I am a fan of Wetherspoons and this pub did not disappoint. It was busy for 4.30pm on a Thursday. They had a large cask beer selection with prices starting at a very cheap price of £2.79 for a Greene King beer. I opted for a double Jim Bean at a very good price of £6.67. They have a large food menu at reasonable prices, and whilst the food does not meet the standard of a good restaurant it is certainly value for money (and filling). The service was very good, fast and friendly. This is a nice pub that offers excellent value, your pounds will go far further here than any other pub in the area.

If in a moment of weakness they were to ask me about this place I would say that's it

Manager was rude. Extremely rude. Will dish out rude comments but won’t accept being called out for it. Black pudding was like an ice hockey puck.

Best Wetherspoon at all Fast, clean and Nice staff. Food was delicious

Initially we went to Shakespeares Head about 7mins walk from this wetherspoon. However they didn't serve breakfast that day so we decided to try the other one and I'm so happy for that. This wetherspoon was much nicer, lighter, atmosphere was just far better. The lady behind the bar was friendly and polite, and although there were 3 people before us, we didn't wait more than 2mins. The food was tasty and we didn't wait long to get it either, we tried Freedom and Small breakfast.

I visited once and looking forward to more. Lovely big pub with lots of events, communities meeting around here. Spacious space with a garden and staff are great and helpful.

Burger was carelessly prepared and doesn't taste good. Drinking comes after the food has been eaten. The pizza tastes like a rubber band

Spacious and comfortable, along Holborn street. Good value for money, always taking into account the fact that we are in London. Very kind staff. Excellent solution for managing lunch and dinner in London

A delightful pub, even by spoons standards

Dropped in here while in Holborn at about 5pm not too busy good choice of beers and decent prices for London would recommend if in the area.

I personally like the Penderel Holborn where I go every week to have a couple of pints and a Pizza with a friend. There are really good offers, pizza is quite good and the venue is quite central and easy to find. Service unfortunately can’t be 5 star as one request was basically ignored last time I was there. Some quality and customer attention to be improved, sorry about this

Excellent pub. Our first time in London and found ourselves witless as our first day was during a bank holiday, and everything was closed, but Penderel's Oak was open. The food was outstanding, so much that we returned to dine here several times during our vacation, despite our plans to visit other famous pubs. Also, the toilet (at least the men's room) was impeccably clean.

First time there, as a permanent wheelchair user I found it easy to get in with the ramp at the front, the service was fast, the scampi and chips were OK the scampi was a tad hard but I was hungry and didn't complain, the toilets are radar key and are opposite the end of the bar. The staff were very good and had a smile on there faces even though it was a busy night.

Large but cozy place. We wanted to try traditional British food and that's what we received, maybe not the best but a 7/10, hence the 4*. Among the exorbitant and very expensive madness of London designed to milk the tourist, it was a discovery due to its fixed prices, including drinks, sauces and water to refill as much as you want (fresh). We didn't choose the best beer either but it's something that's beyond your control when you try new things. In short, I would return.

Extremely happy with the service, food and drinks and especially the prices. Given the location I thought they'd charge more.

The store in the chain has a calm atmosphere with the remnants of OLDBANK throughout the town. It's close to the British Museum, and there are seats inside the store, on the terrace, and in the basement. You can make a reservation, but it seems okay to ask directly. You can find lots of crafts, and the food to go with them is the classic fish and chips. Unlike Japanese cod, it's fried crispy and very delicious😋They also serve Wetherspoon vegan dishes at the nearby Africa House!

For a pub in the middle of a big city, it was a very friendly, welcoming, and clean place!

Only gave 4 for food because of personal preference, asked for steak well done and still a bit red inside.

Very 'comfortable' location for a meet up with colleagues and friends. Spacious and airy : congenial decor and ambience. Friendly and competent staff. Good selection of beers and food .. very reasonably priced for Central London. Generally not overwhelmingly busy before 16.30 on weekdays. Would I patronise again ? .. YES

We ordered two double gin tonics and they didn’t taste strong enough, I was going to complain but I didn’t, a double gin tonic it’s a double gin tonic, not water please, I should have ordered at the bar not in the table, it is not right, it didn’t taste of alcohol at all .

A chain pub in London. But the food is delicious and there's plenty of beer. If you order through the app, the food will be delivered to your table without cash. The best thing about it is that you can easily eat it in London, where living prices are high.

