Beautiful and very authentic little Italian restaurant, The staff are very professional and friendly. The food was delicious, and price was relatively reasonable. If you like Italian food, this is definitely not going to disappoint.

Loveliest host, loveliest waiters and staff. Unfortunately, the cooks are not very good. We ordered a seafood skewer that came out twice raw. You know, no one eats raw prawn or raw fish unless it's sashimi or sushi or ceviche. So obviously, it had to go back twice. Third attempt, we got something else. Find that a bit unusual. Obviously, maybe there's some sort of cutbacks and the chefs aren't the same, but they need to step it up if they're going to charge this kind of money for that kind of area.

This is one of mine and my partner’s favourite restaurants. It has a very special place in our hearts. We happened upon Villa Bianca spontaneously on our first visit; and loved it so much that we returned for our anniversary meal. It is absolutely exceptional. The service strikes the perfect balance between warm and professional; attentive and composed. The staff know their stuff, and are excellent at their jobs. The atmosphere is special; there is a lovely buzz in the place that feels both one of a refined fine-dining establishment, and also of somewhere that is loved by locals. Most important of all, the food and drink is delicious. I have had a range of dishes there now, as has my partner, and they are all wonderful; executed with the lightness of touch of a top, top restaurant; whilst remaining substantial in size, hearty and satisfying. Food poisoning. We had oysters and lobster. We spent in emergencies from 3:00 in the morning to 17:30 in the evening the day after. Be aware of the seafood and specially the “restaurant director”. So you know the type of person who manages this place: We just reported the situation with good intentions as we were curious on what approach the management would take. We have not asked and we don’t want any kind of compensation but “restaurant director” very passively-aggressively is requesting us via email a letter from NHS confirming that the food poisoning happened in his restaurant if we want a bottle of prosecco as goodwill gesture. As I said, we just want that no one else goes thorough the night we had experience, we don’t want drinks neither food not even refunds, we don’t want any compensations. Better spend your money somewhere else and more reputable where they care about your health. A anniversary date that could have ended up very badly.

The food tasty and fresh. Service is good too. It's very noisy when the restaurant is full. I felt cold sitting in the restaurant. Every time the door opens, cold breeze rushed in, my friend had to wear her jacket during the entire meal. Asked for a table upstairs. I had a feeling they didn't put the heating on today. Based on today experience, I will only visit the restaurant in the summer.

A bit too old fashioned and food was way too expensive for the content imo

We stumbled across this place during a regular walk around in Hampstead, living locally. They accommodated us having not booked a table and were very welcoming. We have learnt how to taste if the food is authentic italian with respective to pasta, having visited italy and eaten in local authentic restaurants regularly. We purchased 2 tomato spaghetti (Spaghetti Napoli) dishes costing a total of £31.39 and it was worth the money. Great value for money. The food tasted really nice. Not exactly how it was in Italy, however not too far away and definitely better than Most in London. Great service, great location, great food. I would come back and recommend visiting.

Fresh pasta , the sauces are a little plain and unexciting but ingredients are good quality, nice atmosphere, expensive , portions are not big eg 10 ravioli pieces in the main course serving . Bread basket is extra charge. Staff are polite.

Loved dinner here. Lovely atmosphere with great waiters. Food was very good. I had a really good Bolognese. The wine was outstanding and I had the Tiramisu for dessert that was delicious. I highly recommend recommend this restaurant

Located in an alley off the high street is a quaint little Italian restaurant named La Villa Bianca. The simple yet classy black and white contemporary interiors mimic the quality of food here. Every single dish had a light fruity flavour showcasing the authenticity of the ingredients themselves. The mushroom risotto was a clear standout, with the delicate flavour of the mushrooms caressing the stock drenched perfectly cooked rice. The same can be said of the excellent lobster pasta with the sweet taste of cherry tomatos contrasted only by the slight briny taste of the lobster, which was unmistakably a sign of its freshness. A lovely spot for a casual lunch, I will be back.

