Friendly cafe with reasonable priced food good menu and great sausage rolls . It’s a bit of a way to drive for us but worth the round trip if we have some shopping to do. Seating outside if it’s full inside .. which it usually is ! Fast service and good value . Parking can be tricky but we usually manage .

Afternoon tea.. unfortunately this experience was not at all like we had experienced in previous visits over many years . The prices have increased due to cost of living but what you get for the cost quality and value wise has changed a lot too and not for the better. The salad was scrimped on and coleslaw ( previously had a good salad with mixed leaves grapes and strawberries and this time barely a bit of lettuce tomato and yellow pepper, no potato salad). Savouries would be great for people who like a cheese overload . Unfortunately we didn't like cheese so most of this was left. The sandwich fillings have changed too and no ham or beef fillings which is a shame. £64 for 4 people isn't particularly cheap and we left feeling very disappointed. Shame as we have been coming for years but it's not the same anymore. Missed the previous selection of varied savouries and different sandwich fillings..

We had afternoon tea here yesterday and it was one of, if not the best afternoon tea we have had. We started with a cup of home made winter vegetable soup. So good I had to ask what it was made from. Then a beautifully presented cake stand with sandwiches, savouries, scones and our choice of cakes. With of course a good supply of tea. The service was great and they even accommodated my wheelchair. Recommend to everone.

Excellent food, friendly staff and fabulous views over the bowling green. Lovely home made cakes. Doesn't seat many inside but plenty of seats and tables outside. Probably useful as a cafe stop for cyclists as its on a NCN route and 10 minutes bike ride or 20 minutes walk off the canal through the park. Will be going back.

The food is good and well presented and good prices. However I do not wish to sit next to dog lovers who then proceeded to feed the animal of their plate. The dog was on the seat with the owners . I wondered if the next move was for it to lick the plate. Thankfully this didn’t happen.

We visited Colne and wanted a lunchtime snack. We checked Tripadvisor and this had good reviews. It has been so mild this November we sat on the outside seating watching the people play crown bowls. I ordered the chicken and vegetable soup and my husband had the hunter chicken toasty. My soup was delicious and full of vegetable and chicken, scrumptious. My husband enjoyed his toasty. The cakes looked magnificent but I didn’t try them. Great little cafe with home made food…Thankyou.

BREAKFAST REVIEW Sun 9th October The Pavilion Cafe, Alkincotes Park, Colne. I've been meaning to visit this place for a while now so as the weather is still reasonable I took my motorbike for a spin out to Colne. I'd checked my map before heading off as although it's close to the centre of Colne it is tucked away in a park surrounded by residential streets. I found it easily enough and parked almost at the entrance to the park, insight of The Pavillion itself. My first impression on approaching the cafe was the explosion of colours from the window boxes adorning the Pavilion, I suppose that depends on the time of year though. I guess I got lucky. There were some tables outside the cafe but I prefer to sit in so I can see whats going on. It's a dog friendly cafe, which makes sense with it being in a park and there were a couple of little pooches being fussed over by customers. Personally I have no issue with well behaved dogs being in any establishment but if you are adverse to K9-company this one might not be for you. I found a seat and ordered at the counter. I went for the Large Breakfast. There was a Gut Buster version but the large would definitley suffice. I swapped the egg out for a slice of Black Pudding (which wouldn't have been included on the Large Breakfast) and ordered a pot of tea. I took my seat and waited. The place has a really friendly vibe, there were lots of cheery "Hellos", " Good Mornings" and "How are yous" It was obvious there was a regular clientele. There were 4 or 5 staff working together and you could see into the kitchen where breakfasts were being prepared, cakes were being decorated and everyone seemed genuinely busy and happy. My pot of tea arrived with teacup and saucer and a small jug of milk. I was actually offered a choice of cup or mug - that's a first! When my breakfast came I did the usual and checked the plate was hot - not to moan if it wasn't heated but if not I'd have to start straight in on the beans before they went cold as I hate cold beans. Anyway it was hot. It burnt my finger. Happy days! The first thing that struck me was the slice of black pudding. It must have been over an inch thick (that's about 2.54cm for the kids 😅). A very impressive slab of ebony goodness. The sausages were butchers pork sausages supplied by Schofields Butchers in Nelson and the bacon was a nice thickness and held its shape well through cooking, both were delicious and well prepared. There was grilled tomato, my preference rather than tinned and both halves were on my plate, which was a welcome change. The mushrooms were dark and rich with flavour and the beans were probably Heinz. The toast was sliced white, again, my preference with a breakfast and I was given a third extra slice as my waitress told the bread was a bit thin (or something similar 🤣👍). Sauces were in sachets. All in all it was a lovely breakfast served in a really friendly environment. It's a pity it took me so long to try it but I will be returning and I heartly reccomend visiting Pavilion Cafe at Alkincoats Park for a great breakfast.

