After seeing The Yellow Submarine we crossed over the road to the rather inviting-looking chippy. We ordered our food & we were about to leave with it when the very nice lady behind the counter asked if we’d like to sit & eat it at a small table instead of going in the park. We were delighted. The food was just right: a good price & not too much for us (like some places). Cups of tea only £1 a cup to wash it down too. We had a lovely chat with her when we’d eaten & she even gave us some samples of her homemade food to take away for later. Next time we’re in Liverpool we’ll be sure to call by again 😊

Can I just say before I go into the review that the lady who served us was lovely! However, as for the food that is a different story… the salt and pepper ‘frozen oven’ chips had a horrible burnt coating and the mushy peas were definitely out of a tin. We were very much looking forward to our Saturday take away but unfortunately we’ve thrown it in the bin.

Worst fish and chips i’ve had in a long long time. Fish was like mush and am certain it wasn’t cod. The chips were over cooked and covered in grease. Feel ill after eating it and have been absolutely robbed of £20. Place needs to be shut down.

Friendliest run chippy I've ever been to. Real part of the community. Have to particularly recommend the pancake rolls and special fried rice. Lucy, the owner, always has a kind word and is loved by her many regulars. Pristine and clean, food is fresh and cooked to order.

Travel across the Atlantic to see Penny Lane, discovered this little fish and chips store, fish is fresh, good portion for this price, service was excellent.

I drive 3 mile, pass several chippies for this food. Lovely Cod, cooked fresh in front of you. Noodles, curry, burgers, just everything this very pleasant lady makes is soo nice and cheap as chips, pardon the punn. Friendly Food always served with a smile. Thank you for helping your customers stay within the social distancing guidelines with 1 customer at a time entering and ordering and ordering over the phone for collection. Lovely overall experience.

Lucy is phenominally friendly and always has a smile to greet you. The food here is fantastic and I can quite happily say that the Manchester Pudding is definately DELICIOUS. Very disappointed. Our chips had been sitting in a heating tray and had clearly already been cooked. These were then chucked back in the fryer for another 10 minutes. By the time they come out they were dreadful. I had a chicken curry with rice which was bland, grey and looked like something you'd find in a can of winalot. The chicken was rock hard and had clearly been blasted to death prior to making it's way into my curry. My wife had salt and pepper chips with a similar experience - overcooked, powdery and bland. After two mouthfuls we gave up. A real shame. We won't be returning.

I visited the shop last week on a nostalgia trip to Liverpool. I had a nice chat with the proprietress - her mum and dad ran the shop when I was last there (in 1975!). A true family business. I liked the shop in 1975 and I'm pleased to report that the salt and pepper chips I had last week are simply the best.

Great value for money, a lot of food for the price. I wasn't impressed with the quality though, the chips didn't feel like 'proper chippy chips', but rather oven chips. The sausages were similar to oven type sausages rather than the savloys you normally would find.

Woman very nice. Food awful chicken nuggets where chicken tenders deep fried over cooked. Chips where oven chips not to bad but not chippy chips. Salt and pepper wings where tiny and over cooked. Sausage was tiny. Chop suey roll was nice for when your hungover but to greasy. Wish i would of took pictures. Prices vary from the price list
