Always the best , service , food & ambience are like a good traditional Italian Restaurant should be ! This is the standard for others to aspire to !

We had a slightly small table for our group of 6, but adequate and with a proper table cloth and napkins. Half had vegetarian meals. All were happy with their choices of starter and main course. We didn't have room for desert. Fresh, high quality ingredients, well prepared. Good service. Villa Bianca is a reliable restaurant and has been for many years.

We were here to celebrate our grandson's birthday had a wonderful meal from an extensive menu with so many dishes that it makes it difficult to choose. We will have to keep coming back to try them all. Nice ambience & pleasant friendly staff who sang happy birthday to our grandson. Of special note was the crab linguini & the rack of lamb. I am the only person in our party who drinks & it was nice to find a varied selection of wines by the glass on offer. A big thank you to all staff members for a very enjoyable evening.Michael De Micheli.

Nice restaurant and true Italian!

We were early and were seated without any fuss! Lovely food great service! Wonderful restaurant. Have eaten here before and it has maintained a consistent level excellence few restaurants can achieve! Went here again Feb 2024 wonderful attention to detail food and service amazing. We will continue coming back!

We had a wonderful meal at Villa Bianca for a family celebration - the food was superb, all the staff were friendly and helpful - it was great fun - we will be back

The food was exceptional. We were a fairly big party and everyone enjoyed thier food. The service was impeccable and have no complaints. I will say that the pianist upstairs plays well and adds atmosphere but he seemed so grumpy. My younger one wanted to sit quitely and watch him play and I think his demeanor scared her a little bit. I am probably being a bit unfair as he played very well.

I've been going to this restaurant for almost 20 years! Last night we went to celebrate my sons 14th birthday and as always the food and the service were first class. It amazes me how consistent this restaurant has been over the years. We loved the fact that they surprised my son with dessert and a very loud rendition of Happy Birthday. Quite simply an excellent Italian restaurant. Special thanks to Allessandro and his father, who always look after us every time we go.

This is a superb Italian. Full of flavour and quality . From the moment you step in to the moment you exit . The hallmark of any good restaurant is the service and food , and Villa Bianca has this in abundance. We have been to many Italian restaurants in central London but Villa Bianca remains the best for consistency. Highly recommend it.

The service and ambience at Villa Bianca is always excellent. Tonight’s specials were delicious, fresh and inspired. My starter of porcini mushroom bruschetta with truffle sauce was gorgeous, main course halibut so fresh & cooked perfectly. Dessert of apple strudel was divine. Wines too were great. We will return

A lovely authentic Italian restaurant, been in existence since at least the 70's when I first had the pleasure of dining at this classic top-rated eatery. 5-star cuisine and service, standard.

When you live in a place for a while it is easy and perhaps inevitable that you fall into bad habits: waiting to order the same drink in the same understaffed pub as a crush of tourists sip halves of London Pride by the bar; queueing for ages on a Saturday morning to buy the same loaf of bread from the same posh bakery as people waiting for their coffee to be made; not talking to the charity guy on the high street because he insists on calling you "young man/woman". Following a delicious lunch at the weekend, I now realise that not going to Villa Bianca was a deeply regrettable habit that gradually encrusted itself on our lives in NW3. In the two decades we have called Hampstead home, I think we have been there once, back in the mists of time when the high street boasted more places to buy clothes than have your nails done. So long ago that I had forgotten just how good this place is and how comfily reassuring "old school" is. And Villa Bianca is the definition of "old school": no £20 credit card charge to guarantee your table, just a phone call on the morning of your booking to make sure you are actually going to turn up, delicious Italian food served up with a sparkling efficiency that left our party slightly slack jawed (starters that all arrived at the same time! not waiting 25 minutes for mains!!! friendly without being overly intrusive!!!!!). Okay, if you order meat or fish you pay West End prices. But they cook lemon sole like their lives depend on it, the pasta dishes are perfection on a plate and even the filter coffee is good. If you live in Hampstead or the surrounds and haven't been to VB in a while, go. If you haven't been to VB, go. It's a wee gem. (And by the way, the maître d' belts out a damn good version of "Happy Birthday")

Très belle accueil et un super service ! Quand à la cuisine n’en parlons pas 😋 c’était excellent. Juste a trouvé une solution en période d’hiver concernant l’entrée ( peut-être un rideau en velours pour protéger du froid 🥶 lorsque les clients font entrée et sortie). Je vous conseille fortement un passage obligatoire par se restaurant.

