I recently received a cake from Pearl and Groove which had experienced an incident prior to its arrival at my house. I was quite displeased with the overall appearance and did not feel comfortable serving it as was. I had applied a fresh layer of frosting over the cake and made some simple redecoration. I will say, however, the cake itself was delicious and all guests thoroughly enjoyed the cake. When I expressed my disappointment with the cake, I have to say that the staff at Pearl and Groove had gone above and beyond my expectations to remedy the situation. Needless to say, I will be ordering again from Pearl and Groove and I wanted to thank the staff for their generosity to remedy the situation!

Dear Sir/Madam, I don't visit your lovely bakery often - just occasionally when I visit head office and on these occasions, as a coeliac, I make a point of visiting. Today I ordered two cakes raspberry and passion fruit. Your sales assistant mis-heard me and thought I said Matcha and raspberry. I corrected her and said passion fruit and raspberry. I wouldn't normally complain and just let it go, but she has given me passionfruit and matcha. I didnt open the box till i got home to south london. Your products are lovely, but rather expensive (£9.00 for two cakes). Because of this, I think it is important to let you know. I think if you're charging the prices you do, it's important to get it right. Yours faithfully Rachael Haynes Hi Rachael, Thank you so much for taking the time on giving us your feedback. Unfortunately the sales assistant who attended you yesterday was me, the one who’s is replaying to this email. I’m really sorry to hear that I didn’t provide you with the right service and I’m sorry I gave you the wrong flavours. I remember I asked you twice to verify if it was raspberry and passion fruit and you pointed to passion fruit and matcha, so that’s how I ended up giving you the wrong one. In any case, you could clearly see the cakes I was taken so you could have told me I was taking the wrong one and I would have been more than happy to change it. Also I couldn’t hear you really well and you’re already seemed a bit upset when I asked you the second time. In any case, I’m sorry and I ask you apologise for what it happened, but we aren’t perfect, we are humans ☺️ I’m happy you enjoyed them either way and hope you’re having a gorgeous day 💖 Sometimes is not about the service you’re giving but about our energy on how we response to other people’s action. Best, Almu

Amazing bakery goods. All gluten free / coeliac friendly. Lots of different choices. As a person who can eat wheat I couldn't really tell the difference that's how amazing it is..

Amazing selection of treats, only one item with oats so was not at all restricted. Much more range and some different items to other London GF Bakeries. Staff very friendly & able to answer questions about ingredients. Truly recommend a visit for any Coeliac. I will be back.

I ordered through an app which was meant to give me a surprise bag with food left that day. I was given a piece of banana bread which was clearly at least a few days old - it was stale, unpleasant and literally had slimy mould on it and had to be thrown it. I emailed the bakery twice letting them know how disappointed I was and never received a reply - not even an apology for giving me something inedible. The salmon and cheese scone was way too salty, I had to have lots of water with it. The brownie was gooey but not fudgy and a bit overly sweet. Definitely not planning on coming here again.

This is the 2nd time I have ordered a cake for a friend in London. Since I live in Germany and had some special requests, I had to contact them several times by email. The answers came promptly and every one of my wishes was implemented perfectly. The cakes are beautiful and very tasty, ideal for people on a gluten free diet. A large selection, nice contact - I will definitely continue to order my cakes there

I really enjoyed having a cup of Double Espresso coupled with Gluten-Free Chocolate Chips cookies and Brownies here. Their muffins also looked delicious. I am looking forward to tasting them next time.

This is my second time visiting this bakery, the produce is good and of a high standard. The shopfront is appealing and welcoming. The compliments stop there. The staff are incredibly unpleasant, rude, privileged and arrogant. Everything that we are trying to move away from these days. One staff member was happy to stand and embarrass me as though it were a sport while another chipped in once he tired of the sport. Please avoid at all costs. Highly unpleasant.

Great cake! Everything is gluten free, so it was very hard to pick a cake. The waitress talked me through all the options - all the cakes are beautifully displayed in the window. I had a gingerbread cake with coffee. I went on a Friday morning, so it was pretty quiet. I wasn’t hungry enough for lunch after the cake, but the brunch menu looked great and I’ll be back to try it!

I tried the coconut and it was dry beyond belief. The icing was practically non existent so didn't help with the moisture. Taste was utterly bland. Crimbles macaroons are much nicer. It also came to a mouthwatering price. A rubbish cake by all accounts. Oh well, at least it looked pretty. Next time I want a gf cake that's a bit special, on portobello, I'll try hummingbird.

We found this gem of a cafe. All gluten free and very good. We recommend the blueberry pancakes and the scrambled egg and roast tomato on toast. A great selection of cakes and good coffee!

I popped into here Sunday and was quite impressed with the range of refined-sugar free mini cakes available! I got the blueberry and dark chocolate and the banana bread and peanut and devoured both that night. The takeaway bag the friendly staff put both cakes in is adorable, with a little pink bow tied on it. Both cakes were soft and crumbly, with the dark chocolate flavour (and the few blueberries sprinkled atop) shining through in the first and coat of creamy peanut butter on the second, with a few peanuts crumbled atop, the coup de grace. I’ll return again if in the area!

DO NOT order “white mushroom matcha” — not only it doesn’t taste like matcha, it tastes like mushroom soup sewer water with the solidified fat particles (you can see clearly on the picture). Yuck. £6.50 thrown away to a trash bin.

5 out 5 would be best ever. This was great but not best ever. Would definitely return for more deserts when nearby. Visited recently and service was friendly and fast. Purchased a brownie and whoopie pie. Deserts were yummy and very happy with our purchase. Wouldn’t travel just for these but if I’m in the area would be happy to try other things.

Nice coffee/nice pastries & cakes, London prices, of course. Well designed shop, comfortable seating etc. Space to use a laptop in (relative) privacy if you need that.

I love Notting Hill Gate, but unfortunately, the manager of Pret A Manger is very unprofessional and disrespectful. I have had more than three arguments with him. Unfortunately, he has very poor communication skills and does not behave in a professional and respectful manner. His attitude towards customers is problematic. I do not recommend anyone to have coffee there, as he creates problems rather than resolving them.
