We sat outside on a nice evening to be joined by a constant stream of Deliveroo guys. Eventually we asked one who who was almost laying on us to move away only to be met with a tirade of abuse culminating in being accused of being racist. The staff were sweet an apologised but did nothing to stop mob of helmeted scooter guys lurking around for their next delivery. Unless you enjoy dinner with a serenade of lambretta riders avoid this place. Oh I forgot to mention the food was awful - maybe we should have given it to the scooter guys.

What a hidden gem! I found this place whilst looking up places to eat in primrose hill. We were running 30 mins late and called to say so, the lady was very understanding and put me at ease to not rush. Once we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcoming smile! Our food was fantastically presented and very tasty. I would recommend anyone that’s looking for a place to eat in this area as it’s well worth the visit. We shall be returning again soon. Spontaneity is one of those things that always keep life interesting. Like the spontaneous break up of my relationship the night before my birthday. In no mood to celebrate, I was dragged kicking and screaming by my closest friends to primrose hill, where the abundance of couples engaging in public displays of affection was enough to jump in the nearby regents canal. With all hope presumably lost we stumbled upon this charming Italian where we were treated like royalty. And believe me, my friends and I are far from it. Needs were met and expectations were exceeded by the beautiful service staff who had the commendable stamina to put up with us. Once our food arrived, we were transcended into an unfamiliar euphoria rarely experienced with your clothes on. To top it all off, I was generously provided with the annual embarrassment of “happy birthday” in the form of a delicious complimentary tiramisu. It’s safe to say that pessantino saved my birthday. And the next girl that will eventually break my heart will be sharing a tiramisu with me there in the future without doubt.

Me and my 16 year old friend purchased a pizza yesterday evening after sitting up on Primrose Hill. Whilst waiting for the takeaway box (as we didn’t want to eat in), my friend accidentally knocked a pepper shaker off the table. As I was in the toilet at the time of the event, I had no idea it had even occurred. As i returned to the table, i was preparing to pay the bill and a male waiter starts aggressively asking me if I was also going to pay for the broken shaker. Stunned into silence at the fact this grown man was shouting at two clearly young girls in the middle of the restaurant, as well as the fact I hadn’t known what had happened, I couldn’t answer him. He proceeds to say ‘are you stupid? Am I speaking Chinese? Answer the damn question’ still shouting. A very kind female waitress proceeds to tell him I wasn’t present and it was my friend that broke the shaker. My friend apologised profusely as well as me, yet he continued to berate us until we left. If I had been at dinner with my parents and I accidentally knocked over a shaker, I am almost certain quite a scene would’ve never happened. It disgusts me that this restaurant believes they could treat two teenage girls as less than human, showing no compassion whilst we showed mountains of remorse. I actually really enjoyed the pizza but will never EVER be returning because of this treatment.

Food was very nice - we had arancini and the veg antipasti board for starters and were lovely and filling, so we shared a pizza (big portion) and were easily able to swap ham for artichoke :) ... Had 2 bottles of house red wine because it was also very good ! We were given 25% off so everything was reasonably priced overall. Toilet was neat. The open window seat was perfect for our anniversary dinner, would recommend to anyone <3

I have had four meals from deliveroo them and I really think they are excellent. The food was hot (temperature wise) tasty and very well presented. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the meals and they really deserve a visit. Another thing their pastas and pizzas are huge and you can easily get two meals out of each portion.I hope to visit the establishment when lockdown is over as I would like to see and taste the experience as I am sure it will be just as I found it home and maybe even better.

We ordered lots of different takeaways during the first lockdown and Pesantissimo was the best Italian by far. We decided to order again for a Valentine’s dinner and were not disappointed. This is a genuine Italian restaurant and all of the food was so flavoursome - if you closed your eyes you could pretend you were in Italy! It all arrived well presented and at the right temperature (even the tartufo!). The only slight downside was that we tried to order a night in advance but Deliveroo said the restaurant doesn’t deliver to our area. We tried again in the morning though and managed to secure a delivery.

We order from here regularly and find the portion size and value for money great. The pasta and starters are always super tasty and filling. The pizzas are very tasty as well, however unfortunately they don't seem to be well taken care of in transit and often the toppings end up all over the place (probably not much the restaurant can do). If you are after a hearty pasta meal this is a great place and food is always delivered in fairly short time scales.

What was once a good neighbourhood restaurant has gone to the dogs. Take out from here is now a total gamble. First order didn't arrive. Replacement was inedible as a result of being totally bashed about in transit. Called restaurant to complain and they were offhand and dismissive... 'not our problem'.The incredibly rude and aggressive manager then called me to 'discuss', but hung up on the call as I tried to reiterate the problem. He did take the opportunity to be thoroughly unpleasant before slamming down the phone. I can only assume this is the same person referred to by numerous other reviewers below.Worst customer service ever. Such a shame as this was a good local. Will now avoid.