The minestrone soup and pomodoro pasta were wonderful. The bread was a little stale. Loved the view from the outdoor terrace and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely return.

We had a lovely early dinner on Saturday for a friend’s birthday. The food was incredible, and the service was impeccable. The staff had a great sense of humour, and it felt like you were on holiday. I highly recommend the specials :)

We were fortunate to get an outside table on a very busy Tuesday evening. We were exceptionally well looked after by friendly, competent staff from beginning to end. Alessandro made some fab menu suggestions which ensured we had a memorable evening. What a delight, our expectations were exceeded, and that doesn’t happen often!! Thank you 🙏

We have been meaning to go to this restaurant for a long time. Certainly worth the wait! A traditional Italian at its best. Friendly waiting staff. We liked that they told us what the market value price of the fish was in advance. One minor was we ordered the fish on the bone but it came off the bone, it was however very good. All food very good. Definitely will return and won’t wait so long next time!

Outstanding. I ambled there today for a lovely lunch and sat outside on the terrace, so pleased I did. This gorgeous Italian restaurant is timeless. I had a wonderful lunch. The papperdelle with mushrooms was delicious and I had a side order of petipois peas and shallots. My glass of red was just right. A cappuccino coffee and tiramisu was a delight. The manager is excellent Lori's I believe his name was and I suggest if you have not had the opportunity of dining here then get on your walking shoes and go. I only wished I lived nearby I would go every week. Tablecloths, service, food, this delight has the lot. The best restaurant by far in the area. Thank you so much Lori's for making me feel so welcome. I will be back.

Elegant wealth, superfood superservice and frankly a cut above most of London’s restaurants!!!

Have been going to Villa Bianca for years but hadn't been for a while and although the food was great the service was a complete shambles. Although I can appreciate a Saturday night service is a busy one there was no excuse for some of the errors. Drinks took an age to arrive having been given some very generic advice regarding wine choices. One of the guests was after somethng quite specific tasting and between two members of staff they had no idea about the intricacies of the wines on their list. We then had to chase for the wine multiple times before it arrived. The chaos really began when the main courses were served. Two of our party of five (me and one other) were brought their mains and no one else was served theirs. Five minutes passed and a waitress came over to apologise to say they were not actually our main dishes and she picked them up and was about to take them to another table until we protested that she didn't even ask if we had eaten from them. She then went to put them back on our table before taking them away again. Two minutes later we watched these two dishes be served to another table. They then brought up the mains and served everyone other than me. A waiter came by two minutes later and made a joke about whether I was on a diet. I could then see the staff having a discussion and someone rushed to the till before running down to the kitchen where evidently my main had either not been put through or was forgotten. My main eventually arrived by which point some of our table had already finished theirs. We tried to explain what had happened to a member of staff who wasn't remotely apologetic and so eventually we spoke with the manager simply tsaid that a Saturday night is a busy time for the kitchen. He offered to waive the service charge on the bill which we weren't comfortable with (without knowing how their staff receive tips there) and instead dessert was offered for free. The food was, as it always has been, very tasty but the service was shocking and it made Fawlty Towers look coherant!

Excellent quality of food. What I would describe as a traditional restaurant. Service spot on the money too. The piano music in the background provides for a lovely atmosphere.

Crazy good food, very friendly staff, nice selection of wines

Massively overpriced for the value offered. £260 for a family lunch (3 starters, 1 soup, 2 mains, £60 wine bottle). That’s a Michelin grade price tag, sadly minus the Michelins grade quality.

We went to the restaurant on 27th April with friends. My wife and I have probably eaten here three or four times and have enjoyed it each time. We had booked the restaurant in person and were very clear that we wanted a table downstairs. The person who took the booking showed us which table we would have. When we arrived our friends had already been seated upstairs in a dark miserable corner. There were no other tables available. In fairness the food and the service were good but it was hard to have a conversation over dinner because we were competing with the incredibly loud piano that was played without a break. Our evening was ruined. I rang the restaurant on 28th April and spoke to the manager. He acknowledged that something had gone wrong with our booking and would look into it and call me back. He didn’t call so I rang him back yesterday. His attitude had changed completely. He explained that he had not investigated and was not going to and if I wanted to complain I should write. I asked to who and his reply was that I should look it up online. This is my written complaint. I will never eat at this restaurant again. There are too many places to go to that will show more interest in achieving a positive customer experience.

many years ago, I lived in Hampstead for six years and always loved the restaurant. every time I come back from a visit I make sure I have dinner there. Food is wonderful. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is fabulous. Love this place.

