PAYA Cuisine (Romford) in Havering

When you pay about 30% extra for your food. You would expect the takeaway to be good. Clearly not here. Satay chicken, was overcooked and dry. Nasi goreng too moist but acceptable Crispy salt and chilli squid, not crispy but soggy and flavourless Crispy shredded chilli beef was surprisingly 5 star and very good. Now the pad Thai. If your cuisine has Thai focus on it, the pad Thai needs to be at least decent, otherwise your takeaway is doomed. The takeaway is definately doomed, my pad Thai was swimming with sauce and overly sweet. All I could taste was the pad Thai sauce. Overall terrible food, definately would not order again. Absolutely overpriced for what it is. I pay £45 where it would usually cost me £28 in my local takeaway and this is ordering direct too.

Excellent quality food here, their noodles and rice dishes are excellent. They can be a little spicy depending on the dish you choose, so it would be good to give spice intensity options, like mild, medium and hot but otherwise the food is always piping hot and tasty! Full of flavour, CLEAN and great service!

This shop is ridiculous. They NEVER get my order right! I order online and over the phone with details about my allergies and they still find a way to make it into my food. This isn't even the first second or third time this has happened! That's it I'm no longer ordering from here and if I was you, I would not waste your time. Very disappointing

This place is absolutely ridiculous!! Avoid!! Placed an order through their website, they took the £30 from my bank then decided to decline my order but didn’t give me my money back. Was left £30 down with no food!! Rang and had terrible service from the guy who worked there, was rude and shouted through the phone telling me I had to go there myself (bear in mind I’m 9 months pregnant)!! So ridiculous and still waiting for a refund!!

Tried this Chinese after our regular was closed for the night. I think this will now become our regular Chinese. The food had loads of flavour, not greasy. Packaged nicely with clear lids to see the food, the sauce pots were in a tray so no risk of leaking in the delivery bag. The food was also nice and hot, and the chips were good and not rock hard like most are from chinese takeaways.

Their food is bad. Your taste is rubbish if you enjoy this Chinese. Ordered 4 different meals and everything was tasteless.

Over expensive food and me and my girlfriend got serious food poisoning from there so avoid this place

I was really hoping to be leaving a great review as the menu sounded amazing..... But I've just had my first and last order from here, menu is already in the bin!!! Chicken satay was cold and over cooked (sauce was nice though) soup was watery and flavourless, soft shell crab was soggy, worst rice I've tasted for a long time. I wouldn't mind paying the prices if the food tasted as good as it read, but as it is, my opinion is it vastly over priced for the quality of what they delivered.

Avoid. Took over 1hr45 to arrive. Very cold and hair in rice. I rang once for an update to be told 10-15 delay. Half an hour passed and they then just didn't answer the phone. Truly shocking

Delicious Thai curry and pad thai ordered and enjoyed! Great service. I've even recommended to friends and would definitely be ordering more in future! Thank you.

Great local Chinese takeaway, food tastes amazing for the price, very friendly one of the last, real Chinese paya , visit if you would like a taste of a real old-school Chinese takeaway that tastes as authentic as hell

Horrendous, tasteless, siomai had a bone in it!!! Ribs.... What ribs? Mainly fat! Spring rolls empty just extra rolls of pastry to give the impression it was full, yea full of grease! Dripping in it! Curry was lovely hence the 1 star but that was the only good thing, I will never come back, I was so looking forward to this being my new favourite, such a shame they have no clue how to do both cuisines properly, perhaps stick to 1 and master it!

Not good value for money , over priced, average quality , won’t be returning in hurry .

I loved this place chinese food

Well where should I start... this was out first order from paya, and this is the last for sure. Our food was burnt , no taste, the sweet and sour chicken omg god save my enemies from eating it... and i payed £26 to "eat" a food what i dont even wish for my biggest enemies. I think if I was going to central london and eat from Wok to Walk was cheaper and much nicer. Was better to check the reviews before I send the order.

The worst Singapore rice noodles I’ve ever had they tasted like burnt charcoal! Very small portion of over done chips special fried rice has lettuce in it, threw it all in the bin! Wing hing is LOVLEY

Ordered through JE and everything we ordered was good. The drunken chicken and crispy beef were particularly good. Recommended.

Ordered on deliveroo and was really pleased with the meal, not greasy at all, lovely flavours. Really high quality food! I don't trust the low rating on Google at all, on deliveroo they have a 4.5 rating, which is far more accurate. If you look at the people who have left 1 star reviews they have all only reviewed Paya restaurants, most giving the others 5 stars and this one 1 star. Clearly all the same person on different accounts. Don't be fooled, this is one of the best Chinese takeaways in the area!

Ordered on deliveroo (they have a 4.5 rating on there) but felt obliged to leave a google review as first time we've ordered from here and honestly one of the best Chinese takeaways we've ordered so not sure how it could possibly have such bad reviews on here. Really love the Asian fusion as only place I've been able to order crispy duck and Thai prawn crackers in one meal. Crispy sweet n sour chicken balls weren't greasy for once and the whole meal was really delicious. Good portion sizes too. Highly recommended the Char sui pork & mushroom foo yung! Will be ordering from PAYA again soon.