Although the food and drink was fine I felt it was irresponsible of the serving staff to not wear a visor whilst leaning over people at their tables when serving food. Their customers range from young and old and I feel it is everybody's responsibility to protect themselves and others. A warm and sunny afternoon, picnic chairs, wide brimmed hats and friends who haven’t met face-to-face for 3 months! The Pavilion Cafe at Alkincoats Park has been providing takeaway food throughout lockdown and we decided to take advantage of their service for the first meal we hadn’t had to shop for or prepare since early Spring. We were not disappointed. Fresh, tasty sandwiches (hot or cold), freshly made picnic boxes and gorgeous cakes ( in generous portions ) available for purchase. A bit of a wait but all socially distancing rules adhered to, hand sanitisers for use, contactless payment preferred for orders of more than £5, and friendly service. It’s a good idea to pre order from the menu which is available on line. The Cafe also offers Afternoon Teas to take away and enjoy in the park or in your own garden.I can honestly say that the Bakewell Tart I had was the best I’ve ever tasted - absolutely, mouth-wateringly delicious.

Lovely setting, excellent value for money, everything I’ve had to eat has been top quality & home made. My favourite is the cheese & onion pie & the hummingbird cake. Thank you ladies, you do an amazing job ;-)

I recently went with 4 friends for afternoon tea. The food was out of this world, so fresh and all homemade, absolutely fabulous and there was so much we had take out bags. Service was so friendly and welcoming, already planning a return visit.

I had my 70th here the staff were lovely and accommodating and the place is very nice. We all had a great time and there was a large range of food and drink on offer. We would return here in a heart beat.

Being new to the area, my girlfriend and l like to have a Sunday breakfast out once in a while. The reviews on TripAdvisor for The Pavilion were good so we thought we would give it a go. Sadly we were less than impressed, l like my eggs soft but well splashed, when they came one was okay, one was broken. The sausages were low quality and had very little taste, the plate was so hot l burnt my finger, and the plate was drying out the leathery mushrooms. As l did not have the beans or has Brown's l opted for extra bacon, and got an extra sausage instead. My girlfriend's toasted sandwich was okay she said.

Called by the Pavilion Café for breakfast with my wife and our Puggle Bertie last Sunday. Not visited for a while and was impressed by the improvements to the facilities. We both ordered the full English, daily special. Served quickly and efficiently, food was hot and freshly prepared to a high quality. Great value at £5.50. Will return for breakfast and afternoon tea which looks amazing. There was even a sausage for Bertie!

Fabulous Christmas afternoon tea. Cant fault service or food. Loads of scrummy food. Guys if you book afternoon tea please turn up as the staff work really hard to get your food ready, disappointing and wasteful when you dont turn up.

My friend and I checked this cafe out after being on a hike. Was greeted by a lovely young lady who made us feel welcome. Had browse through the menu and ordered toasties each and a cappuccino and a mocha. Food came on time well presented and the coffee was hot. My friend who has worked in catering was impressed and let me tell you she is not easily impressed and has been known to send food back and make complaints. 10 out of 10 is all we can say👏👏👏
