Great meal and wonderful ambience to celebrate Christmas!

Not sure the food took really long to come out in my opinion didn't keep the time but restaurant wasn't that busy The lady host to attentive or enthusiastic Overall not a bad experience but would expect more when you book a restaurant in Central London

We had such a lovely evening at the Arber Garden. The venue was decorated beautifully for Christmas with a lovely lit up (heated) garden. The staff were friendly and the right level of attentiveness. It had a luxury laid back feel. You could dress up or down and still feel the part. The food was really delicious - I had the smoked salmon starter and trout, my friends had the Christmas Turkey. Everyone was very happy. Not enough room for pudding sadly. The wine was really decent for the price and I had an excellent cosmopolitan. We stayed until nearly past closing. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Feels like a hidden gem in the heart of the London.

The ambience is absolutely lovely. Food was good. And service was nice.

I was so disappointed. The starter was good - ricotta cheese on sourdough- but mains were terrible. Cold gnocchi which 3 out of 4 of the party returned. There was a vague attempt to convince us that this was how the dish should be. It was also a tiny portion of food. While 3 of 4 waited for their new dishes, the fourth person finished theirs. I thought maybe a complementary drink might be in order but no…at the end they still charged service. The music was so loud as well. When I booked they asked if it was a special occasion - it was a birthday- no mention. In a way I’m glad I went as o have now cancelled the table for my own birthday in a couple of weeks. Not impressed I’m afraid.

Inattentive service. Very small portions, especially the gnocchi, delivered low value-for-money and left us hungry after lunch. Lighting levels were odd, making the menu difficult to read. Interior finishes are beautiful but overall let down by disappointing service and food.

We had a really nice evening, staff was super attentive (I would like to commend our waitress for the evening, an Italian girl who made us feel like at home), the food was delicious, fresh and cooked faultlessly. If you are looking for a place with character but without it being too stuffy this place will be perfect for you. We also loved the fact that there were little activities for the children, we'll be back soon for more.

My daughter had her wedding reception here after getting married in the beautiful Fitzrovia chapel next door. From the moment we all arrived, (around 70 guests) at the restaurant the staff and the atmosphere were fantastic!! We had all pre ordered our 3 course meal, I think we had 3 or 4 choices. The food came out with great organisation and so delicious and hot. We ate, drank and partied the night away in our sectioned off area. The staff looked after all our needs, I can’t thank them enough. I highly recommend this wonderful place.

Food took ages to arrive (45 mins for a cold starter that required no cooking) and it wasn’t worth the wait. It was similar to a large chain restaurant style menu such as Wetherspoons but at much less affordable prices. With that in mind, I would not recommend this restaurant.

booking process was quick and easy and communications with the restaurant team were excellent, given our pre-lunch meeting overran so we had to call to delay our table by nearly 30 mins. The team could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Sat outside, which is a little noisy but ideal for the lunch we wanted to have and both service and the quality of food was very good (we only had time for one course but that was managed in a timely way by the team). Many thanks, have used the restaurant before and will definitely be back again.

The food is exceptionally good (especially the fish & chips dish is to die for!). The service is a bit on the slow side. The place wasn't busy as we came early for dinner. They had 5 people in service but they didn't seem to be well organised. We had to wait quite a while for our drinks and had to remind twice. The starter then came before the drinks which was a bit odd. I had the same experience on my first visit a few months ago....but the great food made up for the poor service. In spite of that we will be back again and hope they will improve their service in the meantime.

A disappointing visit. Food service was very slow. On booking I did ask twice if we should select from the set menu as our party was for 15 people. I was assured this wasn't necessary. (We visited in July, same size party, asked to pre-order back then) Food took just over an hour to arrive, for the majority of this time we were in a separate room with minimal staff appearing, difficult to order more drinks or ask for an update on the food. Very disappointing visit. Unlikely to book our team dinner at this location again.

