Artigano is in belsize village not swiss cottage and it has closed . It's about to reopen as a very popular steak and salad restaurant

This restaurant appears to have closed over night from last week. Furniture removed . Spoke to a local who said a lot of businesses were struggling on Belsize terrace because of the high rents.

El nivel de comida se igualó y un nivel de servicio muy alto, especialmente por parte del gerente, quien pudo ofrecer una excelente combinación de vino / comida cuando pedí una recomendación. Recomiendo encarecidamente este restaurante y espero comer aquí de nuevo. También el café es genial!

Would like to start by saying how I have worked in Italian restaurants before and this was not up to par. Carpaccio was bland with tinned artichokes. Soup was cold, lamb was described as crumbed cutlets and I got a fried lamb patty. Tiramisu was the saviour and even then it barely tasted of anything. And for £110 no way near worth the value. Service was very poor barely came over and when they did all they did was try and up sell no how’s your food, really really bad do not go

We had a wonderful dinner here. We stumbled upon it from Googlemaps while looking for a place near Swiss Cottage. Walked from the Tube station and were surprised to find it tucked into a neighborhood. It was cosy, comfortable, impeccable service and fabulous food. We are pescatarians and had many options of veggies and fish. Would absolutely return on our next visit to London.

Three of us treated a friend for her birthday dinner here: we all opted for the menu and the food was excellent...however one of our party wanted just a main and a desert off the 2 course menu... well her main, lamb shank, which was identical to ours cost more than our 2 course menu, and all our deserts were charged at full a la carte price even though we'd all had the menus: we were told that those deserts were not on the menu selection- however we were never offered the option to choose from the menu selection. Although the food was good, I did not like the way the staff manipulated the bill and therefore I will not be revisiting this restaurant! After being challenged about the bill, our waitress became only just civil.

A bit disappointing tonight. The food was very good as usual but I thought the service was slapdash and very casual with cutlery placed down at unusual angles, water banged down etc. There was no subtlety about it. The fixed price 2/3 course menu is good value but we all had a la carte choices which were all very good.

A friend and I had a birthday meal at this lovely restaurant. The food was excellent as was the service. Will be returning.

We went totally by chance on a our first night of a short break in London. Didn’t know what to expect, but were very pleasantly surprised when the food arrived! Tried the crab risotto, veal with asparagus and a pasta dish. All were excellent! Will try to go again if in the area.

I was expecting much better after I read the reviews. The starter was bland as was the main course. The staff are disorganised and kept dropping things. The service was rushed. Maybe if this is your local you quite like to eat here, I must say I have had better a home. Shame really it didn’t live up to expectations.

Decided to eat dinner for two here last week, having seen the warm & lively atmosphere from the street the night before. Very good service, refilled wine glasses and quickly cleared away our table. The mushroom risotto was very tasty! Will be eating here again and would recommend to family and friends.

Mi esposa y yo también llegamos temprano a discutir de nuevo las opciones, como suelo hacer para guardar los problemas en la mesa. Tenía una actitud de Cyril tan pronto como entramos. Sonrisa falsa. Yo había examinado varias opciones con Rosa la camarera cuando vinimos a pedir todo lo que había discutido con ella él contradijo. No podían ofrecer las patatas fritas (bastante) pero tampoco pudo ofrecen patatas salteadas porque utilizan la frier. . Ni podía ofrecer patata puré como su preparados y pueden tener gluten. . . Ni me podrian hervir patatas porque no tienen patatas! ! Es una cocina pequeña era su excusa. Pero ninguno era él acercaba con alternativas, sólo seguía diciendo que no lo podemos hacer.

Their tiger prawn and cornish crab risotto is a truly incredible dish! The combination of all the different flavours is amazing. Have only been once but will come back just for this dish!