Good enough, but once the waiters/waitresses didn't deliver the free refill cup and I had to get it on my own. It used to be delivered every time I came to any Wetherspoons

A good Wetherspoons and a welcomed feed on a long walk across the city

First came here about twenty years ago. It hasn’t changed much but no real need to. Not one of Spoons’ more beautiful buildings but it is deceptively huge once you get inside. The Dow stairs cellar is equally unexpectedly large. There’s also an outside terrace section at the back. Service is good and I usually use the App. Food is Spoons food, so cheap but not overly cheerful. Atmosphere is usually good after work and tends to be busy. I’ve got warm memories of this pub so I’m fond of it. A good understated London pub.

The Fiesta Brunch was tasty - toast, poached egg, mushroom, halloumi and salsa. The egg was slightly overcooked. The pub has a large, attractive interior, very quiet at 11am. The staff were fine.

Use Wetherspoons frequently for breakfast. Often breakfast is good but not always as hot as I would like.The Penderels breakfast was excellent and piping hot.

A typical Wetherspoons pub on High Holborn. I called in looking for food on a Sunday afternoon, pre concert. Attentive staff and a reasonably quick service given that the place was very busy. I chose steak (medium rare) and chips; all was good. A pint of Green King IPA and the bill came to a touch over £16, not bad for central London.

It was a real pleasure coming here. Jan & her team were excellent. The pub was very clean & tidy and the food was excellent. Well done Jan!

Great Wetherspoons to meet multiple people for any occasion. In a very good location, as it is not very busy within or outside the pub. As it is a spoons, there are no complaints on pricing. The bathrooms are also really easy to locate, even after a few pints.

The pizza and the pasta dish were very tasty. Unfortunately the deep fryer was broken, which is why some dishes were not available. Ambience was fine. I can definitely recommend it 🙂

Really liked the oak branches decoration motif in here Edited to add: Having read that this particular branch of Wetherspoons is one of the many that are apparently being sold I made it a must visit on my trip to London today as I had such a good experience when I visited earlier in the year (which was on my birthday) and because it's such a good building with great decor. It will be a real shame to see it go if it does get sold. Was pleased to find this branch still open when out and about pounding the pavement between record shops on Record Store Day 2024. Had a lovely breakfast in there. Long may this branch continu as it's one of my favourites.

Really nice 'spoons with usual food and drink choices. Usually very busy even on a weekday due to its vicinity to local universities. There is a downstairs area which is sometimes open for overspill and a tiny outside area. The staff here are always lovely, and I find that unlike normal wetherspoons, the tables are kept kept clear of glasses and seem to be wiped between customers! Toilets are downstairs, which can be tricky after a few, but there is a disabled one upstairs for those that need it.

Woman with short hair was so disrespectful and rude not helpful didn’t get my entire order and because I didn’t have a receipt they couldn’t give me the other half they’ve robbed me. Not a great establishment burger was burnt and slow service un happy never returning.

Large pub of Wetherspoon with nice friendly personnel, with a waitress accepting to change an order 5 minutes later. Much appreciated. Freshly made large breakfast for 8 pounds. Coffee at 1,50 .... With free refills.

Curry beef was nice. Beef tender. Portion size was good for the price. Atmosphere great.

I had a fantastic 1/2 chicken with lemon and garlic. Was much more tasty than I was expecting. Highly recommend.

Large but cozy pub in Holborn London. Delicious food, wide choice of beers, excellent service that you (often) only see at the table to clear away or serve your order after you have ordered it via QR code. Nothing wrong with that, because it is fast and effective. Are there enough staff to help you?

From the outside you can not really tell the size. Very busy on a Friday night, thankfully the cellar bar open. There is a beer garden too. Friendly crowd and good quick service. Nice pub to have breakfast but tonight fish and chips.

We have frequented this Spoons on a number of occasions, most recently last week. Although pictures are from our visit in October 2023. Always very pleasant and clean. If you want to pop to another Spoons the Shakespeares Head is just around the corner..

A large Spoons in the heart of Holborn. Has some nice booth seats, a small courtyard and a cellar bar too. Been to this Spoons a few times now Food is the usual Spoons menu. We had the boneless chicken bites basket and a spicy meat feast pizza. My chicken was fine but, unfortunately, my husband's pizza was over cooked and very dry. But usually the food if fine.

Food portions are very small compared to my local Wetherspoon. Quite disappointed 😞
