Visiting Paul after my appointment for a quick hot drink and something to eat. The place look very nice, they have seating upstairs also outside too which I took the option to seat outside on this lovely morning. I place my order at the counter and was very quick no waiting for your hot drinks too, when I had to pay I gave them cash but I was told we NOT accepting cash, only payment by cards, which is the shame that cash are not welcome. I understand is more a sort of a security for their buisness to deal with cards rather than cash but customers should still be able to pay how they like.

I think their sandwiches are good. You can find better coffee 👀

Paul, Dear Paul, I feel you let me down. We sat down and noticed the table was super wobbly. So we moved to another table only to find two of the three chairs were wobbly. I guess we could have moved to the table covered in crumbs. Coffee was okay (though it did take a while to be made) and I thought the mozzarella baguette was going to be dry. But actually it was pretty good. I hate to be harsh, but you can up your game. Especially as Gail is only two doors down. Yours truly, Rick.

Tremendous coffee (Lattte), pleasant atmosphere and consists of many different seating areas.

Esta gran cadena francesa de cafés está dispersa por todo Londres. Nos detuvimos en uno en South Kensington para tomar un café y un hoyo - dejar de desayunar mientras partimos de la vista - viendo. Fue útil porque estaba cerca de varios de los grandes museos a donde nos dirigíamos (Museo de la Ciencia, el Museo de Historia Natural y el V & A). Hizo el trabajo el día, pero no fue genial, así que no he vuelto. Las ofertas parecían bastante atractivas al principio. Sin embargo, yo tenía mucha hambre en ese momento, así que no era demasiado discriminatoria y cualquier cosa podría haberse visto bien. Sin embargo, para cuando el quiche y el croissant recibieron un rápido golpe en el microondas, estaban empapados y pastosos. Parece ser un lugar popular y las mesas interiores fueron tomadas, pero encontramos una mesa exterior en el pavimento. Podría haber sido agradable sentarse afuera, pero las mesas se estaban dejando sin despejar y eran sucias y pegajosas. En general, podría haber sido mucho mejor y si hay otras opciones mejores, las tomaría.

Unfortunately PAUL’s has become more visually appealing than actually tasty. Beside the fact that they are overpriced even for the city, the last two times we had pastries here, we were quite underwhelmed. They just didn’t manage to hit the spot where you are craving the next bite or even another pastry right after you finished yours.

Very expensive for a mediocre quality that every French person knows... nothing beats a real ARTISANAL bakery. Not very different from the French PAULs. Mini donut obviously defrosted, average coffee and almond croissant not great.

S Kensington tube station branch. 4/12/2024 First the fresh tea was made with scalding very very hot water so even after a few minutes outside I burnt my tongue and mouth. Second the croque monsieur had a hard white bone piece meaning it was real ham (good) but inedible in part. Lastly the price very high (£9.20) for one tea and one cheese toastie !

I only know PAUL from France, it's great that it's also available in the UK!!! I'm thrilled - delicious!

I like Paul. It's a sure bet for a fast and nice meal. The location is very cool and although it was a cold day, people seemed happy to eat outside. I know I was. However I found the dessert a little too sweety.

The coffee wasn't bad Food something yes something no We took 6 different things, both sweet and savory, the non-chicken sandwich was not approved, the tuna sandwich fits The bread with cheese was good The mini donut type with chocolate was very soft and good. The staff is not very friendly unfortunately

Very slow service for a decaf flat white. It was tasteless. No excuse despite what the barista said, no caffeine doesn’t mean pee water coffee. Chouquettes disappointing, not fresh & crisp. Must have been standing since early baking. 😢

Nice place to sit outdoors in the sun and have a cup of coffee. It is rather pricey but it also has that exclusive feel and the pastry is nice.

Like to pop in before the game. I enjoy the occasional burger & if you want a fresh bun. This is my choice

I got a croissant to take away. It was tasty and fresh. Also ordered a coffee but the person serving was quite offhand and uncommunicative and didn't seem to be listening- and didn't make the coffee... So I went over the road to the coffee place by the station and got one there.

I tried croissant and hot chocolate. Both are so yum and the hot chocolate is so chocolatey and yummm

Careful when you buy any of their sandwiches as they are a rip off with only a small amount of meat and you end up basically paying for bread!! Shameful service.

The staff was a bit rude. I sometimes talk a bit softly and I understand that it's hard to hear. But in a polite society you say "excuse me, could you repeat that?" or something similar, not "huh?" while making a face. Also, I payed extra for the double shot latte, my wife ordered a regular latte, they both came at the same time, without any markings or anything. They also tasted the same.

Really enjoy this eatery. Food is delicious and love the atmosphere. Staff is wonderful as well.

good choice of tartes and baguettes but they made the cappuccino with semi-skimmed milk after assuring me it was whole milk. I returned it for a refund which was eventually given with reluctance and bad grace.

