Pendulum Bar and Grill in Renfrewshire

Ordered the prawn starter (bland sauce and bouncy over cooked prawns) and lamb main course and it was completely inedible, overcooked and dry. Waitress was sympathetic and offered £4 off my bill!!!! Was in a rush so paid and left Contacted manager Stef the next day, he agreed a full refund for the main course should of been offered (so £20) and promised to do asap. 3 weeks and 5 emails later I still don't have my refund even though he has promised to do it every time. Avoid

First visit for lunch. Very good experience. Staff were excellent, and the food was very good. Overall, it was a very nice lunch.we will definitely return.

Meal not great had steak, supplement charges a rip off ,good drinks,staff very attentive just overpriced for the standard of food. Probably won't hurry back,it's a shame as could be great !

Starter was great,main was OK and sundae was the smallest I've ever seen. Plenty staff on show, but wait for drinks,food could have been better.

Been a couple of times with family and always found the found to be bang average. Side note, the young waitress with the long dark hair and glasses needs to sort her attitude out. If you can’t be arsed dealing with the public, perhaps hospitality is not the vocation for you

We had the two course lunch for £16:95. My Mum opted for a main course and dessert, and I opted for a starter and a main course. My starter was the haggis fritters in beer batter with a wholegrain mustard mayo dip. The fritters were crispy, with a deep golden batter, and very tasty. I could happily have had them as a main course with chips. My main course was Mac 'n' Cheese with skinny fries, again very tasty and a good sized portion. My Mum had the Pendulum signature salad, consisting of chargrilled chicken, Stornoway black pudding, bacon and croutons. It was a bog portion, and she really enjoyed it. My Mum's dessert was the Caledonian sundae. This was vanilla ice cream with homemade tablet and hot caramel sauce. She said it was excellent. We would definitely eat here again if we visit Paisley.

They always serve a great Scottish breakfast in here, good quality ingredients and portion size. Nothing is greasy and the staff are very friendly and helpful. A great place to take the family and have a relaxed Saturday breakfast.

I had prawn cocktail. They were so delicious and beautifully made. The steak piefor the mains was not so good. It was meaty but the gravy ddnt taste nice. Staff was so friendly and helpful.

thoroughly enjoyed my meal here with family. I had the burger with the haggis and it was incredible. chicken for appetizer was also 5 star. peppercorn sauce with burger was not very thick which was the only downside. overall good experience and will be back

Nice friendly bar which is a good place to dine when visiting Paisley it is situated opposite Paisley Abbey the venue is varied which cater for everyone the meals are delicious and well presented with friendly staff.

We have choose Pendulum for our Wedding dinner and everything went well and smooth. Manager and Staff was on point and made us and our guest very comfortable and filled up all our needs. Food was delicious and we will be back. Thank you Mr.&Mrs. Brackenridge

Went with family visiting from England. There was 10 of us and our table was in the private dining area. We honestly can't fault a thing-food,drink and friendly service made for a great night!! We were looked after so well and the staff were extremely attentive. Look forward to our next visit!!

I'm very disappointed today. Will never come again. Different staff today wearing angry faces, the lentil soup was horrible, watery and cold. The main meal : they counted a few oily burnt chips, and the fish and the mashed peas were disgusting! A good way of chasing away customers !

We went there with really high hopes, but as the first course came on the table, the hopes were shattered. Second course was even worse than the first one. The price of food is outrageous compared to the quality. I highly disapprove and recommend not to come here. Go to Genova instead.

My wife and I have been coming here for years, we were meeting with family who had never been before but we had hyped up how good Pendulum was and that we would take them there. This visit was such a departure from how good this restaurant has been in the past. We were left for hours without any attention from the staff, no one came up to ask us if we wanted anything else to drink, but they kept looking at our table. A couple of occasions I had to go get a member of staff to come and serve us. We would've easily spent a lot more money than we did as this was a dinner we had really looked forward to but this was such a bad impression on the people we recommended this to. We waited so long that we had to actually go up and ask for the bill then no one came back to our table to actually take the payment so we had to go up to the bar to pay. I'm hesitant to return.

Staff rude. Grunted at us, kept waiting when place empty. Disgusting how we were treated. Had to leave without ordering!

A group of friends we were going to a wedding in Paisley town hall. The welcome from staff was lovely and very welcoming. The surroundings are lovely and very spacious. We all had a beautiful meal and attention to detail was nice. Will hopefully return and will recommend to family and friends. Thanks again

Came highly recommended and definitely didn’t disappoint. Very tasty food, the Mac and Cheese up there with the best I’ve had Pleasant surroundings and excellent service One little criticism and I’ve noticed it in a few places recently, can’t leave a tip if you’re paying by card ….luckily we had money on us but we are moving to a cashless society

Had my 65th birthday meal there last night with family and friends. The food was delicious. The service fantastic.

No 5* as Highland prawn starter is tasteless Sticky toffee pudding wasn't great either. Bottom shelf wine at £28. Lovely place, been better time before this!

