Nice outdoor seating, but it was very expensive for a poor foccacia sandwich and terrible cappuccino. The coffee was grainy and I had to ask for chocolate sprinkles!

We had the most fantastic time at Petersham Nurseries. It was for a friend's birthday and we were lucky to be seated outside. Manager, Giuseppe is a legend, what a wonderful, welcoming, warm man - who genuinely loves his job and is a true asset to the restaurant. Our waiter, Hardik was also superb, very efficient and very calm and good natured. We will most definitely be back.

This review is about Petersham nurseries in Covent Garden. I have been knowing Petersham for many years, when they started in Richmond with the fantastic Skye Gyngell as a chef. From that period to nowadays what is left is just a pale and sad resemblance of the past. I went with some friends for lunch, I though I had booked La Goccia, somehow we ended up at the Petersham instead. Looking at la carte menu', they offer pasta dishes starting from £28,like the one I had. My pasta dish: tortelli, nettles, black garlic, stracciatella, broad beans, podded pea, was swimming in a heavy butter and onion sauce, the 3/4 little tortelli, (a kind of fat tortellini), were too thick and uncooked, and the poor stracciatella, was solid. It's not enough to put together ingredients that might be interesting to cook a dish, if you can't execute it. Whoever cooked / made my pasta should retrain, seriously. You can't have prices of a Michelin star restaurant with this type of cooking. I don't want to carry on talking about the spongy anemic focaccia, or the cod croquette, completely tasteless and without any fish, I would probably save the calamari, the only decent thing that I eat. I understand you have to pay for the rent, in this huge place, but you can't charge these prices for such less than a mediocre cuisine. Poor italian food!

I recently visited Petersham Nursery for high tea, and unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. Despite the charming ambience, the experience was disappointing. Priced at £55 plus taxes, the high tea was overpriced for the quality and quantity of food provided. The selection was underwhelming, and an extra sandwich request was rejected. Moreover, the scones were served only after our tea was finished, which was quite confusing and frustrating. The service was lackluster and did not enhance the experience. While the nursery itself has a beautiful and serene setting, it does not make up for the overall shortcomings of the high tea offering. I'm genuinely puzzled as to how Petersham Nursery is managing to maintain their high tea offering with these issues.