We had a slightly small table for our group of 6, but adequate and with a proper table cloth and napkins. Half had vegetarian meals. All were happy with their choices of starter and main course. We didn't have room for desert. Fresh, high quality ingredients, well prepared. Good service. Villa Bianca is a reliable restaurant and has been for many years.

We were here to celebrate our grandson's birthday had a wonderful meal from an extensive menu with so many dishes that it makes it difficult to choose. We will have to keep coming back to try them all. Nice ambience & pleasant friendly staff who sang happy birthday to our grandson. Of special note was the crab linguini & the rack of lamb. I am the only person in our party who drinks & it was nice to find a varied selection of wines by the glass on offer. We happened to walk past looking for a lunch venue. The set lunch menu looked nice and was reasonably priced. And it lived up to expectations with pleasant serving staff and a good quality lunch offering. We would be very happy to return. Enjoyed the grappa afterwards too.

We were early and were seated without any fuss! Lovely food great service! Wonderful restaurant. Have eaten here before and it has maintained a consistent level excellence few restaurants can achieve! Went here again Feb 2024 wonderful attention to detail food and service amazing. We had a wonderful meal at Villa Bianca for a family celebration - the food was superb, all the staff were friendly and helpful - it was great fun - we will be back

The food was exceptional. We were a fairly big party and everyone enjoyed thier food. The service was impeccable and have no complaints. I will say that the pianist upstairs plays well and adds atmosphere but he seemed so grumpy. My younger one wanted to sit quitely and watch him play and I think his demeanor scared her a little bit. I am probably being a bit unfair as he played very well.

I've been going to this restaurant for almost 20 years! Last night we went to celebrate my sons 14th birthday and as always the food and the service were first class. It amazes me how consistent this restaurant has been over the years. We loved the fact that they surprised my son with dessert and a very loud rendition of Happy Birthday. Quite simply an excellent Italian restaurant. Special thanks to Allessandro and his father, who always look after us every time we go.

This is a superb Italian. Full of flavour and quality . From the moment you step in to the moment you exit . The hallmark of any good restaurant is the service and food , and Villa Bianca has this in abundance. We have been to many Italian restaurants in central London but Villa Bianca remains the best for consistency. Highly recommend it.

The service and ambience at Villa Bianca is always excellent. Tonight’s specials were delicious, fresh and inspired. My starter of porcini mushroom bruschetta with truffle sauce was gorgeous, main course halibut so fresh & cooked perfectly. Dessert of apple strudel was divine. Wines too were great. We will return

Really romantic setting, but the food and wine was just okay for those really into fine Italian cuisine

A lovely authentic Italian restaurant, been in existence since at least the 70's when I first had the pleasure of dining at this classic top-rated eatery. 5-star cuisine and service, standard.

When you live in a place for a while it is easy and perhaps inevitable that you fall into bad habits: waiting to order the same drink in the same understaffed pub as a crush of tourists sip halves of London Pride by the bar; queueing for ages on a Saturday morning to buy the same loaf of bread from the same posh bakery as people waiting for their coffee to be made; not talking to the charity guy on the high street because he insists on calling you "young man/woman". Following a delicious lunch at the weekend, I now realise that not going to Villa Bianca was a deeply regrettable habit that gradually encrusted itself on our lives in NW3. In the two decades we have called Hampstead home, I think we have been there once, back in the mists of time when the high street boasted more places to buy clothes than have your nails done. So long ago that I had forgotten just how good this place is and how comfily reassuring "old school" is. And Villa Bianca is the definition of "old school": no £20 credit card charge to guarantee your table, just a phone call on the morning of your booking to make sure you are actually going to turn up, delicious Italian food served up with a sparkling efficiency that left our party slightly slack jawed (starters that all arrived at the same time! not waiting 25 minutes for mains!!! friendly without being overly intrusive!!!!!). Okay, if you order meat or fish you pay West End prices. But they cook lemon sole like their lives depend on it, the pasta dishes are perfection on a plate and even the filter coffee is good. If you live in Hampstead or the surrounds and haven't been to VB in a while, go. If you haven't been to VB, go. It's a wee gem. (And by the way, the maître d' belts out a damn good version of "Happy Birthday")