I ordered three pizzas tonight - they arrived with all toppings fallen off the pizzas. Inedible and totally unprofessional, as the photos show.I phoned Pesantissimo, and they blamed Deliveroo and did nothing to fix the situation.I phoned Deliveroo, and they said they had no alternative available drivers to deliver a new order.Absolutely unacceptable and will never use the restaurant again.

I went for dinner, I took my take away pasta and ciabatta was super delicious. And Simona did a perfect service with an amazing smile.

Me and my friend were just walking around Primrose and all his small restaurant caught our attention. We decided to have a take away pasta and we were not disappointed! It tastes amazing and the service from Semona is excellent!

Photos below say it all.....called the restaurant and we was told "not their fault, wasnt like that when it left restaurant". They said they would contact Deliveroo to find out what happened. I think what happened is obvious.

Ho fatto una prova da pizzaiolo alcuni giorni fa, nessun italiano , impasto mai visto,quadrato e secco in superficie, di dimensioni molto inferiori al formato di pizza che propongono, formaggio rancido, cucina in uno scantinato con raggio di azione per cui le pale hanno il manico tagliato. Per non dovegli dire che non mi interessava ho finto di essere lento ed impacciato.

Paré aquí para una cena previa al concierto (el área ideal para cenas / bebidas antes de los eventos en el Roundhouse). Preocupado por algunas de las críticas negativas aquí, pero todo estaba bien. Buena selección de platos, grandes porciones, personal amable. El único inconveniente fue la gran cantidad de conductores de Deliveroo / Just Eat que entraron y salieron durante nuestra comida. El lugar es bastante íntimo, pero en el espacio de una hora, alrededor de 30 repartidores de bicicletas entraron y salieron por la puerta. La camarera nos dijo que llevar negocios era bueno, alrededor de 100 por noche.Es bueno para sus negocios, pero amortiguó la sensación romántica del lugar, ya que era como estar sentado en una oficina de taxis. Sugerí una escotilla en la pared de la cocina para que los ciclistas pudieran recoger desde la parte trasera del edificio; -)

No puedo creer lo terrible que es el servicio. Lo peor que he recibido.Estaba a punto de pedir un tagliatelle gamberoni de deliveryoo pero contacté con el restaurante para solicitar que me pusieran un poco de chile en la pasta, ya que me gusta picante.Literalmente me gritó y me gritó el gerente, que estaba extremadamente enojado porque pregunté por qué me estaban cobrando por solicitar chile en mi pasta.He pedido pasta de muchos restaurantes y nunca me han cobrado algunos chiles en mi salsa. Delicious food, really good value and my deal (pasta and pizza for 2) included a varied salad with lots of fresh interesting vegetables and extra Parmesan shavings.

We order regularly from Pesantissimo since years and are never disappointed. Very good quality food, generous portions and quick & friendly delivery. They also very kindly fulfil our extra wishes (ie pizza without cheese as the kids don't like melted cheese (don't ask!)). We particularly recommend the pizze and seafood pasta.

First off- have ordered from Pesantissimo for 4 years and loved/hated the service. Pizza’s arrived- the vegetarian pizza normally has a variety of veg on- tonight it literally had some courgette and black olives- added and paid for artichokes but very poor over all. Basically don’t order from here on a Friday night- too busy to accommodate a basic pizza order. Also arrived cold. Shame as quality is good on a week night.

Had amazing food and service at this restaurant wonderful staff and the best Italian food ever I had in a long long time. Me and my family had a really good time . Highly recommend for Valentine’s Day 🎊🎊🌹

I am conflicted as to give a bad review because if you want night convenience wine, this place has decent wine..OK over priced but far from the paint stripper others serve It's decent! The food is the problem. 3 crostini primavera for £7.50 was seriously 3 tiny thin cut bagueutte slices with some mushroom and a blob of goats cheese microwaved in sealed carton and very cold by the time I got it. Pizzas are soggy greasy dough. Don't even taste or smell like real cheese. Thanks for the wine, but over prices won't bring me back til you sort the food, as in make it actually 'food'. We are all going to die soon enough, no meed to hurry us us for profit!

Pizza was completely cold when it arrived. The delivery guy did not have any bags or packaging with him to keep the pizza warm, but simply brought the cold cardboard boxes. No point ordering nice pizza if it's going to arrive cold.

Ordered from this place because we know the pizza taste good..... but 45 minutes late on delivery time is a shambles! Called at 7.30pm pizza was suppose to arrive within the hour and we actually received it at 9.10pm. Shame because considering the taste it could be one of the best pizza place but due to poor service is not.

Food arrived very late (80 minutes after ordering) and was stone cold. Food was very average.

Outstanding quality! Amazing risotto and freshly made pasta dishes, delivery was super fast and everything was piping hot on arrival. Fantastic!

I was not expecting much. Just average local place to stop my hunger pangs. But I was shocked at how handsome the waiters were. Sure the food was a pleasant surpise but the waiters were possibly the best looking men I have ever seen in my life.

