Paya and Horse is like a visit to someone’s house. The decor is homely: a mixture of dining tables and sofas, books to read, a mixture of pictures on the walls, TV and radio going (not at the same time). Tash was extremely hospitable and a very good cook: the mixed grill was the best we’ve experienced outside Serbia. Bela the dog is another great asset: perfectly behaved and doesn’t beg for food. We visited on a Sunday night when it was quiet enough to hear each other speak, a rare blessing in Battersea. We’re definitely coming back.

Great pub and cosy atmosphere. Natasha prepared traditional Serbian starters and main course, after a tasty shot of slivovitz. The service was friendly and unhurried.

The owner was incredibly rude and disrespectful. He even asked if I wanted to have a fight with him. Not what you’d expect or should put up with from anyone let alone someone who is serving you as a paying customer.

We visited this place during our stay in London. Food was fantastic, drinks were cheaper than other places we visited. this seems to be a local pub not a touristy pub. Owners were very welcoming. Teh wife was super nice the husband is grumpy at times, but nice. Keep in mind he is an artist and his art is on display in the pub. There are some very nice pieces available for sale. I am sure I will be back as soon as I can travel again.

Beauitiful pub, good Serbian food cooked by Natasha. The staff are friendly. The owner Paya who shows his art in the pub is a interesting man. He can be loud and offensive. Some comment are not appreciated. Otherwise a enjoyable meal.

Amazing food, great drinks and the owner is a legend. Fantastic time! I went with a couple of the boys and the pork belly was amazing!

Last Friday evening we have booked an outside table at Paya and Horse. There were four of us and we have been looking for a place in London that serves Balkan's food, as we are originally from Former Yugoslavia. We were pleasantly surprised with our discovery. At the very heart of London, just across Chelsea Bridge, this modest pub offers a great quality grill (Cevapi, pljeskavice) accompanied with freshly baked bread, salad and fries. The sizes were generous, we could not eat it all. Furthermore, the best feature of this place are the owners, Paya and his wife Natasha, friendly, warm welcoming. They couldn't do enough for us. We will be back for sure.

Owner was very rude & aggressive to us from the moment we walked in. Would not recommend visiting here.

Bij toeval hier gekomen. Heerlijk eten, super vriendelijke eigenaren en, die zelfs het menu aanpassen om ons accommoderen. De inrichting is curious, maar dat maakt het charmant.

We have been staying in the local area and just stopped one day for a coldie. What a surprise. A 2 pound hot dog with one of the best sausages ever. The beer was just what we wanted, nice and cold. OK the decor is a little dated but on the other hand it is really quirky. We have been back since for a meal and cannot fault the food. Amazing white bait and great mixed grill. If you take the time to chat you will discover how friendly the owners are.

For me, the owner of this pub epitomized the worst of all worlds in hospitality. The worst service. The worst attitude. The worst understanding of the fact that the customer is king. I could go on, but words fail me. You have been warned.....

Go there, if nothing else than to see something unique. Others have said the landlord was rude, we found him pleasant but direct. The pool table is fine as is the bottled beer. The decor is fab, fun and unlike anywhere I’ve seen.

We did not if it s worthy to come in but we tried. Next time I'll think twice. The pub was empty and artistic. We understood why as soon as we had the chance to interact with the owner. He said to stop pay billiard and leave because the game was over. Nobody was there. We left we did not say a word , I brought him the glasses back and say bye. No answer. You can try if you want but good luck.

A lovely visit to this friendly pub. The Serbian husband and wife hosts made us feel very welcome. Great Serbian food and a warm welcome. It's eccentric but all the better for it! Thanks for a great evening

I've read some scathing reviews of this place, and I can understand why. However, my visits (before reading them) found me always enjoying the place, its truly idiosyncratic management and décor. Called in a few times for a drink after a locally-held political meeting, and enjoyed the ambience. Not a hi-end drinker, but plenty of atmosphere. Haven't eaten there, maybe that's the next step ? But do be warned, it's not for everyone.

Me and my friends feel us very welcome and comfortable there. The Serbian Food is awesome. The Staff & owner PAYA are very friendly. Thanks to Paya for an unforgettable stay!

This PUB was the best find in LONDON, forget Buckingham Place this place has it ALL! It should be on the BIG BUS route! Meals were fantastic and the service was fast and the atmosphere was FUN! We ate here every night of our vacation!

