We visited this service just after midnight we were very disappointed that there were only two places open Costa and w h Smiths I thought the whole idea of service was to provide outlets for the general public

today 9th Oct 11:15 2024 Discrimination to my autistic 11 year old son he had snacks of his own as he only eats certain food, my friend and I had come to have breakfasts and drinks the curly short head lady did not allow us to sit and eat there and told us to leave, so does this mean parents with special needs children with certain dietary requirements are not aloud to come in?! Disgusting needs to be looked into very shocking in 2024 on queens Road

Had a great meal and kids think the margarita pizza is simply the best! I had the paneer thai curry which was perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. Definitely would recommend. Would be great to have starters to go with the asian mains.

A nice restaurant with great pizza, drinks, and service. The staff are all very friendly. I definitely recommend! Have been going here for years and will continue to do so.

I love this place as you enter the place where you are made to feel very welcome, and I love that I'm not made feel like it is a place where I should not be. The food is good. The staff here are always very welcoming and polite and professional.

Really cosy and comfortable setting for brunch. The food was tasty and the drinks were also very nice. I would come here again.

They fitted us in despite it being busy and we should have booked. It took a while to be served our drinks but understandable on this busy day. Full English was tasty.

I had egg benedict and it was really tasty so I can't fault quality of food but the prices are out of this world to be honest , for little small egg benedict with only 2 pieces of bacon it was £10 not even a bit of salad on side, nothing 🫣 and... little bottle of coke £3.45!! 🤯🤯 nice place, friendly staff but bit overpriced for what you get.

Walk-in, accommodated request for a table, polite & courteous service from the team. Breakfast was made very well and tasted as good.

This is the third time we have been to Halcyons, and the food is really good. This time round though they was a delay with the last breakfast, and this wasn't communicated, so we had to go and ask. But don't let this put you off other than that the service was very good. I Reccomend you visit and also pre-book 👍🏻

First visit and will definitely be returning. Friendly attentive waitresses and amazing food. No fuss serving the Birthday Cake our friend had bought, plates, knife and candles all supplied. My only comment would be that like a lot of restaurants nowadays it has low ceilings so noice (especially if near the open kitchen) reverberates making it difficult to have conversations! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We booked out the Halycon for a birthday party and they did not disappoint - great service, food was lovely and prompt. Would definitely recommend. And great to support local business.

Beautifully presented breakfast, nice atmosphere and friendly, accommodating staff. The chef did the most exquisite "firm" poached egg (at my request). The tea was individual leaf 🍃 tea. I would recommend Halcyon and look forward to returning in the future.

Passed through here briefly for a flat white and Turkish pizza. The vibes here are very relaxed and it’s a nice place to catch up with friends or study/work as it’s not too loud and they have a headphone policy. You can either sit on their comfortable sofas or at a table. The staff are very friendly and the food is not bad.

First time here!! Might be our new place to eat in Leicester. The atmosphere was very chilled and laid back. Soon as we entered the restaurant we was greeted by a very polite waitress who took us to a lovely table. She took our drinks order after a few minutes and then followed by our food order. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the dishes and stated the dishes we ordered were her favourites. Starters arrived after 5-10 minutes. Both were amazing. Dad opted for the tarragon Wild Mushroom Bread Cup and I went for the calamari (as always). You could definitely tell they were both freshly made to order. Mains arrived and these definitely did not disappoint. So full of flavour and again you can tell they were cooked to order. Generous portions and full of flavour. My dad opted for the Indo Chilli Crispy Chicken and I went for the Slow braised Blade of Beef. The beef just fell apart and was so rich in flavours. These main dishes were by far the best mains we’ve had eating out. Had the check back and everything was perfect and another drinks order was taken. Unfortunately didn’t have room for desserts even though they all sounded amazing. We both will be back soon to try them 😂. All in all the food , service and atmosphere was 10/10. The waitress made our evening so thank you very much

I had a lovely experience here for dinner. Staff are very hospitable and attentive and the food was delicious. Definitely the best pizza I've had! Portion sizes were good too. There was a lovely, cosy atmosphere and they were playing some great songs in the background! I'll definitely be back and would recommend a visit to everyone.

Went to eat here for lunch with my friends and my dog. Advertised as dog friendly, but not very dog friendly as I was told I have to give my dog water outside. Never experienced a thing like this in any so called dog friendly place. Please don’t advertise as dog friendly if you are still hostile towards dogs.

Amazing food! Had three courses and cleared the plate for each. Best meal I’ve had out in a long time. I never leave reviews normally but all credit to the staff and chefs.

Our local queens rd eatery. Four ladies went for lunch today upstairs and had a great time. The food and drink were good. One Pizza one goats Cheese salad one veg breakfast one avocado brunch. Choc brownie and affogato. White and red wine. Best of all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service was above and beyond. Never lets us down so we return time and time again.

I didn't think much of their food, as I do not like mixing two different cuisines with each other, like having pizzas with the Thai Green curry.

