The service does lack something but the food and atmosphere kind of makes up for it. They serve a great duck confit and a seriously tasty tarte tatin.

I was able to eat there with my family. The atmosphere is good, the service excellent... but real thieves for the price. Be careful, for the French, tap water is almost €10 a bottle, and I had a hamburger (clearly average) for more than €25, and the fries were extra (not marked on the map)

This venue is perfect for a lovely stop as you continue exploring Belgravia or Knightsbridge on foot. It is also perfect for a nice intimate gathering either personal or professional. It is incredibly well located close to many amenities, public transportation and easy access to key attractions and historic landmarks. I really enjoyed my coffee and cheesecake there. Staff were very friendly and professional. A lovely addition to my must-go-to places! Check it out!

I'm happy that I visited again. Great food, amrosphere, and service. If they can improve something, it is the room temperature. It needs a better balance between the hot and cold. In today's visit, the temperature was fine, but at 2.30 pm, the restaurant was full, and the table I had requested was not available. The service was slow, but the food was good. The restaurant has potential, but small details will make it great. I am taking one star away, on account of poorer overall service.

It should have been better, and it should have worked. Not only did our wait staff change mid-meal (without communicating it), but it took too long to get drinks, and our pre-theatre meal was average. Colbert is a brunch restaurant recommended by local friends in London, UK. Colbert is not a restaurant for tourists (it’s the kind of restaurant where tourists come to make pilgrimages), and I didn’t see any Asian customers in the entire restaurant. This restaurant has very high ratings in the local area and business is so good. I came in early in the morning and was afraid that I wouldn't have a seat. I recommend the avocado poached egg brunch and eggs Benedict. The super fresh ingredients are paired with bursting poached eggs. I also tried the classic dish. The reviews said it was delicious. I also had a healthy spinach smoothie and hot chocolate to warm my hands. , start a beautiful morning in London I came to the UK for two weeks and happened to live nearby. I found that there are often sports cars parked in front of "Colbert". It is said that this area is an old money area, where rich people with royal blood and generations live, so naturally super cars are found in this area. seems to be the norm

This is one of those consistent institutions that never disappoints. Hearty food whether breakfast, lunch or dinner. A go-to local even if only for a drink at the bar. Maintained that shabby-chic brassiere mood for many years. Maybe a reason for having spotted Bob Geldof in the corner booth on a few occasions. I first dined here in the 1980's when the waiters and the atmosphere were very wholly french. Today, the best thing about this restaurant is the Art Deco lighting. The female waitresses were surly, my mashed avocado with salmon was served on a 'tartine which was no more than a thick slice of uninteresting fairly stale bread. This cost nigh £18. Truly this place has seen much better days as far as a gourmet experience is concerned.

There was a single small shrimp on top, sliced super thin, then fanned around the circular out form. Then some avocado, not ripe enough and a little sauce. Least the flat white was good. Of course they came and told us our time was up at our table. Have been here several times and always come away with the same general feeling. Overpriced and underwhelming.

I live in France … this place looks like a French bistro , the staff is dressed like in a bistro, the dishes are bistro … but it’s not really good at the end of day. Industrial bred warmed before service to give a sense of home made, we took a BLT salad with chicken … no seasoning but ingredients were ok, the croque madame is average and the prawns came from a supermarket frozen bag. On top of that, no wet hand tissue with the prawns, we had to ask the staff two or three times to get drinks, water, etc… I understand that non French can find it ok but this place is average at best food wise especially at 50 £ pp with one beer each. The decor is nice though. Update : I'm pushing from 3 to 4 stars because after the above comment, their team contacted me to discuss what I wrote: there's no better sign of professionalism. All businesses have ups & downs and having a management team behaving like with a customer (me) who'll most probably never come back is rare nowadays.

Now, i ordered the entrecote steak rare, which came out too done, so i sent it back. Had to cut it open in front of the waiter who agreed it was too done. I know how i like my steak and if im paying £40 for it, you best get it right. Mister smarty pants came back later to tell me it was actually rare and showed me pictures of the piece of meat chopped up behind the scenes and that it was indeed rare. Made me feel like i didnt know what i was talking about. It’s plain simple, my steak was too cooked and everyone at the table agreed, so just redo it. Why the sass? Honestly.. id rather go to the wolseley - better food, less attitude. Ps: no im not emailing you to discuss further. It was not a nice experience and i aint comin back hun.

