Perch On The Pier in Worthing

We visited for the Ultimate Roast for Mothers Day! We were greeted by a friendly member of staff and shown to our table which allowed us to have an amazing view of the sunset! We ordered 2 of the ultimate sharing roasts and were all flabbergasted when they arrived; there was so much food! The sharing boards were presented beautifully and the food was delicious; it was lovely having a little of everything (stuffing, Yorkshire puds, veg, cauliflower cheese etc) and the pigs in blankets (available as an extra side) were so tasty!! We had a little break after the roast and then tried the sharing crumble and bottomless jug of custard; it was delicious! All staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back and will be recommending you to everyone! Thank you!

sat at the bar in front of staff. Ordered drinks and had to pay in advance, sat at the bar and then took 20 mins and had to ask why? Its not a restuarant order. 2nd visit here for a drink.. 2nd time this happened.. Management need to get drinks only system.at the bar and aalo open the bar upstairs.. This was a sunday lunch time.

A brilliant place for a meet up of friends. Atmosphere is amazing and friendly staff who care for their customers. The food was delicious and we all commented how good it was.

Excellent food and service. I chose lobster and crab ravioli followed by chocolate and pistachio mini doughnuts both courses delicious. All tables have great all round views through the art Deco windows. Lively early Saturday night atmosphere

We visited for drinks before dinner. We sat upstairs overlooking the sea. It felt like being on a ship! Lovely building restored well. Surprised by the cheap chairs (horrible pink colour) . In fact the whole place isn’t particularly well furnished or presented - plastic plants, cheap furniture. Go for the view though - it’s fab. Service a bit slow - my husband had to go and ask to place our order. We had a drink (prosecco and oeroni). The food didn’t appeal to us but because of the wonderful views we will return again for drinks.

Tofish and chips was delicious. My family also had fish and chips that they adored. Comfortable place to be and beautiful views.

Good food, staff very friendly and helpful, service great. I am marking them down for two things: our tabletop looked as though an oily rag had been passed quickly over it and all the marks of the cloth were left on the tabletop, where you could clearly see the circles as the cleaning agent or whatever had been deposited on the table and not rinsed or properly polished out. Secondly, the noise from the continuous thump of an electronic base 'music', completely repetitive and without variation, was maddening and ruined the rest of the very good experience. We asked them to turn it down, but apparently this was not an option. Would visit again only if we can sit outside. Lovely staff, what a shame.

We have been here before and services seem to have slipped . Steak very dry and smaller portions. We got served by 4 different people and it took ages to get drink / bill. We had to remind staff we were waiting. Unfortunately this place attracts mothers who decide to bring their offspring in to show off to others. Constant noise from a babys and children running around like it is a day care.

Fixed price menu at £23 for 3 courses is superb value great food nice atmosphere and really good service views across the sea are great

I'm sorry it's taken so long to do this review. We visited on our wedding anniversary for lunch in October and since then, we have told anyone that will listen how delightful it is. Jamie our server was really attentive and friendly. He gave us a good table and brought our drinks food and desert promptly. Unfortunately we were too full for coffees etc and it was over way too soon but we loved it and will definitely return. The building has been renovated and decorated to a high standard and is very tasteful. The food is devine! I had the best fish of my entire life and my husband had a steak sandwich like no other. The pudding was very nice too. Well done the team at The Perch for lovely food in wonderful surroundings and thank you Jamie for the great service.

Attended for the first time on 15/01. Took my Mum as an 86th birthday lunch treat. She is Worthing born and bred. We were sat at a table for two upstairs on the East side. Fortunately the weather was amazing, sunny with calm high tide. It was so clear and we could see Isle of Wight. Ru was our lovely waitress who was attentive but not over the top. Mum had the Fish Pie and said it was the best she’s ever tasted (that’s saying something for an 86 year old) and I had the mussels dish which was gorgeous. We had a coffee each after and Ru brought a complimentary small lemon meringue pie with raspberry and few blueberries for the birthday girl - she loved that, such a nice touch. Can’t rate our hour and a half highly enough. Super decor, background music and amazing food. Thank you Ru. We’ll be back for sure!!

We went along for lunch as a party of 13 & had the most wonderful time. We pre ordered in advance which made for a fuss free meal as we didn't have to spend ages looking at the menu etc. We were served very promptly & the drinks came quickly considering we had all pretty much ordered something different. Same with the food, it all came out fast & piping hot & was absolutely delicious. Our server was funny, efficient & made our visit. He treated my nan & grandad so lovely & made a fuss of my nan for her birthday, which she loved! The place itself is just beautiful! Thank you for such a lovely day, we won't hesitate to come back!