LOVELY Late lunch and although we were in the restaurant after 3 o'clock closing were made most eelcome and not hurtied. We will be back. I suspect has a lovely warm atmosphere on a dark evening . Thank you.

Situado en una pequeña travesía y coqueta calle de Hampstead. El acceso al local, muy común en todo Londres, pasas directamente de la calle al comedor. Local que consta de planta baja y un primer piso. Es bastante acogedor, si bien en el comedor de la zona baja las mesas están demasiado próximas entre sí. En el piso superior tienen habilitada una chimenea con fuego alimentado por gas, lo que hace que desprenda un olor molesto, que se hace desagradable durante toda la cena. Los platos están bien presentados, y las personas que atienden son atentas y amables. Las escaleras para acceder al piso superior son incómodas como en el 90 por ciento de los locales antiguos.

Lovely lunch celebration. We were greeted by the host and shown to a nice private table at the rear, service was attentive throughout. We all enjoyed the meal very much, haven’t had such fine Italian food in a long time. The salmon w as particularly good, the past dishes were delicious. We finished with deserts and coffee. It was a very enjoyable meal with superb service.

Open since the early nineteen seventies, Villa Bianca is both an institution of Hampstead and an old school neighbourhood Italian restaurant. While the food is tasty and authentic, the interior (split across two levels and four outdoor tables), service and atmosphere are outdated. While there are six staff looking after the tables, only two of them take orders which makes ordering a challenge at peak times. The prices are on the premium end even for Hampstead and other Italian restaurants in the area. The decor is a mismatch of modern and antique. With that said the food hits the spot. The lobster soup (£12) was perfectly cooked. The whole sea bass (£30) was fresh with a slight lemon sauce. The veal milanese (£29.95) was crispy and tender with a generous portion.

Delicious food and delightful atmosphere. Most memorable was Alessandro, the waiter--kind, patient, fun and incredibly helpful.

It was a beautiful sunny October day as we sat upstairs on the terrace eating delicious Italian food and listening to their wonderful pianist. So great full to have these moments when the world is in chaos 🙏

On entering the restaurant you get a lovely friendly welcome and greeting from the head waiter. We were shown to our table which was very nicely laid out with crisp white table cloth which gives the place a traditional feel. There is a large selection on the menu of fish, meat, pasta etc to suit all tastes. The quality of the food was excellent and very nicely prepared and presented. You don’t go away hungry as the portion sizes are good. We didn’t have to wait long for our food between courses. The venue has a lovely atmosphere and being tucked away in a quiet side road in Hampstead Village means it’s a quiet and peaceful setting. We really enjoyed our meal here and look forward to returning soon. Thanks to the attentive staff for making our visit so special and enjoyable.

Food was incredible, didn’t catch the name of our waitress and waiter but young man and women working upstairs on 30/09/23 were exceptional. Pianist made the atmosphere amazing. We will 100% revisit.

Lovely Italian restaurant at the heart of Hampstead. Always friendly and great service. Hearty delicious food. Cosy ambiance, great for family occasions and for romantic evenings. We've been coming here for over 30 years, first as a young couple and now with the whole family and it has never disappointed us!!

I last ate here 18 years ago and, despite living locally, have never returned as I found the patrons to be on the slightly older side. Having heard that the food was very good we decided to try it again and although the food lived up to its reputation unfortunately the service let it down. We found our waiter (seemingly one of the managers) to be rather unfriendly and unwelcoming. The restaurant was not particularly busy so the atmosphere was a bit staid but if the manager had been more friendly and less condescending we would have enjoyed our evening more.

