Persian Lounge in Tunbridge Wells

Where to start, the traditional taftoon bread was the shop bought pita bread, all of the starters tasted like manufactured and put on the plate with ridiculous prices. Rice portions super small. Overall I would rather have a sandwich than eating at Persian Lounge.

Really nice vibe, good lighting and atmosphere- perfect for a restaurant like this. Yummy food, lots of selection and good service. Not the cheapest and not the biggest of portions but a lovely evening nonetheless. Would highly recommend.

Service was good however they add on a service charge at the end which I don't agree with, I feel if you earn the tip then I will tip but it should be my choice. I did ask for the charge to be removed and he did do it without a fuss but it's the principle. I didn't enjoy my food at all ( I didnt moan about it though I couldn't be bothered) I had Lamb shish with chips instead of rice( which is what is is usually served with) unfortunately the Lamb was fatty and chewy and the chips tasted funny.I also asked for no salad and he still served it with salad, he repeated the order so it wasn't a case of not hearing it. I didn't eat any of it spat it out after one bite, I left there so hungry. The cocktails were good price as they had a deal on however they were way too strong and the restaurant had a weird smell. I wouldn't go back as I didn't have a good experience and I would expect better as it wasn't cheap. Very disappointing because it all looks very nice even in my own pictures but it wasn't.

Simply amazing, from the service to the food. The staff are very kind and warm they treat, and make you feel like a Michelin reviewer. The food is exceptionally good. Highly recommend!!

Walked straight in on a Saturday night. Friendly, helpful service. You get plenty of terrific food for your money. Was there as a couple but good for all occasions.

A really lovely restaurant, the food was delicious (starter, main and pudding - especially the baklava) and the cocktails were amazing! The staff were so lovely and the atmosphere was relaxed. We had a really great evening. Would definitely recommend.

It was a bitter experience, the price of food is expensive. They did not know how to drink at all. The food was not of good quality. The charge was more than standard, and the appetizer was of no quality

Top quality (Persian) food - succulent Lamb done (real) kebab style, top salads and interesting beers (I had a Turkish beer). The service was very good also and the price very reasonable- highly recommended..................................................................................

First time visiting here with my family and 5 months old baby . Our baby was happy and screamed from joy maybe once or twice. he was enjoying the environment. The waiter told us we have to keep the baby quiet as the other customers complain.. Bare in mind there were ONLY 2 other families which i definitely know they didn't complain .. I was told by the waiter. AGAIN AND AGAIN that we should of mentioned we are visiting with baby before we reserved a table.. When i told him We have been to many other Persian restaurants like Behesht restaurants, ARIANA RESTAURANTS and couple of others they never complain anyone visiting with babies/ kids. I was told arrogantly Persian lounge is way better than them. Worst experience i had here. Surely it our 1st and last visit here at PERSIAN LOUNGE.. P.S GUYS IF YOU'RE VISITING HERE WITH BABY'S/ KIDS... THINK TWICE !!!!

The best restaurant in Tunbridge Wells. Everything about it is great. The food is very nice, particularly the starters, and the cocktails are amazing - I particularly like the mojitos. The service is also outstanding, the owners are very friendly and accommodating.

We enjoyed another wonderful meal at the Persian Lounge this evening.. Can't fault the fantastic food.. We'll be returning very soon 👍🏼 If you haven't tried this restaurant yet l'd definitely encourage to to book a table.. you won't be disappointed.

Omg absolutely the biggest rip off in tunbridge wells, pay £17 for a plate of nothing. Received three pieces of chicken on a plate with a wilted salad garnish. It was called a kebab but no bread was offered. It was the worst meal we have ever had. Not looking for a fight with the staff we just paid the bill having left the food which was not really enjoyable and crossed the road to Wagamama’s. Now there’s a great restaurant. I love the way that when a restaurant gets a truthful review, the reviewer gets slated by the restaurant and in this case accused of never eating there. Well bad news Persian lounge I still have the receipt and we were definitely there. The food that was served was just not very good, please take the feedback and work with it and develop your menu offering and quality of products. People need value for money these days not ripping off. Create a good value menu with quality products and people will come and dine with you.

Authentic & Delicious Persian Food For English people who know nothing of Persian cuisine, this would be an excellent place to experience truly delicious authentic Persian food. We had a platter of kebabs to share with barberry rice (which was light and fluffy) and it was fantastic. Persian food is delicious when cooked well and it certainly is here. If you’ve never tried Persian food, you should and no better place to start than the PersianLounge. Loved it.

