Peter in Leicester

This review is for the show that was located in the violin room. This old historic building is both beautiful but clearly showing its age. As I ascended the amazing staircase I did have to dodge the puddle and drip from the roof. A safety cone had been put out but I feared the danger remained. The upstairs bar was small but staffed before the show. A lack of seating have everyone shuffling and looking uncomfortable. The floor is also, amazingly old and worn, is slightly uneven and leaves you feeling like your on a boat. The fire place was a nice touch. The football table was entertaining while we waited. Once in the violin room, there was plenty of room about 80 chairs laid out for the show. It was clean and nice. A little disconcerting having a window taped up with bin bags, I assume to make it darker. Lighting was good and sound good. A small stage had been made and the act could be seen fine from where I was. Sound was good, he had a microphone. Over all the experience was ok. Staff were super helpful and friendly. They just need to get their leak sorted.

Went to Peter with a big group, and honestly, not impressed at all. The room they put us in was freezing—felt like there was no heating. The pizza crusts were way too thick, barely anyone touched them. I ordered a £14 “posh salad” and basically got a few roasted artichokes on a massive pile of rockets leaves. And to top it off, the waitress messed up our bill, said we were short, so we all tried figuring out who underpaid for ages, only to realise we actually overpaid…

Had excellent pizza takeaway from here last night. Fresh and delicious pizza's. I walked in to order and collect. Staff friendly and lovely waiting area with sofas. The restaurant is really good as well.

A lovely afternoon spent at Peter Pizzeria. Authentic pizzas and the best I have had in a very long time. Anthony and his team made us very welcome and were so very helpful. Thank you for fabulous food and excellent service. We went for another visit and the same excellent food and service. Definitely recommend the Tiramasu.

We arranged to come here to host a pizza party for a group of twelve children, and glad we did as we had a brilliant time. Anthony did a fantastic job running the pizza-making session with the kids, and helped throughout the afternoon to make this a memorable celebration for us. In fact all the staff were genuine, friendly and helpful, and made us feel at home. The fresh pizzas also came out great, the ice cream desserts disappeared fast; the kids had fun, and our kid said that they want to do it all again here!

Not the best place, but very good service

I went with husband and child, food was great, the service was excellent and we loved the decor. Highly recommend!

The pizza was nice, a little hint of spiciness which was lovely. The vegan nduja was ok but very salty which kind of took over the whole pizza as I wasn't expecting it. The vegan cheese was lovely on this.

They brought the wrong order and then took it away. Awaiting a refund.

It's been a long while since I've had a pizza this good, I'd forgotten pizza 'could' be this good!

The absolute best Pizza around! Authentic tasting pizza with delicious toppings. I had the Christmas Pizza #3 it was so packed with flavour, absolute must have. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Pale Peter, Ale was a perfect pairing to the pizza. Strong recommendation.

We went for the comedy. Venue was great. Could do with slightly more space. Drinks are pretty pricey (3.50 for a coke)

Very good quality food, and lovely service from start to finish. The staff are attending and nothing seemed much trouble for them. We had not reserved a table and we were seated right away. We were a group of 4 and we had a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options which were all lovely. Shout out to Richard who assisted us with such a great smile and positive attitude 😊

Excellent service kind and friendly staff would recommend

Pizza choice not great and not the best quality. We rushed as there was a music gig upstairs. We asked if we could have our meal boxed so we could take it upstairs. We were told no and then saw loads of people did! All in favour of 'distressed' decor but this took that design over the limit. Toilets in wooden sheds... I mean WHY.

This is the best Pizza place in town. No other place like PETER PIZZERIA

Decent pizza in a convenient location just outside the very centre of Leicester town. The pizzas themselves were generously topped with the flavoursome tomato base and good toppings. The dough itself was pretty flavoursome too and has tasty charring - they're more thin base pizzas than your thick doughy Domino's etc.

There were ingredients missing from our salad. When I raised it with Just Eat, they didn't care. Poor customer Service. Just Eat do not care if there is an issue with an order.

A nice place in an old tenement house. Very interesting decor. Delicious pizza at a good price. Toilets available. Paid parking available near the premises. Very friendly staff who try to surprise customers, including the way they deliver the bill you receive from the mouth of a toy dinosaur. Interesting idea. Cool love pizza wall.

