The food was really spicey I asked for hot and it was like extreme not really good my wifey didn’t even eat cause she’s not aloud to eat soocey

Missing items, most importantly my child's cheesecake which she then cried about

Apart from a chocolate fudge cake missing the food was brilliant as usual.

We ordered 2 meals and paid £47 waited for the delivery it changed to delivered but we didn’t receive the order at all. Contacted pepes and they were no help at all didn’t have any details for the driver or any help what so ever. Won’t order again!

Wrong orders! We ordered our usual mild meal chicken burger which was plain with lettuce but they were all hot with red hot sauce! And the wraps also supposed to be mild & lemon herbs but one of them is hot and labelled hot too, which obviously isn’t my order! Often very Poor attention to what is customer’s actual ! And also one of burgers was smaller than the other as usual !! We’re regular customer and we expect the same loyalty we have towards you! We expect more quality! not worse everytim

Can I just say, coming from London to now recently moving to Derby this Pepes has been a real let down. Firstly; the chickens either over cooked or under cooked. The rice is mushy. And the pitta’s are dry! The customer service is poor. You’re waiting around an hour for your food. Even when you’ve ordered it over the phone. They do prioritise Uber orders rather than face to face. While I was there, a man had to come from home to complain about his uber order which had been delivered to him. - and it was wrong! On a Saturday night this is the last thing you want to be doing. Best to go to a different pepes, closest one being Nottingham or Burton. Pepes Derby/ you need to fix up. Letting down the Pepes franchise name big time.

It should be ranked as the worst takeaways in Derby. They take more orders than they can handle. That Abu Bakar guy and the girl with him have no idea how to handle the till. If you can't prepare orders, either turn off your delivery apps or pause your services for dine in orders. Waste of time.

Absolutely terrible experience today. I waited 49 minutes for a simple order of 1/2 chicken and paneer wraps. Despite repeatedly asking, I was told other orders were ready—even ones placed after mine—but my food wasn’t even on the grill yet! The lack of organization and care from the staff was shocking, and the wait was completely unacceptable. For the prices they charge, you’d expect much better service. I won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone until they fix their service issues.

I visited on Saturday at 7:10 PM and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. After placing my order, I waited for 40 minutes, only to be told that the food hadn’t even made it to the grill yet. The lack of communication and long wait was extremely frustrating. I had hoped for a much smoother dining experience, but this visit fell far below expectations.

Terrible experience at Pepe’s today. The restaurant was incredibly dirty, with tables left uncleared and the floor littered with food scraps. It felt like no one had cleaned up in hours. The atmosphere was chaotic, and the staff seemed completely disinterested in maintaining any level of cleanliness or order. It made the whole dining experience uncomfortable and unpleasant. I definitely won’t be returning unless they seriously improve the hygiene and cleanliness of the place.

We ordered and didn’t revive our order for another 1hour and 40 minutes then to find half our order wasn’t delivered and the food that was delivered was wrong we then went all the way down to the shop just to be told they can’t do anything and to go though just it

Absolutely shambolic! Service staff standing at the back ignoring customers at front taking ages for service. I ordered half chicken meal mango and lime by mistake gave me inferno! The tables were unkempt and rotten place. If I could give below 1 I would. Health and safety need to check this place due to these amateurs I have food poisoning. Will be informing health and safety.

I am reviewing the food not the delivery. This is an update. 9 years eating here now, they have inflated the prices waaay too much. It starts to not be worth it anymore. Have been eating at this place for about 6 years. Ofc they made mistakes sometimes with my order like the wrong spice but no biggie as they would just make a new one. The chicken taste is the best i can find anywhere on Normanton Road or City Centre and always fresh, you should know that i tried every single place on Normanton Road and places arround as i am a foody and I always try every place after i move in the neighborhood. The guys there were always friendly with me and never had any arguments. I like going there and chill while waiting for the food then go on my way after i finish eating. I understand the frustration if your order was wrong but chill and ask them to fix it for you and probably they will. That is for my review.

The food was great but it took one hour and 35 minutes to get delivered which I think is way too long for fast food, not exactly fast is it. But on the plus side it was still warm. Don’t think I’ll be ordering from here in a rush again, might do if I’ve got all day to wait.