This is a beautiful restaurant with good food, but the host was very unfriendly. In fact, he was rude. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation. The door was open and the host was standing at the host station, so we entered and my wife greeted him. He angrily replied “we are not open yet and we are very busy, so we can seat you but we cannot provide you any service.” He did not say another word to us the entire time we were there. We noticed that the other staff members seemed very much on edge. No smiles, no greetings, they all seemed unhappy. No one thanked us for our business. Pathetic. We won’t be back.

Very much an old school dining experience. Classic upscale Italian fare with a fairly stuffy white tablecloth vibe. I personally like it and the food has always been good.

Very intimidating service! Heavy atmosphere since you have someone from the service on you all the time. Old style Italian food and service. I do not recommend it! Expensive for what they offer.

Had a wonderful lunch. Set menu and good value (especially for Hampstead). The tuna was exceptional and service excellent.

Hidden gem. Ravioli was sublime. Good selection of Italian wines by the glass. Top notch service.

Delicious vegan options available. Sat outside under new heaters on a cold evening - great location to sit outside. Feel the restaurant is missing an opportunity by not advertising the vegan options on its menu / printing a separate menu with vegan option.

I used to go regularly when I lived in Hampstead and then by chance I called them on a Saturday night and they were able to give me a table for two. It was not the best table but I was last to join the party and I was here for good-no very good authentic Italian food and I was on the whole delighted. Unfortunately the spinach was cold but the veal with mushrooms was just how I remembered it and I really enjoyed it. The zucchini was also excellent. All in a great meal. Did not have starters as my companion said she did not want one. Had the sorbet as a desert which was good. I will not leave it so long and to make sure I have a seat at the table will book early. The waiting staff were also very attentive.

Have to say although I have lived in Hampstead for 30 years it must be 20 years since I ate at Villa Bianca. It was chosen as the restaurant to celebrate the birthday of one of the UK's most eminent QCs. My expectations were not high especially having looked at some of the TripAdvisor reviews. Have to say from the booking to the leaving after our meal, I found everyone at the restaurant genuinely friendly and very helpful and this despite the restaurant being full. The service was perfect; always available without being intrusive. The food was delicious. I have visited Tuscany for over 30 years twice a year and have to say the dishes all 4 of us present were served tasted wonderful and equally as good Tuscany. The wine was also delicious (Brunello di Montalcino). Would not hesitate to recommend the restaurant to anyone. Can't talk about value as the bill was surreptitiously paid by of of the other guests but have heard he was very pleasantly surprised .

I just don’t get itHow can a restaurant’s reviews range from absolutely dreadful 1-star to sublime 5-star ratings?We live in Essex and so for us, Villa Bianca is not round the corner. Each time we’ve come, the experience has been nothing short of excellent and am at a loss to understand where these bad reviews come from.Four of us booked for 8:15 on Saturday night. We got there on time and the place was absolutely rammed – not a spare table to be seen – except for ours. Good luck or good management? Who cares? We sat down on time and were given menus straight away.All the staff we interacted with – front of house, waiting, maître d’ and the young chap who took our empty plates away were polite, efficient and friendly. If we wanted to chat, they chatted but were not all over us like a rash.We all enjoyed our food. Fresh Mediterranean Calamari rings were delicious, and the minestrone soup was pronounced “one of the best”. I was delighted that Beef Stroganoff was one of the specials – it had a lovely spicy/tangy flavour and there was a lot of it. So much so that the tempting desserts remained just that – tempting but no sale. My wife had Halibut in a creamy wild mushroom & leek sauce which was “nice and meaty – just the way I like it”. The Vitello a La Villa Bianca was such a large portion it wouldn’t fit on a plate and was brought out on a slate and while you might say it’s hard to mess up Beef Fillet in a peppercorn sauce, it was pronounced equally delicious. With a couple of beers, some wine but no desserts, the bill including service came to £228 for 4 – not cheap by any means but certainly not expensive if value for money takes in the quality of the food, the way it was served and the ambience of the place it was served in.Well worth our journey from and back to Essex and we will be returning to Villa Bianca sooner rather than later