Lovely room, decent food but service was very slow for a lunchtime. It was near empty and it took 20 minutes to get the bill.

Had outside table, lovely and quiet, we could actually have a conversation, which is refreshing as many restaurants have music blasting. Staff very pleasant and helpful and engaging

Really bad service. 20 mins each time for a drink, often have to ask multiple times for the drinks to arrive. When you go to the bar they charge a service charge. Bit of a joke

The food was delicious, the staff so nice and welcoming and the atmosphere was great. It is a beautiful restaurant but very relaxed. We had a wonderful time.

Lovely place . Old fashioned a bit too weak / diluted. Food is very good , some dishes need a tad more salt. Overall good experience and very very good service .

I booked a table for 14 for a lunchtime family celebration. I couldn't have chosen a better venue. I'd originally wanted a table in the Garden Room, but we were seated in the main restaurant/bar area, which the team figured would be better for us, and they were so right! Space for drinks and catching up before we sat down to order - an hour later than the booked time with no nudging to get on with it. All the staff were just fantastic. Chilled and attentive at the same time. All dishes arrived together and in front of the right person every time, which for 14 with no pre-orders was pretty impressive! A beautifully fitted out, smart but relaxed venue. Many thanks to all at the Arber who made my son's 40th birthday a very special day, thoroughly enjoyed by all!

To us the soup was a bit too salty but otherwise the whole meal (main, dessert…) was nice. Attentive service throughout.

The atmosphere at The Arber Garden was wonderful. Had my 2 little boys in tow for an afternoon out with a friend and the waiters were very prompt with asking if I'd like to place an order for their meals first, which made it easier for my friend and I to have a lovely catch up while they ate. Our starters were the lime chicken and they were delicious, the aperol spritz cooled us off, our mains were the burger and fish and chips. The portions were well sized, especially the kids meals were quite decent. The kids were kept entertained with coloring pages. The waiters interacted with the kids and chatted with them about their day. It was such great service from beginning to end. Very attentive. The facilities were kept clean and easy to access for my kids to use . Looking forward to going back soon!

Lovely restaurant, great service and really well priced tasty food. Unfortunately I thought the vibe would be adults having a fun time in cool relaxed atmosphere. The hen group were fine - away from main bar in a private room. All good. Either side of us were families and worst of all a screaming- literally screaming baby and an older child using my chair to hide behind for a game. That’s a big fat no from me. Couldn’t wait to get away- would have stopped for pudding and another drink but wasn’t feeling the crèche vibe. Next time I book anywhere I’ll ask if they have high chairs and if yes I’ll book somewhere else.

I have to say we were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant, we went for a impromptu lunch the food options were good and the waiter was really excellent!! He managed to sit us outside in the little bit of sun that came out! I had the chicken Caesar salad and others had the Tuna Nicoise which were both delicious and substantial . However 2 colleagues had the Potato & macadamia cheese gnocchi, they said it was really delicious but it was very small and looked like a starter, double this portion and it would have been perfect! Will definitely be back but please make this dish a bit bigger!

Food wasn't great, service very slow, very loud outside because of building works (they did warn us about this when we arrived) and Nightkey discount didn't make much difference, more expensive that expected for the experience

Both myself and my girlfriend had the beef burger. The food was tasteless, and in my burger in particular, the beef was either over cooked, or not a good cut. There were grissly bits that made it unpleasant. Other than the food, the service was good and the staff were nice. Just the food brought it down.

Our first visit and we had a lovely evening. There were eight of us and the menu had something for everyone. We will definitely be going back.

Rather disappointing and an overpriced meal. We ordered the charcuterie board to start, it was missing the chutney but we didn't realise until we'd almost finished it. When we flagged it to a member of staff the response was 'that looks like some chutney residue there' pointing at the board, then asked us 'what do you want me to do about it'. We were a bit taken aback. We told our friendly waiter what had happened, who apologised on their behalf and he took the initiative to take the starter off the bill, which we appreciated. Overall, it was an average meal which was largely overpriced. I wouldn't go again for food. But most of the staff were friendly, I got the impression they might have been understaffed.

