Pen Y Bont Farm in Flintshire

We were there for a work event, and it was a great success. We were welcomed when we entered and taken to our table. Staff were polite and efficient. The meals were delicious, so will definitely be returning.

Decent service and lovely place. Food was seriously lacking. Been twice with the same result. Ordered the mixed grill first time and the meat was dry. Other people on the table said it was ok but mine has been awful. Staff were lovely though

I live in Stockport and I was picking my nieces up from school to take them out for tea! My brother in law recommended this place so I had a nosey at the website and saw it was dog friendly! 🐾 Perfect I don't have to leave my dogs at home alone for hours! The food was wonderful, plenty to choose from and the staff were so friendly and polite ☺️

Beautiful lunch time! We had drinks straight away from being sat down, food came promptly and was absolutely delicious! Staff are all really welcoming and friendly and we also enjoyed the live singer that was on this lunch time 🙂 thanks for a great afternoon, we will 100% be returning!

Friendly polite staff who also gave guidance on food when stuck between choices. Excellent food, the best Mac n cheese I've ever had out. Waited a little too long to order for my liking but the waiter was fantastic when he arrived.

From arrival to departure, the whole experience was fantastic. We were a party of 4 adults and 1 dog. We were seated in a lovely area with plenty of room. The dog treats were a lovely touch and our dog was especially grateful. Food and service were equally fantastic. The timings between menus and orders was spot on, everyone was extremely polite and helpful. Food portions were just right and excellent quality. We will definitely be back very soon.

Nice food enjoyed by all the family. The park is a nice distraction for kids. The two times I've been there I had the trio Sunday dinner.

Great food and lovely atmosphere

Very good service and the atmosphere was alright. Very busy Saturday lunchtime. The plant based burger was stone cold as were the sweet potato fries. Lacked any sort of taste. The price is ridiculous for what you're actually getting. I will say my Mum's chicken in Mushroom sauce special did look very good but Dad's fish and chips was overcooked to a crisp. If the kitchen is under that much pressure that they can't get the food out to a better standard then staffing levels. That said the ingredients are poor and poor value for money. Could easily find a much nicer meal elsewhere for a couple of quid more.

Good food, veggie kebabs were lovely. Chloe was an excellent waitress, friendly and happy to be there. It’s great to see waiting staff who are pleasant as this is not always the case in some other places, but Pen Y Bont always seems to have good staff

Pub was very clean and had a real warm feeling to the decor. Staff was very friendly on entry as we did not have a booking but they still managed to get us a table, food was amazing. We will definitely be back.

I knew something had changed as I didn't recognise any staff ! The food was far better than it has been , my only 2 concerns are there's still too much choice ( 2 menus) and they didn't have any chardonnay wine , meal was delicious for everyone , however I had to order an extra skewer of kebab and at that price I would of expected 2 xxx as I don't eat chips, better with a load of salad instead tbh.

My son wanted to come here for his birthday meal as we have been before and really enjoyed it. We all chose the steak which was done perfectly. The desserts were really tasty too and we left with full tummies! We like to come here for family special occasions as the food and ambience is spot on.

It was ok. The food was nice enough, and the puddings again was just ok. Service was fairly solid. the only issue I found was I had to go find someone to settle my bill. They have 30% off atm mains when you register online, which helps. Will go again.

Great service, would have given 5* for the food, but disappointed by the ribeye, cooked to my preference, medium to rare but too much grizzle that should have been trimmed.

Called into the pub FaceTime we’ve ever visited November 1 2024 Me and mywife had me there for the first time and I can honestly say it was absolutely beautiful. Had the classic burger And I had the buttermilk chicken burger garlic bread was to die for onion rings crispy just like I like them rephrase that we like them I would recommend the pub to anyone wanting to have food. Highly recommend the place and We will both be back for food,

Stopped off here recently for a spot of lunch. Food and service were spot on! the pub is huge inside and so nicely decorated with a warm friendly atmosphere.

We arrived early and our table wasn't ready. This was expected and absolutely fine! We were invited to sit at the bar and had a couple of hot drinks. The bar tender was friendly and said hello to our dog. We were then invited to a table. We were asked if we wanted drinks promptly and then asked for our food orders shortly after that. The food arrived quickly and was nice and hot. We were delighted with our experience and reflected that every time we have visited, everything has been great! Keep up the excellent work!

We were extremely impressed with the cocktails made by a lovely gentleman called Joe, very professional. All the staff are friendly and attentive at this venue. We visit on a regular basis due to the ambeounce.

Visited here on Sunday for a roast dinner with friends, beautiful experience. Food was lovely well prepared and well presented. All staff very friendly and helpful, menu had good selection and vegan options available.

Well that was a great dining experience. excellent staff, greta food with loads of vegan options, great value and portion sizes.