Were returning clients to this restaurant but on this occasion we were very disappointed with the quality of food service and price. I would not recommend going to this restaurant, food is very basic you can find better food in Pizza Express for half the price. Drinks in particular are very expensive. Humous was very small and seemed as though was prepared yesterday. Deserts felt as though they were prepared a week ago and restaurant manager became very defensive and would not take any criticism on board and said his pricing is no different to anywhere else. We paid service charge but will not return again!

We had a fantastic meal at the Persian Lounge for my sister's birthday this evening! The staff were so friendly and one gentleman was really good with my nephew, making jokes and making him laugh! The food was served quickly and was cooked really well. My sister said it was the best meal she had had in a long time and she wasn't far wrong! Lovely atmosphere and setting. We would definitely visit again. The cocktails were really good, too! One shared toilet, but very clean facilities.

Top good but the old shot glasses and a bit wonky there out there to mug you off just went to pick mine up turns out I'm just drunk haaa food good staff good

A very lovely restaurant with friendly staff. Had lunch here with friends. I had Kobideh minced meat kebab with small salad and good portion of rice. Unfortunately they only had spicy Kobideh but I still managed it as it was not excessively spicy. I believe it is to satisfy the British palate which is extremely reasonable.Sweet was Turkish Bakhlava with ice cream ! All told an excellent lunch 🥗

This is one of the best Persian restaurants in the UK. The food is absolutely amazing. The quality of their kababs is very high and very tasty. Their fesenjan is to die for! The staff is also very kind and very helpful. The place is also very pretty and super clean. Definitely a place to try !!

This restaurant is superb, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The food is beautifully cooked and presented and the flavours are delicate and delicious. I've never had a Persian meal before but this far exceeded my expectations.

First time I've gone out in a while and so happy to have gone here, the staff were all so welcoming, we instantly felt comfortable; impeccable food and drinks to boot. I can't recommend their espresso martinis enough. Can't wait to go back there and it will be soon.

We just had the lunch menu at this restaurant, which was new to us. I had koobideh kebab (Minced lamb) with delicious Persian rice, my partner the jujeh kebab (chicken) and salad. It was freshly cooked and absolutely lovely. I have enjoyed many Persian meals and this was up there with the best. We will certainly return.

Wouldn't let me do basics such as using the toilet when I was desperate and was contemplating eatin after. Got told I had to spend money first. I wanted to spend a different kind of penny in mind so I decided to leave and go to Zorba, a much better turkish resturant where you can actualy catch a good vibe, not lung cancer from the shiksa pens or bad customer service

Really good experience. Great staff, really attentive and just seem happy to help. Food: really good sized portions and really good flavour. Cocktails: well the photos below say it all, not only really good they are happy for you to make requests on how the drink is made (I really dislike an overly sweet Old Fashioned) even checked if it was to my liking! Only point I'd make is I kinda wish negroni was on the menu. Price: I mean pretty much as you'd expect for twells, cocktails a little on the more expensive side but food all priced really well for the amount you get.

They very kindly allowed us to dine after 6pm with our toddler, despite usually disallowing kids after 6pm. Service was prompt, food was fresh and delicious 👍💜

Definitely my favourite restaurant in Tunbridge Wells. The mains are nice, but the starters are exquisite (have the aubergine). They also make amazing cocktails. The prices are also very reasonable.

Just can't keep away! We have been to the Persian Lounge 3 times in the last 6 months and the experience just gets better and better. Don't let the location put you off, once inside the restaurant it's warm, welcoming and cosy. The staff are extremely professional but remained very friendly too. Cocktails, great: Efes beer, fab and a really interesting selection of wines too. But the food is out of this World, so fresh and authentic. Great for those who prefer veggies but absolutely bloody fantastic if you love grilled meats. We'll be back.

We bought 2 Jooheh & must-o-khiar for £34.85. To say that portions were both basic and underwhelming is an understatement. To add, when I pointed this out- the manager just smiled at me. He didn't take my complaint at all seriously. They gave us extra rice but still- it was tasteless. If I could give this place zero stars- I would. Horrendous experience and won't be coming back again.

