Penderel's Oak - JD Wetherspoon in Camden

A bit pricier than some Spoons but in my experience, well run and friendly. I left my jacket behind on one occasion and after only realising this when on the Tube, contacted the pub the next day. I was able to collect it a few days later, bagged and labelled. As to be expected, often crowded in the early evenings, but no more so than other places in Holborn or Bloomsbury. There usually seem to be a few ciders on tap as well as a reasonable range of ales.

I love the atmosphere, but can feel a bit intimidated if you are not a white person coz whetherspoon gives you a full English experience I think. Surrounded by white people and you feel like you are alone. But that is what I like about it.

Usual Weatherspoons experience. Decent and well priced beer with good pub grub quickly prepare and served. That'll do for me!

Pleasantly surprised! The place is incredible, we stumbled upon it by chance and loved the atmosphere of the place for breakfast: unlimited hot drinks. Great value for money. Nothing to complain about.

One of my favourite Wetherspoons in London.

The steak here is juicy and the fries (wings) are not dry, the best wetherspoon I found so far in central London.

Lovely spoons, very spacious and most of the time there’s space to sit. As a regular it’s like a second home.

Terrible food but free WiFi, clean toilets and unlimited coffee/tea refills for less than £2. We were hoping for a fresh breakfast, but the guacamole turned out to be ready-made from the store, and the salsa was not fresh, just the kind you can buy for dipping nachos.

Whilst visiting Central London we always visit Penderel's Oak for our breakfast. Last year and this year we found the staff very helpful, the pub and the toilets are kept so clean with all staff keeping everywhere tidy. The landlords are worth their weight in gold!

A good Wetherspoons. I had a party for 10 people to celebrate my birthday. They reserved a table for us. I wanted to start a tab but they wouldn't do that. Their alternative of buying a gift voucher that my friends and I could then use when buying drinks worked a treat. A goodctime was hadcby all !

This is mine and my wifes favourite pub, the service is wonderful all the staff are so helpful, a big shout out goes to Jan and Gerry the managers who always make you feel so welcome and always with with a smile, plus Steve who is outstanding. A big 10 stars to everyone

A good Wetherspoons pub, friendly staff

It's a 'spoons so what is there not to love. Food was nice, beer was good price. Very busy, but then it is London,and the business added to the ambience!

Not the best WS I have seen but is ok. Staff was polite and helpful, great prices as usual, massive outdoor area. No RQ code in tables to order, you need to go website or app and look for location.

Cheap beer and food .can be busy dinner times

A comfortable and spacious Wetherspoons, good for large groups. The food was well prepared and I would definitely have the chicken wings again, which were delicious and good value. The pizza was also good.

I don't usually go to central London, but this pub is huge. I'm very impressed and the service is fantastic. Keep up the good work guys and gals.

If there was minus stars i would do that. The management especially the horrible lady spoke to us rudely just because me and my girlfriend only got one drink as she doesn't drink she forced us to buy a softdrink or else asked us to leave the venue and yelled us in front of other customers. The place wasn't even busy and there was plenty of other tables free. She claims to be manager but her attitude towards us was rude and unprofessional in all aspects. Completely ridiculous behaviour.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a member of staff, no idea of her name Asian dirty blonde hair clearly woke up on the wrong side of bed, decided to shout at us due to their own staff delivering food to a table and not checking when ordered, Some staff need to go back and do a customer service course because clearly lack manors and class

This is one of my favourite London boozers! Fantastic location, beautifully restored interior, and it's a 'Spoons'........what more could you ask for!

Thank you for the service by you and your staff today, during the busy rush of lunch it was very hard to find a seat, but this was expected and I just waited patiently for a seat to become available. Staff were friendly even if they were busy, and the manager had 1 issue to deal with and it was very straightforward with the individual he had to remove. I have come here many times before for the army rugby matches and we always use this pub. Once again thank you for today in the horrible rain. Regards Gary

It is a Spoons not a great selection of cask in January

It was fine but there was a man literally stood up taking a wee under one of the higher dining tables, then he sat down and carried on drinking! I also ordered a side of 12 onion rings which didn’t arrive until I went to ask at the bar for them 30 mins after eating

Nice place in the center to have a few pints or a coffee (refillable). The food is not the best quality, but the price is cheap. Always discounts and the cheapest in the city. It is a large chain where in some places you even have hotels.

Outstanding. I was there for morning opening. I was welcomed like a lost child and went straight way towards the bar. Lovely.

I just asked a takeaway cup from the bar. She gave me the cup as she put her finger in the cup i just asked her kindly if she could give me new one without touching inside the cup. Afterwards she got crazy. She throwed the cup and bahave super rude. That is not acceptable in costumer service. Even it was her fault.

Wonderful place for a private party. We hired the downstairs cellar bar for a 60th. Service is first class. They really look after you and make you feel special. Highly recommend.

Slightly dearer than other Wetherspoons, but still a lot cheaper than other pubs in this location. There is plenty of room inside and a good choice of beers. Usual menu of food which is perfectly adequate. Prefer to use the app for service, which works very well. Good pub.

