Takeaway.. food was lovely. Bean curd option for vegetarians is a really good option in my opinion. I had bean curd in black bean sauce and bean curd in chilli sauce (since going veggie always wanted a replacement for crispy chilli beef and this is a pretty good replacement). Will definitely order again. Lovely food.

First time we have used this takeaway as we live in Stanford in the Vale, we fancied the set meal for 2 at £14.50 per head. I phoned the order in and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes, that was a bit of a surprise as it could take that long to get to Wantage from Stanford, any way I left immediately and arrived in the restaurant as the food appeared from the kitchen. This comprised of 3 starters and 3 mains, satay sauce, a hot chilli sauce and seaweed all in their own containers and all still hot when I arrived back home. The food was very tasty and the meat was exceptionally tender, I will be using this restaurant again and will recommend it to my friends.

TL;DR: The food is always good, the staff are always friendly, we always have a relaxing enjoyable evening, but have never had this sort of entertainment before! In more detail... We believe we were at the restaurant on the same night as Lateloveraprs (below). It is true, the service could generally be described as "leisurely", but not everyone likes their dinner served at high speed - if you are in a rush, go to a fast-food establishment! We arrived at around 6.30pm, and had finished eating a three course meal (plus prawn crackers while reading the menu) by around 8.30pm; this felt quite reasonable for a relaxing evening meal. We visit reasonably frequently and find the "buffet" exceptional value for money and very enjoyable, if a little unusual in style. Unlike many other "eat as much as you like buffets" the food is not laid out and going dry as you watch. Instead, they cook it to order. So, if you want more spring rolls, for example, ask and more will arrive. When they do, they will be hot and crispy, but you will have to wait while they are cooked. Yes, the starters are served with chopped lettuce, but most people would call that "garnish". The buffet includes three courses: as many "starters" as you want, a duck/lamb course and a "main" course, consisting of as many dishes as you want. They leave a decent pause between causes, but we are in no doubt that if you were in a rush (e.g. eating before going to see something at the Beacon), they would be happy to serve faster. Typically, a three course meal for two including a couple of drinks costs around £40-45. As far as we could tell, Lateloveraprs arrived shortly before us, but from where we were sitting it looked like they had an enormous plate of starters with drinks and probably the duck course before they complained. Although we were some distance away, it looked like they complained about the service (which we've always found friendly and attentive without being intrusive). Then they said they would not be waiting for the main course. The waiter was polite in dealing with him throughout and apologised profusely and tried to calm things down but to no avail. In the end, it looked to us like they ended up paying £25 (not £35). Before the couple left, they commented that they would write a review “on tripadvisor", and made sure that everyone in the restaurant could hear. That comment was inspirational...

Awful. Would give zero stars but 1 is the minimum. Waited so long for the “starter” in the buffet service “eat as much as you like”.. food padded out with chopped lettuce ... time taken to give dishes maximised to ensure profit from drink sales ... food neither here nor there flavour wise, commented that they were very busy ... but been here 3 times and it’s always the same. Would have hoped it had changed in that time. Spoilt evening, NEVER AGAIN. I recommend that you DO NOT visit this establishment. Charged £35 for a starter and 2 drinks each .... even though “all you can eat” and couldn’t wait for the probable and more than likely hours waiting for the “main course”.

The staff were friendly, hard working and professional. I had chilli and garlic squid for starters. I had szechuan bean curd for main with noodles. There was plenty but I managed to eat the lot. ! ).

We had visited this restaurant some years ago and found the portions small. However, it has since changed hands and is now very good. Not to be confused with the Thai restaurant opposite the narrow alleyway which is also good but different. In the Peking Dynasty, we met up with friends and were not disappointed. The room was small but light and clean. We later discovered there was another room upstairs. We had booked and it was full. We chose firstly several starters between us and it soon came on a large platter looking very appetising. There was then a middle course, our friends chose the duck with small pancakes, we chose the minced chicken mix with lettuce leaves. Then followed the mains which were a variety and all was accompanied by beers and green tea. The service was polite and helpful. When we left, we had a feeling of well-being, not still hungry and yet not over-stuffed. Even by the time we arrived home we still felt we had enjoyed our meal not always the case elsewhere. We are looking forward to our next meal there and thoroughly recommend it.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

We used to eat here regularly, then it changed management and they increased the number of tables: this meant that the takeaway delivery chap was constantly pushing through the restaurant part which became annoying. Tried it again last night, yet another change of management, all very different now: they'd returned to fewer tables, which made it much cosier and nicer: the decor was good, the music was just the right volume, and nicely Chinese-y in tone without being overwhelmingly ethnic: but the table cloths were really cheap paper, and the menus were cheap nasty paper things, garishly printed and not terribly clear - it gave the set price £15.50 for three courses "as much as you can eat", then a long list of dishes, and no sign of a buffet, which is how "as much as you can eat" is normally presented. As it was empty, we were able to ask the waitress how it worked: her English was pretty non-existent, but we eventually got there. The starters were fine, the usual deep-fried things, nicely presented. The crispy duck was chopped, not shredded (something which irritates me, but might not bother most people). After finishing our middle course, they took our order for Mains: the idea is to order four dishes using a combination of the 8 top items - chicken, pork, fish, beef, etc - and the long list of sauces below, plus a choice of two side dishes: rice, noodles, veg etc.We asked for fish in lemon sauce, and were told "lemon sauce is normally for chicken". We looked at the waiter in amazement, as we've had fish in lemon sauce any number of times in other Chinese restaurants. He shrugged and said "If you want fish in lemon, we can cook it for you." Oh good. (nb this does at least prove that all dishes are freshly cooked.)Shortly after, five dishes arrived. When we queried this, asking where the sixth dish was, the waiter said "I only wrote down five dishes" Huh? We chose six, and it's supposed to be as much as you can eat, so why only bring us five? We ate the food, it was pretty good. But there was no sign of "as much as you can eat", there was no offer to top up any dishes: maybe they thought if we "only ordered five" (we definitely ordered six) we weren't that hungry? So, to sum up: the food was good, not outstanding: the staff have that rather nasty combination of hovering when you don't want them, and ignoring you when you try to get their attention: the takeaway customers barge in and out, with their entire families, talking at top volume and clearly very much at home which is a little odd when you are trying to have a romantic/quiet meal in a restaurant: and something about the presentation is very cheap. But the plates were consistently hot, the food appeared to be freshly cooked (except the deep fried starters but that's what you always get) and the staff were sort of friendly, just not terribly helpful.

