Great pub. Great beer and friendly staff. Plenty going on in there. Not sure if food is served during the day, as we were there at night playing darts.

First time I've ever been to this pub, and found it very welcoming, the landlady was lovely and chatty, so was some of the customers that I stood by waiting to be served, I would definitely recommend, it's really relaxed and has a good atmosphere, will definitely be returning for a nice cold beer.

Excellent pub, great service from landlord and quality ales / beers. Atmosphere was good, plenty of locals in.

Lovely friendly welcoming pub. Stopped in for a quick drink on Boxing Day with my wife while we were out on a walk from our hotel The Mercure in Pembury. Many locals in the pub who were very friendly. My wife had an excellent glass of wine and I had a perfect pint of real ale. I highly recommend The King William IV. Ten out of ten.

Great pub if you want a place for a friendly drink. No food but there's other pubs in the village for that.

This is a great pub to go and have a drink, very friendly, but their website has photos of a menu, and they are not even serving food. I arrived for a pub lunch and was not able to have anything to eat. Need to adjust the website and state there is no kitchen.

A real local with real beer. A pub. Not a pub restaurant. Go for chats at the bar and treat yourself to a pickled egg. Proper landlord too. Update, Aug 2022: Still an amazing proper pub. Update, Oct 2022: No change

Great pub Friendly staff great beer

I have recently moved to the Pembury area and was talking a walk today, and coincidentally walked past this pub. A local sitting in the beer garden said hi as I was looking in the window, so I felt brave enough to go in (I was alone). I enjoyed a very warm welcome and a lovely glass of wine. I didn't realise they did food too, but I can highly recommend this place to have a drink and enjoy a book (as I did) and to just feel part of the community. It has such a relaxing and peaceful feel, as well as a friendliness. I will go back again soon--and enquire about the food :)

What a lovely, friendly pub. Booked for myself and mum for a midweek lunch. Food was delicious and fresh. We both had the steak and kidney pudding, soft and full of flavour. Covid safe precautions in place. Couldn't fault it.unch

I hate leaving bad reviews, but it wasn't great. We felt a bit unwelcome, as though us being there was a hassle, although they were busy. The menu was behind the bar and a bit confusing. I'm normally a gannet, but my chips were too salty to eat and the burger was average. Maybe these issues are just the result of COVID, and I think for regulars who just want a drink this is a great little pub, but if you're looking for a meal out there are better places in the area in my opinion. It was quite cheap though and the dog was cute.

What a lovely pub dinner we had at the King William! Thoroughly tasty, top rate food, with plenty of space in the large back garden and totally dog friendly. Very satisfied with the Covid precautions and restrictions in place.

Very popular Sunday lunch venue! Carvery or a la carte, super drinks, beers and wine selection. Get there on time or sit near the bar!

Had a great evening at the King Will for our son’s football xmas do.Fantastic family atmosphere.The place was heaving, but the bar staff didn’t keep us waiting. The drinks were average in price but the hog roast we had was excellent value at £10 per head.This was obviously because we had so many people and had pre arranged the menu.I really like the decor and all the eclectic pieces they have on display . The landlords are very keen to be involved in the local community and we couldn’t have asked for better hosts! Thank you ! Oh and dogs welcome also !

what an amazing afternoon! we arrived in a group of 4, we had already booked and was warmly welcomed by our hosts of the pub. we had probably the best sunday roast we have EVER had and believe me we have been to a few pubs in this area, these guys certainly know how to do a sunday roast. the whole pub sang happy birthday to my wife after lunch which was awesome. im a desert person myself and that didnt dissapoint it was soooo nice. overall well priced, great hosts, great food, i think that speaks for itself. will most certainly recommend this place and will definately be going back for a roast or two!

Visited for the first time yesterday for a hog roast for our local football club Christmas gathering. The pub is a lovely pub with a great selection of beers, wines and soft drinks. There's lots of space to sit down and a huge garden which will be fantastic in the summer. The food was exceptional, melt in the mouth pork and amazing crackling. We will be back to try more delights from the talented chef. The bar staff were friendly, welcoming and most importantly, quick to serve you, which considering there were about 80 of us was no mean feat. Great for families, groups and couples. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Nice little pub. HUGE back garden! Nice flowerrs. Only negative was the large number of smokers in the smoking area at the front made it hard to access.

Great pub - new lease of life in last year- good food, good beer, good place to be

This is a delayed review for a party I organised earlier this year. The Owner and Head Chef couldn't have been more helpful in the run up to our event, allowing us to have confidence that everything would go smoothly. The food was excellent and they reserved the main part of the pub for our party so that we could be separate from the locals. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Ventured here again, about fifth time? When last here had been done up. One of three pubs in Pembury village. Really nice with garden, 5/6 real ales plus great choice lagers. Now open daily from Noon and with a good menu (not Mondays). Had something to eat this time. Excellent and about £2/3 cheaper than other Pembury pubs. Takes a lot for me to give 5 stars BUT have to upgrade to top marking! Hope they keep it this way. Definitely a must if you are around Tun Wells. Luckily I am fairly local!

