China Chef in Derby

Number one please for a Chinese! Absolutely love it, The only bad thing is , it’s closed Mondays and I’m starving! Thanks China chef for my lovely food !

Ordered a beef curry which was part of a "specials deal" what I got certainly wasn't a beef curry,since when do you get beansprouts and grated carrot, amongst other strange things in a Chinese curry?,safe to say it went in the bin,nothing short of disgusting,I used to use this place quite regular,but never again

Food is always fantastic and reasonably priced.

Best chinese takeaway I have had in Derby so far. They also give fortune cookies which I was surprised and happy about. Their food is good. If you are in Derby order food from here.

Absolutely garbage,beansprouts are boiled to death,chow mein was greasy,didnt bother opening the rest of the dishes.binned the lot.NEVER AGAIN.

the Chicken Curry Chicken Was Very Watery Same As The Chicken Balls.. The Curry Sauce Was Like A Red Colour Which Was Weird.. Other Bits Okay.. Had To Call About The Chicken They Told Me They Buy Pre Cook Chicken 🤢

Was really happy with the food from here ! Had a little bit of confusion regarding wanting my special chow main dry but once I was able to explain to the chief they understood what I meant . The only thing that I was not a fan of is there curry sauce I actually thought it was the sweet and sour sauce as it was really bizarre colour 😔 and it didn’t taste that nice either so that went in the bin ( would like them to think about changing there curry sauce to the traditional Chinese curry sauce But Yh am enjoying the food Will deffo order from here again 👊🏾

Not sure if a dog would eat here chicken ain't chicken soft slimy either cook from frozen dont waste your money!

Chicken balls were pink in the middle and prawn toast didn’t look cooked well enough was scared to eat as didn’t want food poisoning

Always beautiful food always friendly staff. Food is really really lovely, they have the best prawn toast and seaweed. The meat can sometimes be a bit gristley but you get what you pay for. The chicken and cashews is a personal favourite. Chefs special rice is also very special.

It is the only place I can buy Chinese Takeaway. The BBQ ribs are to die for. Their fried rice too. I have been buying from them for 12 years.

I went to the Chinese on the 28th of June. 23 The food was disgusting. I ordered chicken Chow mein Beef and mushroom two portions of chips, sweet-and-sour sauce and eight spring rolls. Here we go on arriving home. The sweet-and-sour sauce was cold.Also the chips were disgusting as though they’ve been dipped again the chow mein was cold. The beef and mushroom was cold and The spring rolls look like they’ve just gotten out of the freezer because they were not cooked properly so I phoned them up and she on the phone very rude to me. She said you’re not getting a refund. I’ve had the food for an hour as it doesn’t really matter how long I’ve had the food for, I’m not bringing it back My advice is to not go to this Chinese I think it’s got one star it’s a shabby place and it stinks when you go inside. They will not be getting my custom again in the way they spoke to me I go there twice a week. Oh dear, what a shame, Awful food and awful service

Food was really good. They called to explain delay in delivery sue or the weather and distance, totally worth it! This was my birthday treat and I'm very pleased x

We usually go to Mings Court, however it was closed the day we decided to have a takeaway. China Chef were accommodating for my garlic allergy and vegan requirements, but unfortunately the food was very bland.

this is the best chinese in my opinion and compared to others i have ordered from. delivery time is always great and they get my order right every time unlike others. the food tastes amazing. would 100% recommend

It does not open on time and we have been waiting for 1 hour and it has still not opened wast of my time

Rice, curry , salty chilli chips, veg spring rolls ,really nice however chicken batter balls pink and chewy binned them . But rest of food nice

Would give minus stars if possible. One occasion the food was blatantly reheated from the days before leftovers then after giving another chance instead of noodles with the special chow mein they sent dried up old fried rice then tried telling me first that is how chow mein is then after me showing them their own picture which includes noodles not rice they tried to tell me I ordered dried up old fried rice and not chow mein

First time we’ve ordered from China Chef Derby The food was delivered within the time quoted, Was still hot. Big plus Thoroughly enjoyed the Special Curry, chips & fried rice. The sauce was delicious We’ll definitely order from them again

Last 2 orders have been wrong 1st order chicken curry instead of beef ?.2nd order 2 lots of chips ordered and paid for ! but no chips rang them they didn't want to know.Last time we will order from them.There are plenty of takeaways so why accept rubbish service.Never again.

Good food, good service, god delivery!!

Not good. Had chicken curry, chicken pieces looked and tasted awful, resembled pieces of rubber. Chips were over cooked and rock hard. Will not be coming here again.

I actually use to enjoy this take away..until i had an item missing when i called back the english girl on the phone was so very rude she actually ask what she wanted me to do about it and laughed she puts the phone down on me i tried to call back several times but she must of kept hanging up on me so very rude so just because of your telephone staff youve lost a customer that ordered from yourselves at least twice a week.

Waited an hour & half... The beef in the Chop suey tasted exactly like the chicken in the chicken curry & the texture of the meat Wad disgusting. The curry sauce was just about edible or though the colour was off putting bright orange isn't what I'm used to, then there was the chips.... Ewwww rock hard dry mess. Will not be coming here ever ever again.

1 1/2 hour wait and still counting, said it was minutes away at 40min, then one hour and finally never arrived. Bad service, will NOT use again.