We came here to celebrate our first year together , and the restaurant was lovely , busy they had a family party going on at the time we arrived, food was lovely , service was great , despite a little mishap , but had a giggle about it ,only niggle should of asked for extra mushrooms , as only had half of a mushroom with the my steak , fully recommended , hopefully go again 😀

We've been here several times now and every time it's great! We are serially terrible at planning when we'll arrive and are usually early but the team are so welcoming and always do their utmost to seat us quickly if this situation arises! The food is always great, it's reasonably priced and to top it all off they are so dog friendly! Highly recommended whether local or passing by 😊

Greeted with a smile and a warm welcome! Shown to our table and given enough time to choose food and drinks. Even when Dad went to the bar instead of waiting, a server came to make sure he was ok and not to worry she would bring drinks over. Food was amazing, we both had fish and chips, absolutely delicious and so much of lo it. I was sorry to not be able to clear my plate! The fish was divine and the batter was so light, it was the best I’ve had in a long time. The chips were to die for as well! Atmosphere was lovely, Christmas songs but not too loud but also enjoyable. All staff were lovely and approachable. I’m sorry I couldn’t leave a tip, but I’m grateful for a lovely few hours with my Dad. Thank you to all the team.

Great meal in a lovely place, but what really stood out was the customer service, from walking through the door and throughout the meal, the service was spot on!! We drove from manchester to meet friends, so it was lovely to see a good selection of zero beers and even Heineken 0% on draught.

Quite quiet when we arrived, lunchtime rush over. Attentive staff, Thomas very polite. Went for the lunchtime special, fish goujons and chips. Food served hot, batter light and crunchy, fish excellent.

We go there regularly. The food and drink are superb and the service is excellent. We do visit other places, but they generally just remind us of how good Pen y Bont Farm really is.

My first visit on a recommendation from a friend. Lovely place. Great environment with friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff. The food was well presented but a bit of a let down. Chewy (felt like pre packed) chicken in a Caesar salad, mash that seemed overly processed and had powdery after taste, a tasty but rather economical serving of sauce on the belly pork and mash. For the cost I was not satisfied but am aware how Marston's corporate treat reviews and usually put the pressure back on their staff at the venue to correct corporate errors. This is unfair as the bits I am unhappy with would entirely be decisions made at the corporate management level. While the table service was a nice thing I do not like having a service charge added to my bill when it was not mentioned or advertised at the start. If the service is good I like to tip the staff personally so it is on top of their wages and not part of their pay. This alone would stop me choosing this venue again which is a shame as the staff were exceptional and the venue is lovely.

I came with my friend for lunch mid week. The service was awesome and very attentive. I ordered Hunters chicken and sweet potato fries and salad. The chicken was so tough, not a chance it fresh but if it was it had been so overcooked it was unbelievable. I didn't finish it but the sweet potato fries were lovely and the salad was ice too. My friend had a gammon dish which she was enjoying but then found a blonde hair in her peas. We told the staff but he said both the chefs hair was dark so he wasn't sure where it had come from? I'm sure they thought we had planted it lol. Anyway they took the money off the meal but very disappointed and would have wanted a nice meal instead.

My first visit was really impressed with everything the beer was excellent and food was great especially the gravy in sausage & mash, service was very good staff really couldn't done anymore to help me & my friend.

Overall, we like the environment at the pub - it feels cozy, warm... The staff is polite and helpful (although sometime we need to ask for a certain item twice). But I like going there and have always recommended the pub. Also the food, of course, is great (with little exception), even my daughter ate everything she ordered :-) Thank you very much for your hard work!

Amazing food, really friendly staff!

I was very disappointed with my visit today - my trio of meats Sunday lunch consisted of - tough, dry beef, a piece of crackling smaller than a 2 pence piece, a very small (same size as the child's food) portion of hunters chicken for my wife, incorrect pudding order taken. The staff were pleasant though it was purely the food that let them down. I won't be returning.

Not value for money like it used to be

Love it. Great variety of veggie food, served with smile and bit of banter! Asked and got a variation of vegetarian Sunday lunch. First time EVER a waiter said, 'excuse me' before interrupting our meal, to ask 'if everything was ok'. I liked this, it showed manners and customer consideration as sudden interpretation does throw me a bit, albeit, part of service expectation from employer. I was impressed with the venue having a local notice board for all sorts available in the community. Needs to be updated, some were out of date. Great idea though! Dig treats and for the first time ever, again... a box of reading glasses for customers use. How thoughtful. Again, another great idea. And another first... (they just kept coming..) the kitchen has a window for openness and customers to view their food preparation!! Everyone appeared to enjoy their meal. Host and staff were all accommodating. AND an added bonus, they offer a money off voucher, which covers over the weekend too! Pen-Bont is busy, so if you're thinking of going... i advise you to book a table.

We had eaten at Pen Y Bont Farm the previous Saturday and enjoyed the experience so decided to invite a friend to eat with us on 3 April. We were greeted warmly at the entrance and shown to the “Booth” which we had requested. We ordered a drink and when the meal arrived it was enjoyed very much by the three of us. We were very well looked after by the staff throughout. We will certainly be visiting Pen Y Bont Farm again soon. Many thanks. Brian

Had lunch there for fathers day. We've been here on numerous occasions. Food is always good. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

A friendly greeting always awaits you on the door. Service was slick, attentive very little waiting time..all 4 individual meals were brought to the table within minutes of each other..hate it when one or two people kept waiting for their meals...never happens here at Pen y Bont. We had a Tikka Masala Curry, Hunters Chicken, Leek, Cheese & Potato Pie and Chicken and Avocado Salad..every one of us enjoyed our meals..super delicious 😋