Atmosphere, food, wine, service perfect. Starters was really big portions. We share a tomahawk that was perfectly cooked medium. Congrats to your chef. And we were so happy that we order a second bottle of wine and even if we didn’t had anymore space for food we couldn’t resist to tiramisu. Alessandro, Alessia and all the team thank you. Let's be frank. You come to a restaurant for good food. Never mind if the manager is charming. The staff may be helpful, and the restaurant nicely done up. I was excited at having a good meal! Wrong!The food was awful for a top Italian restaurant. The Sorrentina pasta was described with Marzano tomatoes and fresh pasta. It seemed to be an awful pre-cooked mixture put in an oven dish. The cheese was too lumpy. Having spent a long time in Italy, I cannot believe such poor quality. The tuna was dry, too salty and overcooked.What a disappointment.

Die Hummer Spaghetti waren sensationell. So ein gemütliches kleines feines Restaurant in der wunderbaren Gegend. Die Plätze vor der Tür sind besonders, aber die Gerichte auch. Vorspeisen und Hauptspeisen waren wirklich gut und das Restaurant einen Besuch unbedingt wert.

I have not written a review for a while but felt compelled to do so as cannot believe the recent poor reviews for this restaurant. I must have been in a different place!! We had a fabulous evening six of us for my mother in laws birthday. The food was excellent and the atmosphere lovely. The service was friendly. Yes it was on the expensive side but well worth it for a really lovely evening. Will definitely return.

Me and my partner were looking forward to this meal; but overall it ended a disappointment. From the off the atmosphere wasn’t great despite being very busy. The food was nice, over-priced for what it was, but never the less nice. The biggest issue was the service… managed to get a glass of wine after 45 minutes and a starter after an hour! The staff were unapologetic and certainly not friendly at all (don’t think I saw one smile all evening!). If they improved their service maybe the atmosphere may have been better … won’t be returning sadly

Have been coming to Villa Bianca for 25/30 years and have generally never had a bad meal. Tonight we went as a family and the food was sincerely awful. This used be a place that we came to enjoy the ambience. Post Covid that ambience has been decimated. With the exception of the slightly older maitre d’’ Who has been at the restaurant for for about 20 years, the rest of the staff were more akin to being at an undertakers with the personality of snails on Valium. Totally no sense of humour whatsoever or even an attempt to smile. We couldn’t get out quick enough return to being happy.

We have been coming to this very pretty restaurant for over 20 years and we Have never had a bad meal here .On Sunday evening after a surprisingly sunny London afternoon we paid another visit setting outside Having minestrone - delish - then lobster risotto , excellent with plenty of firm tasty lobster for my wife french trimmed Rack of lamb also enjoyed .Service - well reading trip you would think some reviewers were talking about some other restaurant it was very pleasant Friendly and efficient - as always .This is a going out sort of place which is quite rare in Hampstead It was nice just walking back to our flat rather than a taxi ride back from the west end .

That's all I have to say. Bad food, an unbelievable rip off. Superb location. Milking hapless diners. Dreadful. Really dreadful.

We were so looking forward to our visit here. The photos and location looked amazing; pretty, quiet and with an upmarket ambience. We hadn’t eaten out for a while owing to recent restrictions. It was a lovely evening when we arrived. But problems began soon after this. When we gave our name ( having pre-booked) they took ages to find it, scrolling through lists with pens coming out and looking everywhere. In the end the suited ‘owner’/manager had to intervene to find it. We were shown upstairs. This manager reeled off the specials at break neck speed and brought us some Pelligrino water which was rather unceremoniously put on the table. Menus were brought. That was the last access we had to any service. Time went on. We asked after half an hour if we could order. ‘I won’t be a minute, then I’ll take your order’ was the reply. Some ten minutes later, no service. We asked the others putting out cutlery. No response. It seemed as though this boss wanted to take all the orders. After glaring at us from the other side of the room as the assistant said we’d complained. Some 50 minutes after our arrival we walked out. Needless to say we will never return unless under new management.