I’m sure they do great food at other times, but we’ve only ever been here for breakfast, but it is the ONLY place we go to for breakfast when we’re in Leicester. Of particular notice is the warm welcome, relaxed ambience and excellent service. Good variety on the menu, too. Definitely going back!!!😊

I visited here today for breakfast with a friend and my 4 year old. The menu is fantastic. I had the biggest breakfast and asked for crispy bacon (which was perfect), the coffee is good, the staff pleasant and helpful and the other customers were also delightful people. What a lovely place! It’s left me in a very good mood.

Evening out with my Mum and sister, the service was great, we got the table that we wanted. I ordered the blade of beef, it was delicious, Mum and sis ordered the paneer Thai curry, both loved it. Great service, lovely wine. Will return for sure.

Decided to revisit The Halycon after a positive first experience and have to say that this experience couldn't be further from the first. Visited on Saturday the 28th with my mother-in-law with the desire to have a quick cocktail before we headed home. We hadn't booked but the restaurant wasn't full and to our amazement the sofa area was completely empty. Perfect... at least we thought. I had barely reclined onto the sofa when a rude waitress galloped over to enquire if we had booked. We said no but were only having one drink to which the waitress quickly snapped back "We're not allowing tables for just drinks and the restaurant is fully booked." I cant imagine anyone using the sofa tables for anything other than drinks so why us sitting there was such a problem for this impertinent young waitress remains to be seen. The Halycon must be raking it in if they feel they can so easily turn away custom. Perhaps the extra money floating around can be invested in lessons for the staff in manners and decorum.

Excellent pizzas. Good that they offer breakfast/brunch menu until 2pm. Food took a long time to arrive. Friendly efficient waitresses. A pizza, soft drink and hot drink came to roughly £17.50. Didn’t look at the dessert menu as I can take or leave puddings. Upstairs very much quieter than downstairs.

We were here for breakfast twice this week, both excellent experiences. The ‘Full English’ was a delicious selection which should last till teatime 😁 and we found amending our choices was easily accommodated. That was our favourite, but the other breakfasts we tried were equally good. Excellent service, good value for money, gentle ambience - a great way to start the day! Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful evening here We were greeted by an extremely polite young lady and shown to a lovely cosy spot in the restaurant The restaurant was nice and warm Very relaxing space We both ordered green Thai curry Which was delicious We have eaten in a lot of Thai restaurants and we truly thought this was one of the best Thai currys we have ever had. The waiter was a very polite young man who was very efficient. We have also eaten breakfast here and was also as delightful Would so recommend this amazing restaurant day or evening

We regulalry have breakfast here on the weekend. Breakfast menu is really varied and the food is excellent. Highly recommend any egg dish! Staff are supper friendly and accomodating. Great atmosphere.

Just returned from having an amazing meal here. The restaurant is so well set out and each table is actually quite private. The food was just simply amazing. I had a Bruschetta, as did my wife and someone else had the Calamari to start. The pizzas for the mains were massive, tasty and fresh and then I had the chilli chicken - this was the best thing I have eaten in a long time. With such great starters and mains, there was no room for dessert but I needed to have something as I knew it would be brilliant, and the cheesecake didn't disappoint. All in all, a great meal, nice atmosphere and excellent service. Will 100% return

Excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Lovely staff who couldn't be more accommodating.

If you haven't already visited you're missing out. I'm not a vegetarian but I opted for the vegetarian breakfast muffin and it was by far the best breakfast I've ever had. The ambience and setting was also really relaxing and calm. Will be back again very soon. The waitress was also lovely!

Overall a good solid experience. We were there on a Tuesday which Halcyon only offers a limited menu. Had the Calmari and a pepperoni pizza. Both were solid hits!

Very nice restaurant with ample seating, looked to be mostly pizza being ordered. We had various items from the menu which was ok mostly the stir fried beef was a bit over cooked and all of the dishes took an hour to arrive.

My partner & I come for breakfast every few weeks, the service is always great and the food is just as good.

Very slow service when ordered -was told a wait of about 50 minutes is standard for a Sunday morning, however my breakfast turned up with food missing. So we paid for the food my wife consumed and I left the restaurant hungrier than when I entered. Save your money and go somewhere where the service is great not awful like this place

We wanted a quick meal before a Leicester City game, and arrived at Halcyon at 6.25 pm (ko was 7.45). The restaurant was half-empty, and almost everyone seemed to have already received their food, so we were confident that we should get our pizzas within...

Lovely post parkrun breakfast. Halcyon cooked breakfast with a pot of tea - proper loose leaf tea too! Great place and staff!

Really lovely restaurant with good cocktails! The staff are great and really accomodating. We ordered a beef dish which came with a sauce containing bacon. As we don't eat pork when we told the staff they were really nice about it and offered us replacement dishes with no fuss. The only tiny criticism I have is just for the menu to have a little more detail in that respect. Overall a really great experience though! The food had clearly been freshly cooked to order, and was really tasty. Would definitely recommend :)