It was not more than 3/4 full Food ok, service very slow and disorganised We sat upstairs and ordered drinks as we passed the waiter on the way to sitting down It still took 10m+ to be served the drinks We ordered food which took 15m to be served and I ordered another glass of wine to have with my food. We saw it served at the downstairs bar. It must have been moved from tray to tray 5 times rather than being brought up to us. We eventually called to the bar to ask them to bring it upstairs. If we hadn't I would had it after I'd finished the meal Customer clearly comes last after they followed their clearly inefficient processes Surely if someone has started a meal the waiter should wait at the bar for the drinks and take them straight back. However, the bar makes the drinks and just leaves it for anyone to deliver. I think we suffered because the person manning upstairs clearly didn't want to do any work and all other staff were covering for them Very badly organised. It's not a proper restaurant. A proper restaurant would have table service organised properly and efficiently

Very warm welcome on arrival & exceptionally friendly, happy waitress who served us . Cocktails were amazing & food was faultless . Recommend the Prawn starter & Beef stir fry. A lovely evening had by all ! And very good value too for the quality of food. Also very Christmassy atmosphere, with nice background music.

Not often I write a review but had to today! Had the sharing roast dinner and my word, how delicious was this. Plenty of beef, chicken and ham hock along with cauliflower cheese, parsnips, red cabbage, tender stem brocoli, carrots, home made yorkies which were scrumptious and roast potatoes. Pigs in blankets were extra but worth it. Proper sausages wrapped in streaky bacon! As much gravy as you wanted, just ask for more. Far too much food though but they gave us tin foil so that my brother could have left overs for his lunch tomorrow! Also took some chicken home for our cat! Would highly recommend. Best roast dinner we've had in a long time. Icing on the cake - meeting Peter James who had been filming at the Perch for his next Roy Grace series. Lovely man who took time out to speak to us!

Went with a friend for meal on arrival impressed with layout and overall impression was positive , unfortunately the food was not very good , I had the mussels and there were so many closed ( I should have maybe said to staff so my fault !) but was was bland , husband had the chicken and it was raw ! It was taken away and redone but we had by then finished our meals ! This was removed from The bill but still was disappointing The cocktails were nice but at the end of the meal asked for Irish coffee to be told they don’t do them ! Found this very strange in a. Restaurant ! Can’t be hard to learn how to make! So overall not impressed and would not recommend

We came here for the Sunday sharing board roast dinner and it was incredible the food was lovely the service was brilliant from Aimee she really was fantastic and so helpful the setting is unbelievable in any weather the decor was really really nice but most importantly again the food was great and I thought the whole experience was excellent value for money I would definitely return and recommend to friends

Took a work colleague out for dinner here , the service was good but the food was not good especially the prawn and feta which had melted in the hot tomato sauce which ended up more like soup. The biggest disappointment was the expensive roasted lamb rump which was not roasted but chargrilled, more blue than medium rare and very tough, this was the biggest disappointment. We were also rushed drinking our coffee because the gates of the pier were going to be locked at 10.30. Not a restaurant I will be returning to or recommending.

Returned here for a family lunch and was equally delighted. The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. I had the glazed salmon and poke plate. I would highly recommend it. We will be returning for sure.

Such an easy review to write. Lovely meal looking out over the sea. Great value, fantastic quality, friendly service, what more could you ask for. This recommendation is given again without reservation.

The reception was welcoming and service was great. It’s a wonderful building with wonderful views, that’s been beautifully decorated and furnished. The meals were lovely and for the quality very reasonably priced.

First visit on a damp Monday for lunch. They were fully booked but we sat at the bar and the lovely friendly manager managed to get us a table despite being so busy. Lovely warm friendly service from all the staff and by the guy behind the bar. Food was excellent, great value. The whole experience from start to finish was first class. Thank you all so much. The three of us will return soon to be sure.

Great spot, good food. Went for their sharing roast though not as good as last year. Quite a few dogs in the restaurant and don't get me wrong as I am an animal lover but not hygienic for them to be in the restaurant. Pubs and bar areas OK but not in this type of environment. Sat next to a barky dog which was quite of putting.

A Beautiful location but a shame after being sent to two different areas l couldn't get anyone to take my order. I left with out any coffee.

This was my first visit and I thought it was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant has been beautifully decorated, has a lovely buzzy atmosphere and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I decided on the Feel Great Greens lunch option as did my friend and they were not only visually stunning, but also thoroughly delicious. At times the service could have been a little quicker for my liking BUT that made no difference to the overall experience and I will be returning 100%.