Situado en una pequeña travesía y coqueta calle de Hampstead. El acceso al local, muy común en todo Londres, pasas directamente de la calle al comedor. Local que consta de planta baja y un primer piso. Es bastante acogedor, si bien en el comedor de la zona baja las mesas están demasiado próximas entre sí. En el piso superior tienen habilitada una chimenea con fuego alimentado por gas, lo que hace que desprenda un olor molesto, que se hace desagradable durante toda la cena. Los platos están bien presentados, y las personas que atienden son atentas y amables. Las escaleras para acceder al piso superior son incómodas como en el 90 por ciento de los locales antiguos.

Lovely lunch celebration. We were greeted by the host and shown to a nice private table at the rear, service was attentive throughout. We all enjoyed the meal very much, haven’t had such fine Italian food in a long time. The salmon w as particularly good, the past dishes were delicious. We finished with deserts and coffee. It was a very enjoyable meal with superb service.

Open since the early nineteen seventies, Villa Bianca is both an institution of Hampstead and an old school neighbourhood Italian restaurant. While the food is tasty and authentic, the interior (split across two levels and four outdoor tables), service and atmosphere are outdated. While there are six staff looking after the tables, only two of them take orders which makes ordering a challenge at peak times. The prices are on the premium end even for Hampstead and other Italian restaurants in the area. The decor is a mismatch of modern and antique. With that said the food hits the spot. The lobster soup (£12) was perfectly cooked. The whole sea bass (£30) was fresh with a slight lemon sauce. The veal milanese (£29.95) was crispy and tender with a generous portion.

Delicious food and delightful atmosphere. Most memorable was Alessandro, the waiter--kind, patient, fun and incredibly helpful.

It was a beautiful sunny October day as we sat upstairs on the terrace eating delicious Italian food and listening to their wonderful pianist. So great full to have these moments when the world is in chaos 🙏

Perfect meal. Efficient, knowledgable and genuine service. Wonderful live pianist. Had the Salmon, my friend the veal. Zucchini on the side. Tiramisu followed. All food flawless. Shall most certainly be back.

On entering the restaurant you get a lovely friendly welcome and greeting from the head waiter. We were shown to our table which was very nicely laid out with crisp white table cloth which gives the place a traditional feel. There is a large selection on the menu of fish, meat, pasta etc to suit all tastes. The quality of the food was excellent and very nicely prepared and presented. You don’t go away hungry as the portion sizes are good. We didn’t have to wait long for our food between courses. The venue has a lovely atmosphere and being tucked away in a quiet side road in Hampstead Village means it’s a quiet and peaceful setting. We really enjoyed our meal here and look forward to returning soon. Thanks to the attentive staff for making our visit so special and enjoyable.

Lovely Italian restaurant at the heart of Hampstead. Always friendly and great service. Hearty delicious food. Cosy ambiance, great for family occasions and for romantic evenings. We've been coming here for over 30 years, first as a young couple and now with the whole family and it has never disappointed us!!

I last ate here 18 years ago and, despite living locally, have never returned as I found the patrons to be on the slightly older side. Having heard that the food was very good we decided to try it again and although the food lived up to its reputation unfortunately the service let it down. We found our waiter (seemingly one of the managers) to be rather unfriendly and unwelcoming. The restaurant was not particularly busy so the atmosphere was a bit staid but if the manager had been more friendly and less condescending we would have enjoyed our evening more.