Nos trasladamos a la zona hace unos meses y han pasado Artigiano en varias ocasiones. Con el sol brillando, decidimos visitar para la cena. No teníamos reserva pero nos sentaron rápidamente. Servicio para llevar menús y tomar órdenes de bebidas era rápido y llegamos pronto después. bebidas El menú era variado, con buenas opciones y decidimos ir recto para platos principales - un plato de pasta y de todo un besugo. Tomó un poco más de las comidas, teniendo en cuenta el restaurante llega estaba casi vacío, pero tanto la calidad y el sabor era genial y vale la pena la espera. Personal (incluyendo el chef) que trabajan en el restaurante italiano, están añadiendo a la autenticidad y todos eran amables y serviciales. Este puede convertirse en nuestro local para cuando los visitantes están en la ciudad o cuando queremos disfrutar de una cena romántica (preparado por alguien! ). This is not free food as chefs is running food restaurant as a business. You can’t come in and just say “hello, I am hungry”. That would be more silly that I can bare. Instead they write with pen or typewritener a list of different foods. No one can say all the same food. Then it is your turn. Action! Place food in mouths please and then write a review. I have been coming to this resturant for many years now. Sadly we were met this time by the Grinch OR SCROOGE of Christmas past. The manager is the only person i am going to complain about as when one is having a pleasent evening and to be very difficult unpleasent is sad. If you run out of something and an offlicense is next door make the effort. Even the waiter who recognised me saw and agreed with my frustration.

I ordered the pumpkin ravioli. They tasted exactly the same as the biscuits that came with the coffee at the end of the meal - too sweet and strongly flavoured with amaretto. The ravioli were actively unpleasant and even at £3 each I could not bring myself to eat them ! Lots

Wow, so impressed with our meal at Artigiano this eve. First visit and will definitely be back. Great service, lovely staff, perfect food, nice atmosphere..what else could you ask for? Would highly recommend for every occasion from a family meal to night out with friends to a romantic date.

It was going all very well until we ordered amaro Averna which is an after dinner digestivo and they brought us an extremity tiny quantity, never saw before such a tiny quantity, but the price was the same as if it was a bigger one.. we were 8 people and they could have either give it for free or made us pay less ...because it was the last drops of the digestivo.. end of a bottle. What a pity .. small meaningful details of how to treat well clients

Tenía diversos informes en el interín, pero debo decir que el hecho de que estar no era agobiante, los camareros eran amables y eficientes y el grupo disfrutó de una mezcla y algunos platos compartidos. We ate here whilst staying at the Premier Inn down the road. We hadn't booked but it was quite early so they were able to accommodate us. The menu was varied and the food was good. We both really enjoyed our meals. They were more than happy to let us sample some wine before we ordered. Service was good and the surroundings were pleasant too.

Yo había organizado para encontrarse con mi hijo y su novia en la zona de Belsize Park y Artigiano ha sugerido como una buena opción de cocina italiana. A la llegada, el restaurante es un espacio luminoso y abierto, nos dieron una bienvenida cálida y sentaron rápidamente. El menú era sencillo, con un menú fijo (con opciones) o a la carta.

Belsize Park es una zona particularmente agradable de el noroeste de Londres, justo bajando la colina de Hampstead, cerca de la ciudad de Camden y Primrose Hill, muy bullicioso, frondoso y que es como su propia aldea. Hay dos centros ocupados, Englands Lane y el pueblo en sí. Es en el pueblo Artigiano, un edificio moderno de buen gusto, con grandes ventanas que se abren a la calle. Nos había dado cuenta de que en la zona anterior, y cinco de nosotros fuimos en una noche de calor suficiente para sentarse en la parte delantera con las ventanas abiertas. Qué sorpresa muy agradable. Tuvimos una comida excepcionalmente buena de principio a fin, algunos peces espléndido - atún marinado como entrante, carne a la parrilla para un atún brillante principal, mero, un gran escalope de ternera, verduras, y algunos excelentes postres realmente buena - strudel, intensa tirolés brownie de chocolate con helado. El servicio era amable aunque un poco a la deriva a veces. Sobre 50 libras por cabeza, tres excelentes campos, buen pan y aceitunas para empezar, y varias copas de vino y otras bebidas. Ahora hemos estado yendo a este restaurante por muchos años. Cuando empezó era muy bueno. Luego nos fuimos y nos dejamos para rato. Cuando nos cuando volvimos yo creo que la administración había cambiado y era realmente bueno. Buen menú con comida italiana bien de precio razonable.

