Paw Thai in North East Lincolnshire

What has happened to this restaurant? The food used to be so lovely. The Ch Chee (rated three chilli) had as much heat in it as an Irish stew. The salad starter had no papaya and sadly, they do not seem to keep Chang beer. The food was disappointing to say the least and we will be unlikely to return. Interestingly, most tables were empty at 7pm when a nearby competitor had no tables available until much later in the evening! I think that says it all.

Lovely, casual Thai restaurant. Food was excellent, with great choice for vegans. The owner was delightful as well. Recommended.

Im a massive thai food fan. Couldnt wait to try here and i wasn’t disappointed. Restaurant was quite busy when we were arrived and took a while to get menus, apart from that everything else was great. My husband has never had a Thai meal and he loved it. Will come again the next time we are in cleethorpes.

We have been to the restaurant to eat in and was really impressed with the food and service, so we went for a takeaway this time. It was for 8 people, so I printed out the order for each couple and took it in the day before, asking for a 6pm pick up and each order to be labelled with the name of the person. I arrived on time and had to wait 10 minutes because they were just finishing off the order (so it was obviously really freshly cooked). Each order was clearly labelled, and the bill was done with the name of each person printed on separate receipts and then totalled up. The food was delicious, and throughly enjoyed by everyone - whatever their choice had been! The people who work there are incredibly friendly, helpful and cheerful, and make visiting a real pleasure. This was a Saturday, and most of the tables were laid out for reserved places, but 2 couples popped in on the off chance and they managed to get tables sorted for them, so although reserving is advised, they will do their very best to get you seated.

Tasty Thai food. Had sharing platter for two starter. Mains were beef massaman curry (tasty & not chilli hot) and red Thai duck curry (rated at two chillis hot on the menu) plus steamed jasmine rice. Both dishes delicious. Dessert was boiled banana in coconut milk with sugar - ‘gluay borchee’ which is a typical Thai dessert. If you have a sweet tooth and like banana & coconut then you must try this. Decor basic. Service friendly. Would definitely return.

Can't believe i haven't tried here before despite living locally. Inside is neatly decorated with no fuss. Service was great without being overbearing. Went with a mate and we ordered a set meal for 2. More than enough food for two people. Chef's mixed starter was fab, satay sauce to die for. Other two dips very tasty. Mains consisting of a green curry and beef were delicious, rice and noodles a great accompaniment. Fantastic value and notch food. Will be back in no time!

Some of the best Thai food I have had outside Thailand… I asked for my soup to be very spicy like original Thai soup & the chef, one of the owners came to check if it was 2 spicy for me ha .. I told her it was perfect & I enjoyed it so much! My partner had a beef dish with cashews & the sauce was so delicious and the meat tender!! Just wish I lived there so I could eat it all the time, such a friendly family run place…. Highly recommend 👌🏽

Lovely Thai restaurant on sea front road in Cleethorpes. Stylish decor. Wonderful food- quality fresh ingredients including fresh herbs. However service did suffer- I think kitchen has ot of pressure on it from take away/ delivery service which impacts adversely on the restaurant. Maybe I should take a table and order on line for it to be delivered? Just a thought!

Terrible customer service phoned for a table said they had none went past had 3 tables so called in said they had none still tried to phone for takeaway took phone off hook .

Food was fantastic, so fresh and flavoursome. Value for money. Would recommend if visiting the area.

Paw Thai has a lovely atmosphere, and the friendliest staff. The menu is first class, and for us who love Thai food we were more than happy with the delicious, piping hot food that was served to us. Walk past here at your peril, and Paw Thai is ideally located for a drink both before and after your meal. A great meal - thank you all at Paw Thai.

We visited this restaurant Saturday 14th august while away on a blokes golf and booze weekend . Absolutely amazing food and service. There wasn’t a plate with a scrap of food left on it ! Will return one day for sure .

Went on 21 of July for the first time we all shared the meal for two at £35 and had the Shanghai beer. All I can say is when asked by the very friendly staff was everything ok my thirteen year old daughter said amazing. Will definitely be doing a revisit next time we’re in Cleethorpes.

Yesterday we went to paw Thai for my dads birthday meal. The staff were extremely attentive and provided excellent service. The food provided was delicious and had great portion sizes. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to coming back again soon.

