Peking Chef in Ipswich

Food is delicious and hot when arrived but the woman on the end of the phone was very rude to my partner think she needs to go back to school for customer service on the phone.

I don’t recommend their food, however was quick delivery.

Beef pepper's black bean sauce not fit for human consumption some of the beef was purple and smelt revolting. This place should be shut down. When I complained she said you English don't appreciate good food. I told her she must of smelt the meat was off she replied once cooked would be ok

This take away has served my family for many years. My boys are totally obsessed with prawn crackers and there have been a number of occasions they have given me two bags which has stopped squabbles (any mother will understand how much I appreciate that). The best sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style! Mother-in-law loves their prawn curry, and hubby's very fond of the chicken curry. Always a smile, always chatty, lovely people.

This has to be one of the most satisfying Chinese takeaways in Ipswich. The staff are friendly, professional, and the food is incredibly filling. A shame it's located in such a dodgy area, however the staff do ever so well keeping up their business all these years and maintaining that high standard needed for food preparation and cooking! 😊

Unfortunately this is the worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had… trust the reviews. My prawn balls were pretty much inedible, tiny prawns coated in thick uncooked batter. My crispy shredded duck was more soggy and chopped up, looked a bit like cat food.. and the hoisin sauce was the consistency of jelly.

The best hot and sour soup that I've ever had (and I've had a few). Great friendly service. Easy parking outside. Pancake roll was perfect. Can't wait to visit Ipswich again.

So.. where do I begin with this? On a leaflet indicating about allergens should be a good strongest point on any food establishment right? No… ignore this if you have an allergy of any kind because I went to order my food, ordered fine.. I then proceeded to ring again to address mine and my friend’s allergy only for them to admit on the phone that they use the same pan, same wok, same equipment etc - sure they can wash them but they said it’s not worth the risk! This is very dangerous! Not to mention, it’s illegal!

Yuck, nasty greasy food that gave me such a poorly tummy.

£15.00 down the drain. All food was freezing cold, apart from the chips which were quite edible. Certainly won't be using again.

Excellent food very good pricing. Been overlooking this place and travelling to "our" place the other end of Town. No need this was just as good and only 5minutes away. Result. Give it a try.

Each takeaway... Every dish you order... The taste is different... So some may like or some write bad reviews but we like it...

Brought a meal for the family, and nothing was nice at all. I wouldn't even give it one star. The chicken chow mein was stodgy with only three tiny strips of chicken, the chicken curry came with egg fried rice which I specifically asked to be changed for boiled rice and she agreed, yet it wasn't changed. The sweet n sour chicken balls were mostly stodgy batter and a tiny dry bit of chicken in the middle, the chicken satay sticks were rock solid, we literally couldn't bite into them. The whole meal was a complete disappointment, most of which was inedible. Don't ever order from here, I know I won't be and I will be telling others not to either.

AVOID AVOID AVOID, only a one star as i cant leave zero, food was absolutely vile, order was wrong when told they were rude about it saying its not their fault how the place is still in business i will never know

I was worried about ordering from this place when I first looked at the reviews but I must say this is one of the best Chinese takeaways I've ever had. The chicken was beautiful and perfectly seasoned. I would also like to say their employee Yik was so warm and welcoming and I can't wait to come back and order another fabulous Chinese. Keep up the good work.

Was once a good takeaway but last two times ordering women answering phone what a miserable rude old bag sorry I won't be ordering no more as felt that I was putting her out ordering food from there business

I don't rate this as a one star, but have to, to be able to leave a review, I rate this chinese at a minus ten, wouldn't even eat from here if I was homeless and starving, customer service was shocking, food was awful, presentation was awful, got the order wrong, over priced, wong tong was rude on delivery

Not even worth a one star rating. Food was absolutely disgusting never known a Chinese like it, they were rude and even after messing up my whole order all they replaced was curry and rice and was told to make do with the rest which had gone cold. To top it off my stomach isn't feeling all that great from it either. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Nah...first time in my life wasted my money on Chinese food.. service was promising, but taste and presentation was awful. ...if I think now..Place it self outdated too...should check food hiagen rating... Ive even seen some salads in random places too.. ...unbelievable they can run such place...
