Pentrebane Fish Bar in Cardiff

I’ve ordered and had deliveries plenty of times over the years. Good is always freshly cooked, staff really polite and chatty. Great for locals.

The most disgusting cheaply made curry sauce from a packet powder flavour I can’t believe I payed the money for the chicken curry and rice and it was awful the whole lot on the bin ! The only that was fresh and ok was chips which I waited 20 mins for anyway , the rest was horrible. Burnt sausage and cheap curry rice I will go to the green in future !

Unfortunately the prices have gone up which ok,everything has,but the portions have been reduced,a large chips are like a kiddies meal size and you pay around £3 for a handful.the waiting time is herendous,10-15min for just chips...gone and going downhill.👎

Food is cooked fresh every single time. Food is always piping hot and very tasty. The owner and his son’s are lovely and chatty, always try their best to please. I have never had a better kebab from anywhere else… truth! The portion sizes are really generous also.

Minced beef and onion pie was the worst I've ever had anywhere. The top was stale and rock hard. Chips were okay. Price was not good considering quality of the food.

Good prices and good quality food. Considering the increase in costs on fish and food in general, they've managed to keep their costs competitive and relatively low, without impacting the quality. Staff are all friendly, and the service is pretty fast.

Didn't like my mixed kebab,it wasn't cut from the meat when i was waiting it was already in the pot ,then taken out and warmed up in a frying pan in the pizza oven, not my way of having a kebab.

Fantastic cheese burgar. With proper cheese no flimsy yellow slice. Chips were great and piping hot. Also our delivery man was so lovely. Thank you Also delivered in about 20 minutes to fairwater :)

Have attempted to place 3 orders from this place now on deliveroo. Each time they have left it sitting for about a minute before it is rejected. If you are too busy to accept an order then take yourself offline, or do you want to cherry pick orders and only accept the bigger ones while leaving potential customers with money tied up in pre authorisation with bank up to a few days? Disgraceful, Will never try again.

Absolutely spot on guys thank you , ok it doesn't come in a box ( Cod) but you don't charge for a box excellent. Your are definitely the best in the area !!!! Fairwater and Danescourt 👎..

Very poor service today. After using this chip shop on numerous times and was previously satisfied, extremely disappointed that our delivety order hasn't arrived, when we rang them to find out what has happened, and was told that their delivery driver has been held up with roadworks. Being born and raised in the area, and was in Pentrebane today there is no roadworks between the chip shop and my home, the only roadworks are currently on Waterhall Road, that's in the opposite direction. The man the said we're really busy... so why all the rubbish about roadworks? No apology, just been told "it will come tonight" ?!?!? Now nearly an hour and a half later and still no sign of our delivery. Update: just delivered, least the driver apologised for the delay. Will avoid in future as we don't like being lied to.

Always get my cod delivered from here. Always excellent.

Awful. Poor service. Nasty food. I paid £4 for this cod. It was hidden & squished underneath the chips. I called to complain and the owner said all his fish are like this. I also asked for the food to be delivered at a social distance. The guy who delivered the food was waiting on my doorstep despite giving him time to move away.

Fresh fish cooked to order nice choices

Ordered from just eat food wise one of the best take outs I've had and my little bun in the oven agrees. Only down fall is I ordered 2 cans a coke but only got one.

Fantastic food quality served up in fairly hasty fashion and well-mannered, friendly and polite staff who work hard to create a positive atmosphere make Pentrebane Kebab House one of my favourite places to go if I'm not in the mood for cooking! Great portion sizes at affordable prices and what's best is due to cleanliness of the store and staff you won't be left with a dodgy stomach the next day - unlike a few other places in the local area. Furthermore, if you're tempted to pop in make sure to try some chicken which is always well-cooked and seasoned to perfection - probably up there with the best Cardiff has to offer!

Service quite slow and chips not that nice

I've lived in this area most of my life and have been eating fish and chips from Pentrebane since 1968 and I have to say this one is the best, great food a very good selection and better portions than any chip shop around this area! Thank you! 👍