We love Thai food and eat it regularly. Have to say the food here is mediocre to say the least . Strange choice of vegetables - never had bamboo shoots in Thai food for example. Not a problem as I like them but not expected in Thai food. The menu has a good choice of dishes. However my and my husbands choice was insipid to say the least . The chilli sauce was well weird - I would guess it had been watered down with vinegar. There were only 2 other couples in there and yet I had to remind the waitress to bring our drinks. When she asked if our food was ok and I said it’s insipid she asked if it was too spicy . Lol ! If only ! Really disappointed as it’s now our local but we will drive 25 miles to our favourite in Lincoln as it’s the real deal. We won’t be going back here. Such a shame .

First visit since change of premises. On arrival couldn't help but notice the poor ambiance as the noise from other customers was deafening due to the poor design of the restaurant. Waitress was welcoming and the starters excellent. However the main course arrived luke warm with cold plates and serving dishes. The rice in particular was stone cold. Our complaint was met with little response and the meal was returned having been microwaved and completely spoiled in fact one of the prawns "popped" after being cut into. Our family birthday celebration was left flat. I will not be returning and do not recommend to others.

Came here on a Friday evening, around 9. Friendly, attentive, service: the young lad said it was his first night serving, and I can’t fault him!

We have been using Paw Thai for over 20 years since they were the first Thai takeaway above Russells in Cleethorpes ! Haven’t used them for about 6 months but ordered a takeaway tonight , went online and made our order for 2 which came to £30 with the 10% takeaway discount , not cheap but the food is always good. On collection we were told the online menu was out of date and it was now £40 which we paid but 25% increase is ridiculous !! We were given a new menu , the mixed starter has gone up from £8-95 to £13-75 really!! Then having eaten the meal it was very average compared to normal . I know costs go up but 25% is ridiculous, if you change your menu and prices surely you must change your online menu as well , you have now lost a regular customer.

Friendly service and really enjoyed mixed starter they made specially for 5 of us. Would visit again.

Just around the corner from our hotel we found this restaurant, the food was exceptional in fact some of the best Thai food we have tasted, well priced with pleasant staff. If your in the area treat yourself.

Ate here tonight with family. This was our second visit. The staff where very attentive and kind. Really liked the Lotus flower napkins. The food was delicious. We will definitely be coming back soon! What a lovely place and staff. Thank you for making our night enjoyable.

Visited here for the first time and really enjoyed the food. Green curry was hotter than we expected but still tasty. The sharing starter had some new flavours for us but we still enjoyed it. A minor point was that the sauce on the ribs was extremely salty - but as we have not had Thai before this may be how it's supposed to be.

The food was lovely, very quick service ... choice of meals were good, you didn't have to wait long but while you were waiting they brought you a little appetiser out which was lovely.... overall very good.

Paw Thai has a great menu with lots of choices. I had the Chicken satay which was very good quality meat and piping hot. For the mains, my Beef Mossiman was wonderful- it was the first time I had had this dish with sweet potatoes and the combination is excellent. the accompanying sauce felt more English than Thai but it was still a great meal.

Well what can i say, this restaurant doesn't disappoint. The restaurant is beautifully maintained and was impeccable. The staff were attentive and pleasant. The food was second to none and was tasty and well presented. Absolutely loved it. Plenty of choice on the menu too.

Went last Monday, after reading the past reviews we thought we would give it a try........Big mistake. Cold, no atmosphere, no one talks to you, the food was very unimpressive, unimaginative, no fragrant smells from the food, even the jasmine rice wasn't jasmine, it was just sticky rice.We had the set menu for 2 (A) the starters were very gluttonous, the chicken satay was just a bit tasty, the spring rolls tasted of nothing, the fish cake? was awful. The garnish was just chopped white cabbage and carrot.The mains of red curry was not very nice the noodles were just scraps of left overs then re-heated. £50 for 2 with a bottle of wine is not too expensive, but the food was rubbish.We were completely ignored by the waitress, she left customers at the reception desk whilst having a long conversation in the kitchen.What a shame!!