We had booked Artigiano as a joint celebration dinner for my 70th birthday and my brother and sister in law ruby wedding anniversary. I have visited Artigiano many times and the food is always consistently good. The only downside to this visit and no fault of the restaurant is that the restaurant only had one other table occupied that night. This was mainly due to the summer holidays and people being away. Normally the place is buzzing. This however did not detract from a delightful evening

Artigiano is a local Italian restaurant which we always enjoy. There is a good range of fish, which is what we normally choose, and the staff are always very pleasant and not in your face. What we like most of all is that you can speak to the people on your table without having to shout as the noise level is very acceptable . The whole restaurant always looks bright with lovely white tablecloths.

Asked for a cake, or anything special to celebrate a birthday. Was promised something over the phone. Did anything arrive? If at all it was ever going to arrive, we didn't wait to find out. The food was average, the service was very poor, had to wait for the waiter for a long time in between the courses. In the end we gave up and missed the dessert course. It's was supposed to have been a birthday treat , with a cake promised when booking the table on the phone. But on the day nothing materialised .Even when purchasing two bottles of wine, the bottles were taken and we had to wait with empty glasses for a long time before being refilled. When I asked for a bucket of ice I was ignored.Not the type of place to go to for a special occasion. My first and last time.

We booked a table at Artigiano with the intention to only have a snack and glass of wine in order to see the jazz band play last night. However when we arrived the atmosphere seemed lively and we were placed on a lovely table by the window where all the doors were open. We then decided to have a meal and order a bottle of wine (exceptional prices for great wines, recommend 2013 Tignanello). The mark up for wine is no where as ridiculous as many other London restaurants we have visited. Both of us went for the beef which was exceptional (medium/rare). It was well cooked and sat on a bed of polenta. The portion was generous enough to fill us both up! Service was good and staff are friendly. Considering the atmosphere, quality of food and location of the restaurant, you are certainly getting your money's worth!! We highly recommend other reviewers visit this place before reading the negative comments!

We have not been for a year after a disappointing meal. This time we were very impressed especially with he daily menu.

We ate here on Thursday 18th May. Although it was raining hard outside, we sat in the front part of the restaurant and had a view of the street outside- we hope our next visit the weather will be better and sit by the bi-fold open doors.Food was excellent, and cooked to perfection, I believe the chef comes from the North of Italy, so was a change to taste the food cooked from this part of Italy. Complimentary home baked bread, good selection of starters hot & cold, and we choose the marinated Tuna, and veal fillets with a tasty sun dried tomato sauce.Great desserts, all plates tastefully plated and tasted even better... um yummy.We will certainly be returning.... and would recommend ... staff all friendly and efficient, wait between courses just right so we could savor the 3 courses.Good selection of wines also.Thank you for a great evening ....pity about the weather!!!!!

We have always had good luck with the food here. It seems to be authentic Italian, most dishes are good, but none outstanding, and a few poor. Ambience is nice - quiet, clean, airy, roomy. Service is highly variable - usually odd and disappointing, with the occasional surprise to the upside. Prices are higher than it deserves. But, given it is our local, we keep going back, hoping for improvement. Their cafe next door is similar - good food, (friendly but) poor service.

Great overall. Had been told about this restaurant a while back. Been meaning to come for ages. Will come again with the family. Good food. Lovely atmosphere. In a lovely area too!

Its been a while since our last visit but how happy we were to return. We had a lovely evening and were very well looked after as well as pointed gently towards things to try. The menu prompted enjoyable debate and made our final choices feel like an adventure. Flavours and combinations were satisfying and the standard of cooking delighted us with superb attention to readiness - a master class in al dente cuisine! Looking forward to returning soon.