El local es una vergüenza para una conocida pastelería francesa desde 1889 , los capuccinos se servían en una taza astillada y sin platillos y a pesar de comer en una mesa nos daban las tortas en una bolsa de papel , no tienen platos ni cuchara metálica... Decir que somos una toma de distancia mientras tienen una habitación arriba y mesas fuera. ¿Tiene el lugar algún sentido de orgullo por su trabajo y su historia? Tan decepcionante M&T

Got a cup sandwich to take away while waiting to enter the natural history museum. Helpful staff, good communication. I also had an espresso, significantly above the London average.

Horrible location! The 1st floor seating area is warm and smells. The staff is unprepared or untrained. Either way, I would avoid this location.

Paul doesn’t care about customer it’s all about making money . After complaining for an appalling service I received at the South Kensington branch on the 7/6/24 they offered me a hot drink voucher to claim on the App meaning that I need to download the app enter all my detail and then eventually Paul will upload the free hot drink voucher . What a scam !! Stay away !!

Stopped in on Friday morning to get 2 coffees. It was quite crowded with minimal room to stand whilst paying and waiting for the order to be prepared. Nonetheless this was expected for the area. However, once I paid and after a good few minutes of waiting the staff let me know my transaction hadn’t gone through. I was called back in between the rush of other customers to quickly tap my card again. Once I did this I immediately checked my banking app, and I could see 2 pending transactions for the exact same amount, suggesting I had been charged twice. I let the staff know and showed them the 2 charges but they refused to refund me and insisted they had only charged once. When I asked for the receipt for the first transaction, the one they insisted hadn’t gone through, they refused to provide it, stating that they couldn’t do that. Both transactions went through and I had to go through the hassle of contacting the bank to raise a dispute to get refunded. Absolute horrible service and they had absolutely no clue how to respond in this situation to help.

A great but small coffee shop very near the popular touristy museums. Has a small, intimate feel with an upstairs seating deck. A little bit cramped - does not seat too many people (10-15 total). Drinks are all served in paper cups. Croissant in a paper bag. Can understand this but would’ve been nice to have the option to have a proper mug. Tea was good and croissant was really nice. Staff were very friendly!

The Ham and Cheese Baguette and the Pistachio Macaron were yummy! 😋

Very authentic boulangerie patisserie selling delicious pastries and fabulous breads. If I lived in London I’d go every day! We sat outside under the canopy watching the rain come down and the people rush by. Drinking great coffee and devouring pain au chocolates and pain au raisins! A great way to while away some time on a Sunday morning whilst waiting for the museums to open!

Reliable bread and long opening hours, including on Sundays, so a good option for a snack or quick lunch, as long as you don’t need to be careful about cross-contamination with nuts or peanuts.

Rudest staff I ever seen… broken and wobbly chair and a lady server screaming at me claiming I was the one breaking it

I've veen a regular customer there often before until their toaster didn't "break". It's been over an year and a half that this sandwich place doesn't toast their sandwiches. It's like pasta place too not being able to cook pasta and offer kebab. On top of that, each time I ask about when is this going to be back and sorted, the staff is rude and does show their annoyance because I've even asked! Keep your mini donuts and bad coffee. Although I live in Sounth Kensington, I go to the Chelsea branch instead. They are kind and we'll mannered and surprisingly they have a toaster.

Very disorganised and badly run! Ordered one oat flat white coffee - they made three other people’s regular milk flat whites before making mine (they ordered after me). I sat upstairs and the seating area was full of rubbish and chairs all over the place. I was there for 20-mins and not once did anyone come to clean/tidy the tables. Awful.

Unfortunate negative experience here. Cannot recommend at all. From appearances, this looks like the perfect stop for a coffee or desert or fresh sandwich on gourmet bread after hopping off the tube, but don’t be fooled. Read the reviews. The service here is terrible. I didn’t know that before trying it. I know it now. I stopped by in early evening with my young daughter for dessert and perhaps a coffee. There was a very short line. Immediately after finishing with the customers ahead of us in line, the tall Indian man behind the counter, who was working the entire restaurant by himself (management!), skipped us and started taking and making drink orders for the people behind us in line! He did this for over five minutes and then I politely interrupted him and asked, “I know you’re trying to get ahead but could you please take our order so we can get our food and go?” I looked at the other customers and they smiled knowingly because they could see we’d been skipped. My daughter asked for vanilla macaron and he didn’t know what she was talking about. Then we quickly finished our order, paid, and left. Not a huge deal but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Why were we skipped? Because we are American? I will not be going back! We’ll be sticking to Gail’s on the corner and Paul on Gloucester Rd hereafter because this place sucks!

Hace mas de 20 años que viajo a Londres cn regularidad y nunca me habia sentido tan menospreciado por el personal de una tienda. Y la verdad es que una Compañia como PAUL que ofrece productos exclusivos a precios exclusivos no deberia tener empleados que no sean capaces de darte las buenas tardes o de sonreir. Y no, no es un problema idiomatico xq hablo y entiendo ingles perfectamente asi que espero que esto lo lea el management y tome medidas si que es que quieren seguir ofreciendo exclusivisad en sus productos. Hablando de productos, las dos bagguetes que he comprado estaban bastante duras y tengo mis dudas de si eran de hoy. En fin, una pena que una Compañia de tanto nivel se vea perjudicada por trabajadores q no entienden que estan para servir al publico de forma amable y eficiente. Yo no volveré desde luego.