We have never been to this restaurant before despite eating out quite a lot in Cleethorpes. We fancied something different after having a few drinks and decided to give Paw Thai a try.We have been missing out on something special! We were made very welcome by the staff . We had traditional Thai beer and a mixed platter of starters to start with. This was followed by chicken stir fry for me and my husband had prawn red thai curry. He was more than impressed with his dish and mine was also good.The meal and drinks came to £38 .......so also very reasonable. Only negative is the decor which is a bit dated but dont let this put you off.We will definitely be back and will try other dishes. Thanks for a lovely meal!!

In the need of a change from the usual India cuisine we decide to give this a go. We pre booked for a Saturday evening but there was plenty of room. Décor nothing flash but service was friendly and efficient. We had mixed starters to begin with and all very nice. Followed by an assortment of Thai Curry, noddle dishes. All of which were very nicely done. Plenty of flavour and spice Definitely worth a shot if you fancy a change

Wish we had tried this restaurant sooner! We visited on Saturday night. We have the mixed starter platter to begin the ribs were amazing a really good selection including favourites such as spring rolls, Thai fish cakes and chicken satay. Prawn pad Thai, stir fry chicken and cashew nut and a speciality monk fish dish were all delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient. A really great meal we will be back.

We came on a couples trip to Cleethorpes for Valentine's Day 2017. We was unsure on a good place to eat out as expected everywhere to be packed. We came across Paw Thai and it didn't seem overly busy but we thought we would try it anyway as couldn't get in elsewhere.I honestly can't understand why it wasn't fully booked out! The food was outstanding and so was the service. So warm and welcoming. As a regular visit to Thailand itself since being a baby, I know good Thai food and id definately put it on par! Took me right back to my childhood!We would 100% chose to eat here again if we visit Cleethorpes and have no doubt that we will be recommending to visiting friends.Definately give it a try if you like good, tasty Thai food!

Honestly can't understand why this place never seems packed !! Had banquet for 4 people and the food and service was excellent. Fabulous variety of great flavoured meals served piping hot. If you want to experience great Thai flavours but are unsure what to order the banquet is a great idea and would recommend

I've eaten here three times and my order has never been right! The food is authentic Thai, nicely presented and very tasty but it's frustrating that there's always something wrong. The first time we received the wrong main course,second time we were charged for the table next to us which was £17 more than our bill and the third time we used as a takeaway and when we got the food home 2 dishes were missing yet we had been charged for them! The food is good but the service isn't which really lets the place down.

Had a lovely meal here on bonfire night. We booked in advance although it wasn't very full, probably due to there being several displays going on in Cleethorpes. This was our first visit to this restaurant and we went with friends who had been before.The restaurant itself was nicely set out and very clean and bright.You don't really need to dress up to go there as it isn't formal in any way.The staff were very helpful and courteous and were happy to help and would explain anything if you weren't sure about it but the menu was very comprehensive and explained what was in the dishes and how hot they were by way of a chilli next to the meal. We had a mixed starter and various mains and rice, all of which were tasty and authentic. All in all it was a lovely experience and not very expensive.

If you like Thai food a visit to Paw Thai is a must. Great friendly service and top quality authentic cuisine. Prices are very reasonable I find it difficult to understand why this restaurant is not packed every night. Brilliant

A last-minute booking that turned up a little gem in terms of food. The tastes were exciting and the food well-presented with plenty of choice. My only criticism was that the restaurant was a bit cold.

Had a great meal here. Large party and the wait wasn't long. Prawn crackers on arrival with sweet chilli . .many starters ordered as well as main . . Tofu starter wasn't great though. Spices in the starter soup and 2 of the mains was very hot . But I liked that.Everyone happy with there meal. Would go again for a quick meal but not for a special occasion. Just there wasn't a lot of atmosphere.Quiet though only 3 tables and us at 8pm on a Friday night.

well i have lived in Thailand most of the past ten years ,so it`s fair to say i have eaten lots of thai food , i have come here maybe a dozen times and the chef always makes myself and wife feel welcome and "spices up " my dish to my personal taste , we had the mixed starter for two " fantastic " , i had a chicken red curry and my wife a chicken mussaman , both again where great washed down with a thai beer or two .