Puedo decir honestamente que este es el mejor pub en Londres. El propietario es una leyenda viva, que está respaldada por el auto retratos, música de fondo, un estudio de arte nativo americano, excelente colección pato de goma y mega-bromas detrás de la barra.

Tres de nosotros nos metimos en una noche para cenar y tomarse unas copas.

Un lugar increíblemente nada acogedor. Fui con otras tres chicas y nos dijeron que no se les permite jugar al billar ya que no estábamos profesional como el color verde es caro y que era probable que a las ruinas. Mi amigo se sirve una bebida incorrecta, cuando le dijimos que nos pidió que "ser honesto" y luego, ya que otra vez nos dijo que no pedimos esa bebida, nos dijo que para salir y "a llevar nuestro (grosera palabra de insertar) en otro lugar". No podía creer lo desagradable que era. Somos profesionales y no eran groseros con él. Increíble.

Went in for a pint, really nice pub, if a bit quiet, really nice. and interesting atmosphere too. Not the swankiest, real feel of a 'local'.

Never have I been threatened to have my legs broken for playing a screw shot on a freshly clothed pool table. Well priced Fosters. Best selection of craft beers in London, caters for all.

Walked in unexpectedly primarily to use the toilet but thought well if I'm doing that I may as well stay for a quick drink on the way to meet friends. Walked to into an empty pub a towards the toilet first to be told that...

Went to this pub today with a few friends. One of them accidentally smashed a glass, apologized a million times for it just for the owner to have a go at us for bringing a child into the pub, trashing the garden and breaking his property (aka a beer glass). We were just sittng in the garden, drinking our drinks. No idea why he told us we trashed it... Owner also told us there were no kids allowed in the pub, but there were a couple of 12-year-olds playing pool inside. The owner was very rude and aggressive towards us. I'd give 0 stars if I could...

Absolutely shocked at the rudeness of the guy behind the bar - abusive language, threatening behaviour, and completely ruined what should have been the end of a great day out after having spent it with some friends who all travelled into the city to meet up. Absolutely disgusted with this place. If I could give it zero I would!!!!!

Whoever gave this Serbian pub five stars must have been friends with the owner. There was absolutely nothing "nice and friendly" about it, in fact it was a wholly unpleasant experience for us - crap exterior and interior, a grumpy waitress (presumably the owner's wife), a grubby-looking, very basic and ridiculously overpriced menu, a singer/guitarist who sang in Spanish ("Guantanamera") and a roaming dog that seemingly suffered from rabies. When we decided to leave after five minutes, the door was blocked by a scary-looking tramp (presumably the owner) who demanded £1 from my friend for using the restroom which didn't even have lighting or electricity. When we visited on Sunday afternoon, there was only one other customer there, which really says it all. This place is a complete and utter joke, avoid at all costs.

Terrible service in which the doorman threatened my girlfriend who went to the toilet and the bar staff didnt seem bothered in slightest as it goes on all the time. Avoid this place at all costs.

Was missing Balkan food so much my friend told me to try this place, I was there by 1300 it was closed I called the no and one guy answered very rudely He even came out to tell me to go out from there just coz I was with my family we just wanted Balkan food coz we come from there, I was living there and this has never happened toMe this is not way to deal with customer no matter where they come from

My friends and I were really eager to try out this place last week but to our despair, the restaurant was closed! A postman who was sending out the post told us that he hasn't seen the shop open since December 2013! Hopefully it will reopen soon!

Staying in a hotel nearby on Chelsea Bridge Road, took a walk in the area looking for somewhere to eat and drink. Fairly limited choice of anywhere that looked that attractive on battersea Park Road, however this pub attracted me. A glance at the menu outside revealing that they served Serbian dishes. Entered the pub, which was clean and prersentable. Was warmly greeted by the landlord. When I asked about dishes on the menu, he was delighted to explain them, and make recommendations, extrememely friendly and welcoming host. Menu consists of about 6 or 7 Serbian specialities, (landlord being of Serbian extraction) plus 6 or 7 standard pub staples, fish and chips, all day breakfast etc, with a decent choice of starters and deserts.Choice recomended (can't remember or pronounce name), was delicious, thoroughly pleased with what I was served. Decent wine list, very good glass of S African Chenin Blanc at a reasonable price, although choice of beers could have been more extensive. Good, tasty, reasonably priced food, warm welcoming landlord. Pleased I chose to eat here.
