Friends booked for dinner the greeting we had was if we were a nuisance, my friends had been before I hadn’t but they said how run down everything looked , not that clean either , poor service from the start . Cutlery dirty we had to clean ourselves, the meal tbh not worth the price . Won’t be going back

I attended a course in one of the conference rooms, which was excellent. The service for the conference itself was great. There was tea, coffee, water and stationary to hand. The room was well sent up and they worked smoothly with the course providers. The course was 2 days so I stayed 2 nights. On arrival the reception and bar area was busy, the check in staff were efficient but initially tried to put me in a twin room after booking a double, but were able to sort my booking by putting me on the 1st floor. The room it’s self was fine; enough space, reasonably clean, tea & coffee and pump use toiletries. The bed and pillows were a bit hard, but it was nice to have air-con and windows that open. The room was a bit tired, marks the wall and carpet and the TV was a bit temperamental (but it wasn’t a huge problem as I had my laptop). There was good free wifi and they offer a friends scheme that is free and gives you 10% off food/drink, special booking rates and a early check in/late check out. The shower tiles were loose and I could see the water had been storing up that was trapped underneath, this will eventually cause a big problem. There were a few stains on the bed that was a bit off putting, but the bedding itself was clean. On arrival at about 8pm wanted to get some food, but the bar was busy and the staff were overwhelmed, no one took any notice of me for about 10mins, so I decided to walk into the town to find some food instead. The breakfast was about £14 pre-booked or £18 on the morning, but there is a Harvester down the road that is cheaper and does about the same quality. On check out the staff were friendly, but despite having a ‘friends’ membership and being told I could check out at 2pm (just after my course was due to finish) I was asked to leave by 12 if possible, a but annoying as I then had to get my bags in a break and bring them to the conference room. All in all I think you get what you pay for, it wasn’t an expensive hotel and the staff were trying hard.

Here for work and after a 10 hour day looked forward to relaxing with a cup of tea. Dissatisfied that my room was not serviced. Bed not made, bin not emptied (had a takeaway the night before so u can imagine the aroma) no tea, sugar or milk! Was told that as I was only staying two nights meant my room was not attended too....what utter tripe! Other hotels can manage and is it not a natural expectation to have the bed made ? Struggled to see the value for money. So made my own bed after grabbing some sugar and milk from reception. Had to ask for the tea...that was behind the bar out of reach! Settled down to watch a temperamental TV of limited channels....gave up and went for a walk...noticed the plastic on the door mechanism was broken and slightly hazardous...so all in all, for me a disappointing experience and i will not be using this chain ever again.

Great hotel, good secure subsidised parking for guests. Great staff and service. Good food and the bar open till late. When the booking was made I requested two beds, this was taken care of without any fuss. The room I was given was possible for a disabled person as there were red cord pull strings all over the bathroom and aids to help a person get up or down. This wasn’t a show stopper at all but just goes to show they cater for everyone I’ve stayed at Penta hotels before and recommend them.

As soon as we entered we were greeted and shown our table, we ordered our food and it came within a timely manner. We were served by Bianca who was really lovely! She was great with the kids, she was attentive and made sure we were looked after. It’s probs been one of the best experiences I’ve had at Nando’s.

Ordered a beef curry which was part of a "specials deal" what I got certainly wasn't a beef curry, since when do you get beansprouts and grated carrot, amongst other strange things in a Chinese curry?,safe to say it went in the bin, nothing short of disgusting,I used to use this place quite regular, but never again