Our small book group met here last night and for once we were able to hear each other. So full marks for virtually no background music and a half full restaurant. The menu is classic Italian. I started with linguine vongole with chilli - lots of clams, very little chilli but good nevertheless and moved on to a breaded veal escalope that was enormous and very dry. I could only eat half. So no marks for that. My friends fared better. They shared some good looking starters - calimari, beetroot and bean salad and a polenta dish that was less successful (personally I have never understood the attraction of polenta - what is the point of polenta?). They then shared a big sea bass between three people (plenty of lovely moist fish)with a small portion of mushroom risotto and sides of beans and almonds and spinach. I was envious. We shared a vanilla panna cotta and chocolate fondant for desert. Much talking about books, politics and travelling also occurred and a good time was had by all. Would come again just for the possibility of talking without shouting.

My small book group very much enjoyed the quiet ambience of Artigiano the other evening. We ate reasonably well from the classical Italian menu, some things being better than others. My veal escalope was dry and hard but the large fish (bass, bream?) shared by my friends was wonderfully moist. My starter of linguini vongole with chilli was good too, as were my friends starters of beetroot and bean salad and calamari. We drank a bottle of Argentinian Maalbec which was good and better priced than the Italian wines.

Little hidden gem in Belsize Park in north London. Classical Italian dishes made and presented very well.

We had been recommended to this restaurant. First class, lovely menu, food is fresh and tasty, the staff are very friendly, definitely a return visit. There is jazz in a Friday evening. In the summer you can sit outside.

Per un'italiana Londra è sempre una gioia trovare sapori di casa, se sono veri piatti italiani che state cercando questo è il ristorante che fa per voi! Menu ben assortito, avrei voluto ordinare tutto, proprio per questo tornerò, per provare nuovi piatti che sicuramente non deluderanno! Assolutamente consigliato.

Great little Italian restaurant - authentic food. No frills. Perfect Saturday night out for two.

Welcoming and on the ball service in a light and airy setting. Veg was overdone to my taste coming in small and poorly presented portions. Smoked salmon tasted oversalty however main course Sea Bass was perfect. I expected better overall but enjoyed Artigiano nonetheless.

The chance of spotting a celeb "among the affluent locals" according to the blurb (if that's what floats your boat).Not so good: General comment from friends that food was OK but bland. Lack of wow factor. The Etrusca Group who own this chain (they have three other differently-branded restaurants in London) call their food "uncomplicated". Too right.Bad: Brusque waiter. I said "Are you taking drinks orders?" He said "No" and strode off.Terrible: My veal escalop. Wafer-thin strip of tasteless chewy grey meat in thick breadcrumbs glistening with oil, accompanied by a small pile of leaves. £17.50. Honestly, I've had more fun with a breaded chicken fillet from Aldi for a quid.Painful: The prices. At least £50 a head with wine and trimmings. I realise it's a posh part of West London but for that sort of money I expect an outstanding meal, not a barely-average Italian.Appalling: The aggressive comments from the owner when anyone criticises his restaurant on TA. No doubt he's scribbling already...Conclusion: Locals with plump wallets seem to appreciate this place as a smart venue for an unchallenging evening out. Good for them. I'm not one. To say I've had tastier food at Pizza Hut and more cheerful service at McDonalds might be stretching the point. But it's not far off.

We had a very peasant experience last Sunday, the food was very good, especially my risotto. There is a beautiful atmosphere , the restaurant is spacious and quite.

Dinner was as delicious as ever - their new manager was delightful; joking with my 93 year old mother/in-law and he over heard my husband was uncomfortable having just had a back operation so he popped next door to their cafe and brought him an alternative chair.

A group of us recently went to Artigiano for dinner. We were lucky to get a table booked last minute for a Saturday night. The restaurant is in a lovely part of London, and the atmosphere inside was fabulous - it had a real buzz. We all had a starter - I had the Carpaccio (which was lovely), and then the Lobster pasta (again, very nice). The portions are good sizes. Two of the party shared the antipasti starter, which was excellent! We also ordered a bottle of wine for the table. The wine was nice and good value- there's a good list to chose from. They do a slightly old fashioned move of keeping the wine away from the table and topping you up themselves, which I find a little bit of a pain but is no big deal really. Overall a lovely experience, and a couple of us have already been back for more!!

