Pergola Paddington in City of London, Westminster

The website did not allow us to make a reservation and said walk in are allowed. We turned up at the door, only 2 of us, and they denied us entry, said we needed a reservation even though we couldn’t make one. We asked to wait if people left if we could go in and they still didn’t allow us to. Poor

Wasn’t expecting too much based on the reviews but Christmas work drinks are a must attend event. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Vibrant atmosphere in the place and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly. The only negative was that some of the food choices were unavailable - no big deal in the grand scheme of things. Prices were ok given the location.

This place is all about the aesthetics and the photos look good on social media. That’s where it stops. Please note there’a a security check on bags etc when we get there. Everything is so overpriced, one round for two people came to £30. And the cocktails weren’t even great and seemed watered down. Food portions were small and overpriced too. The service is so slow at the bar, there was one tiny bar open for that massive place on Saturday. Staff are quite rude. Our two hour booking was taken up with queuing at the bar for most of it, the QR codes on the tables weren’t working either. The atmosphere is ok but the music is really loud, we couldn’t have a conversation. It is quite stuffy, the fans don’t seem to work properly and it feels like you’re baking in a greenhouse. Won’t be coming back.

I came here for a friends birthday as I’ve seen it advertised and it looked good! All of us girls sat down for drinks and ordered food, we were then told that one of my friends had to sit outside on her own as she was too drunk. She had one glass to drink and was not acting intoxicated at all! , the security wouldn’t allow us to see our friend and she was sat on her own for over an hour!! She even had to eat the food outside on her own. Staff were extremely rude especially Farjana, not one member of staff had a smile on there face they were miserable. The food was disgusting when mine finally came it was cold! I would stay clear of this place it’s extremely overpriced and terrible customer service!

Went here for my birthday with a group of friends and was SO disappointed. A bottomless brunch that didn't include food and only had one cocktail choice? what??? Most of the staff were -mostly- friendly enough apart from the odd attitude problem, and some even agreed that it's a load of s**t to not include food. It gets better... we were told to move off our table at 2pm because they had a booking on that table at 3pm... a whole hour to wipe down a bench? Why not spend that time cleaning the grubby toilets instead?Oh, and even though there were 8 of us, we couldn't order more than 2 (very small) jugs of Aperol at a time and it only filed 2 glasses at a push. It states on the website that you have to have food to have the bottomless brunch, the same as all other places, except here, you had to go up and queue for food and pay extra for it, honestly, you can't make this up. Do you not know the meaning of the word brunch? Obviously we didn't have food as well because like hell am I going to pay £35 to then pay extra to eat. So even though it stated online you have to eat to have the bottomless, you don't. I 100% DO NOT recommend. Don't even waste your time, I'd have rather gone to spoons.

Walked up to the entrance. Asked by security if we had a reservation. Told without a reservation we couldn't enter. It felt as if our faces didn't fit! No further discussion allowed. After looking at all the reviews, we missed a bullet here. If they had asked we had a dinner reservation elsewhere and we're just there for pre dinner drinks. Visited yesterday - disappointing. Burgers were red inside had to send back. £12 for a cocktail which was in a Champaign saucer. Rip off. Staff behind bar inexperienced and rude. Will not visit again. Ambiance of the place is nice but that is it. Witnessed other leaving. Music so loud you could not have a conversation. This was early evening 6 pm.

Attended a bottomless brunch and was AWFUL! PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Waited over an hour into our 90 minute bottomless brunch for our first drink. Spoke to numerous staff member and different 'managers' who said they would get our drinks to us or would just ignore us if we tried speaking to them, to which when we did get our order everything was dumped on our table and was completely warm, flat and watered down. We also had one pregnant person with us who even struggled to just get tap water! None of the waiters had a clue what was going on but had the time to stand and chat to each other and get photos rather than sort out peoples drinks and orders. By the time we got our drinks they tried kicking us off our table and wanted us gone as our slot had ended! I would like my money back for the whole group I was with as the whole experience was awful and wasn't worth the money, and was told I would be contacted but still nothing.

We came here for bottomless brunch which should have been for an hour and a half. We weren't served drinks for over an hour. We complained to various people including the manager. When we were served drinks, bottles of sparkling wine were dumped on our table. We were still waiting for a cocktail and beers. When I complained to the staff and manager again, the didn't even know what our order was. When we eventually got the beers, they were completely warm. We got one other round of drinks and that was it. We even saw the servers spending time having their photos taken in the middle of the room instead of serving people. Everyone around us was complaining about the same thing. They then kicked us off of the table because they had another booking even though we had missed out on over an hour of bottomless drinks because of their awful service.

Required a credit card when booking a table. Although no money was going to be taken, a "charge of £50 per table will be made if you or any members of your party don’t show for the reservation." Decided to proceed with the booking anyway but after I'd confirmed I was informed that "£10 per person will be charged for any bookings that fail to show up or provide us with enough notice to update the booking." After reading the awful reviews on here we decided to cancel completely!

This was not a bottomless brunch as advertised online. Online it says food is included. We got told at the venue we had to pay for food separately on top of the £35pp for drinks. We were served sparkling white wine not prosecco. Mouldy beer jugs and dirty plastic glasses. A small bench for a party of 12 of us. Staff were rude and didn’t seem to know anything about the drinks or “bottomless brunch”. We got told we were allowed 5 drinks each which was not stated online. Very dead atmosphere and vibe. Will not return.

We had a lovely day in London and came here for a friends birthday! The staff were amazing manager Christina, Sercuity John and the guy behind the bar T. Everyone was super friendly and we had the best hight cos of these people making us so welcome! :-)

A security guard told me to leave for no reason and when I asked him to give me a reason he did not have one. He than got other security guards to help him. They than followed me outside and jumped me. I was punched in the face several times and than rushed to the ground. This is not acceptable and to know security guards think they have that authority. This place should be monitored by management because this happened right outside the Paddington venue and no one stopped it. Also, I expect professional behavior from security guards not talking like thugs and than beaten up customers. I will not be visiting this place again and no one else should.

This was quite possibly the worst venue I’ve ever visited in London. It’s a soulless place about 10 mins walk from Paddington. The heat was unbearable, fans/aircon seemed to do nothing. Tacos were overpriced, dry and tasteless. Bar staff were clueless, service slow and when I asked about my dirty glass, I was told that’s just because of the dishwasher! They didn’t change it or seem bothered.