I visited with family mid week as they stay in Paisley and recommended this as their favourite establishment in the area. Food was lovely, and the waiting staff were super nice! There was a really nice atmosphere and it was quite busy for being mid week. Would definitely recommend and will return - the balmoral chicken is 10/10!!!!

Decent food but overpriced. The choice of beverages was good but the wines again far too expensive. The venue offers nice views of Paisley Abbey. If you’re stuck in Paisley it’s a place you could consider but don’t drive all the way there because you’ll be disappointed.

A first time visit to Pendulum bar and grill. Enjoyed a very good lunch with grandson after his graduation ceremony Friendly and efficient service throughout. Food was nicely presented, hot and tasty. Relaxed atmosphere, would certainly visit again and happily recommended to others.

Was OK, nothing to write home about. Mostly, tasty enough, burgers well overdone.

Very disappointing meal . Have visited Pendulum several times and always had lovely meal however dinner was very poor . Starter was dry and bland most likely frozen Yorkshire puddings with unseasoned brisket and watery gravy. Main of traditional steak pie was horrible with uncooked pastry cold lumpy mash and pathetic veg . Presentation was awful as was taste . Servers were lovely and did try to offer replacement meal but having sent back meal once didn’t want to try again. Would not recommend evening menu at all and can only presume different chef .

Visited The Pendulum this evening and as usual couldn't fault it. The food,service and atmosphere is second to none. Would recommend anything on the menu as we all had something different. Special shout out to our server Morag who was so friendly

Was embarrassing, I got served lumpy mashed potatoes, carrots some soft and hard. Server carried bread in her actual hand to table, my food took 2minutes to come after ordering, so not freshly made. My juice took longer than food lol complained to manager.

Never disappoints. Food fresh, service excellent and great atmosphere. Entertained visitors recently from Edinburgh and, with over twenty to feed, nothing was too much bother. Meals on table within minutes of each other. Family delighted and it still never broke the bank. I’ve used this restaurant a number of times in the past and see no reason why I won’t use it in the future.

Went out for a meal to celebrate a friend's birthday, staff were brilliant, the food was excellent and easily accommodated one of our party requiring a gluten free menu it's a nice atmosphere and I love the decor. They even happily bought out a wee cake I'd bought for rose and sang happy birthday with us.

Lunch date with my friend we both would highly recommend it to family and friends food was lovely and the staff were friendly also great prices.

I visited Pendulum for the first time yesterday. My friend and I were rudely addressed by a young lady when we kindly asked for a table for two for lunch. We had a couple more interactions with this member of staff, and she once again was extremely rude. Despite this, I can say the food was really good (I had the salmon fillet), and the waitress who actually served us was lovely. She checked on us often and had a positive attitude. I have mixed feelings about coming back, and I think it is disappointing how one person working in a customer-facing role could be so unpleasant.

Brilliant breakfast. Very large portions, beautifully cooked and presented. We had Scottish breakfast that came with fruit juice, toast and tea/coffee. Great eat value for money. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Lovely dinner for a Birthday get together. Service was great, food was better.

Nice place to spend a few hours with a close view of Paisley's intriguing and powerful Abbey (see picture from different elevation) Scottish themed menu, a chance to try some old classics like Cullen Skink and Beef Olives should you want to. Great service and lively atmosphere, an 80th birthday party and a Baby Shower in progress while we were there on a Saturday afternoon. Recommend booking. Wander around the Paisley Abbey before or after eating a hearty lunch.

Surprised with the vibrancy of paisley's centre in light of recent times with covid etc . Lovely buildings and the pendulum didn't disappoint at all with atmosphere, service and quality of food.

Brunch catch up with retired ( and soon to be ) colleagues. Excellent location and easy to get to . Just watch the parking . Once again great service and very good breakfast food served how you request it . Love how juice and tea/coffee are included with the set menu deals . That should come as standard in my opinion. Have now been here on several occasions and not found any problems as per the negative reviews although it was a quiet day . Back again on Valentines Day so will update after a busy night

Very pleasant, and attentive staff. Restaurant surroundings were inviting, and background music was pitched just right to allow for a welcoming and relaxing environment. Food was good value for money. Overall, a very positive dining experience. I'd definitely recommend to others and be happy to return in the future to relive the relaxing dining experience.

Great service, friendly and courteous staff. Went out their way to make sure we were satisfied. Quick service and food hot on arrival. Food -Great taste, plenty of choice and generous portions.

Not the best. 3 of our 4 mains were cold. The plates were hotter than the food. Sent back and came back microwaved. Chicken Balmoral was so tough it was hard to cut and 1 dish was still cold. Not the usual experience we’ve had previously. Waiter did try to rectify but you can’t send food back twice for another blast in a microwave. Shame as lovely setting and staff nice

Menu gone downhill Had Chicken Skewers no pepper or onion plain tasteless bland Served with rice and a pitta bread sauce was salty Cullen skink Soup was watery with no fish 2 halves of new potatoes not peeled in it Again no vegetables and no fish I have been before to Pendulum many times I really enjoyed it but this has put me off returning Ice cream nice Service was moderate