A good choice of authentic Italian dishes with a reasonably priced 2 or 3 course dinner. We enjoyed the chicken liver and bacon salad, linguini vongole as starters - for our main courses the calves liver and home made ravioli were really good. Wine is reasonably priced and the service is efficient and friendly.

A great local restaurant consistently good.

There is a small nice coffee shop next door, where you can find great Italian coffee (flat white is bellissimo!) and apple strudel as strudel, not a pie! It is also possible to have a full main course or normal breakfast or lunch.

The service was surly. The olives were expensive and from a tin. They over charged us for the wine and made a big fuss about putting the mistake right. The food was bland and uninspired.

Belsize Park is a wonderful area and this Italian restaurant on Belsize Terrace offers a lovely place to have a very tasty dinner. The food was very good and the service attentive. It was a fair evening and the front wall was opened up to provide al fresco dining.

We have been to your restaurant on many occasions but last night we and 2 friends had booked to go to another restaurant 2 minutes away and on arrival found the restaurant was out of action and had not been told of this even though they had our phone number. We were amazed that we had not been notified of this especially as we do not live in the area. So we thought we would pop into Artigiano even knowing how busy you are on a Saturday evening and took the chance that possibly there might be a spare table. We walked in and the man on the front desk could not have been more welcoming. We asked if there was a table free and he said that there would be in an hour. We asked if it was possible to wait and have a drink but obviously you do not have a bar so it was not possible. The man saw how miserable we all looked and he said come back in in half an hour. So we popped up the road and had a drink and half an hour later we were back. Still so warmly welcoming our table was prepared and we sat down..Our meal was delicious and the Malbec was deliciously ripe and juicy. My starter the spaghetti alla sorrentina was al dente and wonderful and my main the vegetarian ravioli was cooked to perfection. My partner had the risotto to start with and the liver as his main and were in his words totally scrumptious. We were not initially going to have desserts but one lady at the next table to us ordered two for herself and when they arrived at her table we could not resist and ordered chocolate fondant and vanilla ice cream particularly yummy and raspberry sorbet. Our friends were also very impressed with their meals. So to conclude what could have been a disaster of an evening turned into a triumph on your part and we cannot thank you enough. We will of course be returning soon.

I discovered this restaurant on an afternoon walk through the Belsize Park neighborhood where we were staying on our holiday. So glad to have found it. The menu is pretty extensive and all four of us were happy with what we ordered. We were also lucky enough to have a fair evening and they had the front of the restaurant open for al fresco dining. If you have a choice I'd eat in the upper section at the front of the restaurant. The Maitre d' worked very hard to make sure everyone was satisfied. Our server's English, however, was somewhat limited and there were a few miscues, but all was resolved. A nice restaurant in a very lovely neighborhood.

My husband and I called in last night for a late dinner. Lovely service by friendly and efficient staff. I had the duck and my husband the risotto - both delicious. Great wine & food and we felt reasonably priced.We are holidaying in London and staying in this area for a couple of weeks - will definitely be returning to try some of the other treats on the menu.Delicious!!

This is my local Italian restaurant, so I keep trying it in the hope it will improve, but it's just not value for money. The food is average and one can do so much better elsewhere in London and end up with a much cheaper bill. The starters were fine, but the main course chicken escalopes were like leather soles and, apart from the artichoke garnish, one had to pay extra for any accompanying vegetables. The fish was overcooked. We didn't stay for dessert as the room was so noisy and the house phone went off constantly with a very loud irritating ringtone. The harassed waitress did her best, but the manager ignored us and never came to check if we were OK. When I think of the normal happy welcoming atmosphere of most Italian restaurants, I feel sad that this is the one I have around the corner.