Bought a sandwich which was stale and sat in the fridge for 8 hours, they didn’t refund me as they said there was no manager there and they didn’t have the authority, disgraceful! Food has gone massively downhill !

This is a small French bakery is South Kensington. The bakery was an excelent place for a small pastery and snack. There was outdoor seating which was nice. The pain au chocolate was delicious. Overall it was a good experience.

watch out! They charge to eat in yet no eat in utensils. Just disposable fork and paper cups and plates. disappointing and very expensive

Watch out - 1£ extra per tart for eating in! Tart as take away is 4.95£ but eating-in the same tart costs 5.95£. We had 2 cappuccinos and 2 Rhubarb tarts for 18.95£ It is self-service with paper cups and baked goods get boxed even if you will eat it right away. Disposable fork as well. Total rip off and no interest in reducing waste. Shame on Paul. Coffee was good and tart was also good. Friendly staff did not take kindly to my comment about charging extra for eating in.

They only have single-use cups and cutlery even if you eat in, and they don’t take cash. The place is also quite loud, busy and expensive but that’s common for London. The food is good and the staff friendly.

Great little Paul’s with an upstairs seating area and also outside terrace if the weathers kind. It’s all very tiny but delivers the usual great Paul’s baguettes and drinks

I wanted an Apricot tart. Some had just been cooked in the oven so i asked for one of those but they wouldn't let me have one!

Just been to Paul bakery South Kensington and ordered a sandwich and coffee but have been served by the rudest girl I have ever met nearly as rude as my x wife ....what a shame I won't be going there again..I normally go to the Earl's court shop the staff there are much nicer

Bakery is great - but terrible employee! He was discussing with a colleague how unhappy he is that he is back to work, and this reflected on his interactions with customers. Wouldn’t recommend.

Yummy was always. Highly recommend the Gourmandise! Freshly baked, crispy and melt in the middle. Also check the mini pastries - they are a delight.

Ate breakfast in, arrived before it got really busy, the coffee and croquet fregeres (mushroom) was good. Service nice and polite - no table service but that is fine - very quick. Pricey, but what do you expect for the location. The sweat menu looks fantastic.

I've been to Paul in Paris, so I know this patisserie well. Mille-feuille is what I like. A bite of this patisserie brings back fond memories of France. Their bread is also good and they will slice it for you. There are outdoor seats and upstairs too.

I bought a chicken sandwich and an almond pain au chocolat! the sandwich was okay, it was quite slimy? something wasn't quite right I'm not sure if that's how it is or not. the pain au chocolat was amazing though!

Amazing customer service 5 stars out 5 🤩 but the food , nearly £7.00 for the box of salad , only lettuce , 5mg of grated carrots , 10g of salmon , 2 skinny slices of cucumber , 2 pieces of Japanese green bean and sauce …I am shocked . In the area I can not find a place to eat…the quality and prices should be matched

Setting aside the fact that it was less than a pleasant experience and I was treated in a less than respectful manner, I am worried that the staff behaviour was rude towards me as a customer ( just because I had tried to use my points from the Paul’s app in order to purchase a cake). Apart from rolling their eyes at me and telling me that they haven’t got any of the ingredients for the cake that I have ordered it left me appalled. What kind of patisserie doesn’t have the ingredients to bake the cakes they advertise on their website?! Irrespective of the bitter aftertaste, I am sure that this approach towards me personally at that moment is not reflective of Paul’s values and how Paul’s treat all other prospective customers. On a personal note, I was horrified about your staff’s approach, which I believe did a disfavour to the Paul’s patisserie as I do love purchasing their cakes which are of great quality. Needless to say, I will not return there.

Personale maleducato, scortese, per nulla paziente con chi non sa perfettamente l'inglese. Nato tutto perché non ho capito il nome di un panino...non mi capita mai di litigare, ma queste commesse sono state in grado di farmi perdere la pazienza. Sono stata praticamente cacciata dal locale.

Extremely rude / anti social behaviour from staff. I visited Paul on Monday 20th of March at 3pm and a young blond employee was at the til. Should have been a very straight forward order of flat white. My partner asked if we could have one sugar in the coffee. This isn’t an unreasonable request as some cafes definitely ask you this when making the espresso. Anyway, she looked at us like we had asked for a dash of garlic in our coffee and said sugar is outside in trays. My partner immediately said “it’s ok never mind.” To which she gave us a loaded stare and shook her head. I mean, we weren’t rude, we were smiling and we just asked if something was possible. Why the attitude and why make us feel so bad? I rarely leave bad reviews but my partner is an extremely friendly and polite human being and doesn’t deserve to be treated like garbage.