Main course wife had beef ginger & spring onion ... tasteless i had beef kung po was disgusting ended up throwing it away. this was spose to be home delivery but they refused card payment (even though their menu clearly states cards accepted) over the phone so i had to go into town to get it. When in restaurant I spoke to manager about the payment he said they to busy to take card details I explained a) it would only add 30 seconds to telephone call and b) as the restaurant was totally empty how on earth could he say that they to busy to take payment... Total cost was £27 for two dinners, waste of money and def would NOT recommend you dine here, use to be good food and service but looks like staff changed since our last visit here which was end of 2014. Dont touch this place it's gone back to it's old ways of poor food

What a pleasant surprise this little gem turned out to be!The restaurant is small at first appearance but it also has an upstairs seating area. Decor was all Christmas themed and pretty. Tables are laid out well considering the limited space available. Not right on top of each other as you would expect. We were offered a choice of 2 menu's to choose from. Both fixed price but the selection on the second "Christmas Menu" was a little more up market and looked absolutely brilliant. Set menu priced very well considering the portion sizes. There is a large selection of starters, a middle course of either lamb or duck pancakes followed by mains and if you really still have space the deserts are also plentiful.Staff were very attentavive and made sure everyone had something to drink without having to ask for it. Really really bugs me if i am in a restuarant and have to find a waiter or constantly ask to have refreshments. The food quality and service were beyond my expectations! Very well done - it was the perfect start to our New Year celebrations. We will definitely be back to sample the rest of your menu.

Excellent value buffet Sunday to Thursday at £15 per head. Main courses especially good if you've got any room left after the starters and crispy duck. Charming staff and a nice atmosphere mid week.

Ate here on a Sunday evening, the menu is a set price deal Sunday-Thursday with a good choice of starters followed by crispy duck or lamb with pancakesbefore a selection of main courses. It is eat as much as you want, if you want more of anything it is included in the set price. The selection is good and the food tasty, good service and a convenient position in the centre of town but parking is easy.

Have always considered this as the best Chinese restaurant in the area. Greeted with a smile showed our table and offered the menu and drinks quickly . The food freshly cooked arrives hot and is well presented. Portions are just right neither small or large . The staff are friendly and welcoming I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys Chinese food.

The all you can get chinese buffet from Sunday to Thursday is excellent. For around £15 you get a huge choice of starters, mains and it includes crispy duck pancakes. The food is quick to arrive, always hot and you can eat as much as you like. It inlcudes king prawns, squid and the usual meats all of which are very well cooked. Soft drinks are a little on the pricey side and sometimes I have suffered with the "MDS" head but apart from that very good indeed.Staff are always very polite and courteous. Highly recommended. also does takeway food and on Friday/Saturdays they have an a la carte menu which is delicious.

I've given an average rating as I have had mixed experiances from terrible to very good. I have worked out as much that I think the quality of the food is seriously dire during the week (different chef/each as much as you like menu??) and have no complaints when I've had takeaways at the weekend. So hubby and I still eat there but only at the weekends and we have always enjoyed the food that way. Very small restaurant so you don't you have much privacy when you converse. Rather amusing at Valentines with the hand cut paper hearts stuck all over the windows- tacky but sweet and funny.

Our three boys (7,5,3 yrs) asked if we could go out for a Chinese meal. We hadn't done this before so it was quite a test.Peking Dynasty was perfect for us. The service was impeccable and totally child-friendly.The fixed price menu is great but there is a danger of over-ordering. I would advise ordering less than you think you will need, the portions are very generous. This would be a great place to go with a big crowd as then you could try lots of different dishes.Everything we had was delicious, maybe it's not exactly how you would eat in the Far East but it was pretty close and our children loved it all.We are planning to go back with the extended family to try some more dishes. Highly recommended!

I had a takeaway from here and was very pleased, it was a nice change from the usual Chinese takeaway I use. The food was plentiful for 2 of us and very tasty. The staff were helpful and I was not kept waiting when I arrived to collect. Would like to eat in next time, will definitely return, difficult to really a restaurant from a takeaway.

The service was very good but the food very disappointing. Having lived in the Far East for many years, I have to admit that I much refer the real cooking to that which is prepared specifically for a european taste. The wonton was so overcooked that only a really good set of teeth would have won the battle to masticate it. The satay came in such large chunks of chicken that they were not marinated through. I do not like the "fusion" theory that all meats and all fish go with all sauces.Enough said!

Very tasty food and friendly service at a very affordable price. The venue is small and so I did book for a Friday night but there were some spare tables so it may not be necessary to book. We had a main dish and rice and one drink each and this came to £10 each. I sometimes go away from restaurants feeling like I've overeaten but this portion was just right. The glass of wine was very large, not the greatest quality but that didn't bother me. They do an 'all you can eat' buffet Sun - Thurs for about £15. The chap delivering the takeaways was kept busy all night. The service was very friendly and I would definitely come back.