The restaurant is set in a nice location down a narrow street close to Hampstead Station within a beautiful building and a peaceful pianist playing upstairs.For starters, the Parmigiana di Melanzane was very oily and the main of linguine with clams lacked the garlic and chilli it was advertised with but worst of all was a number of clam shells had cracked into small pieces and mixed in the pasta. Not a pleasant experience having to regularly pick out the shells from my mouth throughout the meal. The tiramisu dessert was dry and lacked flavour. The service is fast although this could be due to a quiet Friday night. The gentleman dressed in the suit who might be the owner is a welcoming guy and engaging with customers regularly.This was our first visit and the menu is enticing. Unfortunately, the food whilst presented very well on this occasion was disappointing but willing to give it another go.

Hampstead is one of the most amazing neighborhoods in London, and I guess being a restaurant there gives you some justification for high prices. And the food is good too. Still, you can get similar food for half the price in other Italian restaurants in London, including (so I heard) in Hampstead. Still, the Minestrone was ok, and the vegetarian pasta was very good.

What a lovely restaurant. Very authentic, lovely helpful staff, service was excellent and the food amazing. I can not fault this Italian restaurant. We definitely visit again. Reasonably priced.

The food tastes divine. I had the goats cheese for starter and lamb for main, both delicious. My boyfriend loved the calamari for starter but the milanese was a little disappointing for main as it just came with a bit of lettuce, we had to order a side of potato once it arrived. Decor inside was lovely and they had a great pianist playing upstairs. I think it would be lovely to have the pianist downstairs for everyone to watch whilst eating, but I'm sure the restaurant have their reasons as to why not (perhaps too loud or not enough space?).The restaurant is a little pricey but that should be expected for the area and the quality of food.

we went on friday evening and it was full.All staff were wearing masks.The food is good and not overpriced compaired to some other restaurans and service was fine.There is an upstairs and we found out on tuesday/friday/saturdays a man plays the piano if you like that sort of thing.My main course duck was fine and I ordered mash and green beans extra charge but needed not to have ordered the beans as the dish came with a small amount of beans and I found that too much with the extra green beans.The wine is reasonable priced the house wine £19.50 souve and other good makes under £30.We would go back again.

Great find just off the Hampstead High Street, you could even say it’s a hidden gem!!!Food was great, Main courses delicious, if you are lucky enough to find the Tagliatelle with Lobster on the daily “Specials” I would definitely recommend it, one of our party also really enjoyed a beautifully cooked Duck Breast. However as gorgeous as these were, nothing came close to the Homemade Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli. The only thing I would suggest is definitely ordering one or two side dishes to enjoy with your Main courses.We enjoyed a little break before indulging in our Desserts. My Brownie with Pistachio Gelato was great and the Chocolate Fondant really oozy!!!!I did read somewhere this Restaurant was not taking C-19 seriously, sorry we saw no evidence of this at all during our Lunch, I also read the Restaurant was “expensive”, sorry but it is a similar price point to a High Street Chain found not too far from Villa Bianca.All in all, a great little find in Hampstead

Absolutely no Covid 19 precautions whatsoever. Tables close together,elderly waiters not wearing masks.When it was mentioned to the Manager that he should be wearing a mask he subsequently became rude and insulting. Food very poor especially for an Italian restaurant. Starters that should have been hot were cold in the centre. Pasta uninspiring and overpriced.The dessert special of the day was not good either.All that this place seems to have going for it is the location.We recently read reviews going back to July and a diner had pointed out that the food was poor and that there were no Covid precautions.Wish we had read the reviews beforehand.Avoid this place.

We enjoyed some nice wine, but the expensive average food was not hot enough, and cocktails took almost 20 minutes to arrive (after our meal). Our visit was particularly marred by the staff who, during the middle of a pandemic, cannot understand how to wear PPE properly. The two older men (and one lady) brought our food without a mask on or incorrectly worn. After we twice politely asked them to fix this, one responded that it makes it “difficult to breath”. Wake up. They sang happy birthday (twice) to other guests, without masks on properly, within a small enclosed environment where the tables were too close together. We were also not asked to sign in with the Track and Trace app beforehand, which is irresponsible. We have contacted the owner to express our concerns, who has not returned our call. We have had many an enjoyable meal at this restaurant in the past, but sadly we will not be back.

