Peking Garden in Hastings

The lady at the counter is extremely rude. Card machine didn't work so she demanded I sent her the money by bank transfer which I thought was a bit wild. She kept putting in the wrong details so it took me about 10 minutes to pay for it, by this time my food was soggy and cold. Once I had left and was walking home I realised she had given me spring rolls instead of prawn toast. When I went back to get my prawn toast she said I either had to pay for extra for it or give her the spring rolls back. While I understand mistakes can be made, I feel she dealt with the whole situation in a really unprofessional way and made me quite uncomfortable.

Went inshore to order , lady taking orders was very brusque and could do with some customer service training! I ordered satay chicken main and special fried rice , the rice was delicious however I didn't get satay chicken I received beef with pineapple and chilli. I didn't bother calling as I didn't want to walk back or wait for a delivery, the beef was fine apart from the fact that it wasn't what I ordered and I hate pineapple in Chinese food ! I would go back but in future will check the order before I leave.

I have used this Chinese several times and each time I have had no complaints neither have my friends who have experienced their food & service I would highly recommend ❤️🐾x

Avoid. Food was awful and they also dispose of their oil illegally and I often see the kids working the tills.

The food and service here are both excellent. Staff are always friendly, and the orders are completed rapidly. Very affordable and satisfying ^^ 10/5 stars

I've eaten here for years, such a shame I will be finding somewhere else. The last 3 times eating from here the whole family have been ill. The curry always looks like it's been heated from frozen same with the spare ribs and the satay chicken skewers. There is a serious hygiene problem either reheating food or its so dirty to be making us all have stomach bug after.

Would not recommend. Not for the first time had to wait over two hours for mediocre food. Ordered online, restaurant said they hadn't seen it. Disorganised.

Ordered online for home delivery and payment cash on arrival… (mealmap) Price to pay clearly shown at checkout and again on emailed receipt… Money sorted including a tip for the driver, but on delivery the paper receipt has been altered with another £3.50 added, driver couldn’t explain reason and wouldn’t give me the receipt… Luckily I had a little more cash as this could have been embarrassing… not fair putting customers in this position on their doorstep!

My dinner was delicious: not exotic but very satisfying. Rich hot & sour soup with a bit of a bite, veggie Singapore noodles and a quarter aromatic duck with all the fixings: julienned cucumbers, spring onions, plum sauce & pancakes. Complimentary bag of prawn crackers a nice bonus! Friendly service. Definitely will return. (I plated everything up at home before I took pics; everything tastes better on proper dinnerware with real silverware & chopsticks. :- )

**AVOID** I'd strongly suggest steering clear of this place. The food's mediocre and takes ages to get to you. We ended up waiting 2 hours for our delivery, even after being told an hour in (by a super rude lady on the phone) that our food was already on its way and would be with us in a few minutes. She didn't even bother to check who I was or where we were at. After another 40 minutes of waiting and having to call them back, the food finally showed up. Totally ruined what was supposed to be a fun celebration evening.

Worst Chinese ever was projectile vomiting within 40 mins of eating

The only Chinese we will use. So efficient and food is great. Also loved the new year calendar! Made my wife’s day and is up in our kitchen!

Highly Recommended! Got the duck rice and crispy chicken wings. The food was hot, the service excellent. Good value for money two with two dishes coming to around £10.

All ways been good nice .my friends use this place too .but was very disappointed with chow mein.wasnt how it usaly is .big chunks meat and king prawns ..got one baby prawn few small peices meat plus price had gone up was not good value for the price .like it usaly is .if new it was going be like this I would have not bothered .I will say something next time hopefully make it by up or if going be like this again in future me and my friends want be use place in future as wasn't be worth Monet be at 7pound wasn't good be value ether

Cor blimey was this an experience. Recieved my egg fried rice and was instantly blown away by the scent, flavour, texture and even tummy feel. After devouring the heaps of rice i ordered i then inhaled a copious sum of chicken balls and instantly felt a wall of joy hit me. I then relaxed on the sofa with my prawn crackers watching meta stasis and fell asleep feeling happy and safe knowing peking garden had fed me like a king. If your lucky enough to live close to this gorgeous restaurant, pop your head in and pick up some delicious balls. Lots of love The one and only Mister fowler

It's really anglicised, designed for those who love a sweet and sour dish with loads of sugar in it. Tried the Szechuan dishes, tofu and lamb, hoping for something authentically Chinese. They were edible, with nice veg and fresh chillis in them, but there were no Szechuan peppers in them at all, but there was a lot of sugar. It was more like a sweet and sour dish without the pineapples. The lamb was not great, tough and dry, but the tofu was decently cooked. It wasn't what I was looking for.

