Peking Express in Allerdale

I have just been verbally abused by the owners and watched them while they verbally abuse their own son and the poor lady behind the counter who were both close to tears!! They have a sign up in the shop they they won’t tolerate abusive customers and will call the police yet it is acceptable for them to take 2hrs to deliver stone cold food which is then taken back and they then refuse to refund and then be abusive to the customer, their own son and the counter assistant to the point I have had to call the police and will be reporting them to trading standards! Where is this ever acceptable. Please a) avoid and b) share

Avoid like the plague, 2 hours waited for a single meal, cold when arrived, half my order was missing, rang up to ask for a refund after I’d sent the food back, and got abuse from the staff just because I wasn’t happy with half an order of cold food, seriously, if I had staff like this I’d send them down to the job centre, maybe should’ve tried harder in school then you might not hate your job in a terrible takeaway 😂

Absolutely vile food, refused to replace cold food will never order from them Again, will be going down tomorrow when they open to throw food back at them

Been a loyal customer for as far as I can remember. Always order crispy chicken in bbq sauce. This time after a long day being at a funeral which didn’t help we thought we would get a Chinese to cheer us up. It came and I could tell it wasn’t the correct colour as soon as it came. So I phoned up and spoke to the lovely lady and explained. They made us wait an extra half an hour saying we were going to get new ones plus giving the other ones back so we weren’t asking for anything for free After half hour they rang and said they must’ve made the bbq sauce too thick this time so they will be careful next time. And we will not be getting new ones. By this time our food had become cold and untouched after false promises. The lady on the phone was amazing and I hope we didn’t get you into too much trouble as I heard you trying to explain to your boss he had messed up. But he was not having any of it and I heard him shouting at you. Absolutely not acceptable behaviour. Sad to say you’ve lost quite a few customers today. Lady on the phone I suggest you get a new job ❤️❤️❤️

Just spent £30 on the most disgusting bland Chinese food I've ever tasted in my life ! Do not order food from here Everything tasted like it had been cooked in dish water Absolutely rancid

I asked the difference between the small and large salt and pepper mixed box and the chap serving didn’t no he didn’t no English, hope he wasn’t an illegal immigrant but I order a large box it was ok but not the taste well a bit bland I would not recommend and won’t buy another one from there

Ordered from here today. Took an hour and a half to arrive. The fried rice had barely been fried at all, the chicken in the special curry and the prawns were really undercooked and was only luke warm. I ended up cooking the meal myself. The chips with the 2nd meal were overcooked and like they had been recooked multiple times and there was no actual potatoe left in them a lot of them were hollow and really hard. The chicken was that thin if it was not coated in breadcrumbs you could probably see through it. The bacon was mostly fat.Banana fritters..... What the hell was a chip doing in there? If your going to use the same fryer to cook everything at least make sure you don't have an old crusty chip in with a dessert. And talk about being tight on the syrup. Wow....Not been for a few years and I doubt i will ever come back. Not impressed at all.

Order a family meal at 5pm to be delivered at 18:35. Food finally arrived at 20:00. Food was cold and items missing from our order. I phoned again to complain and was told it would be a 2 hour wait for the remaining pieces of our meal, or I could have free food next time I ordered. I explained that I would not be using their service again so would not benefit from free food and would like a refund! At 20:40 we received missing item

Last night we ordered a chinese meal for our family, we placed the order at 5.14pm and it was not delivered until 7.10pm, we rang twice to ask where our order was and both times were told it was on it's way. The food arrived freezing cold and we had to re heat it all. The food was average and the customer service was absolutely terrible. When we rang to complain about the food we were told that there was no one to deal with the complaint as the manager was on maternity leave. This is the second time we have had a bad experience with this take away, we will not be using it again to experience another disastrous meal! I dont know why they have named this take away peking Express as theres nothing express about it!

Popped in for a take-away. They didn't have what I wanted on the menu, but were very happy to make it for me. The meat falls off the bone with the BBQ ribs; exactly as it should be. Lovely friendly lady serving. I'll be back soon.

Collected our food, Found an long hair in food, Rang up and asked for a refund, told to take the food back down to the shop went back and partially refunded and received terrible service and attitude from staff as they wouldn’t fully refund our full meal with being put off our whole meal. Overall attitude from staff was disgusting and unpleasant. Won’t be returning

Before lockdown this was a brilliant takeaway but I think it may have changed owner/management as the food it awful and delivery service takes up to 2 hours even when it not weekend.

Ordered beef curry it tasted off and was so chewy I just couldn’t eat it won’t be using this Chinese again in the future

Ordered over the phone, staff really friendly and food ready to pick up in 10 minutes. We had 2 mains, 2 sides and spring rolls, all were delicious. Good portion sizes and reasonably priced.

If I want Chinese food I think immediately of Peking Express. There's a huge menu to choose from but they could do with a better vegetarian selection. Peking Express has lovely, reasonably priced food, efficient and friendly service, what more could you ask for?

Peking express has gone downhill and is nearly inedible, the chicken was 95% batter and the little that was chicken was just hard and overcooked. Not usually one to write reviews but don't want anyone else to make the same mistake

Would have to travel far and wide to find a better Chinese than this. Delicious food and also get lots of freebies.