This is a beautiful restaurant with good food, but the host was very unfriendly. In fact, he was rude. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation. The door was open and the host was standing at the host station, so we entered and my wife greeted him. He angrily replied “we are not open yet and we are very busy, so we can seat you but we cannot provide you any service.” He did not say another word to us the entire time we were there. We noticed that the other staff members seemed very much on edge. No smiles, no greetings, they all seemed unhappy. No one thanked us for our business. Pathetic. We won’t be back.

Very much an old school dining experience. Classic upscale Italian fare with a fairly stuffy white tablecloth vibe. I personally like it and the food has always been good.

Have been going to Villa Bianca for many years but never again. My friend and I both ordered Dover sole ( market price ) so my fault for not asking! However we were charged £65 per fish, ridiculous!! We questioned a bill for £263 for 2 people but the staff just said prices had gone up. They really didn’t care. One to avoid.

I really don't understand the positive reviews...from entering the door we knew it was a mistake. It was like being in a bad 70s sitcom with dated bland food to match. Two elderly gents oversee the tables and service was prompt but verging on rushing you through the evening tbh. No moment to yourselves. The atmosphere was dire and the food the same: too quick to appear, tasteless and a bad 70s time warp. The veal was steamrollered flat and dry...monkfish was spongy. Tiramisu was shop bought and if you closed your eyes you would have no clue what you were eating. Lazy and tired on all counts and overpriced...even for Hampstead.

Average food, unpleasant atmosphere created by the two older male hosts and expensive. We’ve been there a number of times and this time was particularly unpleasant.

I had a wonderful meal with great service late on a Tuesday evening. I thought it might be rely on it's location for its popularity but that was not the case - definitely one of the best Italian (we had pasta) restaurants I've been to in London. Excellent (if pricey!) wine.

A pleasant evening with good food, well presented, and excellent, friendly service. The sea bass was filleted by the waiter and was perfectly cooked. The calves liver was served as requested and was delicious. All six of us enjoyed our meal. The wine list is extensive but on the pricey side, even for Hampstead. The pianist was competent but it was too loud and a slight relief when he stopped for the evening. Surprisingly, the restaurant was far from full.

We stumbled upon Villa Bianca during our visit to Hampstead. The restaurant is classy and has a wonderful menu. This was our last night in London and it did not disappoint. My husband started with the Carrot and Orange soup which he said was amazing. I started with the aubergine starter which would have been adequate for me as a main on any other day! I had the salmon special as my main while my husband had the porterhouse steak. Both of our meals were delicious. We opted for a nice bottle of South African wine and dessert was a warm apple tart. Need I say more. The service was wonderful and t was apparent that the managers (men in nice suits) take pride in what they do. By the time we left the restaurant was full and quite busy. We were happy we were able to get a table. We would return next time we are in London.

New look menus , some food cooked at the table , a few changes but the basics remain the same , without doubt the best looking restaurant in Hampstead , which is how we were persuaded to first try it some years ago . The staff are customer friendly , the head waiter is charming , and last night I had the best rack of lamb I have ever had in a restaurant - and I have had many many racks of restaurant lamb , it had not been sliced but so tender it cut beautifully and tasted delicious , with mash potato and zuchinni on the side - perfect . Started with minestrone again one of my favourites and ended with tiramisu . My wife’s fillet steak with peppercorns was also perfect , again tender , and juicy . Okay so this was all as it should be but so commonly is not , anywhere in the world . So a lovely meal and thank you v, b .

From the moment we turned the corner of the cobbled lane it reminded me of holidays in Italy! Buzzing atmosphere, busy waiters, clinking glasses and bottles popping, piano in the background, beautiful exterior. Food was sublime, we are picky eaters and vegetarian. Delicious spinach and ricotta rolls to start. Bruschetta was perfect, ravioli perfect. My husband said the chocolate volcano was best he ever tasted and I quite agree. Waiters attitude was exactly right, welcoming, interested but not intrusive. For London the bill was very reasonable. Picking hairs, the only improvements would be to offer non-alchoholic Wine and beer and the bathroom needs a refurb especially resealing around the taps. Usually we trek into town to The Bleeding Heart or Andrew Edmunds. Now we’ve found Villa Bianca closer to home we will definitely be changing our anniversary dinner destination! Thank you Villa Bianca for a wonderful experience!