Food took ages to arrive and my ceasar salad arrived missing the chicken!!! I did not complain because it was a business meeting which I did not want to distrupt

Lovely restaurant with cosy outside dining, in a superbly quiet part of London. Service quite slow, probably due to staff shortage, as always. Food lovely, but quite a limited menu.

This place is the perfect balance between chilled and stylish atmosphere. We gathered there with former colleagues, where we had plenty of space to relax, speak and enjoy the nice food and the lovely weather outdoors. The staff was excellent and super friendly. Will go back again.

Terrible service!! So slow and tiny portions compared to their sister properties in London (e.g the broadcaster in White City). Staff were oddly really confused when I said we didn’t feel comfortable paying service charge - no awareness of how good hospitality should be if you’re paying decent prices in central London! Wouldn’t go back or recommend to anyone

We had a family get together for 13 people. Our server was amazing and she made sure we had a great time. Great barman who knew his stuff - great cocktails . Despite it being a busy Friday night we were served promptly and drinks always topped up. Food was really good and the kids had their own menu. The scallop starter was great as was the steak. A nice airy place with a great bar. We all really enjoyed ourselves and a big thank you to our busy server - sorry I didn’t catch your name … must have been the Picpoul !

Lovely setting and design (the scaffolding looks temporary). But woefully understaffed. The staff we did interact with were all fantastic but overstretched, stressed and desperately trying to do their best. As a result it was all very slow and took ages for anything - ordering, delivery of the lovely cocktails and drinks. Food took forever and was slightly average for prime London prices.

Safe bet for a decent lunch in Fitsrovia. Varied menu, decent device and food very good.

Very poor - didn’t stay as welcome very off hand, environment not good as outside space surrounded by scaffolding. Didn’t stay for food but saw into kitchen - pre warmed Yorkshire puddings stacked up under the warmer,2 young chefs deciding if they could get away with away with serving a cremated schnitzel. Not a well run place

Not as child friendly as expected. Had child menus with colouring - but colouring pencils were blunt, though they found extra ones when we asked. Had child cutlery but only came when we asked for a teaspoon to help child eat peas. Service was slow so there was a long wait for food to arrive and then a long wait to give us dessert menus and to bring dessert. Food and prices were reasonable. There was no child area as described on open table.

Perfect restaurant for a leisurely Sunday afternoon enjoying a delicious Sunday Roast. The ambience was lovely, attentive service, and soothing decor.

Really lovely time and good food. Very relaxing and the excellent staff allowed us to stay for as long as we liked. Great experience all round.

We had our reservation at 6:30pm on a Wednesday. The ambiance was very nice and the overall décor very impressive. Our whole party arrived within half an hour and we had to go and ask the waiter to come take our drinks orders, some of which were delivered much later than others. It wasn't until 7:30 that our starter orders were taken. We didn't get these until 8:12pm. We were asked early on if we were 'in a rush.' We said no, not thinking that the rest of the wait would be so bad. We ordered our mains which did not arrive until 8:55pm, almost 2 and a half hours after we arrived. We were given no explanation as to what was causing the delay other than that the restaurant was 'very busy.' When we complained about the wait, we were told it was our fault and we should have said we were in a rush, but we never could have imagined it would be that long. We were given some free bread and olives throughout the night. Despite all having room for dessert, we all decided to leave as we did not want to be sat waiting longer and we had a work event in the morning. The music was also a tad louder than it needed to be which made conversation between a 10 person table difficult.

We enjoyed our meal, and thought the food was excellent. Perfect spot for a Sunday afternoon. We'll definitely go again. The only negative was another diner who was seated next to us, was a bit obnoxious about where she wanted her bag to go and got her feet out halfway through the meal. A bit too close for comfort!

