Academy in Kensington and Chelsea

Acabábamos de llegar a Holland Park y nuestro anfitrión recomendado la Academia para la cena. Llegamos temprano para la hora de la cena, así que no hay mucho de una multitud todavía. El servicio era muy bueno y nuestra cena en tiempo y forma. Yo tenía el pescado y patatas fritas, que era muy sabroso. Pudimos conversar con algunos de los otros comensales que eran locales, así como de los dueños. A un precio razonable. Un gran pub local. Volvería de nuevo.

Es un pub de barrio, muy simple, pero el interior tuvimos cenas eran bastante buenas. Es catalogado como un Carvery Roast", y no sólo un pescado y patatas fritas. No tienen tiempo o hubiera vuelto un domingo cuando tienen un "asado", de carne y de cerdo, que sonaba interesante.

Un coin super jolie dans notthing Hill. Le restaurant est bon. Plats variés tradition anglais. Prix acceptable.

Es un pub? Un bar? Un restaurante? Yo la he usado como en los tres. Gran local y uno de los últimos en sobrevivir la plaga de 'cambio de utilización», las solicitudes. Buenas cervezas, mejor que menú normal y una buena lista de vinos. Hay asientos adicionales en los medios secundarias que es más grande de lo que parece en un principio. También tiene asientos al aire libre. La comida es esencialmente comida de pub, la calidad de los ingredientes es alto y las porciones son generosas. Just discovered this little gem around the corner from me, what a little local to discover, hearty winter food in charming relaxed atmosphere! Looking forward to exploring further!

Wish I'd never gone in here! Woman serving behind the bar was very rude and arrogant this was with out a doubt the worst experience I've ever encountered when it comes to service and just being polite or respectival of other people. NEVER AGAIN!!

Este restaurante es la última razón por la que ahora juro por Tripadvisor cuando viaja. Nos dio una cálida bienvenida, nos dieron la opción de mesas para sentarse y nuestro camarero Radi vino a tomar nuestra orden de bebidas. Mi amigo pedimos vino y cuando fui a pedir un martini dijeron que no eran su punto fuerte. Que raramente sucede. Él también atendió preguntas sobre el sabor, tamaño, etc. de más todo lo que había en el menú. La cabra era enorme, cálida pieza y el resto de la ensalada era fantástico. El pescado y las patatas fritas era una sabrosa generosa porción y la hamburguesa estaba preparado a pedido (muy raro raro). Los postres también lucieron con un delicioso crumble endiabladamente ligeramente reemplazando a la doble chocolate Tart. Otra vez un acogedor con un gastropub igualmente agradable comida y servicio.

Siempre me vienen aquí cuando estoy en Londres para jugar al bridge en el muy amable y relajado club que se reúne aquí en un miércoles por la noche. hago un punto de tener uno de sus comidas antes de que la sesión comienza y nunca me ha decepcionado. Hay una buena selección de comida clásica de pub grub o platos más categoría. Tanto las bebidas y la comida son un precio muy razonable y el personal es muy amable y servicial.

Really good service from the waitor named Veronica :) good food and good beer too! I will return. Love it.

Un lugar fantástico con a/bodega bar bien abastecido que sirve comida fantástica en un precio que usted puede esperar a ser mucho más altos en esta zona. que comer, beber aquí con frecuencia. El gerente y el personal es cordial y atento equipo, todo el mundo es bienvenido incluyendo niños y mimadas bien adiestrados

Just visited the place for the first time - great hidden away venue, more than competent food but totally let down by an Aussie Guy seemingly in charge of the bar. People skills nowhere near neutral - positively negative - get my drift? Dispose of him & you will have a 5 rating everyday. Presume he is only temporary - I regularly visit this area & feel so positively about your venue that i am going to post something similar on every review site I know of.

We had a family party at this lovely little local gastro pub the weekend before last. They served-up a very nice buffet lunch which was much enjoyed by all the guests. This is an ideal venue for an informal get together - it's child friendly, not too posh and very laid back.

The crew in my company's London office went out to dinner with a couple of us visiting Americans, and we landed here. It was great! We were able to get a table for 6 people without a problem at around 8:30p on a Monday evening. The pub is on a residential street and has a pretty charming feel about it -- a couple of small rooms and a homey vibe. The menu was very appealing, containing some pub classics and some healthier dishes. Thus, it was easy to satisfy everyone in the party. Hits were the fish & chips (perfectly crispy), the beef burger (really delicious), sausages and mash, and goat's cheese salad. The waiter was really knowledgeable about the menu and also recommended wines (and let us sample a couple before we got a bottle). Best of all, the mains were quite reasonably priced, so it was a fun social outing that didn't rack up a huge bill, even with the bottle of wine. Service was attentive throughout the meal. Would very happily return!

Questo piccolo pub-ristorante mi era stato consigliato da due inglesi, l'ho provato due volte e ne sono rimasta soddisfatta, la scelta del menù non è molto vasta, ma del resto non è un ristorante vero e proprio, la caprese che ho preso non era niente male, ci hanno aggiunto del pesto e questo l'ha resa più buona, gli spaghetti alla Jardinera sono parecchio piccanti, ma c'è a chi piace così. Il personale è gentilissimo, si può mangiare fuori, anche se i tavoli sono piccolissimi.

The Academy is one of many British pubs that have converted into "gastro pubs", or restaurants, as a result of changing public tastes. (Going down to the pub every night to drink and banter with the neighbours is not as popular in Britain as it once was.) We are here several times and found the menu always interesting and the food very tasty. We thought the prices quite reasonable for the quality of the food. Definitely recommend.

Good coffee, nice wines and the food was interesting, well cooked and presented with a varied and interesting menu choice.Set in a quiet residential part of Kensington this must at one time have been a local boozer but now this a friendly gastro pub - almost cafe casual.The main front room is a semi circle of tables and chairs set around the central bar. There is a second room with more casual tables and chairs, some very interesting art dresses the walls.Very casual and the sort of place to have a solo coffee or dinner with friends.Worth checking out and if I were in the area again I would certainly eat here.

Nous sommes arrivés dans ce joli restaurant,dans un joli quartier, mais nous avons étés envoyés dans une salle ou nous étions seuls, a l'arriėre du restaurant. Sinon, la nourriture ėtait bonne, les prix acceptables, l'ambiance agréable bien que nous fûmes seuls,la musique était variée, passant de l'opéra à la dance en passant par Amy Winehouse. Seuls bémols : le service un peu long et plutôt mal organisé.

Great place - we had a delicious lunch only let down by bland potato croquettes. Easy parking on a Saturday.

Ate on a warm summers evening. Menu is simple yet had plenty of interesting choices. Great value

Excellent value gastro-pub. Food is always good and interesting, service friendly and efficient. Good wine list, not over-priced, and the house wine is fine. Good corner pub atmosphere with modern styling. Popular with locals of all ages and incomes!

Very pleased to have found this lovely and airy pub in Notting Hill... Ambiance feels light (it is not the old traditional pub decor, which I am not saying is not charming), service pleasant and efficient and food REALLY good! Perfect place for brunch or for a meal & beer in the evening... as I said, perfect neighborhood spot!

Very friendly staff! Interesting, not overly trendy wine-list (if they have the sweet Pinot Noir when you're there you HAVE TO order a glass! It's divine!), and a menu with some classics and some more innovative dishes. You don't go there for the room (at least not the restaurant part), but I thought it was well worth the money and was very pleased with the whole experience there.