Un grupo de cuatro amigos decidió disfrutar de un buen almuerzo italiano, sin embargo, fue realmente decepcionante ya que habíamos llamado antes para asegurarnos de que el restaurante "Villa Bianca" estuviera tomando las precauciones necesarias que confirmaron antes de reservar. En primer lugar, quiero decir que el servicio fue excelente, pero lamentablemente la comida no fue como esperaba. Fui con una de mis mejores amigas y su mamá porque mi amiga estuvo allí hace un par de años para su aniversario de bodas y tuvo una muy buena experiencia en general.Pedí la pasta de tagliatelle con alcachofas, tomates cherry y cigalas. Lamentablemente, las gambas estaban demasiado cocidas y creo que es imperdonable para un plato que cuesta 21. Para ser honesto, no era la mejor pasta, porque 1. Vengo de una familia de chefs y 2. Comí muy buena pasta en otros restaurantes por el mismo precio o menos aquí y en otros países. El entrante (goteras y sopa de patatas) y el postre eran buenos. Espero que realmente tomen este comentario como constructivo para mejorar este plato si continúan cobrando esa cantidad de dinero.

È giunta l'ora di pranzo, ci troviamo davanti al Villa Bianca... perché non entrare. Un cortese e navigato cameriere ci accoglie col sorriso e ci fa accomodare nella bella sala del piano terra, giusto compromesso di eleganza e semplicità (molto apprezzata, dato il particolare periodo, la presenza di detergente/disinfettante a disposizione di ogni tavolo). Menù con buona scelta di pietanze. Qualità sopra alle aspettative. Servizio attento e un giusto prezzo ci fanno lasciare il locale con piena soddisfazione. Peccato non aver prenotato... il balconcino al piano superiore era veramente delizioso.

Este fue mi restaurante local favorito. La comida siempre ha sido excelente anoche se estropeó tristemente por una piedra encontrada en mi plato principal de cordero en croute. Cuando le mostré esto al personal, me hicieron sentir como si fuera una estúpida y una mentirosa. No fue una experiencia agradable en absoluto. Negaron que fuera una piedra, afirmando que era un hueso. No soy un idiota El cordero es uno de mis platos favoritos y conozco la diferencia entre un hueso y una piedra. Hay una diferencia significativa en la textura y especialmente en cómo se siente cuando la muerdes. Esto casi me rompe el diente. El personal se apresuró a llevarlo a la cocina y tirarlo.Lo más perturbador después de haber sido llamado indirectamente estúpido y mentiroso fue que no hubo disculpas. Ni siquiera se ofrecieron a quitarle el precio al postre de mi amigo.Ni siquiera pude decir nada porque mi amiga estaba muy embarazada y no quería que estuviera más estresada ya que todo este incidente ya había estropeado la comida.La falta de disculpas significa que ninguno de nosotros volvería ni lo recomendaríamos a nuestros amigos o familiares, lo cual es realmente triste, ya que hasta este episodio siempre fue una experiencia agradable. Ahora simplemente nos sentimos insultados.Afortunadamente, hay muchos más restaurantes que podemos disfrutar y recomendar donde el cliente aún es valorado y no ridiculizado o esencialmente llamado mentiroso.Visitamos un viernes por la noche y no salimos a comer para ayudar por la noche, por lo que el restaurante debería haber tenido un poco más de respeto por sus clientes, ya que claramente no estábamos allí para una buena oferta.

Es una pena que el servicio fuera tan malo, ya que la comida era muy buena. El gerente fue extremadamente grosero y echó a perder toda la noche. Fue ofensivo e increíblemente desagradable. Para nada familiar y no era acogedor para los niños. No malgastes tu dinero aquí.

Bueno, esa es la primera vez, supongo, cenando en un restaurante bastante caro y obteniendo una respuesta tan defensiva. Pero claramente no porque los italianos son muy cálidos y acogedores y te hacen sentir como en casa, incluso si es un restaurante de Michelin (o debería decir especialmente entonces), pero este lugar no era nada de eso.Definitivamente no volveré.

