The best Chinese restaurant in Cardiff. Just celebrated my birthday there. Absolutely great value for money.

The dim sum is delicious and comes with chrysanthemum Pu'er tea😋

Great Chinese restaurant in Cardiff if not possibly the best one of its size. The food is usually pretty good although a little pricey. The service is nearly always great with friendly waitresses. I usually choose a Chinese restaurant that has a lot of Chinese patrons and I have to say that there are usually large bookings there and I can see why. They supply food to the casino attached too. All in all I am usually pleased when the suggestion to eat there comes up!

I have lived in Kadi for decades and haven’t gone to Good World for tea for a long time. In September this year, I went to have morning tea at the invitation of a friend. The snacks this time were better than last time. They have two special-priced Sunday desserts for only 3 Order 8 pounds, - (Eight Treasures Black Glutinous Rice) is sweet but not greasy, very soft and glutinous. = (Baked Pork Meal Bun) Soft and juicy. The mala cake is very soft and tastes great when stir-fried in the kitchen. Checkout for 4 people is £52, 10% discount The price is reasonable and the product is very good. Parking is easy. Straightforwardly recommended.

Haven't been here for a while, was in the area so popped in for dim sum. Under New management I think. Lucky we were early as it was busy and queuing by the time we left. Service was quick and efficient, Dim sum was pretty good, best I've had in Cardiff for some time. Bill was £30. Enjoyed it and will be back again.

It's really unpalatable! It's terrible! I want to tell others that Cantonese cuisine is really not like this, it's an insult to Cantonese cuisine!

Please bring out the kitchen to worship the gods. This level has been closed down for 80 times in Guangdong. Only the stupid foreigners in Kacun can bear it. If it weren't for the face of my compatriots, I would have scolded my mother. The only bright spot is the enthusiastic elder sister, absolutely Cantonese service

One of the best traditional Chinese restaurants in Cardiff. We had the roast pork and it is one of the softest roast pork's you'll try in Cardiff. 10/10 would go again.

The quicksand is filling and delicious, the Xingzhou fried rice is well cooked, and the cash is discounted.

Extremely busy on a Sunday. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had set menu c and the pork and Mustard greens hot pot. It was stunning. I loved every mouthful. I recommend the jasmine tea as they refill it for free

Had a lovely meal here, the food was amazing and I’ve eaten at a lot of Chinese places. Reasonable prices especially for the portion sizes. Very nice atmosphere and the staff were lovely and friendly. Very clean place and lovely decor. Would definitely recommend

Many Dim Sum taste like they have been prepared and stored in a freezer and then reheated for people to eat.It tastes very bad, especially for those who like fresh dim sum.

Food was fine but overcharged for food I never got. Ordered through Hungry Panda, one item arrived but I was charged for multiple items. Refund for the items I didn’t get was rejected through the app and when I called for a refund no one there speaks English. Why do you operate a business in a country in which you don’t speak the language?

Very busy for dim sum, and took a while until we got served tea. Food was OK; the roast meat were nice, but disappointed with the Vietnamese spring rolls.

Recent new owners but food is still above average and best in Cardiff in my opinion.

Good place to have proper Chinese cuisine and the food was good. On the lunchtime I visited they were understaffed so service was slow because they were working hatdcat serving so many tables. Staff were still courteous and friendly despite being under a lot of pressure. Good value - lunch was £20 per head.

As far as Chinese Restaurants go this is a Proper Job. A warm welcome, not rushed, good service, lovely food at a reasonable price.

The best dim sum restaurant in Cardiff and there are 3 of them! I've even swapped over from always going to HG. RC never had the parking until they moved. From the tick sheet menu to the chili oil pot at the table. This is what Dim Sum is all about. The front of house staff are extremely friendly and attentive. Fully recommend.

Had a lovely family meal at Good World. Service has always been great and food that’s fitting with the service. Highly recommend the dim sum, but main dishes are just as good.

The worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had in my whole life. The chips were soggy and undercooked, half of the food was inedible and looked like it had been dragged out from the sea. The beef was the worst, with no vegetables at all in it, oil over spilling in it. Nearly threw up whilst eating it

Great Chinese restaurant. You can ask for the Western or Chinese menu. So many good options available! We went for the golden sands prawns (amongst other things). They were sublime. Drinks are reasonable and portion sizes are large.

What an incredible night out with Chinese friends! They knew exactly what to order and pre ordered lobster and crab which o would never thought of doing!

Tremendously tasty and authentic food - have been here multiple times for dim sum and then recently for dinner and everything is delicious. It's very hard to find authentic Chinese in Wales and so people should definitely know about and frequent this spot. Very pleasant service too and of course simple parking.

First visit, nice restaurant and yummy food. However, it is very hot inside the restaurant and seems like no air conditioning. We all keep sweating while eating.

Almost exactly what you want from a dim sum (they do other stuff) restaurant. Some of the dishes had a slight twist (the custard baos had a pink filling) but you'd have to be a pretentious dim sum goer to turn them down. In a retail park so plenty of parking.

I'm always told if you find Chinese people eating at a Chinese restaurant then the food is authentic. The food here is lovely- hot, fresh and tasty. We tried the mixed appetisers and duck and a few dishes with rice. The potions are very generous. Everything we ate was lovely. The service was good and the atmosphere was ok too.

The food overall is good. The environment is rather traditional Chinese restaurants.

All the food I had was very tasty. I only recommend to people that have patience because Chinese food does not always turn up same time like a British restaurant. Other than that my family love their hot jasmine tea, it make us feel like we are home. Staff are very politely and treat us like family. We will for sure go back there again.

Delicious Dim Sum served during the daytime. Excellent Cheung Fun, meat croquettes, roast pork puffs, Prawn in crispy beancurd, scallop dumplings Loved the egg tarts, wish I'd have ordered more to take home Chinese tea was excellent and was constantly being refilled. Nice afternoon spent with friends and family yesterday. We have had popular dishes and dumplings. Delicious meals and very well presented! One of the dishes was really spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Not really enjoyed the rest of the flavours because of that but we should warn you about the spiciness as if you are not used to as weren’t than better no to order it. We mixed it up with rice my friend diluted with water- nothing helped so be careful about that! Delicious chrysanthemums 🍵 Recommend to come with someone that knows the dishes. No pictures for each dish to have an idea what it looks like. Translation in English for the dishes but still not enough to get the idea of what that will be. Beautiful location not very visible from the car but accessible. Recommend booking. We’re going back to taste even more.

The food itself tasted good. However there were much issues with the communication between the floor and kitchen. Two out of the four dishes we ordered arrived incorrect, Sichuan Dry Fried String Beans (干煸四季豆) came without the mince meat as described in the menu, Pi Pa Tofu turned into a completely different dish. We raised the issues with the staff, to their credit they acknowledged the issue and sent the food straight back to the kitchen, but the new dishes didn't come for another good 30 minutes, which at that time we couldn't enjoy the food as much since we've already finished the other two dishes.

Beat dim sum in cardiff! This is a hidden gem of a authentic Chinese restaurant. Very friendly staff. Great dim sum and extensive main menu. I would definitely recommend ordering the trio of bbq meats then order loads of dim sum. The roast duck is insanely good. This has to be the ultimate hangover cure.

I don’t usually take time to make reviews but after this evening’s experience, I felt compelled to wave a big red flag over this place. DO NOT COME HERE ! We drove from London to celebrate Chinese New Year with the family and was really looking forward to having a delicious CNY dinner together. (We were a big group so booked 3 tables). We had even pre-ordered, as requested by management as they obviously foresaw it would be a very busy service. Disappointingly, when we arrived at 7pm for our allocated slot, our table was not ready and was not ready until 30 minutes or so later. When we were finally seated, we had to chase twice for our drinks order - which was simply a pot of jasmine tea, jug of water, J20 and a beer. Nothing too complicated! I wish I could say things improved but sadly our evening got worse. While 1 of 3 of our tables received all their food (albeit they had to return one dish as there was a long black hair in it!), two of our tables were going hungry. I noted a table who came in after us were getting their food before us so the kitchen was obviously erratic and disorganised!. Meanwhile there was a growing queue of impatient diners waiting for their reserved tables, and at one point I heard the manager tell a table to leave so the table could be released! Back to us though… We chased on several occasions for our order but after 1 hour and 20 minutes of waiting, the hungriness turned to ‘hangriness’. We ended up leaving and eating at McDonald’s as it was getting too late to find an alternative last minute venue. What a disappointing CNY dinner ruined by the greediness of management who had obviously over booked themselves. If they had not squeezed in diners over such a short period of time, and had not relied on a skeleton crew of service staff, they would have coped and won over a big group of loyal customers. Rest assured, we will not be visiting again and cannot recommend.

