Upper Crust in Cardiff

Great place to have breakfast or a snack before or after traveling. Very friendly and helpful staff, especially Sandy, the girl from Lima. Plus you can communicate in Spanish, a plus. I invite you to stop by there, you won't regret it. Platform 2 at Cardiff Central station.

Natasha and Diksha were incredibly helpful and lovely even at closing time when I visited last Saturday! Lovely staff!

Just had the worse "bacon" roll in my life. The "bacon" was virtually non existent and what was in there was more fat than bacon. £4.47 profit made on a roll that was £4.49... disgusting!

They were dealing with an unbelievably long queue on platform 1 and I messed up my order (I ordered a coffee but didn’t say it loud enough so it never arrived) and they were super understanding and sorted me out!! They’re always so nice even when there’s a huge rush :)

I don’t often write reviews but I’m writing to share my wonderful experience at Upper Crust on platform 1 at Cardiff Central. I was having a really bad morning with train cancellations and a phone out of battery. The staff at the upper crust went above and beyond to help me and cheer me up. I am very grateful for them. I want to thank Hannah, Sri and Silvia for their amazing service and the fantastic Flat white they made me. Thank you!

Over the last year I have seen the prices increase no less than 3 times, deals have been removed & I am now getting less and less Coffee for my money. The staff are happy to apply discounts if you work for Transport for Wales / Cardiff Train Station but other discount cards are not accepted. I suppose a captive audience can be manipulated in this example. What we need is a bit of competition, I would like to see a competitor set up on Platform 1 & 2 as a reminder to Upper Crust that they can only take advantage for so long before something breaks. If the coffee was OUTSTANDING then I would have no basis for this review, however it is not.

I purchased a baguette from the Cardiff central platform for my journey to Liverpool. When I was sat on the train and started to eat my food. I was disgusted when I came across an individual eyelash extension in my baguette. I couldn’t finish the rest or my baguette because I felt physically sick thinking about how many others I had eaten.

Liam. Was very helpful, very polite he went above and beyond to help me out. Nothing was to much trouble.

Really?!? In these times of contagion, did the Upper Crust management hear of HYGIENE? At their Cardiff Central train station kiosk, they sell baguettes that are totally exposed and uncovered! And no, I do not wish to eat baguettes lying unprotected under a counter over...

Waited 15 minutes for the server to work out how to use the till - clearly no training provided or faulty equipment. Was a queue until people worked out what was going on

Staff are very polite and friendly and it’s great having a cafe for when you have a longish wait for a train. But the decor is awful. Chairs are ripped and the room itself probably hasn’t seen a lick of paint in way too long....

Staff training need to make cappuccinos and latte they are nothing more than Luke warm milk no flavour whatsoever even with so called flavours added.

Train ended up getting cancelled meaning I had an hour wait in the cold so decided to treat myself to a hot chocolate. The man that served me was energetic and incredibly friendly plus my drink tasted awesome! Thank you!

Well the only thing I can say is coffee was ok. The chairs are a disgrace, people were leaving because of them. Tables and floor dirty. Considering at a busy train station and capital of Wales thought more of an effort would be made.

Upper Crust is what you expect of Upper Crust - except the utter ripoff charge of 50p extra for soya, coconut or almond milk! It's irrespective of size, just a punishment to deter people from choosing the dairy milk they prefer to provide!

This is not a pain au chocolat. This is some chocolate wrapped in the kind of dough used (I hazard a guess) for sausage rolls. Absolutely pathetic. If this is the correct dough, then the pastry needs to be properly finished in the oven. Unacceptable.

Before boarding your train, you can buy tea coffee cakes or filled rolls for your journey. All rolls are freshly made and a good deal for the money

I bought a baguette here before a long train journey home. I was served straight away by a friendly male member of staff. The baguette was delicious, if slightly overpriced. There was also plenty of seating available around the cafe.

Yo siempre comprar una relación calidad-precio baguette para comer en el tren, ya que es mucho mejor que los trenes de Arriva comida de Gales.

Actualmente sentado en Upper Crust. La comida era muy buena y el café con leche es fantástico. Hay un hombre tan encantador en el recibo (alto con una barba) que realmente se siente da una gran energía, cualquier cliente que sirve el tiempo contento o grosero él es realmente lo que le da su 100%.

Could the exorbitant profit made from my lagers be used by the company to repair the customer display on their till , so customers can see how much they are being charged , and also an industrusial cleaning company engaged to remove the grim around the skirting boards, and a general cleaning blitz to the rear seating area. (How is this not noticed by regional managers) Leaving the station, two staff members smoking ( they were following the dress code, they were in their uniforms), so I hope they washed their hands before making any baguettes. No good .