My wife and I are fans of The Wolseley, so we were interested to try this restaurant which is part of the same group. The menu came with the much loved traditional French options and accompanying wine list. We had a pleasant lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon but sadly we found this restaurant didn’t reach the same heights of the Wolseley itself. We were also surprised to find a “table cloth” charge of £2.5pp snuck onto the bill in addition to a high service charge %; I’ve never seen this at a London restaurant. Whilst it’s not a huge amount, I don’t like the principle of additional charges that you have to read the small print to be aware of. When we asked, the waiter explained its to cover the cost of having a table cloth on the table, this is a bemusing comment when you’re in a restaurant and their operational costs should just be factored into the menu pricing; it’s not like you get a choice at the start of the meal…. He managed explained it’s a legacy from previous owners and they decided to keep it but quickly offered to remove it, a sign that we’re not the only ones to have raised it. Would we go again, although we have a nice meal we probably wouldn’t, just because I feel there are better options available for the same money.

I had the pleasure of dining at Colbert in Sloan Square for a lunch meeting. Colbert is a French-style cafe bar and restaurant with a chic Parisian ambiance that instantly transports you to the streets of Paris, minus the Eiffel Tower at Sloan square . Now, let's talk about the cocktails. I decided to start with the "Azure Mexican," a delightful concoction that supposedly combines del Maguey Vida Mezcal, aperol, rosemary syrup, lime juice, grapefruit soda, and angostura bitters. However, to my surprise, the waitress informed me that they were out of the essential ingredient - the elusive Vida mezca which is 100% organic agave . Fear not, my adventurous taste buds were willing to settle for a tequila substitution. Little did I know, the bartender had other plans. When the cocktail arrived, I took one sip and immediately sensed something was amiss. I called the waitress over and asked her to investigate the mystery of the missing mezcal. To my disbelief, she returned with the shocking revelation that the bartender had replaced it with gin! Gin, in a cocktail named "Azure Mexican"! I couldn't help but wonder why they didn't just rename it "Blue English." Thankfully, the manager swiftly rectified the situation with an average tequila, which, I must admit, was a step up from the gin fiasco. Despite this cocktail catastrophe, the food at Colbert was truly exceptional. I started with the Prawn & Avocado Cocktail, a refreshing combination of flavors that danced on my palate. For the main course, I opted for the Grilled Octopus with tomato and chorizo salsa sauce - a dish that showcased the chef's mastery of flavors and textures. And for dessert, the Coupe Amandine stole the show, boasting pistachio, hazelnut, and almond nougatine ice cream that was a sweet symphony in every bite. I capped off the meal with an espresso macchiato, because who needs sleep when you can have coffee? In conclusion, despite the cocktail mishap, my experience at Colbert was nothing short of splendid. The food alone made up for any disappointment, leaving me with a satisfied and satiated palate. However, I can't help but ponder the state of service in most London restaurants over the past few years. Are gin-filled Mexican cocktails the new norm? Only time will tell. Bon appétit, Nick #doctorfoodielondon

She came back sweetness and light and said the door would be kept closed. The point is there is a clear dislike towards the clients, a very bad culture here. I really did think I was in Paris!

I will never again visit or recommend this restaurant Worst restaurant ever always crowded with the people. I feel very sorry for the staff who works there they always have to keep running here and there also they call some staff from agency who are students and they make them roaming around the restaurant and ask to find them work and give them stupid works to do. Not satisfied with the restaurant

We had a lovely ladies’ lunch at the Colbert earlier this week after visiting an exhibition. We rolled up without a reservation so had to wait 45 min, which we spent shopping nearby. The food was excellent and I particularly enjoyed the kedgeree. But my review is written to compliment our waiter (a gentleman with glasses) who made our lunch even more enjoyable by being attentive without ever being obtrusive and who ensured everything went seamlessly. Thank you so much!

Went for a very late Sunday lunch without a reservation and managed to get a good table. The atmosphere was nice and there are lots of waiters. However, the food was disappointing for the price they charge, especially as they add a 15% service charge and a £2.50 cover charge per person on top. A mains dish of French sausages on puy lentils turned out to be quite small, far too salty, and made of brown instead of puy lentils. The chicken was OK but the accompanying salad very meagre and limp. Both mains were £25 +15%! Conclusion: only go there if you have no alternative and/or money to burn, and don't expect delicious food!

Visited this place several times during our stay in London. Staff is very friendly, and tea is spot on. Enjoyed morning tea and scones, afternoon tea, and even after dinner tea here.