We had a fantastic night at the Arber Garden. The service was great & quality of food excellent including the kids menu which was great value and high quality. Can highly recommend for a larger group gathering with kids.

Great service and food. We had brought our dog and they were quick to ensure our dog was given a water bowl and some treats which was a lovely touch. The waiting staff are friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed our experience so much, we came twice in 2 weeks. The noise level from other tables and the live music on Sunday can make it hard to hear each other but other than that it’s great place.

A very pleasant surprise. Low expectations of a very modern but pleasant pub/restaurant with a pricey menu. But the food was excellent and the wine list fun and fabulous. My cod was done to perfection.

Took a while for anyone to greet me to seat me for the booking. Took ages for someone to take drinks and food orders. After waiting ages, food eventually came and I had to wait almost 10 minutes for the steak knife. By this time my meal was cold.

Finally somewhere that ticks all the boxes for a Sunday lunch! The roast beef was excellent! Much better than any gastropub roast lunch I’ve been to. The service was the best I have had in London in a long time - our sever Oliver was just perfect. This is a really lovely well thought out place that excites me to return!

Excellent family Sunday lunch. Ages 18-80 everyone was happy with the table, the ambience, the food, and the service. Lovely for a spring occasion. Excellent central location, yet a calm and unhurried atmosphere. Loved the live piano entertainment. An oasis! Highly recommend, will be back. Rarely leave reviews, but The Amber Garden deserves a good one.

Second visit. Stumbled upon it the first time and managed to get a sneaky Sunday lunch with the hubby, outside in January which was amazing and warm enough. I organised a girls trip to London and wanted dinner on way back to train station. Booked The Arber Garden and hoped it lived up to the first time I went. Always feels a pressure if you are booking for a group. We had a fabulous meal with great service. All 5 of us loved our food and I was really pleased I’d chosen to come back here. Beautiful building and surroundings but lunch was a let down. My fish and chips looked nothing like the photo on their website! Fish was small and dense, no lovely fresh crispy batter and tasted like cheap fish not cod or haddock. It came with skin on skinny fries not the chunky chips it was supposed to come with, my granddaughters children’s meal was a dry looking piece of chicken and a tablespoon of mash even though we’d asked for fries instead and the broccoli was missing altogether. My glass of Prosecco was only three quarters full and at £9 was a rip off! There were only 4 dishes in the Mains section, the smallest pub menu we had ever seen so you would think they would be able to do them perfectly! I would only return in warm weather to have a drink in the lovely garden area!

Very generic restaurant with terrible service.

Curate’s egg of an experience. Really good and tasty food at a relatively modest price. Friendly and attentive service. However the restaurant was very empty and it is sprawling so has no atmosphere at all. And though it’s a joy to dine with friends and actually be able hear one another, it is rather sad that such effort be made with the food but so little done to make it a warm and inviting environment.

Fabulous place. A table for 2 alongside tables of 10 was a tad noisy and we had to ask for drinks a few times. Overall we enjoyed ourselves.

Lovely interior. Menu looked good and fair prices based on location. One unfortunate waitress between at least two sections on a busy lunch shift was not enough, we waited a long time to be seen after sitting and waited a long time for food to arrive. Her service was decent and she coped well, but she was clearly spread too thin. Burgers were a little dry and overcooked, steak was cooked nicely. I would return but only if I'm not on a time limit and would wait for staffing issues to be addressed before recommending.

Always great food here. We had the beef shin croquettes and salmon tartare for starters - both delicious. Then we had the roast sirloin, which was fantastic. Thank you

Lovely restaurant and prices are good. Had a lot of errors with food coming out of the kitchen (sauce for starter just rocked up as an empty pot, wrong sauces with our mains, one of our mains didn’t have elements that the other did and steak got cooked wrong a couple of times). Felt disappointed for what we hoped would be a nice belated Valentines dinner

Had a relaxed birthday lunch - exactly what I wanted and they didn't rush us off the table after 2 hours!