Good spoons, food is very cheap which is fantastic and you get great deals with food and drinks together. Food is ok, about what you’d expect for the price. Drinks are good and you can get some super cheap pints, as low as 2.49. The atmosphere is buzzing with a lot of chatter and no tvs so if you want to come and talk to your friends analogue / old school then come here. Also in this area there is not much in terms of going out, so I would recommend the Penderel’s Oak

Most expensive weatherspoon's (for drinks) I've ever visited and nothing special about the pub decor or location to justify the prices. They're are other pubs local to this part of Holborn that charge the same amount per pint and have far more/better atmosphere therefore there's no real reason to visit this other than for Spoon's cheap meals. Nothing particularly wrong with it, just a no thrills pub.

We went at lunch time when it was rather busy but yet they managed to get the food out rather quickly. The food is simple quick pub grub (I had a baked potato), which is great for when you are limited on time.

pizza was basic... could have bought a frozen pizza and cooked it myself. plus unprofessional staff. Better off going to The Shakespeare's Head which is 3 to 4 mins walking distance- you will have a much better experience there.

Got invited to my mates christmas works do, got in Panderel's oak early afternoon expecting to only have a couple. Wound up liking this pub so much I stayed until 2100 & I ended up having a meal here to. Absolutely brilliant all round pub

Cheap place for drinks or food near Farringdon Station

Super fast and very delices. Even the veggi Curry and the Pasta Alfredo. And very friendly service! And cheap. Every Dinner was perfekt there. Thanks!

Nice friendly staff and a great selection of beers

First visit to pub was a dreadful and embarrassing experience. The manager asked me to leave after having 1 drink,informing me that in his opinion " I gave off an odour". I was horrified and to make things even worse, he refused to give me his name. He was completely wrong and obviously just uses his petty powers to placate his ego. Suffice to say that I didn't smell! He seems to take an arbitrary dislike to certain people as is referenced in other posts.

Sensational. Brazilians who are in London and want a good place to eat, drink and have a drink. This is the place. Affordable prices. Breakfast here is also wonderful!!! It's totally worth it.

Wetherspoon has many restaurants, we tried two of them. Food is delicious, and you don't have to wait too long to get your meal. There is a qr code on each table, so you can send your order through their website. It is quicker in this way😊 The restaurant itself is cozy, I really liked the inside of it. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who visits London and searches for a good place and a good meal.

This is a decent pub and they have a good bottled cider. The pub lent itself well to a get together.

A long standing pub not far from the centre of London's law buildings, if you're going to commit any heinous crimes I'd recommend doing it far far away from here . Just behind the pub is Lincoln Inn fields which is London's largest square and home to the fascinating Sir John Soanes museum . So back to the pub, it's a typical wetherspoons interior with no redeeining architectural features . The cask ale list is usually fairly boring here and it's not much different with the draft beer either . I'd actually recommend taking a walk down to the Shakespeare's Head on Kingsway as they have a far superior selection of beers.

Menu and setting quite typical of English pubs, offering a simple menu with very attractive prices for London. The meal is of quite respectable quality and quantity, but I deplore the lack of a light option: there is a lot of fried food. I admit that I loved the fries, very crispy and extremely soft inside. A place very suitable for large groups with its large room and the possibility of adding tables. On the other hand, it is very noisy and the service is terrible. No server was friendly and the waitress who regularly attended to our table was particularly unpleasant. I nevertheless recommend this address for a quick and inexpensive meal in the city center.

Good Weatherspoons, generally well filled.

Staff seem uninterested no interaction with customers and had there been another option nearby would have gone there. Strange for a spoons as they normally have some good characters either side of the bar. Maybe I caught them on a bad day

I am a fan of Wetherspoons and this pub did not disappoint. It was busy for 4.30pm on a Thursday. They had a large cask beer selection with prices starting at a very cheap price of £2.79 for a Greene King beer. I opted for a double Jim Bean at a very good price of £6.67. They have a large food menu at reasonable prices, and whilst the food does not meet the standard of a good restaurant it is certainly value for money (and filling). The service was very good, fast and friendly. This is a nice pub that offers excellent value, your pounds will go far further here than any other pub in the area.

If in a moment of weakness they were to ask me about this place I would say that's it

Manager was rude. Extremely rude. Will dish out rude comments but won’t accept being called out for it. Black pudding was like an ice hockey puck.

Initially we went to Shakespeares Head about 7mins walk from this wetherspoon. However they didn't serve breakfast that day so we decided to try the other one and I'm so happy for that. This wetherspoon was much nicer, lighter, atmosphere was just far better. The lady behind the bar was friendly and polite, and although there were 3 people before us, we didn't wait more than 2mins. The food was tasty and we didn't wait long to get it either, we tried Freedom and Small breakfast.

I visited once and looking forward to more. Lovely big pub with lots of events, communities meeting around here. Spacious space with a garden and staff are great and helpful.

Burger was carelessly prepared and doesn't taste good. Drinking comes after the food has been eaten. The pizza tastes like a rubber band