Made a switch from our regular bi-monthly chinese takeout gaff and were really surprised. On time. Hot. Fresh. No feathers ;) and enough left to do a few lunches! Taste wise exactly what you want from a Chinese takeout, delicious. Having a score below 4 for the quality we've hade multiple times is criminal. 10/10 will be frequenting again.

Last order I received from here was missing items and priced horrendously wrong, when phoned and challenged about prices the response received was the supplier put prices up and all the menus are wrong, extremely rude and unhelpful, really disappointed. After speaking to the manager on the phone got a rude blunt response again and they hung up, AVOID!

We don't buy Chinese that often so when we do we only ever use Peking Garden. Had a problem or two with wrong items being delivered. This is fixed with a quick phone call and had correct items delivered really quickly. Great food. Thank you.

Trapping pigeons, taking them into restaurant and not seen again. Un-hygenic to have wild birds in an eating establishment, are they killing and cooking them!!!!

They are trapping feral pigeons at this establishment and using them for god knows what, very abusive staff when asked why and confronted, please do not use this place, if I could give zero stars I would, absolutely vile

This restaurant in currently in the Press and has been reported to the RSPCA for catching pigeons in traps outside the restaurant and taking the birds inside the restaurant. I do not recommend the food....

I never write reviews because I hate to complain about the subject I work in.. I work in a fast food restaurant and I deal with a lot of rude customers etc. I phoned this place tonight to order some food and due to knowing what it’s like to be spoken to like rubbish on the phone I tend to become more polite.. when the phone was answered the lady in the phone straight away wanted the phone number I was calling from and rushed me to give it to her. Then when I was ordering I felt rather pressured because the way she spoke was like I need to hurry up. Then had the audacity to tell me to ‘hold on a minute’ no thank you or anything. Anyway due to her rushing me I forgot to order my rice. I phoned back.. as the phone was answered she shouted to whom ever and says ‘it’s that one again’ sorry but ‘that one’ how rude and disrespectful. It doesn’t cost anything for a little bit of mannerism. I’d expect that from a customer NOT the lady on the phone.

I placed an order with Vegetable Spring Rolls and we got given spring rolls with prawns. My boyfriend is allergic to prawns and luckily he didn't eat all of it. I'm really not happy about this. I'm not ordering from here again!

Walked in the rain 1.5 miles craving a chinese ,Placed a £15 order... walked back to find they forgot the curry sauce . Big plate of dry

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Beware this company regularly get takeaway orders wrong and do not have the decency to rectify their mistake in a professional manner. My husband and I order a takeaway on valentines day only to find, once we had put our mixed started on our plate that some of the order was missing. We called Peking Garden who assured us that they would send the missing items to complete the meal. 40 minutes later we called again only to find that they had done no such thing! The lady on the phone tried to convince us that she would send us the missing food but another 10 minutes went by and we heard nothing. We called back for a third time to ask for a refund, as at this stage the meal was ruined and she told us that the only way she would refund us was if we packed up the food already delivered and sent it back to her!!!!! I have never in my life received such and terrible service and I can say without any doubt that I will not be using this company again! Its a real shame that this company do not understand the value of customer loyalty!

Nice chinese food have been over charged a couple of times or it hasn't added up. The order has been messed up on a few occassions.Have to collect to insure I get the right order with no issues.

It is a takeaway. Every single time I have been there to collect, at the mentioned time, the food was ready and piping hot. The food is reasonably priced and tasty. Their vegetarian spring roll is a favourite of ours. My personal favourite from Peking Garden is the Char-Sui (Roast Pork) Chow Mein.