Magical experience, sitting on the balcony eating a wonderful meal with the pianist playing on a summers night was just stunning. Truly enjoyed, thank you villa bianca

we have been before and once again we had good service and the food is a good standard. wine prices and food have been increased slightly well what hasn't they have an upstairs with a man on piano but the room is smaller. the tables and setting inside are well placed apart so you dont feel like you are joining another group. For the location it is a good place to have a meal. For the records staff were not wearing face masks.

Delicious vegan options available. Sat outside under new heaters on a cold evening - great location to sit outside. Feel the restaurant is missing an opportunity by not advertising the vegan options on its menu / printing a separate menu with vegan option.

I used to go regularly when I lived in Hampstead and then by chance I called them on a Saturday night and they were able to give me a table for two. It was not the best table but I was last to join the party and I was here for good-no very good authentic Italian food and I was on the whole delighted. Unfortunately the spinach was cold but the veal with mushrooms was just how I remembered it and I really enjoyed it. The zucchini was also excellent. All in a great meal. Did not have starters as my companion said she did not want one. Had the sorbet as a desert which was good. I will not leave it so long and to make sure I have a seat at the table will book early. The waiting staff were also very attentive.

Have to say although I have lived in Hampstead for 30 years it must be 20 years since I ate at Villa Bianca. It was chosen as the restaurant to celebrate the birthday of one of the UK's most eminent QCs. My expectations were not high especially having looked at some of the TripAdvisor reviews. Have to say from the booking to the leaving after our meal, I found everyone at the restaurant genuinely friendly and very helpful and this despite the restaurant being full. The service was perfect; always available without being intrusive. The food was delicious. I have visited Tuscany for over 30 years twice a year and have to say the dishes all 4 of us present were served tasted wonderful and equally as good Tuscany. The wine was also delicious (Brunello di Montalcino). Would not hesitate to recommend the restaurant to anyone. Can't talk about value as the bill was surreptitiously paid by of of the other guests but have heard he was very pleasantly surprised .

I just don’t get itHow can a restaurant’s reviews range from absolutely dreadful 1-star to sublime 5-star ratings?We live in Essex and so for us, Villa Bianca is not round the corner. Each time we’ve come, the experience has been nothing short of excellent and am at a loss to understand where these bad reviews come from.Four of us booked for 8:15 on Saturday night. We got there on time and the place was absolutely rammed – not a spare table to be seen – except for ours. Good luck or good management? Who cares? We sat down on time and were given menus straight away.All the staff we interacted with – front of house, waiting, maître d’ and the young chap who took our empty plates away were polite, efficient and friendly. If we wanted to chat, they chatted but were not all over us like a rash.We all enjoyed our food. Fresh Mediterranean Calamari rings were delicious, and the minestrone soup was pronounced “one of the best”. I was delighted that Beef Stroganoff was one of the specials – it had a lovely spicy/tangy flavour and there was a lot of it. So much so that the tempting desserts remained just that – tempting but no sale. My wife had Halibut in a creamy wild mushroom & leek sauce which was “nice and meaty – just the way I like it”. The Vitello a La Villa Bianca was such a large portion it wouldn’t fit on a plate and was brought out on a slate and while you might say it’s hard to mess up Beef Fillet in a peppercorn sauce, it was pronounced equally delicious. With a couple of beers, some wine but no desserts, the bill including service came to £228 for 4 – not cheap by any means but certainly not expensive if value for money takes in the quality of the food, the way it was served and the ambience of the place it was served in.Well worth our journey from and back to Essex and we will be returning to Villa Bianca sooner rather than later
