Wee gem hidden away, so glade wee discovered it by chance, the staff are very polite and very helpful normally with a smile for every customer, always willing to oblige and chat while serving your order. They offer a small but tasty range of quality cakes, scones, and other hot snacks like baked potato's and toasties and such likes as well as range of tea and coffee's and soft drinks. Usually offer a clean and tidy area to sit and chill out during your visit with toilets adjacent to the cafe within the Dunelm store. A lift is on offer for those that might need to gain access to the 2nd floor rather tan the stairs, must admit Iv'e been visiting on a very regular basis for several months now and will continue while the food and service continues on this level.

Went to have a light bite at Scunthorpe , on Sunday 4/02 2024 we ordered a toasted sandwich, which is prepacked, the young girl serving the coffee was brilliant, but the young woman who prepared the sandwiches was appalling, first she banged the plates down, then opened the sandwich packets and took the sandwiches out with her bare hands, then proceeded to grill the sandwich which was grilled only on one side , so one side was toasted and the other side was just bread, when I confronted her, she said that's how the grill cooks, how about turning them over idiot, and she said I've washed my hands, how about tongs love, totally unexceptable, food and hygiene need to pay them a visit.

Best spot we've found when travelling south. We find their coffee and bacon roll to be the best around. Other items also very good. Staff very friendly and helpful

Visited pausa cafe in Dunelm at Scunthorpe yesterday for a cup of tea and bite to eat and how revolting the experience was. Tables hadn't been cleaned in-between customers and had tea dribbles and food residue on them and the carpeted area where we had to sit hadn't been swept and had long since seen the absence of a vacuum cleaner having bits of food allover it. I rate this experience as one star as my friend and I had bits of food stuck underneath our shoes and had to rub the tables with a napkin ourselves. We wouldn't have bothered stopping but we're both gasping for a brew. My friends labradors kennel is actually cleaner than this cafe as before leaving my friend needed to use the toilet,on entering the toilet a large faecal mark was present on the toilet pan, you would think that the staff would clean when not busy instead of stood gossiping about what they did at the weekend.

We are regular customers of Pausa. We have always enjoyed our coffee and food. The Maidstone branch has just been 'refurbished' The proper expreeso coffee machine has been replaced by a push button machine. The coffee was luke warm with very little taste. The cakes were dry and not fresh. I guess we'll have to go to Costas for a decent coffee !

I used to love old pausa and used to come with my son for lovely hot drinks and cakes. I was very excited that a new Pausa was so beautiful and offered a lot of hot food. And i mean i really tried to like it, however the ladies who work there are extremely rude and unprofessional. The hot chocolate for kids barely tastes like milk, more like water with choc taste, coffee is another level of bad, cakes are kept in a fridge with the wrong temperature and taste horrid because they are too cold [apple piefor example], hot food is good though. I really want to be going there because i like dunelm, but the service is just bad. if they smiled or at least said thankyou or maybe try to assist, things would be different. I am upset that the quality has become so poor. K

New family running this cafe since the last time I came in. The girl that took my order was unbelievably blunt and rude. Not even a thank you. I think I was a nuisance trying to spend my money. The jacket potatoes were avarage to say the least. It was obviously a family concern , they were all miserable. DUNELM YOU NEED TO SORT THIS PROBLEM URGENTLY

The lady that served was rude. We sat waiting for our food (which was soup and a roll) for quite a while. Then noticed people who had been served after us had been given their food. My partner went to ask if we had been forgotten. Again the lady that served was very blunt and rude. She said the food comes out in order so she was told people after us have got their food so she then said its because they have to wait for the microwave. No other food had come out that a microwave would of needed using for. Funnily enough our food then came out quite quick but no apology for the wait. I wouldn't have minded if they were busy or if the woman was a bit nicer about it. Plus side the soup was okay.

Took my mum to Dunelm to shop and have lunch. One toasty left and 2 panini’s. Asked if they had any more sandwiches, was told no. Looked at their menu board and asked for sausage sandwich, was told no because it was after 12. I said but you have nothing else, she just shrugged her shoulders. Asked to speak to manager, and nobody seem to know where they were. Really poor service at this cafe, no wonder there was hardly anyone in there. Certainly won’t be going there again. Staff just couldn’t care a less, obviously don’t need the job, and Dunelm don’t want any happy customers.

We would highly recommend this place to everyone. We received fantastic service from Natasha. The food is fresh and extremely tasty and the coffee sure hit the spot. The price is extremely reasonable for fresh food and fantastic service , first time here and we will be back soon!

Went for an early lunch but was a bit surprised that they didn’t have any potato wedges on a Saturday and it wasn’t even lunchtime, not the best service on what is likely a busier day of the week and not great considering it’s part of an offer to add potato wedges to a sandwich or toastie. Not bad if you just want coffee and cake but I would look elsewhere if you’re looking for more of a lunch option.

Visited Stevenage Pausa coffee shop in Dunelm mills today with my elderly mum. There was virtually no lunchtime food. Only a very few not very nice sandwiches and jacket potatoes .. and cakes. (Lovely cakes but who wants cake for lunch!) Although bacon rolls and sausage rolls and scrambled eggs were advertised… in very small print it said only until 12 midday. So this sort of food you’d like for lunch was not available for lunch. They wouldn’t even serve us a slice of toast (but they would toast a tea cake ?!? ) This cafe has the potential to be really nice … but you do actually need to serve food ! Oh and don’t complain on their review website cos they’ll post your personal details

I have just had the afternoon cream tea, scone was so hard and didn’t taste of nothing it was very hard to swallow, I had to ask for a bit more milk and hot water as I could not get it down it took ages to chew and stuck to my own teeth and gums, a very unpleasant scone catering mix I think. Three hungry adults and a 3 year old had a very acceptable Lunch, the bacon roll was really good, baked potato and tuna filli ng was excellent, there was a gluten free sandwich available.