Pizza was nice. The tomato sauce too garlicky and they forgot to add my toppings. I would repeat anyway but I have the impression with that tomato sauce all the pizzas will test the same.

My husband and I went here with my parents last night. It was perfect in every way. Delicious food, lovely wine and the BEST service. Simona was quite simply a joy to speak to. It’s very hard to find restaurants (not just pubs) that allow dogs. Lola our Pom was spoilt rotten! Totally recommend and we can’t wait to go back.

Pesantissimo isn't pretentious, it doesn't try to be fancy, but it does everything extremely well at the lowest prices in Primrose Hill. Something about the layout of the restaurant makes it convivial, whether you're on a romantic date or you're taking twenty children for pizza. Excellent place

Esto tiene la peor comida que he tenido, ni pizzas ni las pastas eran comestibles. El personal no era servicial, no estaban contentos con los clientes que tenían y tenían muy pocos clientes para un lugar supuestamente muy popular. Digo que mejor ve a comer a Pizza Express, al menos comerás algo apropiado y te llenará la barriga.

È la seconda volta da Pesantissimo! Nella zona è il migliore come qualità-prezzo. La pizza è deliziosa! Non la solita napoletana tutto cornicione che puntualmente si lascia. Accolti da un signore distinto che ci ha portato il cibo molto cordiale. Continuate così! La zona è deliziosa a due passi dalla collina di Primrose irresistibile! Il locale è piccolo e raccolto! Pochi tavoli fulro per la bella stagione quindi magari chiamate e prenotate anche se noi non abbiamo avuto problemi!

He estado aquí algunas veces ahora. La primera visita fue realmente genial, había una porción generosa de albóndigas cuando pedimos las albóndigas de pasta. Sin embargo, en nuestras próximas dos visitas, la porción de albóndigas fue mucho menor y la pasta también estaba ligeramente húmeda en comparación con la versión más seca que tuvimos en la visita anterior. Realmente decepcionado. Última visita, el restaurante parecía estar corto de personal el viernes por la noche.

After a great meal last week, I ordered again. Both dishes were honestly disgusting. We couldn’t finish either and they even got the drink order wrong. At least it arrived early, but that’s all I can say.

Been here a couple of times for a quick bite and we have only ordered the pizza and pasta. The service was efficient and the food excellent on both occasions so will visit again as I think this place has more to offer.

Good tasting pizzas but one was very under-sized and mid-shapen. A little disappointing considering the cost (over £16 before discount). I suspect the base was confused with the garlic bread as this was fairly substantial. Not particularly impressed.

We overlooked this though because we love your pizza so much. We’ll definitely buy again, but please make sure your delivery people don’t tip the box.

The reason restaurant service is set to Alright is because the restaurant never sent the chilli oil as requested, and the driver was carrying the 2 boxes of pastas on a tray, which was our pizza!! The pizza arrived ruined and cold. Very disappointing. Overall. Good food and tasty. Just a shame about the delivery guy.

Pesantissimo is a lovely neighbourhood restaurant that delivers good quality, tasty food in generous portions. We find their service friendly and reliable and order very regularly. Would recommend both pizze and paste.

Have always enjoyed ordering but service has gone downhill. Now there are grumpy, rude staff who seem inconvenienced when you ask them a question. Not even authentic Italian cuisine.

Disgusting, they are using ready made garlic paste from a tube and don’t even bother to disguise it. Cheese was tasteless and I was wondering if halloumi was mixed in to it

Locale piccolo e poco accogliente, nessuno del personale che parli italiano, almeno con noi. Menú e Vini limitati, va meglio con le pizze, che però costano come un main course! La cucina nell'interrato vicina ai bagni non fa una impressione favorevole. Nella stessa zona si trova di meglio.

I don't know if they've changed chef or management but my last 2 orders were not nice. I used to love their food but its gone way downhill. The pizzas were bland. I always ordered bruschetta with goats cheese and that was always soggy but it came with a substantial amount of cheese- now there isn't enough cheese to put both pieces of soggy bread... I stopped ordering chips from them because they were always cold and dry. I am now trying other pizza restaurants for the first time in ages because the food standards have dropped. It's a shame because I used to love their food.

I would like a refund please: I threw away 3/4's of the pizza and could only eat the crust; it was inedible- Wet soggy pizza base with a few pieces of pepperoni. Wet, soggy apple pie swimming in custard. Grainy, icy ice-cream that taste like sand.

I order from here a lot, lovely food. The only thing i was dissapointed with was that the food had gone up in price and that the portion was slightly smaller than usual. The Manzoni is delicious.

As above food was late and cold. My mushroom risotto was overcooked and dry it's all just fell out of the container on the plate in a big sticky block. I couldn't eat it as it was too dry I had to throw the whole thing away after one spoon. Very disappointing and wasted my money. Really disappointed and I really loved this place before.

The pizza was so greasy and soggy. I think it’s because it was transported sideways so all the grease and oil made half the pizza soggy and in edible. Please fix this and it’s not the first time this has happened!!