Vine aquí la otra noche, un grupo de 5 personas sentadas en el piso de arriba estaba ansioso por haber tenido una gran experiencia en cuanto a comida y ambiente la última vez.Comenzó con pan, esto fue bueno.Seguido por Bruschetta, el tomate no tenía sabor y estaba muy frío, probablemente congelado, lo que puedo entender con los restaurantes en este momento dada la situación de COVID.El fagioli de pasta era muy agradable, sin embargo, la ensalada de aguacate y mozzarella nuevamente sabía insípida y estaba tan fría como la Brushetta.Los platos principales tenían el especial de mariscos y el risotto de hongos con buñuelos de calabacín nuevamente, lamentablemente, incluso con una buena dosis de sal, simplemente le faltaba sabor. .El servicio fue excelente, no tengo quejas, el ambiente y todo el ambiente fue perfecto, nos encantó el piano, el restaurante estaba muy ocupado y también fue genial verlo dada la pandemia.Bill no está tan mal 200 por 5 con alcohol, no nos quedamos por los postres, ¿nos vemos en otros 15 años mientras el camarero gritaba al salir?

The first person to greet us was a brusque reception person. The meal that followed was Not as good as we had experienced before. The minestrone soup was passable and lacked flavour. The halibut was better, hence the 3 star rating. Unlikely to revisit .

Further to our lunch with our friends yesterday we reflect it was an uninspirational expensive meal served by dour rather unwelcoming staff!The minestrone soup was watery, no bread was offered and the sardines for a main course were spoilt by a bland sauce as I was not offered the option of plain grilled, which is normal I suggest.Suffice to say we shall not be recommending this restaurant or visiting again anytime soon.

Fuimos a cenar aquí para el Día de San Valentín y quedé muy decepcionado con el pésimo servicio y la comida mediocre y cara. No pudieron localizar nuestra reserva a pesar de que llamamos dos veces por adelantado para confirmar y verificar que tenían opciones veganas. Después de estar sentados, nos tomó 30 minutos obtener un menú de bebidas, tuvimos que pedirlo específicamente. En este momento (6:30 pm había aproximadamente un camarero por cada mesa ocupada). Tomó otros 15 minutos para obtener un buen menú. Las bebidas llegaron una hora después de estar sentados y el orden era incorrecto. El camarero que tomó el pedido fue muy grosero, impaciente y nos dijo que las cosas eran veganas ("el huevo es vegano, verdad"). Desafortunadamente cuando nuestra comida finalmente llegó, la mía estaba cubierta de mantequilla. Mi esposo había terminado su principal cuando finalmente salió mi orden correcta. También nos sirvieron aperitivos no veganos 3 veces. Ningún esfuerzo por parte del equipo para disculparse. Tan decepcionante para una comida vegana 100 para 2 con 2 bebidas.

Very friendly welcome at the restaurant. They have an extensive menu and choices for all tastes. I had the pasta with pesto (Genovese style) which was delicious followed by veal marsala with caponata vegetables. Dessert was apple strudel; all washed down with a very pleasant Italian Merlot. The prices were reasonable compared to West End restaurants and we had a thoroughly pleasant evening. My wife had minestrone followed by calves liver which she annouced was delicious. Our friends also enjoyed their meal and we agreed to return for another evening in the not too distant future.

The ambiance and the food was excellent. Great service! The staff was polite and friendly. A total gem off the beaten path!

I really like this place. The service isn’t the fastest but that’s fine because the food is top quality and the staff are friendly and attentive.The food is excellent. We had a selection of prawn, garlic breads and bruschetta to start and pastas, pizzas and fish dishes for mains.....all lovely....piping hot and fresh!We had a celiac with us and she was able to order pretty much what she wanted gluten free....always a bonus!It can get busy though so best to book

A good example why even good food is not enough for being a restaurant. It seems the cook knows his work well, but the service was impatient and arrogant as the atmosphere of the place. No wonder, the attitude of the owner towards his stuff was rude and in front of the customers. One more remark: if you are going to close the kitchen in 10 minutes you really have to say that at the door and not after your guests are in. Let them decide. Then do not push your guest out (even if it is non-verbal). By the way, Not a cheap restaurant.So what was left from the good food? almost nothing. An advise to the cook: find a better place.