Food was great, atmosphere great but staff were slow with asking for orders (drinks and food), too interested in standing at the back near the oven on their phone or leaving the restaurant room completely for another room. A few people complained to them last night. I had to walk upto their till (she was on her phone) to ask for the bill. Id heard good things about this place but the staff ruined it. Very disappointed

Pizza and Italian movie history on the walls for those that know....

Incredibly disappointed with our order. We ordered off Deliveroo. I think the pictures speak for themselves. We couldn't believe the amount of toppings (well, the lack thereof!) on the pizzas. This was absolutely not worth the money we paid.

I had a fantastic experience at Peter's Pizza! The traditional stone-baked pizzas are absolutely outstanding—perfectly crisp and full of flavour. The espresso martinis were a delightful pairing; rich and indulgent without being overly sweet. The decor is another highlight, featuring incredibly creative touches that make the place feel welcoming. Every corner tells a story! Overall, this venue is a true gem. Highly recommend for anyone seeking great food and a unique atmosphere! Five stars!

This is a great place. The pizzas are fabulous, and the staff really friendly and helpful. The specials are really interesting, and yummy. The inside is very rustic but interesting, and creates a great atmosphere. We're not in Leicester very often, but will be going here again. Especially on match day when you can get a discount off the already reasonable prices.

I've been to Peter's pizza in the past various times, for pizza, ping pong & social events upstairs, but never knew about the history of the place. Last saturday I went with a couple of Italian guys including 1 who'd previously been a pizzaiuole there / pizza chef. I learnt for the 1st time the place is owned by a local guy who is half Italian from Naples & from the UK & named after a pizzeria in Naples. If it's the pizzeria di Pietro I'm thinking of, I've been there, & it's known in Naples as the best, most traditional pizzeria in the city by the locals; so it was interesting to learn about the history & connection to the heart of pizza making. The pizzas we had were great, all baked freshly in the dedicated pizza oven, & we were even met by one of the Italian chefs who came over. It was great to verify the pizzas were 100% authentic traditional Italian the Napolitan way. We even found more details on the menu how the original Margerita pizza was created. It was great to learn a bit of Italian pizza history at the same time as having a great pizza. Again unfortunately this review fails to document the actual pizza since once it arrived I was too distracted to think of taking photos. Suffice to say it was proper pizza, & tasted perfect. "Una pizza perfetto da Pietro". The whole place has a great vibe, with lots of querky decor, & events upstairs, they had comedy on when we were there. Much enjoyed, grazie ragazzi, thank you guys!

A great pizza restaurant, pizza was really good,nice flavour and good quality. Sevice was good and the restaurant itself had a nice atmosphere.

What a great place. Quirky, GREAT food and lovely service. An enjoyable meal for two (1 starter, two pizzas, bottle of wine, and a beer) with drinks for less than £60. My wife said Leicester people were v friendly and she was right. We need more places like this.

Attended a pizza making session but you only get to shape the dough and put on tomato sauce and cheese. You only choose the toppings and they finish them off and cook them. Disappointed with that. That said the finished pizzas were extremely nice and served with anti pasti and garlic bread. Table service was ok. Huge old venue with a retro style, but felt the place needed a good clean! Toilets grubby with an attempt at the industrial look, which felt like an outside building with broken plumbing.

Bit of a hidden gem in Leicester. We went here after booking a Puppy Love Events event, where we had a pizza and got to meet a bunch of puppies to help socialise them while they are young. While I was aware this existed, I’d never thought to have been, but it turned out to be a really cool venue all on its own. The building is a cool layout, definitely being a converted school or something like that. There’s a couple rooms downstairs that are the restaurant itself, the left of which is where the pizzas are actually hand made, from scratch in front of you. Good drink and pizza selection, all the options were different - it’s a long way from a Domino’s menu! Upstairs they have a few event rooms, which we were in to meet the dogs. Seems like a good venue for children’s parties or the start of a stag or hen do night out. Definitely check out the venue for some really yummy pizza, and @puppy_love_events on Instagram if you want to meet some puppies at the same time!

Fantastic pizza. I can say we visited Naples without going to Naples. My wife wants to try every pizza on the menu.