Now where do I start with this one, I can still picture tasting the loveliness in my mouth 24 hrs later. We fancied a Thai and were due to go to So Thai in cleethorpes but couldn't find it so decided to give this a try. We were literally blown away with our choice. Our first impression of the place was not good, plastic limited drinks menu and a menu which didn't give you much to go by if you don't know your Thai food. We decided both to try the first meals that caught our eyes. My, oh my, we were impressed when the food arrived. Absolutely amazing, the most tasteful meals we've both had all year. The food literally spoke for itself and before long we didn't even think about the the sticky table or the unromantic environment. If you are in a mood for a taste explosion which doesn't cost too much in cleethorpes, this is the Thai for you. Obviously I can't say it is the best Thai in cleethorpes as I haven't tried the others but in comparison to some Thai restaurants I have been to around the country, I can honestly truly say, this had the most amazing food at a very reasonable price. We will be back.

Quiet restaurant, only people in at 18.30 Wednesday night.At 19.00 2 more couples came in.Table was sticky, could not move my spoon etc...Prawn crackers where not that crispy....They sold singa & Chang beers! Great!Personally I ordered Tom Kra chicken soup with boiled rice.Taste was good, chicken was too dry...Colleague had a green curry, it was "ok / good".

A regular with the family when we have a big get together. The food is excellent whether you eat in or take away. Staff and service great too.Especially enjoy the Tom Yam, Geng Pa and Geng Deng.

We've eaten here twice in the past fortnight and both times service has been really friendly and the food amazing.We started with the Paw Thai in an attempt for the kids to try a bit of everything which was a great starter, 2 of everything, not too heavy. My husband had the Geaw grob gai which was also really great with the dips provided.I had the green thai curry but also dipped into my husbands red curry and my daughters chu chee all of which was full of flavour, hot and spicy but it was all about the flavour and not hot just for the sake of it.I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to everyone who enjoys thai food

We visited for the first time and would recommend. We had the set meal E for four and it was wonderful. The quantity was very good and the quality super. The starters were lovely. Super place that had quite a few customers over the evening we visited.

Visited PawThai last Friday. We shared a mixed starter between the two of us, and this was very nice and thoroughly enjoyed by the both of us.The mains were cooked to perfection and were very tasty. The staff were attentive without being over whelming. Will certainly be visiting again.

Paw Thai is on the main road back from the sea front on cleethorpes. Only open in the evenings. Food is authentic Thai and freshly prepared. Good ambience and choices on menu. Reasonably priced. Dishes can be spiced up or down according to individual taste. Friendly staff.

Visited on a Saturday night with a group of 7 others. We all had various starters & mains & every one enjoyed what they had. It was quite busy & felt sorry for the other diners as we were well on our way & rather loud at times. But this was not a problem with the staff at all. Would highly recommend & will be going back again with my husband while completely sober next time!

This place is great! We came here after reading the great reviews. We normally approach Thai restaurants with hesitation, because they never taste as good as the food we had in Thailand. The food here tasted great, the service with brilliant and drinks were reasonable. I would recommend this for Thai food lovers who are eating in this area. Also make sure you talk to the staff if you want tweaks / changes to this food as they were very accommodating e.g. making the curry less/more spicy. Will come again if in the area for sure.

Very good authentic Thai food good portion sizes. Best deal is the banquet for £15.50 each . You choose your courses or leave it to the chef you will be pleasantly surprised. You must try the authentic Thai beer it goes well with the food.

Went to Paw Thai on the Saturday after new year, it was early evening, so all a bit quiet. However, the meal was great, we had the set meal for 2, with mixed Thai starter, green curry, chicken and pinapple, vegetable noodles and rice. Very reasonably priced at £30. Food was very good, and service very friendly, although the restaurant was a little chilli. Will definitely be going back soon.

Went to Paw Thai for the first time recently for a birthday celebration meal. The staff were so welcoming and pleasant, and the food was excellent. Most of us went for the mixed starters and mains which were all delicious. Someone else in our party chose a main course (don't know which, sorry), and he enjoyed it but said it was incredibly spicy.

The food here is lovely and reasonably priced too. Friendly staff and good ambiance. We chose the set menu for 2 which consisted of a variety of starters and two main dishes for £29.50. Excellent value.

Gang dang duck is my fravor dish, so tasty!We so enjoyed our dinner in Paw Thai, deffinately recomend this restaurant and we will be back again for our next visit to cleethorpes.