Wrong sauce pots given (happens every time and it’s really annoying) also I ordered my burger lemon and herb and it came plain and we paid extra for peri salt and there was barely any of the chips at all. It’s been bad the last few times we’ve ordered so won’t be doing it again now

The paper is always stuck to the wrap, burger or whatever sort of bread you get, can't eat it! And all the sauce from the meat dripped all over the paper bag! For the outrageous amount of money paid it's always bad

the platter drink 1.5 ltr was missing and this is not the first time i have odered the platter and the drink doesnt show i have requested it to be a diet coke or zero befere as i am diabetic when i call the shop they say we ran out of coke zero how about refunding the money or disable the drink option.However today i odered 1.5ltr Tango for my family still didnt get it and thats £2.49 each order .Not very happy

Updating my comment from a few years ago. This place was never perfect but it has gone drastically downhill. If they aren't giving your food to somebody else, or making uber eats drivers wait so long that they just cancel your order, when you do get your food, it's either undercooked or burnt, an completely void of taste. I used to get a chicken and rice box every weekend. Now I am banning myself from this place for good because it is so dry and absolutely tasteless with zero sauce (they used to have sauce on it) so now it's just a box of dry rice and dry burnt chicken. I have taken my business to maeme's down the street. The prices are the same and even though the portions are ever so slightly smaller, it's fine because they have so much more flavour, at least with the chicken and rice box. Pepe's is done.

Worst run Pepes I have ever seen. Either Extremely understaffed, or just a bunch of monkey's working in the back that can't even process a simple order. The line of 15 or so delivery drivers makes it impossible to place an order, had to wait 20 minutes before it was cleared up enough to finally speak to somebody, to then wait almost an hour for a simple rice box. Not on.

the quarter chicken was cooked perfectly, and so filling. Excellent food, hearty and delightful. The only complaint would be the delivery time.

If I'm going to be honest, I didn't have high hopes of what my experience was going to be like considering the area that this Pepe's in... but I still do have a lot of reservations about my time at Pepe's Normanton Road. When I first ordered the food, the person who was serving me I believe couldn't really speak English well. This isn't entirely his fault if he's new to the country, but at the same time it did make it quite difficult trying to communicate with him. The service was quite lengthy as I ordered at 12.55pm, but then the food came out at 1.35pm. 40 minute wait time during a period where it's not busy I do think is unreasonable if I'm beingThis is much longer than I expected to be honest in terms of wait time, compared to other Pepe's that I've been to in Birmingham. Even when the food was ready, there was still a pitta bread I was waiting on. When I tasted the food, it felt like the chicken had died twice! It was just poor in terms of taste and lacked that Pepe's flavour I was craving. Perhaps the chicken just lacked sauce. I would like to complain because I just believe the service was way too slow. It would be ideal if Pepe's could give me an email I can complain to in order to improve the customer service going forward.

Paneer salad was a mushy mess. The chicken strips were cold and greasy. On this occasion the only good thing was the garlic mayo dip.

AVOID. This is the worst pepes branch i’ve ever ate from i’ve ordered a few times now in hope you’d up the standards after the ‘refurb’. The chips are always dry and stale with no peri peri salt on that we pay an extra 30p for and you don’t even put anything on it, The chicken is dry as anything. Just avoid at all costs

Really bad experience. First he gave my order to someone else. And i have to wait again for my order. And after eating my food, i regret to take it at home. No taste, no proper cooking. Honestly i didn't enjoy my deal after spending £22. So i won't recommend any one to go to pepe. And obviously this will be my last meal at pepe. I bought 2 items and both were rubbish. For owner: You spend all your money on branding. Should also spend on staff and food that people are paying you for.

STAY CLEAR !!!!! Undercooked chicken in the burger, and for a hot burger i expected more than undercooked chicken wirh chili flakes on it, the lemon and herb was again plain chicken cooked and then theybsquirted lemon sauce over it drowning the meat and the paper plate. Loaded box was again plain chicken no flavour soaked in some sauce the flavour we couldnt figure it out the only edible thing was the receipt and the chips and the paper straw in the drink other than that the restbwill give u food poisioning.

I ordered 4 garlic mayo dips. i opened the first which initially smelt like boiled eggs which isn’t right however i continued to finish the dip. when i open the second dip the stench hit even harder, which led me to opening the 2 remaining dips to find out they all smell really bad. after finishing one of the dips - later that night i got really bad cramps, then i was on the toilet for 2 hours. you get the idea. been in bed all day today. that’s very concerning how many people you guys possibly made unwell -

Waited 3 hours finally got through to restaurant for them to say it’s not there fault if I want my food come collect it from the restaurant and now been marked as delivered without receiving any food

My experience at pepes derby was very disappointing. Poor customer service had to wait 10 minute to place an order only to be met with a rude staff member with no manners what so ever .then had 2 wait close to 40 minutes for chicken rice and half chicken which was cold . Dirty tables all together an unprofessional atmosphere. First time order wasted 30 pounds and never again .