Went for my daughters birthday on a quiet Sunday night, was looked after amazingly! Kind, friendly, great food and very attentive! We sat and played board games after and just had a great time! My Taylor Swift fan loved the music and her pudding! Thank you! We’ll be back!

This place offers a brilliant atmosphere that guarantees a lot of fun. The design is amazing, with many varieties to enjoy. While I didn't take pictures of the bathroom, its design is definitely something to remember. The food is just as good, complemented by pleasant service.

Ordered for the first time on deliveroo , I'm so sorry to say I'm so dissapointed, the pizza's I received were inedible. They were extremely soggy, the base sauce was watery and flavourless and the meat had such a funny taste and colour to it. The dessert pizza's didnt have the toppings advertised , it was genuinely just like eating plain Nutella on a burnt naan. £30 down and no dinner !

Honestly one of the best service I have ever received! The bar staff were incredible, they made you feel special and even helped when you could see they were super busy! They made their own specialties drinks which were insane! Just overall amazing night and thank you! Food was always lovely, I had a the spicy pepperoni pizza. Absolutely gorgeous!

I recently visited Peter Pizzeria and had an aubergine pizza along with a burrata starter. The place had a good vibe, and the food was also satisfying. Prices were reasonable for two people. Overall, a pleasant dining experience.

Food is good but quite overpriced specially the appetisers. The atmosphere is nice to go with big groups and friends. Nice location too

Literally the best pizza ever by miles. I love the interior decorated with movie posters, the staff are super friendly and you can watch as they make and cook the pizzas. They do at times have screenings to watch a film with your pizza. Excellent pizza topping choices and great desserts. Can't rate them enough.

Good pizza a bit cold when delivered

Such a lovely meal celebrating our son's 9th birthday! He loves Italian style pizza and I've wanted to visit Peter for a while so it was the perfect choice. The food was all delicious, especially my pizza 'The Old 3' which had the most amazing fennel salami on it. It tastes great cold the next day too 😋 Really cool building and decor, and our son loved being able to see the pizza dough being spun about! Antony, who looked after us, was really great. He gave excellent recommendations, was really friendly and helpful and also very kind to our son on his birthday 🥰 Thank you - we'll definitely be back!

Absolutely outstanding pizza - some really nice new ideas and very well executed. They've really got their dough perfect here and take care to use high quality tomato and cheese. It was quiet when we went, but the staff didn't switch off at all - our pizzas were at the table in minutes from ordering. They have a nice selection of beers / IPAs to try that I haven't seen before. Dessert was a little disappointing - the brownies were quite dry like they had been left out all day.

The pizza is so good but PLEASE sort the decor out. It looks like a children's play area and I am genuinely too embarrassed to be seen eating in there. It's like Reddit in a restaurant format. I don't need to be looking at all of the Marvel cast whilst I eat genuinely good authentic Italian pizza.

My Sons, my Sons Financee and I have been here many times. Its exceptional. The Staff are just so lovely.. they really can't do enough for you. I would recommend this Pizzeria the best in Leicestershire! Probably as good as Italy!!! Ciao. SALLYANN

We visited for the first time around Christmas and we loved Peter Pizzeria! We chose to visit due to our interest in repurposed buildings (and pizza!). The service was excellent from start to finish, the food was delightful and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, discussing different menu options and upselling their festive menu. One guest is vegetarian and she felt that the menu catered well. We love to be able to customise our pizzas too, which was an option here. We will be back again!

Somewhat of a hidden gem. We went at lunch time and had no trouble getting a table. Staff were super friendly and the venue is very quirky. The menu is compact, but more than sufficient. We ordered two 'adult' pizzas, two kids pizzas and a jug of 'melonade' (highly recommend!!!!) and the bill came to £33. Brilliant value for money. Yummiest Pizza (and Melonade) in town, and I am certain we tried them all :P Facilities are clean and functional, but the baby changing is only 'up to 11kg/ 12 months', which is not ideal considering that toddlers are not usually potty trained by the time their first birthday comes along (wouldn't that be nice though!?) Anyway. We loved it and already cannot wait to return :)

Came in for dinner with friends and had the BEST experience! The food was delicious, and what a range of options! Even my vegan friend had a good meal! The staff were lovely - our server Lauren took such good care of us and was so lovely! Will 100% be coming back for the delicious food and the wonderful staff!

