I asked if there were nuts in a muffin and was told no. Luckily my daughter didn’t feel comfortable eating it. I took a bite and it had nuts. It was very good, but wouldn’t go back.

We stopped here on our way to Kensington Palace. The place is very nice, clean, quiet, seems like a lovely place for a leisurely coffee. Perfect for us before visiting the Palace. We got a coffee and almond croissant - the coffee was perfect and the croissant was excellent (not too sweet and not too much powdered sugar ). I took off one point because the route to the bathroom is weird -down and around a labyrinth. Staff was friendly and helpful. On the pricey side, but in line with the area and the quality of food

Paul Rhodes is known for delicious baked goods, but it is obvious they apply the same high standard to everything they do ... I am writing this review so that the next time I come to London I can look up my trip advisor account and remind myself of THE ONLY place that serves decent coffee. I sent 3 coffees back at The Ivy yesterday and I threw another 2 in the bin that I had purchased from the popular chains. I enjoyed the lemon drizzle cake with my perfect skim flat white.

I popped into Paul Rhodes bakery to grab a sandwich to take away. I chose the ham sandwich for a costly £4.40. It was quite small but I was in a hurry so bought it anyway. The bread/baguette was stale and chewy, the ‘ham’ comprised every other mouthful of gristle. No flavour, hardly any mustard. I kept having to spit out the gristle as discreetly as possible (I was eating it on a bus). It is probably the most revolting sandwich I have ever eaten; sold to me by a grumpy girl. I’ll never buy anything there again.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for nearly a year - better late than never. I wanted to order two Birthday cakes. Tried calling but the phone was never answered and I emailed the company and was told to phone my local shop. So I did that and left a message ordering the two cakes on the assumption that they were too busy to answer the phone during the day but would pick up messages in the evening (that’s what voicemail is all about right?) . So I went to pick up the two cakes and they said they hadn’t received voicemail and the phone was always answered - so I showed them (from my phone) the number of times I had called etc. The was mumbling to each other and the guy who said he was the Manager smirked and generally found it amusing. I wrote to the company to complain and they offered a token gesture like a free coffee or something but as my order was in the £80 range I wasn’t impressed and didn’t take it up. In the end I went to Whole Foods and bought some fabulous cakes. I’ve not been to Paul Rhodes since. I highly recommend Whole Foods though!

I love Notting Hill Gate, but unfortunately, the manager of Pret A Manger is very unprofessional and disrespectful. I have had more than three arguments with him. Unfortunately, he has very poor communication skills and does not behave in a professional and respectful manner. His attitude towards customers is problematic. I do not recommend anyone to have coffee there, as he creates problems rather than resolving them.
