really fresh and with good quality lettuce, none of that iceberg rubbish and inc extras like beetroot salad, coleslaw and occasionally cous cous. Vegetarian breakfast available too. The bacon and sausages here are also very high quality and above the average. Like everywhere they do all the coffees, including decaffeinated, teas, milkshakes, minerals and cakes - although get there early for the latter as they disappear very quickly. Service is always with a smile; it can be a bit slow when there are lots of people there but it's worth the wait. Takeaway service for portable meals et cetera available, just ask. The loos are spotless and have antiseptic hand wash. The café and its lavatories are wheelchair accessible, and there are also highchairs. The music is impressive to, rhythm and blues rather than inane pap pop. I'm a regular here now - it's nice to see this independent business thriving in the otherwise grim Centre. The rating gizmo isn't working on TA today, but the Service, Food and Value are excellent.

'Pete's Haven' cafe which is in the small 'Meridian Shopping Centre' in Peacehaven was until the end of last year called 'Long Johns' until the former owners sold up and moved on. The premises are now clean and fresh as is to be expected from its new owners, and as well as serving breakfasts and lunches one can also get teas, coffees, sandwiches & snacks here at reasonable prices, although you must be made aware that it closes in the late afternoons so it does not cater for evening meals. The 'Meridian Centre' is situated away from the main road, a mile or so towards the back of the town in a mainly residential area, which whilst being convenient for local residents is not of any great interest in itself to casual visitors having only an extremely limited range of shops including a Co-Op store which also includes a cafeteria, all of which solely fulfil local needs and in consequence it attracts few (if any) tourists. 'Pete's Haven' seems to be quite popular these days which is all to the good, and I'd recommend that local people do give it a try sometime soon and treat themselves to lunch here one day, especially those out and about doing their shopping who are already in the vicinity. However, should you be a tourist or if you're just passing through the area you will find other more conveniently situated eating establishments in Peacehaven which you will pass by on the main A259 Brighton to Eastbourne road where you can stop awhile for a break whist avoiding the hassle of having to make a detour through unfamiliar streets away from the main road to access this rather uninspiring shopping centre.

Visited today, and have been there on several occasions. The café is always spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and welcoming. The food is freshly prepared and always of a high standard. Worth visiting for a quick sandwich breakfast or lunch - And the music playing in the background is always good (And not to loud either)

Really friendly staff from my visit today, unfortunately friendly staff is as far as my complements go. Firstly my first point to make is that there was nowhere suitable to sit with my buggy, the seating layout seems to focus on cramming as many seats as possible rather than comfort and space. When I approached the till I noticed many off putting features which negatively influenced my view before I'd even ordered. Firstly the scruffy, relaxed and frankly not safe wardrobe of the chef made me cringe. His attire was trainers; shorts, tshirt and shabby, long beard which are a no go in any kitchen especially and open one. Once I'd ordered my food I'd returned to my table where I had to wait 15 minutes for pre cooked, rock solid sausages and undercooked egg sandwich; 2 things I'd like to mention about that, firstly there were no other orders on the in the time between ordering and receiving my food and secondly any able cook can whip up a fresh sausage and egg sand which in 15 minutes. My last comment is no one came to my table to check of my food was okay, anyone who's eaten out know the serving staff should come over after 10 minutes to check if you're enjoying your food. Definitely won't make the mistake of going her again!

Called in on spec to this pub for a quick pint. Ordered 2 pints of Cruzcampo lager that looked lively but was completely flat by the time I got to the table. Outrageously expensive at £12.80 for the two pints. Absolute no atmosphere in this pub. At least the barmaid was welcoming and friendly..