The atmosphere and friendliness in this pub is amazing! With the new landlords (who are fantastic) we love coming here for delicious food, brilliant entertainment and great music. Totally recommend this to anyone who wants a new local like us, or who are passing though!

Popped into the pub as a 10 minute drive from us. Can tell the new owners have made a big effort and nicely busy for a Sunday night. However, person behind bar didn't make eye contact with us and more focused on locals...which, whilst I understand we could be if felt a bit more welcome.

Went to the King William for the first time in about 25 years. Pleasantly surprised and hats off to the chef if he made the finger food hone made as it was the best i had ever had.

Visiting the area for a few weeks and this was my nearest pub. Great atmosphere, very friendly customers and dog friendly. The staff were also very helpful. Fair selection of beers and one of the better priced pubs in the area. Would highly recommend this place

Walking the High Weald Landscape Trail and stumbled into this delightful pub for a hard earned pint. Excellent selection of beers available and an unexpected delightful garden to sip them in! Kind and welcoming couple running the pub. But star of the show is Loki, the beautiful pub puppy!

If you want to go to a welcoming pub, with a great garden and the nicest landlords, this is for you. I didn’t eat here, but had a couple of drinks and I can’t speak highly enough of the help my sister and I received in our hour of need. Go visit, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

A great way to celebrate mother’s day! 12 of us came here for drinks and Sunday dinner. The pub was beautifully presented - flowers placed on the tables were a nice touch. The food was lovely and portion sizes were great! Would highly recommend this pub to others - has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are very attentive.

Just took my mum here for Mother’s Day lunch and it was superb. Had a roast dinner. The meats cane up on a shared platter board. The vegetables were all hand cut and the parsnips were to die for. Emma our waitress was so lovely. Keep up the good work guys!

Another brilliant night in the King William IV. Popped in to see Big Als Blues and Jazz band, and was not dissapointed, superb music. The landlord and landlady, Colin and Shioban have made a huge effort to turn the pub back to real village meeting place, and they're succeeding. Fantastic choice of beers, great staff, and such a comfortable atmosphere. Refreshingly different in a copy cat world of plastic pubs. Excellent.

Good. It must be new management, they are doing a good job. Quite popular but plenty of space. Friendly atmosphere. I'm going to go again.

Clean modern design with out losing the original character of the building. Great service and wonderful welcome from the landlord and lady. Good selection of drinks, I personally very much enjoyed "Pig n Porter - Red Spider" (local ale)

The pub's been totally regenerated. Excellent ales and beers, refreshingly clean, real landlord and landlady, very friendly. A future award winner. Fist class.

Visited the pub on remberance sunday. The landlord and landlady, Sioban and Collin, had made a fantastic effort to decorate the pub in such a respectful way. A lot of money was being raised for the Poppy apeal through their very generous donations of cheese biscuits and bottles of port. The pub itself is completely regenerated, its clean extremely well stocked, great, great choice of ales and lagers, and such a friendly atmosphere. We've visited a few times now, and have given it a ten out of ten every time. Excellent and highly reccomended.

Doesn't like kids, what a shame. Used to go as a family it being a local village pub. Now no kids allowed after 8pm, no matter how old they are it seems.

Beautifully refurbished and with a truly warm and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting.

This place was recommended to us as being the best pizza in Pembroke. They've recently started doing burgers as well as pizza so the range of food is slightly increased but concentrating on just a couple of specialist things means they do it really well. It was a lovely evening so we sat in the spacious rear garden and enjoyed the ambience. Only downside - no puddings on the menu! ☹️

Super friendly. Good selection of wines and good selection on draught beers/ales. Darts, pool, table football, Clean and tidy. As we were out of town visitors the staff and locals were extremely helpful and pleasant.

Had a really nice evening out here on Saturday night.there was a live band playing great music,a real local friendly atmosphere with lots of people dancing chatting and enjoying themselves .will be back soon

Refurbished, lovely and light, good seating, still a bit blokey.

We arranged to meet friends here before moving on for food. We sampled a few real ales and ended up staying the whole evening. Great atmosphere, good selection of ale's and Pizza, what more could you ask for?

Having had a lovely afternoon walk in the Pembury countryside, we stumbled upon this public house.A lovely warm cosy fire awaited us and the decor was very pleasant, a fine selection of local real ales was on display and we ordered a couple of pint of Old Dairy, to top it off we chose a Spaniard pizza from the menu, made from local ingredients shipped in from Italy. Having visited Italy only last year, it brought back some lovely memories.Lovely staff, great ambiance we will definitely be back for more.

Great choice of beers ! Defiantly the best in the area. I also enjoyed a freshly stone baked pizza which was out of this world. Highly recommend!
