The worst place and the most terrible stuff.

Took the order, did not prepare. Staffs chat a lot in the Kitchen

Collection order via Just Eat. Paid for a garlic sauce and it was forgotten, had to go back to the counter and ask for it, luckily I hadn’t left the store yet. Got home started to eat my food, opened the sauce and there’s only 15ml in there!!!! The lid states the contents are 45ml!!!! Where’s the other 30ml???? Soo disappointed as I love this sauce all over my chicken and rice box, I wasn’t given the portion I paid for so I didn’t have enough sauce and I didn’t enjoy my meal as a result 😢. Will be going back to Rios.

This is ridiculous I orderd at 6:00 it is now 9:00 and no sign we have payed for it but no sign I am so hungry it’s outrageous I am not happy with this I can also say I do not recommend because if it ever turns the live while CHIKEN will show up at my door also it is not nice gross honestly take my advice

Food is ok but the wait time for getting your food is insane. Can easily be waiting for over 30 minutes for a couple of simple orders.

Ordered from Uber eats. Arrived 30mins late and got no apology. The delivery driver was also very rude- didn’t greet me when I greeted twice, didn’t even look at me, just handed my food and walked away. The food was nice but I order from here again.

Ordered takeout today for family. Lovely service and good quality food. Period chicken was juicy full of sauce. Beef Burgers were delicious. Garlic sauce top notch. Decent service.

We ordered through uber eat and the food was awful. Bad smells and the test was expired. They charged us double and when we try to cancel the order or call the store we couldn't. Vegetables were over dated and soggy. I don't know how they get the hygiene certificate

Awuful and terrible taste! The grill wings were burnt and it was delivered in overcooked oil. The chicken wings weren't fresh. Not recommend at all!

Doesnt matter what you order even if its just a portion of chips, minimum wait is 30 minutes

made a order thru uber eats at 7pm it said it will be here at 7:50-8:10 it’s now 9pm iv rang the store 23 times no answer somone did answer in one of the calls and left the phone out so it couldn’t ring i still haven’t got my food nor have i got my £20 back what a useless place

Few years ago they did make very good food compared to now it’s rubish I’m very disappointed always late delivery and burnt food not recommended.

Got delivery, 45mins late! No bloody apology and refused to notify me! Food used to be delicious, now it’s vile, either burnt or undercooked, the dips have changed, the garlic is soo overwhelming, the food gave me a hella bad stomach ache! Honestly not going to bother anymore, lost a customer.

I just called the restaurant to order. I was trying to do it online but it’s not working. So I called at reception and the guy who picked the call he is just not listening anything. I have him my postcode and he straightaway disconnect the call without even listening me. That’s really bad service .! They have good food but the service is really bad . I always order food but now it’s not on my list anymore .

Honestly, this is a fast food styled kebab shop. The chicken was dry and the sauce couldn't save it. The piri chips sucked. Thry seasoned 2 of the chips with a pile of spice and the rest were untouched. The Pepsi tasted weird also. There's better places in Portswood for the price ud pay here. Service were nice tho.

Rude staff! They Burnt my food in revenge! Whilst ordering food member of staff on the till kept rushing to take the order for no reason as there was no one else in the establishment to serve. I requested for the order to be read back to check if it was correct but he ignored the first request, he was asked a second time to which he replied, it will be on the recipient, I didn't want to make a fuss thus I remained silent. After paying and reviewing the receipt I noticed the order was incorrect, I spoke to the same person, he started arguing then walked away when he knew he was wrong, he began bad mouthing in another language. Unfortunately for him I knew what he was saying! I couldn't believe his reaction and told him if you can't be bothered to serve customers politely you shouldn't be working in customer service, another staff member intervened corrected the mistakes without making fuss, sadly that person also made a comment when I sat down, thinking I wouldn't hear. Insult to injury went home to find one burger was incorrect flavour, but this wasn't the main issue, the burgers were burnt! Had the throw all the burgers away as it was like eating charcoal. The remaining order was fine, its a shame they had the inact their revenge by ruining our iftar. It's not the first time I have encountered rude staff at this establishment. I stopped going previously, family member what to give them another chance, but they lived up to their reputation.

I ordered food from portswood branch southampton. order was supposed to arrive at 6.30pm arrived 7.55pm food was cold! I tried contacting the branch kept picking phone up and then putting it down. Customer service is diabolical. Standards have dropped since!

Food is good but the speed is a joke, and I ordered once on just eat for them to just ignore the order

I ordered this food at 6:50 pm, by 8:40 I had still not received the food I ordered. I tried phoning multiple times to ask for an update on my order and they didn’t answer any of the times I called. On top of this, the delivery was repeatedly pushed back with no explanation. When asking for a refund they did not offer any help. The order finally arrived two hours later. Terrible service

Ive been to many Pepes in my time across the UK and this one is by far the worst. Empty inside and food took ages to come, staff are rude and none of them understand what I was saying. Chicken strips my friend ordered tasted microwaved and were watery and yet dry inside. I got the quesadillas and they were not as nice as I've had them before.

