Perfect place to stay - close to the town center & station. Ideal for business or pleasure and reasonably priced.

I knew this hotel since 2016, today I appreciate the improvement and especially the hotel darkness colour is disappearing. The refurbishment ongoing is very good and the room more and more comfortable. Hope they change the carpet and doors with other colours. After 16 years with my job over 65 countries i can say All you are 8n the way to be the best hotel in UK quality and price.

1) Alicia at check-in was so friendly and helpful. 2) Room was nice and spacious but was also a little cold. 3) Bed was comfy and shower was good 4) Great location, close to station.

The staff at the hotel were very welcoming, friendly and efficient. They couldn't do enough for us. Our room was light and airy and well equipped. The shower was excellent. There was a good choice in the restaurant and the dinner was delicious. The atmosphere in the bar was great Breakfast was good quality although I don't like buffet breakfasts. There was plenty of choice for cereals. There was also a continental spread. I was especially impressed by the vegan options. Not something I have encountered often. The location was very central to our needs. The station was only 5 minutes walk away. There was a nice walk along the river. Both of us really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back

The hotel was comfortable, quiet, great bed and great intro price. The thing which lets it down is the limited parking. Not much they can do about it but you need to be prepared.

A very affordable and comfortable hotel

They charge £10 a night for parking which is in the small print (what a joke). We have a small support dog to help with my partner's anxiety and they charged us an extra £20 stating "additional cleaning costs" even though the breed doesn't shed and is extremely well trained (as you would expect). So a £60 stay on Booking.com ended up costing us £90 and we could have stayed somewhere much nicer for that money. Very disappointed and will never stay here again. Taking advantage of people with working dogs after saying the hotel is pet friendly is disgusting.

The Ipswich B&B was a real home from home while I looked for a property of my own back in the UK. I didn't expect it to take a little over two months! As I accumulated the detritus needed to set up my new home, my room became rather more like university accommodation than a hotel bedroom! I shall miss having a lady coming in to clean my room in the morning and replace my linen and towels every day or two. How will I manage without someone always being on hand to receive my parcels and letters? As for my lovely e-bike which will no longer have luxurious indoor accommodation, nor a maintenance Jamie to help out when this technically incompetent 71 year-old needs technical support. But all good things must come to an end and I must confess I won't miss hearing the guests next door through the appallingly ineffective interconnecting doors or the bin men and glass recycling lorry in the middle of the night! Thankyou to all the team. I will miss you all.

Excellent value for money. Warm comfortable room very clean . Staff attentive & helpful. Breakfast was well worth the money full English and fresh fruits pastries. Will definitely be coming back thank you .

My short stay at this B&B was the single worst experience I've ever had in a hotel. First impression upon entering the lobby of the hotel: dark and dingy. The check-in desk is literally AT THE BAR. I've never seen this before. Not a family friendly place by any means. Also a very strong odour of cologne pervades the lobby and downstairs area. My room was basic but sufficient, and although "no smoking" signs were posted the place reeked of cigarettes. The bathroom sink drain smelled, though in Ipswich early February this isn't unusual. The biggest problem was that, as an allergy sufferer the bedsheets smelled VERY STRONGLY of washing powder. I could not sleep and after a few hours in bed my eyes and nostrils were burning. I ended up having to leave the hotel around 2:00am. After multiple attempts to obtain a refund from the guest services manager I have had to just eat the cost. DO NOT STAY HERE!

If I could give 0 stars I would! Do not stay here unless you want to lay in sheets that stink so bad of cheap detergent that your nose burns! Had to leave in the middle of the night and have been refused a refund!!!

I was only there for one night, but for value and service it was excellent. In particular Hannah was a delight each time I needed some help or local advice. I would certainly stay there again and recommend to other friends and family. Thanks!

Excellently located for both the train station and Portman Road football ground. Very welcoming and comfortable. And a spacious and well-appointed bar/restaurant which doesn't shut-up-shop at 11pm! Any football fan planning a stay-over in Ipswich should consider looking no further than the B&B Hotel.

Great location very near the station, not far from the town centre and close to the football ground. Big hotel, welcoming friendly staff. Nice room. Spacious and clean. Very nice bathroom. The bed was fairly comfortable, not great but above average, not too bad. Amazing continental breakfast. Overall, decent value.