The new best in town! There are only 3 noteworthy Chinese in town, namely, happy gathering, riverside and this new baby. The place is not entirely new, the previous restaurant was named "dragon court" if my memories served me right but now changed to Good World. In my opinion, this place is authentic mainlain chinese cuisine compared to the like of happy gathering which is more cantones (hongkong, maylasia or Guangdong inspired). Why is mainlain chinese cuisine any different from cantonese you may ask? For south east asian palate, it is certainly more suitable/tasty

Really tasty food. Went with my Chinese brother in law and he was pleased with the variety. We had mainly dim sum which was great and I had crispy noodles with king prawns and vegetables. Will definitely be my go to place for a Chinese meal. Nice airy atmosphere and great friendly service. Spotlessly clean toilets too. Access is up two flights of stairs and there is no lift. Plenty of parking outside as it's located in a large retail park.

UPDATE (October 2022): we came back for my birthday since it changed hands during the pandemic. They had pea shoots this time, and we had a squirrel fish and deep fried oysters as well as the inevitable pi pa tofu. This is the best in the area by far. I have dreams that feature pi pa tofu so it was fab to be at a place with it on the menu (although we were given the abbreviated westernised version, not the six-pager with the niche dishes on it that’s on their website). Also sadly no dau miu. But we were very satisfied!

Food was delivered so quickly I think it may have been precooked. Was not the best quality.

Recent meal on a Sunday lunchtime with family.Great food and service but we all received parking fines of £90 for staying 3hrs 20 mins.Restaurant should alert customers as this will influence any future visits.

Think they are closed down for good as no one answers the phone anymore. Well...no surprise as the service and the food quality gone down. (Think it is because of the change of the original chef and the change of the desk management) The old woman was in charge instead of the original guy. And that woman is a bit rude.

Admittedly, Dragon Court is probably the best place to get dim sum in Cardiff. However, having been coming here since it first opened, i can confidently say that the quality of food has massively gone down hill. Just not downhill enough for us to stop coming here, as there simply aren’t many good options in Cardiff. The staff are always very friendly and the atmosphere is very nice. The place has clean toilets and good parking available too. It’s just a disappointment about the food quality as they really did used to make some really good food! Now it’s nothing you couldn’t find at Global and make at home

In my opinion Cardiff's most upscale Chinese restaurant. Not only the decoration style, but also the quality of the food. There are not many waiters, but they are happy to provide advice to help you choose the right food. The head of staff is a very friendly person who always asks you what can I do for you?

Traditional style Chinese restaurant with plenty of options on the menu, better than most places I have been. Friendly staff. There is an elevator in the adjoining casino to take disabled and wheelchair users to get to the restaurant.

Food is excellent and very good value for money. Both the dim sum menu and the main offer a good choice and it never disappoints. It has a nice relaxed atmosphere, you would never guess from the outside and it's location. It's a little noisy but that's because everyone is enjoying themselves.

Awful. Just waiting for somebody to see us and bring a menu after quarter hour, waiting then for somebody to pick the order another quarter hour, waiting then for 35 minutes for the order. Eventually we just lefted.

Was told that the dim sum use to be good and seriously, where are the old chef? Presentation of chinese cuisine but lack the taste.

Quite literally the best dim sum and Cantonese cuisine that we have experienced in the UK, having lived in Hong Kong for over 30 years. Highly recommended. The staff are excellent and it is a pleasure to dine at this restaurant.