Estimated delivery time 9.45-10.05 so at 10.20 a was told my order was 2 minutes away! At 10.35 rang again and was told 10 mins. Finally arrived at 10.47, what an absolute joke. Would not order from here again staff don’t tell the truth

The delivery driver was inept and hot headed. When asked to leave my food at the main door, he asked which window. When I raised my voice saying main door he got touchy and asked why I shouted at him. It was actually because I was driving and he couldnt hear me right the first time. Hence I had to shout for "main door". Not to harrass but to stress. When asked why I shouted, I said because he was an A hole and in turns I was told F you by the delivery guy. All fair and square there. But remember, I order Pepe atleast once or twice a month. You can check this at the restaurant. I wont order from you again just like I stopped ordering via Deliveroo.

I genuinely can’t believe how a business can be so bad at what they do after running for so many years. I ordered a paneer rice which clearly had old outdated cheese, which absolutely stank to the point that you could smell it outside the bag, needless to say I struggled to sleep and was sick. I came 20 minutes after Uber said my order was ready for collection just to find out that it wasn’t actually ready and I had to wait for a further 20 minutes. The only reason I ever come to Pepe’s is because I love the sauce and the spice, but if it was possible to buy them elsewhere, I wouldn’t set foot in any of their restaurants again in my life. For the prices they charge, their service is completely unacceptable.

Food delivered very cold &30 mins late

Pepe’s Piri Piri used to my favourite take but unfortunately today was last order I made with them. I made online and ask to give extra time to the chicken but may intentionally they raw chicken with blood, photo is attached.

Food took an hour then was given wrong order by driver so he returned and swapped the order back so unfortunately the next customer received food that I had been already opened. On top of that shocked at the potion sizes. Probably the worst takeaway experience I’ve ever had. Cooked food after eating it which is not what you expect for almost £30 between two people would never order again.

Came 2 hours late and food was disgusting, gave me food poisoning and makes me sick of rice. Never eating here again

They need to learn how to wrap a wrap up properly, the bread was soggy and cold.. also portion is quite poor, especially for extra "large" chips I do recommend their ricebox tho, usually quite decent.

Waited a considerably long time to be served and usually their food is good but on this occasion the food was burnt and overcooked even after addressing with staff who advised to contact the head office. Had a message back that the cctv was reviewed and no contact made with the staff to rectify the issue after food being served. This will be the final time I will be using this store and will take my business elsewhere considering I’m being spied on.

We heard great things about this place so ordered a feast and it did not disappoint!! We are just on the edge of the catchment area for delivery but even during rush hour on a Saturday night, it only took an hour. We were too excited by the quantity of food and the mouthwatering smells to take photos (sorry!) My husband had the chicken nachos and I had half a chicken, the chick n rice to share and a tonne of sides and sauces…the portions were massive (we way over ordered), so we stuffed ourselves silly and saved some for the next day. I can’t comment on the nachos personally but my husband rated it highly. But my oh my the half chicken!!…not only was it quality meat, but the bag was full of sauce so you could keep topping up the flavour. I didn’t need any dip for the chips as I had an abundance from my chicken 🤤 I really cannot wait to order again.

Honestly from start to finish I was impressed with the speed of delivery, the portion sizes, and the taste was out of this world! The menu is vast but easy to navigate, will definitely be going again.

This is my best chicken grill peri peri restaurant. They are mostly good, but sometimes you don't get the sauce around the chicken in concentrated and it becomes like a soup. Please Pepe be aware of this.

The atmosphere was awesome.I had a great time eating delicious food.I definitely like that you have very following modern food. Mostly important there is 2 hour free parking in the heart place in Portswood.

Great halal beef, chicken and lamb. I am not muslin but I am happy eating meat, halal or not. The spicy fries were delicious and just cooked. The chicken wrap was full of flavour but I would have like more, either thighs which are more juicy or have the breast fried with breadcrumbs. Overall good customer service,

Missing my drinks, dips and chips! The restaurant done absolutely nothing about it and told me to take it up with someone else so I am sat here at 10pm with a hungry child cooking our chips! Never ordering again!!!

Food delivered late, cold, burnt and tasteless today. No flavour added to the paneer, totally bland and dry. When you try and call them after a delivery they don't answer the phone so left with no option but to post this review.

Came here for a quick bite to eat. Ordered the food but it took a while for it to come to us. People ordered after us and got their food quicker. Not bad value here. Wasn’t the greatest place to eat but it’s ok.

Love pepes, it's mine and my families go-to. The only downside is the time it takes for food to be delivered and served if sitting in.

