Frankies in Cardiff

Ordered a Margarita Buffalo to go so cant comment on atmosphere but the pizza was delicious. The dough was soft and crunchy atbthe same time, and the toppings full of flavour. Will definitely recommend 👍🏻

The garlic bread was burnt no taste was really looking forward to it...

Great food overall. Pizza a bit over cooked / blackened base but still tasted great.

Great tasting food arrived piping hot.

Mains portions were small, and my wife even had to cook more pasta as there was hardly any in there. Dessert was nice and fudge cake was a good size portion. Delivery driver was great and communicated with me very well.

A fine local business. I got the 'Frankie's' pizza which was absolutely spot on. Good customer service, great food, just how local businesses should be and often are. Leagues and leagues and leagues above Domino's/Pizza Express for a similar price! Fully recommend

I randomly ordered this on Uber one day and have since ordered more than 20+ times . the brucheta … Divine. If I was a death row inmate this would almost definitely be my last meal. The delivery always takes forever but I can only imagine they are run off their feet with orders . Still arrives hot and worth the wait. 10/10 will order until I die

We ordered food - we waited two hours and nothing arrived! We rang four times to follow up and attitude was rude! Not again

I had a lasagne and salad ,the lasagne was delicious and the salad freshly made. The seasoning of the lasagne was perfect. I will order again soon

I visited Frankie’s in January as I had been told by a friend that it was a great place to order from. Well, from the moment I stepped in through the door it was already like they couldn’t be bothered and practically rolled their eyes at me when I started to order. It was like I had interrupted them from whatever was going on on their phone. I waited around half an hour for the food and when I got home, half of my order was either wrong or missing and the meat was significantly undercooked. The pasta was hard and our Rustica pizza had cherry tomatoes still on it even though I specifically asked for these to not be on there due to severe allergies; resulting in the pizza going in the bin. I will not be returning, there are plenty of great Italians in Cardiff and this certainly isn’t one of them. Don’t bother wasting your money: the service and the food isn’t worth it.

First time ordering from Frankies Italian, and am really impressed. The Mozerella sticks were crisp outside, soft inside and wonderfully warm despite a fairly long drive for the delivery driver. Spaghetti Carbonara was lovely and flavoursome, the garlic bread was fresh and tasty, and the Tiramisu was delicious. Generous portion, still warm by arrival of food, and even managed to be 5 minutes early! Da iawn!

So decided on pizza an decided to try Frankies . So we had the pollo chicken an mushroom a pepperoni one an one called piccante that had spicy beef chicken pepperoni fresh chillies , tomatoes an mozzarella . My son is a huge fan of pizza but only pepperoni and only gets from certain places due to his fussiness with the base , safe to say Frankies is added to his pizza place to go to . The other son had the piccante and that was a hit for him , he cant wait to try the lasagne now . Me I had the pollo and it was stunning love the base just the right amount of chewyness to it . Cant beat fresh pizza an this will definitely be our go to now .👌👌 we went in an ordered and waited for them couldnt beleive how fast it was also dare I say it faster than domino's . Give Frankies a go you won't be disappointed 😁

I found this little Italian restaurant by chance. Was waiting at the traffic lights and so that they were doing Vegan Pizza. We stopped and ordered a "chicken" and "Chorizo" pizza with Vegan cheese and some Began Garlic bread It was really good 🙂 Will definitely go back

Only half the pizza slices had toppings on. The bruscetta is now only one slice instead of two. On the plus side, there is less chilli in the sweet chilli sauce (I like it mild). Overall not worth the price anymore.

Love Frankie's pizza but this time the garlic bread was burnt and hard we couldn't eat it. Will still order again and hopefully be luckier next time.

Arrived early which is good. Food was pretty average for the price, garlic bread was poor, cheesecake was frozen solid.

It’s not often I come on here to write reviews, but frankies surely deserved it. There are some bad reviews on here but during my experience, none of these were true. The owner Mr G was the nicest Italian man. He was chirpy and had a lovely chit chat with me. Despite the current covid pandemic, we managed to get a table inside. All the staff had masks on and there were bottles of hand sanitiser on all the tables. Frankies is just a small little shop but it shouldn’t be underestimated. Me and my wife had a meal for two for just 21 pounds. It included 2 pizzas of your choice, garlic bread and two soft drinks. It was a true bargain. It fed us both and we still had some leftovers. I had the margarita and it was delicious, plenty of cheese and tomato, dough which was cooked to perfection. It truly was an authentic Italian pizza. My Wife had the frankies which had spinach and Parma ham. It was loaded with toppings. The table was nice and warm and was very cozy to stay in.

Just eat gave a long delivery time but it came early hot and fresh. Delicious 👌

My partner really enjoyed her meatball pasta and said she would definitely order it again, the only thing she said was the portion wasn’t big enough and could off done with a bit more but she really enjoyed. The calzone was extremely greasy, so greasy the grease leaked through the box and ruined a £100 jumper Shame tho because the bread was beautiful on the calzone just WAY too much grease

Phwoar! That's a mighty pizza.

Pizza undercooked and was slime on a plate, took one mouthful and threw it away. Lasagne was covered in a layer of grease. Chips were nice

The food was nice but our Sprite and OJ were out of date by by a few months, which is worrying. We didn’t notice until we’d eaten most of the food so I just hope the food wasn’t out of date as well. Please check the shelf life of your products.

Usually amazing food so really disappointed as the food is not cheap, the spag bol x2 were plain no taste hardly any sauce so rather dry, and the chips were all like bullets, rock hard, garlic bread overly burnt, pizza was okay but so disappointed as the food is normally amazing from here , I pre ordered the food at 11am ready for Friday night treat supposed to come 6-30 arrived 650 not happy ,will leave a while before I order again £60 for food which really was nt value for money on this occasion, sooty to leave not a hood review

Enjoyed a few orders from here in the past and even recommended to friends but this is the last time. Not because of the food but because of the customer service and the way I was spoken to. I ordered the food at 20:29. The food arrived at 22:03. I called the restaurant at 22:00 to explain that I was disappointed at the delay and that I didn’t want to leave a bad review but instead provide feedback so they could improve. The response was that they were busy and the food couldn’t be “flown to me”. I was told that if I wanted to leave bad feedback then do it.l as they didn’t care. Really taken aback and disappointed at the reaction. The food took over an hour and a half to arrive and I did the right thing by calling. The response shows a lack of customer care. Oh, and the food arrived cool.

We often have Friday night takeaway from Frankie's and it is our favourite pizza in town. Great range of toppings, lovely authentic base. Mozzarella sticks lovely, chicken strips can be variable. They do great chips. It's not the easiest place to collect from- you need to park in one of the side streets and walk there because it is on a busy junction. Doesn't put us off. Service can be a bit slow, but food piping hot. Some reviewers on here have complained about customer service when things go wrong, but in fairness, we've never had an order go wrong, so can't comment.

Still one of the best authentic pizzas in Cardiff. Quality ingredients, fresh thin dough, what else do you need? Thank you again.

Disappointing. The food here is very variable. This time all I could taste was pepper. Probably to try and hide the fact that there was no bacon in it.

Tiramisu was still frozen solid on delivery, but it was tasty enough to pass.

Ordered a Cotto & Funghi pizza and received one topped with only mushrooms, no explantions given nor complements to make up for it. The evening was coronated by this one delivery guy who sat in his car for five minutes before it finally occurred to him that he could ring the doorbell to make a delivery, then proceeded to whine about how he had to sit in his car! Give him a raise.