This place is awesome a little piece of Italy in London forget the hype around Locatelli this is better and the real deal the vegetable risotto is fantastic chilli chicken for mains is highly recommended or try the halibut if you do desert tiramisu is amazing book now places like this are few and far between wines are great I recommend the Santa Cristina

This used to be my favourite , but not any more , we had a terrible lunch. A horrid bruchetta , with soggy bread and flavourless cold tomato . A restaurant full of screaming toddlers. And then my sea bass finally arrived. It was grey , soggy and full of bones. I sent it back but no member of staff seemed to care. Plus the side of caponata was full of far too hot chillis. Terrible food, careless service. This isn't fine dining but fading glory.

Booked a table for four for a special occasion. Took about 15 minutes to be seated on a tiny table. As seated we were recited the specials immediately with no view of the menu. Took another 20 minutes to be given two menus for four people and then another 15 for a drinks order to be taken which never arrived. Eventually having sat at the table for an hour we left. Horrible atmosphere as it was so loud it was like trying to have a meal in a sweaty night club. Overall truly disgusting service and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this terrible ‘restaurant’ at all costs. I would seriously go without a meal than try and eat here.

The staff had Italian warmth and finesse. They were welcoming and friendly,and also very efficient. The food was great. Oh, and the pianist was brilliant. We will return!

I have been eating at Villa Bianca for well over 30 years and it used to be a special, friendly and comfortable place to get great food. NOT any more....

Hidden in the heart of Hampstead, Villa Biance is worth trying. Despite the high price of the food, we had a pleasant dining experience with food of exquisite flavours. If only staff could crack a smile - we felt, at times, we were an imposition!

It was my daughters birthday we went to villa bianca with expections the food was nice the location is nice, wow do the staff let it down , we all felt 8 people that the staff are very unfriendly,rude,arrogant, if this was done intentionally im not sure but what ever it made for a horrible experience which is a shame as with nice friendly staff this could be a great place to dine , if it wasnt for it being my daughters birthday i would of had some serious complaining to do on the spot, would never go bk.

Dined with friends on my Birthday weekend in London - having been here before I hoped for the same great food and service - and I wasn't disappointed the food and wine were excellent and had the obligatory cake - candles and singing happy birthday at the end of the meal. Thanks to all at Villa Blanca - we will return

We really enjoyed this restaurant even there is no set menu this month, half portions were available. The staff were very courteous and extremely helpful, nothing to much trouble, great attention to details. We had great lunch and definitely we will be coming back just to listen Dean Martin.

Great Location, food was ok. service poor when considering the prices charged. Staff looked totally un- interested and leant zero to the experience.

Wandered for ages round Hampstead on a very hot day, looking for the perfect spot for lunch. Finally spotted Villa Bianca, down a quaint little street, its outside table looking inviting with crisp linen and sparkling glasses. The lovely Roman waiter seated us and talked us through the specials, from the other side of the shrubbery in the street, which made us laugh, then brought grissini and some goats cheese amuse-bouches. We chose from the extensive wine list, which had bottles ranging from around 20-odd quid to over £3000, and the food menu which had lots of vegetarian options. The food was delicious - mine was a chilled tomato soup that was incredibly flavoursome, followed by a fresh-tasting linguine with vegetables. As we finished up the wine at a leisurely pace, some time later, we shared a Lava pudding, which melted into a rich pool of gorgeous chocolatey goodness. Service and food was impeccable - the waiter was friendly and chatty, and the other staff were keen to make sure everything was perfect. All in all, a splendid lunch. Not cheap, but totally worth it for the ambience and the quality. Would definitely go again.

Lovely staff and excellent service .Chargrilled sardines were delicious and my sea bass was perfectly cooked and full of flavour.My boyfriend loved his rack of lamb and he is hard to please.