This was our 3rd time staying here, good location with its own car park. The staff are all lovely and extremely helpful. The decor down by the bar is very homely and comfortable.

I stayed here for nearly two weeks. It's a great hotel for the price. The pictures on booking.com don't do it justice. Big clean rooms, the staff are very helpful, and has a gym on the 1st floor would 100% book again

Currently at B&B Hotel - and other reviews have summed it up - the pictures do not do it justice and the service and staff are truly excellent. Just had a Lemon Chicken dinner and expected the usual bland pre-cooked plate of food, but this was really tasty and worthy of a dedicated restaurant. It’s nice in these troubled times to be able to praise an underrated establishment that exceeds expectations - and this does! Highly recommended for the price, location, staff, food and level of service! 😄

Stayed here a few times, always friendly staff, clean rooms. Would recommend.

My only problem with this place is that you have to pay to park your car which works out quite expensive

Nice hotel in a nutshell. The room is big and quite adequate to work also. However, the room was a bit noisy. Specifically the air con was making loud noises. The breakfast was amazing. The overall stay was good.

It was better while there was PENTA HOTEL. Now I don't know if I will visit here again. 10£ for those staying at the parking lot.

Arrived at hotel in a state of distress after just receiving news of my father-in-law being admitted to hospital. We were very fortunate to be met by a delightful young lady (Jamie) who showed us the utmost kindness and was completely compassionate to our situation. She made sure we had everything we needed and were settled so we could deal with the stressful situation in hand. All aspects of our stay were great including breakfast which was an amazing spread especially considering we arrived near the end of service. The lady in charge of breakfast did an amazing job. Before leaving, we spoke to the manager about what great staff he had and how well they had looked after us and he was equally nice.

The service as soon as I walked in from Jamie, Hannah & Alicia was welcoming and warm. Great price for the room and location.

Top service, courteous staff. Well maintained rooms, feels bit cozy but enough for single person.

Visited this location a few years ago, and the service has significantly improved. Staff seem to be more happy and eager to assist. Previously there were issues encountered. I had no issues during my visit this time, the staff were all happy to help, and the atmosphere was very good. Only slight improvement is shower pressure and heat, but otherwise all was very good.

Would definitely use this hotel again was definitely worth the money

As it’s right near the station, it was perfect for me to get an extra hour in bed! As I’m normally on the move in the early hours. Thank you for a wonderful night……

I've always been to this hotel.

Room clean and modern.... Good value for the price. Other areas of the hotel tho are dusty, dated and in need of a revamp. Service from staff Ok, not rude but looked misable. Breakfast was a total disappointment.... English breakfast over cooked and rubbery. 😔

Within a 10 mins walk of the Train station. Close to the town centre, near to the water front if that one of your go to places to relax.

What a fantastic hotel, the staff are friendly and attentive. Location is perfect as very central and everything within a 20 minute walk if your feeling fit and healthy. Definitely worth a visit as decor is quirky and the atmosphere sooo relaxing. A special mention goes out to Aaron who made our stay .The king of customer service a credit to the business. See you guy's again soon.

Nice room decor, clean and comfortable room, good facilities. But the shower room could be better designed as water kept wetting the floor during and after shower. Nice breakfast. Parking is limited and it's a long walk to the alternative car park.

Excellent hotel, really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and eager to help and/or resolve any issues. Value for money 💰 definitely recommend it. The gym is really small, so don't get too excited 😆

Nice hotel, friendly staff. There is paid parking (£10), but it is small. If you leave during the day, there may be no availability in the evening.

Nice clean room. Bar, with games to play.

The room is not bad, breakfast has many choices, leakages at the shower, strange shower tub. Sports gym, pool table, darts available.

We had a unique experience at this hotel, due to the games room idea in the bar area. There is clearly a family friendly outlook. Even though we travelled as a group of four adults, we liked this vibe. We also felt that the hotel is working well to adopt an eco-friendly approach, which we found refreshing.

We really enjoyed our one night stay with breakfast. The car park could be bigger and cheaper so gave 4* for location

Room is tired, carpets a bit grotty etc could do with a facelift. Shared area in the lobby is nice etc and staff friendly

Near to train station, less than 10 min walk, Room good shame about food and drink, go out to eat!! Evening meal dreadful, worst steak I have ever had and at £32!! drink costs extortionate!!