SUPERB SLOW COOKED FOOD - EXCELLENT SERVICE Highly impressed with the Persian Lounge. A warm welcome, perfect and attentive service. All the food is bursting with flavour - tender meats, succulent sauces, ultra fresh hand chopped salads which really brings out their zest and flavours. This is authentic Persian cuisine at its very best. Good value.

The first Iranian restaurant in T Wells sadly closed years ago, the owner is a long standing friend of mine, so a lovely surprise for me & my date that the owner of this place also knows him. Excellent venue on the hill 1 min from the station or, park outside. Great set up with seating arrangements, so you’re spread out. A small bar is to one side so you can ease into the night with a cocktail or two. Atmosphere was cool, a friendly buzz all around. The staff were very helpful, attentive too with quick service from the open kitchen at the back. Lovely selection of dishes across the menu also, quiet varied, well described. A small wine list, but adequate. I didn’t know a few of the dishes so being my first visit, I had a few questions, which they were happy to help with. Food was simply fabulous. We tried a platter of starters, a middle course, then split a grilled meat main. My no1 hate is over cooked meats, but the chicken & lamb we had were absolutely perfect here and I can’t stress how well the saffron rice was cooked, possibly the best I’ve had. Couldn’t fault a single thing so we will definitely return for more ! Arif

We went here for a work meal. The food was lovely and the service even better. The waiter (who I think may be the owner) was absolutely brilliant. He gave us space to enjoy our evening but was on hand when we wanted some recommendations about what to order. Will certainly be back!

Had such a lovely evening here with my boyfriend and his mum. The staff were super attentive and made sure we had a lovely evening. The food we ordered: Lamb fillet skewers with saffron rice Lamb fillet skewers with skinny fries Lamb fillet skewers with traditional salad Hummus Spinach yoghurt dip The food was all five stars in our opinion, the three different sides where amazing and each meal comes with a grilled tomato and some salad bits. Portions where generous. The spinach and yoghurt dip with bread is one of the nicest dips I’ve had and I highly recommend. Long Island ice tea cocktails where also one of the best I’ve tasted and also very generous servings. Thanks guys!

First time visiting this restaurant and glad I did. Service was exceptional and food was delicious. The restaurant has a lovely lay out and ambiance. Will definitely return.

Spending a night in Tunbridge and made last minute booking. Greeted by welcoming friendly staff. Great atmosphere the place was packed. Near the bar so saw the showman at work making fancy cocktails. Had to have the kebabs but couldn't choose so went for the sharing selection. Delicious! After a desert time to try the cocktails and wasn't disappointed. Highly recommend a visit for food or just a cocktail when in town.!

This was our first experience at the Persian lounge. Overall the food was ok...not something that stood out to me though, I found the saffron rice very weird and it definitely was not saffron so unsure to what exactly they used and unfortunately I did not eat it. The chicken was lovely and tender though. For the staters we had fried halloumi and fried calamari, the halloumi was really salty and very oily and so was the calamari. Unfortunately the service was not 100% and it took them 20 minutes to take our drinks order. We ordered a long Island ice tea cocktail which was really nice and at the end the bill was not extortionate which you would expect from T wells. Overall the night was okay but not sure it would be somewhere I would recommend for a evening out.

Great new restaurant. The food is really tasty and good portions. Service is really good and very friendly.

I was treated to lunch at Persian Lounge as Persian cuisine is one of my favourites. The Kalle kebab (vg) as 1 of the 2 starters we had, which was very tasty, the consistency of a very rich dip which we scooped up with the Persian bread. My friend had the Momtaz grill it was filling, a portion of rice and a Mediterranean salad, I had Jujeh Torsh (chicken with sour marinade) again with the same salad.

I haven’t try Persian food before it was tasty food and good service I will definitely recommend it and I will go back again

Absolutely amazing hospitality, kind helpful , food really high tests as is expected from Persian chefs. Good taste really delicate ,tasted , exceptional, with such lovely well balanced spread of vegetables and meat cooked to perfection. Being near middle of hill close to Columbine cleaners is really positioned well. For those looking to try this restaurant for new delights, would not be disappointed.

My first time having Persian food and I loved every moment. The meat was tender and delicious, lovely fluffy rice and our starters were delectable. Excellent experience with the friendliest staff to welcome us.

Very enjoyable meal. We had the Koobideh and Momtaz kabob/kebab and both were very tasty. The saffron ice cream with pistachio was also very good. Very friendly service.
