Pembury Chinese in Tunbridge Wells

This is a brilliant take away and I am very lucky to live just over the road!! Quick, friendly service, food always delicious and piping hot, and fantastic value....

If you want a traditional Chinese takeaway, these guys have served us well for years. There is another Chinese takeaway in Pembury, however, we found this one to be better across the board, so we switched over a decade ago. I love going to collect and watching the chef in control of the cook area. The staff are mostly Chinese, some reviews suggest they are rude, but on dozens of visits I have found them friendly and helpful and polite. It's funny how people complain when they don't have the correct money - Tesco would not let you off, so why should these guys? The do now take credit cards (many years ago they didn't).

We have ordered many times recently and the food has always been fantastic. The Chicken Satay is superb. Won't go anywhere else

13 March 2021 ordered Duck with orange source, Peking spare ribs and egg fried rice. All absolutely delicious. Delivered precisely on time by a charming young lady. Great good and great service.

Ordered for a Saturday night. Easy ordering over phone and paid by credit card. Delivery took around 30 minutes by a very friendly delivery man. The food was really delicious. Highly recommend Salt and pepper squid and Chilli Beef. Will definetely use again.

They can’t make Thai. Advertise it on the menu but what u get is a Chinese curry. Def not Thai. Ok meal and I will go again principally because I can walk there. Will post another review when I’ve tried the Chinese which I expect will be better.

Poor service waited two hours for promised 30/45 min delivery time. Cancelled order and asked for refund they took money. NEVER VISITING AGAIN.

Ordered via website a simple meal for one at £8, when collecting price gone up to £9, beware. No compromise or apology.

We have used this take away for years as we like to tofu dishes and have our food delivered. The owner is often abrupt but we put up with it for the sake of the food. However, a recent order was made where the whole family put all their cash together as they do not accept card payments. Some of the dishes had risen in price and we were something like 40p short, the owner asked me to drop a dish and then when I did not seem very keen, she then proceeded to say that she would forfeit our free bottle of coke! This was the final straw for us, we have spent hundreds of pounds with them over the years, but they do not seem to understand loyalty and quibbling over 40p was just about enough. We liked the food but have not ordered since and we will not as a matter of principal.

Worst Chinese food I have ever had and how hay included supermarkets. Starters were soggy and cold. Mains were horribly over cooked and batter was soggy. I stressed that we had never used them before as we were new to the area hoping to be impressed, we weren't. We won't be using them again unless a crisis has struck. Best off saving your money.

Ordered a delivery to our local hotel one evening. The food was hot and plenty of it. A huge choice of dishes but I would recommend the pepper squid and the crispy beef. Great value also.

Enjoyed takeaway from here on several occasions, they will also deliver locally. Quality of food always reasonable, never had outstanding, never really poor. Portions are decent. Recommend the salt and cracked black pepper squid, and the Thai themed curries.

After seeing the negative reviews on here I was a bit sceptical about what kind of food to expect. The food we had was absolutely lovely (1x Thai meal and 1x Chinese), as were the staff and we will certainly be returning! Don't be put off!

We called and ordered our meal to be delivered...yes they did repeat the order on the phone which I believe is a good idea and they told us it would be an hour. It was an hour exactly. After reading the reviews on here I was not expecting much so was really surprised how lovely our meal was. Everything was really tasty and hot....even though we are approximately 3 miles away. And I have to say we had the best chicken balls we have ever tasted!!!! will be ordering again real soon!!! Thank you Happy Days :)

Just had takeaway from Pembury Chinese 88 Hastings road . It's normally not to bad but tonight I can honestly say it was worse than bad and only fit for the bin . Just look at the photo that was supposed to be chicken balls !!!!! About time they changed the oil perhaps .. Not happy and may not return ..... Would of taken it back but didn't have time unfortunately !!

Awful service after ringing in an order and repeating it twice and them repeating back as I'd asked they then delivered food order completely wrongly! I had no apology and they called me a liar!! I explained that I had ordered it correctly and there was someone in the room that heard me order....they said if I wasn't happy order somewhere else in future! Nice, obviously too many customers to care, although I doubt that very much if that's how you treat them.I won't be ordering from them again.

Great quick and friendly service but found a lovely hair in my rice! Definitely a massive no no for food service and rather not have someone's hair in what I'm about to eat.

Pensé que le daría este lugar otra ir como el "fish and chips" local estaba cerrado el domingo. La última vez que me tenía comida de esta comida para llevar, que celebró la mitad de lejos ya que era insípido o poco atractiva.

We highly recommend the Pembury Chinese for a good quality Chinese take-away. We have used this take away for some years and always found it to be of high quality with good service.This is a take away only - although would probably do very well if it were a restaurant!

We have used this takeaway for several years and have always found the food very good. There prices are very reasonable and we never had to wait very long for the food to be delivered.

Ordered a set meal for two and can honestly say it was great. Delivery times were slightly longer than expected but well worth the wait.

When you come back from a good day out, this is the answer a great Chineese for all the family. try it.!!!!

We ordered a chinease and Thai take away and it was around the price you would expect to pay and delivered within the timescale stated. The chips were quite good and sweet and sour chicken balls also good but the rest was very poor. The Thai green chicken curry had no green at all the chicken was processed and sloppy tasted way over cooked possibly boiled I think it was very poor quality chicken likely broiler chicken way over processed. The curry tasted really nasty hard to say what it smelt and tasted of but not good. Some of the ingrediants were really strange like boiled potatoes tinned type. I can honestly say this was the worst curry I have tasted. My wife had Chinease which was below average but edible. I would suggest that you only order if there is no other option locally or you just want chips? We have eaten at many chinease resterants and take aways and I realise every one has different ideas so have tried to be as fair as possible with this reveiw but sorry for me never again.