Ordered two pizzas through Deliveroo . Margarita and Honey, I ate the salami. Margherita was good. Salami was dreadful, like it was cheapest salami they could find, uneatable. Just disgusting.

Pizza was solid as expected from a Pizzeria, food wasn't bad overall. The menu did lack a little variety in things as there wasn't much to pick from. Furthermore the atmosphere was interesting, like it wasn't my cup of tea as it felt more like a pizzeria, but the lighting wasn't great, the tables felt squashed together and the walls felt half finished. This is as seen in pictures, but didn't feel as good as other restaurants in the same price bracket based on surroundings, but good food regardless.

I arrived at lunchtime, asking if they offered pizza by the slice. They don't, so I ordered one of the smaller pizzas. I can only assume that they don't care about the smaller ones, maybe because they're designed for kids, but it was the worst pizza I've had in years. Undercooked dough, tomato sauce that tasted like someone had just added chopped tomatoes from a tin, and cheese that tasted of nothing and was rubbery. I had a better pizza at a Wether spoons once. The only reason I give it 2 instead of 1 is because the young lady behind the counter was very friendly. I will certainly not be back again and I am baffled at the 4.5 score average, I can only assume the pizza has nosedived in quality.

Best pizza in Leicester. I am a pizza nut. Have been everywhere local that does pizza with just one or two left to try and have been chasing the perfect slice of pizza for decades. This place is amazing.

Displeased that I was charge +£2.50 extra for each gluten-free option. Which was not freshly made and no one raised that there will be additional charge. Very disappointed.

I was very impressed. Our pizzas were undercookedand very sloppy. We mentioned it to the waitress who did advise if we'd wanted them crispy we should request it next time. There won't be a next time. We didn't want them crispy just cooked. Then the brownie was like a brick.

Great place, wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff, and great comedy shows upstairs caught a few as part of the festival. Back again for this year's festival, first nights show just finished a great line up back for more in a couple of days.

I have ordered from you guys twice so far. First time I've ordered I could call it easily the best pizza I've had in Leicester, ingredients tasted amazing, dough was lovely and pizza in general tasted amazing. I thought I'll give it a go again today and I was sadly surprised with a pizza that arrived cold, rubbery and very poorly cut. Unfortunately it was more of a pain than a pleasure to eat the pizza I was really looking forward to. :( I would really love to give you guys another go sometime in a future so I hope this things would be improved! On another note, your pizza boxes are absolutely fantastic. I love them so much!

A very studenty vibe but definitely in a good way, the pizza was delicious and the staff friendly. Perfect fuel for walking around the King Richard III Visitor Centre!

This has been the best pizza place in Leicester for a long time. Great ingredients, beautiful dough, wood fired and all combined in balance to create real pizza Neapolitan style. Based on recent visits though it seems like they've lost their touch and respect for the product. Salsiccia was replaced with sliced hot dog and everything swimming in cheese. The balance had gone. The one pizza my family had that wasn't death by cheese was a goats cheese pizza with can't cheese. I'd brought my family to share the beauty of the great pizza and relaxed dining at Peters, but I felt awful in the end as no one impressed and the staff were more busy with filling delivery take out orders than seeing to the needs of the guests in house, with our waitress coming over after 40 minutes to ask if we'd had our food. We hadn't. So sad.

Cannot recommend Peter Pizzaria in Leicester enough, it's such a hidden gem! Matt and his team were super helpful with my friend's 30th birthday party leading up to the event and on the day. We were able to hire out the whole of the top floor, Matt was able to arrange food within my budget and access to a private bar upstairs. I was able to play around with the space and there was no limitations with the decorations and moving furniture around even the use of confetti! The staff even sorted out the sound system for me ahead of the party. All the guests were pleasantly surprised with the space and interior, can guarantee our guests will be booking with Peter Pizzaria in the future :)

Good pizza, good price nice service

It used to be one of the best wood-fired pizzerias, but recently it seems to me that this pizzeria has gone into decline, I gave it a chance many times because I thought it was a bad day, but I guess it wasn't a bad day because now the pizza tastes terrible, it's not Neapolitan pizza anymore which I remember.

To say it's the best pizza is a bit of an overstatement in my opinion. More of a decent Pizza, personally the dough wasn't for me.