The food is always been good and best. It's difficult to find an Asian cuisine with such a b r illanat taste and good quality. The staff are always friendly dly and they server the best and very quick on their services including the hot cooked food with perfectly packed delivery bag and if in case of dine in they serve with a black tray and some seivert and tissues for Excellent presentation they also make the soul filled with joy as they fill the stomach with the quantity of the food they provide.. There are various vegetarian options also available and good to have a panner dish. They cook food separately not to mix the vegan and non vegan product at the same fryers. They cook the chips or fries very well upto the golden yellow color. Incase of spicy fries they used good spicy mix masala to produce better taste and quality. They also have lots of other side meals and different snack options I loved their chicken rice, lamb burgers and chicken wings. The fired chicken is always been crisp and good to taste with no bad soggy appearances. They always look amazing. Not to try is their burrito rolls. They have a good space to dine in around 30 persons can fit easily. Parking is not available at free of cost. It's at the center point of Portswood shopping center. Overall satisfaction level is really reasonable and amazing for their food and experience eventhough their pricing is bit affordable. The shop is maintained very clean and hygienic and has a toilet accessibility for 1 person at a time.

I would never order again.. I waited 2 hours for my order which when finally arrived was cold. I called the shop 2 times, to be told my order had left the shop and would be with me in 10 minutes. After a 20 minute wait, I called the shop again to be told to go and stand outside as the driver was near (I live in a house not flat). I expressed how i had been waiting 2 hours when originally I was told it would be 30-45 minutes. The staff member was very rude and told me he closes in 15 minutes so nothing he can do and put the phone down on me.

Never received food, restaurant had us waiting until 2:30 (order was made at 12:00 still never got our food), terrible service employee was very rude kept lying insisting how it would be 10-15 more minutes every half hour I called. would not advise to order from this shop specifically, wouldn’t even feed it to my dog, shocking how there still in business have made multiple orders before gets worse n worse (cold stale food, very long delivery hour - hour n half each order, food Is very soggy compared to how it used to be) absolutely disgusting for the price you pay if u ask me not one to moan normally delicious, place Is falling apart.

One of the many chicken places in the Portswood area. It was ok but it was a cold day and they had no heating. The wait for my takeaway took an eternity which didn't help.

If you want your food today you need to have ordered it yesterday. We waited for 45 minutes for a burger and a rice box. The place is also uncomfortably freezing cold to expect diners to eat in. Just don't waste your time.

Slowest service in the history of man kind

I ordered food in the residents this evening and the service was exceptional. I had a item missing from my order and they delivered it out to me very quickly. The lady who served me was brilliant! The food was excellent too, I recommend it.

Order was out for delivery for 50 mins and arrived 35 mins after the restaurant was closed... Food was cold and stale and the delivery driver lied to my face about the closing time to try and reassure me that it wouldn't be cold. Absolutely disgusting behavior

Dry corn on the cob , garlic mayo like water , such a long wait , the 1/4 piri piri chicken was just basically really dry stale drumstick of chicken , wasnt great either .. however friendly staff and it was clean

I've used them for so many years (2016)and also uber and deliveroo,honestly cannot fault them and tried most things on the menu,fast delivery always piping hot and been honestly faultless,so definitely well done staff and manager 👏 👍

Placed an order for £17.79 on Saturday 17th September at approximately 7.00pm payed on my credit card and waited for two hours only to be told my Apple Pay is not active? I did not pay with Apple Pay!!!! I have proof of purchase on my credit card statement ! I called the takeaway only to be told my order on the 9th September was not recognised!!! My preference over the other "Chicken Place" for piri piri , the chicken n rice is the best and garlic sauce is some of the best I've tasted , staff nice and always seem happy and friendly

Ordered this evening and had 2 food items missing.

I placed order. After waiting 30mins phone to check is order going to be sent. What told has left and i will get in 6-7 mins again after not receive my order 15min later i called back was told the order is made and has just left the store. And i will get in 20mins i explained i had been called before and was told already left and i will get in 6-7 mins and now told its sent, at this point i was quite upset how hard is it to inform me the status of my order. I asked how do i cancel my order i was directed to the app. I then asked why will the order take 20min as this time of night with no traffic how is this possible she then explained my order is 2nd one so i will have to wait longer. I accepted and 30 mins later called to food out were is my order the same lady said she cancelled my order, when i asked her why she explained i asked her to cancel however this is untrue. I went ok to explain i asked her how i do she told me to go to app so i chose not to do this and why is my order canceled. She went on to saying they had no drivers so she cancel it. I then said my order were with driver so do you have a driver or not coz it cant be with a driver without having drivers, i ask the lady why i was being tied to. In which case she told me she not lying 🤥 i will not recommend this place of food wont get your food and wont tell the truth i told here in the call i was going to place a review about my service today hoping she would offer my order or a gesture of good will about a situation she cant control if any. However when i asked her are you going to do anything about this she replied no. And i asked her name at this point she disconnected the line avoid avoid avoid if the service is this bad and unclear or direction what will anything else be .
